IN 1935, Wright-Hargreaves Mines, Limited, initiated an enlarged programme of ventilation. In the mine, surveys were made from time to time by the geological staff, and improvements in ventilation were effected to accord with progress in mining as greater depth was attained. In the summer of 1938 an engineer was trained in the technique of dust sampling. Instruments and equipment for this purpose, such as konimeter, microscope, furnace, etc., were purchased, and a suitable office, equipped with laboratory facilities, was provided. The full time of the engineer is devoted to ventilation and dust control. On surface, in the mill crushing-plant and in the assay office and sample crushing room, an elaborate arrangement of hoods and exhaust systems has been installed to eliminate the dust. These installations, however, are not described in the present paper, which deals only with an extensive programme of underground ventilation as a method of coping with high dust concentrations, increasing temperatures and high humilities.

"This paper outlines the implementation of the Mechanic's Stethoscope from the earliest stages of development to the implementation at Brunswick Mining and Smelting. It details the cooperative efforts of personnel at Noranda Technology Centre (NTC) and Brunswick Mining & Smelting (BMS) during the technology transfer of the Mechanic's Stethoscope. It demonstrates how everyone worked toward a goal of developing a product that is accepted as a useful addition to the work environment.The Mechanic's Stethoscope is an underground vehicle diagnostic system consisting of computer hardware and software intended to assist mechanics in daily tasks. Its tools facilitate quick and easy access to any information required during the maintenance of an underground vehicle. Each tool presents vehicle condition data in a simplified manner. The additional information improves the mechanics understanding of the vehicle condition. The result is a healthier fleet of vehicles and faster diagnosis times.When introducing a computer based system into a traditionally non-computer oriented environment a concern is the acceptance of the system. This concern exists on many levels."

The types of equipment available for generating a plasma have been reviewed. The efficiency and potential of the plasma generating equipment used in performing extractive metallurgical reactions have been determined. A general classification of the reactions that might be per-formed in a plasma has been proposed. Experimental work done on extractive metallurgical plasma reactions, heat transfer between the plasma and solids, and the quench of the products of plasma reaction has been summarized. From the preliminary results it appears that the high-intensity are or the transpiration-cooled anode plasma torch offer the most promising areas for further research. C ONSIDERABLE world-wide research effort is currently being devoted to the development of processing technologies which employ the new high-temperature generating devices that have appeared over the past few years. "Fourteen companies (Appendix) representing senior mining organizations in Canada were canvassed in order to assess: (1) the current usage and trends, and (2) the usefulness of computer applications in ore reserve estimation and grade control. The results of the questionnaire suggest that:• computers are unsurprisingly, predominant in the mining industry for calculating reserves and performing grade control;• time and cost savings are realized;• computer-based approaches are applicable to underground situations;• geological information is incorporated to the computerization process; and• computer usage does not hinder the collaboration of geologist and mining engineer.A clear need is identified for case histories comparing computer-calculated ore reserves and actual production data.IntroductionAmong the management and technical staff of some mining companies there is a perception that the application of computer based technology for the estimation of ore reserves and grade control, has as many drawbacks as benefits. Some of the objections raised against the utilization of computers for ore reserve estimation are that:• computer-based reserve models work for large open pit mines but not for underground situations;• computer-generated reserves ignore the geologist's knowledge base; they are strictly a number crunching exercise; and• the use of computers for ore reserves hinders collaboration between the geologist and mining engineer.In order to determine (I) the extent of current computer usage and future trends and (2) whether the objections noted above are borne out by experience, a number of senior Canadian mining companies were canvassed.The respondents were asked to provide:• an assessment of the importance of the computer in the ore reserve estimation and grade control process;• the level of involvement of individuals and staff groups with computer-based ore reserve estimation;• the advantages perceived and realized from the utilization of computer-based ore reserve approaches;• the current and future human resources requirements for the evaluation, implementation, maintenance and development of computer-based ore reserve systems;• the hardware and software resources presently used and planned; and• the developments needed to increase the use and acceptance of computer-based ore reserves."

"The southern Abitibi Belt is the major source of gold in Quebec. Although the northern part of the belt is quickly being developed, the area under study will not be downgraded in the near future because it still contains more than 75% of the known reserves in the belt.Gold is found in a variety of geological environments which are part of a small number of distinct structural patterns. For the exploration geologist, outlining such patterns might be easier and more productive than defining, when it is possible, the exact genetic nature of the gold mineralization.Exploring in the right place has always been one of the main concerns of explorationists. This paper briefly describes the various favourable geological settings, and outlines areas, types of structure and lithologies of high potential for gold exploration in the southern Abitibi Belt.IntroductionThe southern part of the Abitibi Belt is a profilic mining area for precious and base metals (Lulin 1990). Although mineralizing processes and controls of polymetallic deposits are well known and understood (Lydon 1984), almost every gold occurrence is a unique case and numerous models have been proposed (Roberts 1987; Hodgson and McGeehan 1982; Hodgson 1990).This study does not define new genetic models for the formation of gold deposits, neither is it meant to elaborate on the existing ones. A genetic approach, is by definition, theoretical and, to some extent, universal. It helps geologists define types of targets and exploration tools but does not outline or quantify target areas. To tentatively summarize the complexity of a genetic approach, a brief discussion on the various genetic models in vogue in Abitibi and the problems related to their use in exploration can be found at the end of this paper."

"The mining industry continues to remain challenged. Lower commodity prices, increasing labor costs and more importantly diminishing reserves are amongst some of the primary factors contributing to the difficulties faced. Ore sorting technologies have demonstrated their potential to improve the downstream beneficiation performance. The general processing route sees all primary crushed material milled for liberation and then processed in accordance with characteristics of the gold therein, i.e.: refractory golds would require direct leaching or oxidation whilst free gold would follow the conventional cyanidation process, after gravity concentration. Ore dilution increases the associated operating costs within each stage of this process. The opportunity to process the same throughput at a higher grade can only be achieved through pre-concentration. Sensor based sorting has been examined on numerous occasions by various gold producers. Test work carried out on different bulk low grade gold ores has shown the successful applicability of ore sorting to remove waste, whilst maintaining high recovery rates of gold. The results of a combined XRT/Laser sensor sorter have shown grade improvements of over 300% from feed grades of 0,25g/t to 1,15g/t at gold recoveries of 66% and waste ejection rates of 85%. This paper presents some of the results from the work undertaken by STEINERT with respect to gold sulphide ore sorting and presents a modelled financial scenario, which can enable a company to target and reclaim low grade ores.INTRODUCTION The mining and minerals processing industry presents with many different challenges including, volatile commodity prices, increasing labor costs and more importantly diminishing reserves. Conventional processing routes will continue to play a crucial role in the beneficiation process, however innovative methods of reducing operating costs and optimizing on the overall circuit performance is where technologies such as sensor based sorting come into the fore. Sensor based sorting as a dry mechanical process not only reduces water consumption by eliminating unnecessary waste but also reduces the requirements for reagents in the downstream processes. Sensor based sorting under dry conditions presents a highly efficient alternative to wet pre-concentration methods such as dense medium separation (DMS)."

The amount of impurities to be processed in a copper smelting process has increased for recent years because of an increase in the electronic scrap amount. It has been found that Sb and Ni effect on the operation of our copper electrorefining process. It is found that the current efficiency of the copper electrorefining tended to be decreased as the Ni concentration in the electrolyte increased. The passivation of the process seemed to be more related to SO4 concentration in the electrolyte rather than the Ni concentration in it. The current efficiency decreased when the Sb content in the anode was high. A high Sb content in the anode caused easy passivation by forming a gel-like film in the slime layer. We have developed a method to for see the anode passivation in a short time while generating a slime layer. We confirmed the tendency of passivation through the experiment of changing Pb content in anode. Passivation was easily occur with an increase in Pb content in the anode. The amount of slime increased as the Pb content in the anode increased. This suggests that passivation was facilitated because liquid diffusion near the anode was inhibited. We examined the components of our copper electro-refining process like anode composition, slime properties and electrolyte composition, and investigated the mechanism by which Sb and Ni affect passivation and current efficiency. "In view of the chronic overcapacity problem in the world potash industry and Saskatchewan's recent emergence as a major producer, the long-term outlook for potash productive capacity and consumption is of importance and interest to both the Saskatchewan Government and the potash industry. This paper is based on a report recently published by the Saskatchewan Department of Mineral Resources on projected world potash productive capacity and consumption for the ten-year period 1970 to 1980. Potash productive capacity and consumption are estimated on a country and regional basis and projected annually to 1980. Tables and graphs are included which summarize projected capacity and consumption for the period and illustrate the impact of Saskatchewan's capacity upon the North American and world potash industries."

The oxidation of Fe(II) with S(IV) and oxygen can be used advantageously in leaching systems requiring both Fe(III) and sulfuric acid; e.g., heap leaching of sulfide-containing ores or concentrates. The oxidation of Fe(II) with SO2/air is several orders of magnitude faster than with air alone; rates of up to ?20 g/L'h were observed at 25°C. The reaction proceeds via an intermediate orange-red mixed-valence Fe(II)/Fe(III) sulfite complex, which is present at an essentially constant concentration throughout most of the oxidation process. The oxidation rate of Fe(II) is approximated by the formula -d[Fe(II)]/dt = k [S(IV)] [02]0'3. The concentration of the mixed-valence complex, and thus the iron oxidation rate, decreases with increasing acidity. Certain impurities, such as SCN- and thiourea, negatively affect the rate. The oxidation reaction 2Fe2 + SO2 + 02 4 2Fe3+ + S042- is accompanied by the side reaction H20 + SO2 + 1/202 4 H2SO4. The side reaction becomes particularly important at low temperatures and whenever the oxygen mass transfer is insufficient with respect to the rate of addition of S(IV). Thus, effective oxygen mass transfer is essential for achieving high oxidation rates with minimal acid formation. The activation energy was estimated as 141 kJ/mol over the temperature range 10-35°C.

"The aim in flotation systems is to control the grade and recovery of the product., numerical method or sampling and analysis is used to achieve this goal. Weakness of measuring instruments, lack of process knowledge, deficiencies in management and data processing in the control of flotation cells, has led the academic and industrial units to use numerical models. In this regard, using the results obtained from the experimental design carried out in the DTP line of Gol Gohar industrial and mining complex, a regression model was developed based on the analysis of variance. To present this model, after variance analysis of factors and interactions, all models were investigated and the final model was created based on 75% of the data. The model was tested with the remaining 25% of the data to confirm the goodness of the fit. The coefficient of determination for training and testing resulted 71% and 74%. Moreover, a feed forward back propagation neural network with different layers and neuron was used to model the results. The best network structure was 6-27-1 and the coefficient of determination for this network was 99% and 98% for training and test respectively. Given the complexity of neural network models and the relatively low accuracy of the regression model, neural network has a priority assuming we have access to a specialist. In addition, the results obtained from neural network can be used as expert systems to control and optimize the flotation cells.INTRODUCTIONThe primary objective of the flotation cell control is to maintain the product's (in this case tailing) recovery and grade, which represents the index for process efficiency and product quality. Continuous estimation of these indexes requires a significant amount of maintenance, and calibration of the continuous analyzers, in order to maintain an acceptable level of accuracy. Weakness of measurement equipment, lack of process knowledge and the general deficiency in management and processing of data in the flotation cell control, will lead industrial units to use smart methods such as mathematical models, regression and neural networks in near future (Panahi, Abdollahzadeh, & Sam, 2010). Artificial neural networks are inspired by the very complex structure of human brain in which millions of nerve cells solve problems or store information by communicating with each other. The duty of neural networks learning. It should be noted that learning in artificial neural networks is limited, and what is practically considered is the computing power of the network. A neural network consists of units called neurons, and has the capacity to handle a set of input data to produce a desired output data set. Each of these input and output data sets can be assumed as a vector (Soltanmohammadi & Noparast, 2006)."

"Numerous studies of the Bousquet mining district, Abitibi, Quebec, mainly following the successive discoveries of new gold deposits over the past two decades, have led to a broad range of genetic hypotheses for their gold deposition. A compilation of petrographic, structural, and geochemical data indicates that the gold deposits are composed chiefly of pyritic schists derived from felsic and mafic volcanic and volcaniclastic protoliths, and of auriferous massive pyrite hosted by pyritic schists of felsic affinity. The deposits are typically located within zones of local pyrite enrichment and advanced-argillic alteration which are in turn enclosed within much larger zones of disseminated pyrite included in regional-scale, commonly anastomosing, zones of sericitic alteration.Overprinting relationships between three sets of folds and foliations indicate that the host-rocks of the gold deposits have retained the imprint of three successive generations of ductile deformation resulting from regional dynamothermal metamorphism. Sericitic and advanced-argillic alteration, together with massive sulphide deposition, are interpreted to have taken place prior to the onset of the ductile deformation, based on observations 1) of altered fragments of wallrocks which are enclosed within massive sulphide bodies and were thus preserved through regional metamorphism, 2) of the syntectonic deformed pyrite, and3) of the syn-tectonic porphyroblasts of andalusite, garnet and plagioclase. The orebodies are oblate to prolate, and the pyrite-gold mineralization is typically vein-type, distributed in foliation-oblique and foliation-parallel veins. The gold-bearing structures postdate all foliations, and are associated with retrograde alteration assemblages that are pseudomorphic after pea~-metamorphic porphyroblasts in host-rocks, and with cataclasticfabrics that overprint syn-metamorphic pressure-solution features and annealing fabrics in pyrite.Retrograde gold-bearing assemblages indicate a chemical disequilibrium between the ore-forming fluids and their host rocks. This disequilibrium rules out the possibility that gold was remobilized from its own host, and suggests, instead, that the ore-forming fluids and their metal contents had an allochtonous source. Stable and radiogenic isotope analyses indicate that the fluids had a metamorphic origin, and that the associated alteration took place after the culmination of the Kenoran orogeny."

Introduction This paper deals with the operations and plant of the Craigmont Corundum Project, formerly of Wartime Metals Corporation but now under the Mines Section of the Resources Development Branch of the Department of Reconstruction and Supply. Corundum is recovered by the re-treatment of an old tailing deposit at Craigmont, Ontario. Crude concentrates so produced are shipped to the plant of the American Abrasives Company, Inc., at Westfield, Mass., for final processing and distribution to the abrasive industry. The plant was recently described in a paper entitled Craigmont Corundum which was presented by the writer before the Chicago meeting of the A.I .M.E. in February, 1946. General The Project is located on? lots 4 and 5, concession XVIII, township of Raglan, Renfrew county, Ontario, near the village of Combermere, which is on Highway 62. The property is about 135 miles from Ottawa. The general area enjoys a pleasant climate with moderate summer temperatures, though the winters are rather severe, the mercury frequently falling to - 35 deg. F. The excellent boating, fishing, and hunting have made the district a favourite resort for tourists. Lumbering is the main industry. Some farming is carried on, but the soil is poor and much of the land is hilly and rocky. There are no other operating mines in the immediate vicinity, though several 'industrial minerals', including mica, feldspar, nepheline, beryl, socialite, and others have been produced in the area. The district is drained by the York and Madawaska rivers and is generously dotted with large and small lakes. The general elevation is about 1,000 feet above sea level, though numerous hills rising several hundred feet give a rolling appearance to the landscape.

Many of the gold deposits in the Timmins• area show a close spatial association to ultramafic metavolcanics. Available analytical data suggest that ultramafic rocks contain significantly higher gold contents than other major rock types. In addition, recent analyses by Keays (1975) suggest that talc-carbonate alteration of ultramafic rocks releases significant quantities of gold. It is proposed that the ultramafic volcanics formed the principal source of gold for the deposits in Timmins, and that the gold was derived from the ultramafic flows when they were extensively carbonatized. Carbonatization of the ultramafic rocks and emplacement of the auriferous quartz-carbonate veins was probably coincident with the last major period of deformation in the gold camp. Delineation of hitherto unrecognized ultramafic volcanics could be an important guide to the discovery of further gold deposits.

The Industrial Minerals Milling Section of the Mineral Processing Division has been engaged for the past three years in a study of the separation of minerals, by means of electronic sorting equipment, on the basis of their colour. Considerable knowledge of the subject has been built up. Because the object of this study is application as a means of beneficiation, a number of examples of the separations achieved are presented. Introduction T 0 the mineral collector, the colour of a mineral may be pleasing, even fascinating; to the mineralogist, student or professional, it may also be practical. It serves, to some extent, as a distinguishing feature in many minerals, and helps to fix with reasonable accuracy the identity of a few. It may now become a useful tool of the mineral dresser. The idea of using a difference in colour as a means of separation of one mineral from another is not new. Hand sorting dates back to ancient time. However, the means by which this can be done mechanically was developed only during the past decade. "This study was conducted to establish the possible application of bioleaching in the pilot scale to recover valuable metals from the sulfidic tailings of Golgohar Iron Mine (Kerman, Iran). Using bioleaching processes, solvent extraction and sulfide precipitation recovery of valuable metals including, copper, cobalt and nickel from the tailing was investigated. The results showed that the optimum pH and temperature conditions relative to the bioleaching step was 1.5 and 45°C. The extraction of the metals from the low grade polymetal resource with complex mineralogy is very important from economic, environmental and technical point of views. Moreover, the proposed method has some advantages from energy saving, tailing management and creating added value from waste materials aspects.INTRODUCTION The growing demand for base metals and strategic such as: copper, nickel and cobalt as well as high-grade resource depletion has caused them, the mining industry to extract metals from low-grade resources and driven by complex mineralogy (Xie et al., 2005). Economic extraction of metals with low grade sources requires low-cost and efficient processing methods. A source with enormous potential for metals in future, secondary sources, such as: tailings mineral industries which the lack of appropriate technology and the high cost of processing weren't recoverable with previous procedures in the past. But it is possible that with develop new and efficient technologies have the economic exploitation ability. Recovery of metals from tailings resources is very important not only in terms of precious metals but also in terms of reducing environmental problems (due to heavy metals). The metals of copper, nickel and cobalt are mainly like sulfide compounds in the nature, usually for their recovery, first they make ore with flotation method to obtain the sulfide concentrate that containing valuable metals. then for the metal production, it will be melt and purification. Due to the environmental aspects, technical problems in the recovery of base metals from low grade ore and mixes, the presence of small reserves, in the past three decades they pay much attention to the use of hydrometallurgical processes for the recovery of base metals from these resources. These processes are classified according to the solver agent to leaching sulfates, chlorides, nitrates and amines (Hackl, 1995). Early, chloride leaching under oxidation condition in acidic or alkaline solutions was recognized the best process to produce sulfide concentrates. But then the basic processes sulfates was considered as the superior process because of being easier, a better understanding of the chemistry of leaching and recovery of base metals, especially copper from the environment easier sulfate solution with an organic solvent extraction and electro winning. The bioleaching is shown its ability on a commercial scale of low-grade sulfide minerals and ore that because of environmental reasons, the possibility of melting is not possible to them. The existing industrial base factories are based on primarily on the bioleaching and pressure leaching and recovery of cathode copper sulfate solution by extraction with organic solvents (SX) and electrowinning (EW) (Wang, 2005). Preliminary analysis has shown that valuable elements such as copper, nickel and cobalt are in the float flotation unit. Hence the plan to extract these metals from the wet tailing stream has been done."

"The future of the uranium industry in Canada during the next twenty years will be very dependent on political and social issues on a world scale. Technology, as such, will tend to be of lesser importance. Nonetheless, some technical changes can be anticipated.This paper deals with milling of uranium ore, leaving further processing and nuclear power production to specialists in these fields. An attempt has been made to look at uranium production technology in Canada in relation to that in other countries, and to draw interference regarding future changes that seem probable in the Canadian context. In particular, recent advances in mill equipment are considered.The chemistry of uranium and its relatively low concentration in most ores has been responsible for a completely hydrometallurgical approach to mill processing, and this should continue. In spite of little commercial success to date, pre-concentration of lower grade ores will be researched further in order that these ores can compete with higher grade deposits in Canada.The discovery of the relatively high-grade ores of the Athabasksa region will undoubtedly influence choice of mill processes and equipment. The potential effect on innovations is discussed"

IT can be truly stated that no branch of the engineering industry has progressed more rapidly in the last few years than that of welding. In spite of depressed economic conditions, this industry has continued to advance along scientific lines, replacing the old hit-and-miss method of welding. The development work is intensive, and increased activity is recorded in every sphere of the industry, new applications of existing methods, together with new processes, being added to those already proved in practice. The general acceptance of the welding processes can be measured by their utilization as a manufacturing tool in the metal-working industries. Many manufacturers have partially or wholly adopted welding. These concerns have on their staffs welding specialists, design engineers, and metallurgists, who are qualified to design and supervise the manufacture of welded parts, at a considerable saving to the purchaser. The steady, consistent, and sound growth of welding is based upon investigation of the fundamentals of the various processes, together with their proper application. The classification of welding processes varies in different countries. In Europe, they are divided into two main classes, namely, heterogenous and autogenous. In the former, the parts are joined, as a ruler without melting the edges, and by using as filler a metal different from that of the object welded. Such welding differs from soldering and brazing in that higher temperatures are required to effect the union of the parts. In autogenous welding, the parts are joined by melting of the edges, with or without the addition of a material similar to the parts being joined.

It is the purpose of this paper to present an initial report on the construction and operation of the Fluo-Solid roaster at the property of Campbell Red Lake Mines, Ltd., Balmertown, Ontario. The roaster prepares for subsequent cyanidation the bulk flotation concentrate obtained from four hundred tons per day of gold ore. The mill flow-sheet 'includes jigging and amalgamation; flotation; cyanidation of flotation tailing; and roasting followed by cyanidaition of flotation concentrate plus amalgamation tailing. Overall mill recovery for the year 1950 was 90.2 per cent. Recovery possible by straight cyanidation of this ore would not exceed 80 per cent. The ore contains considerable arsenopyrite and pyrrhotite as well as pyrite, with lesser quantities of nickel, zinc, and copper minerals. The mineralization is for the most part extremely fine. The roaster first went into operation on August 7th, 1949, and at the end of 1950 it had roasted 10,916 tons of concentrate. The average recovery of gold from calcine during that period was 94.86 per cent in the primary stage of calcine cyanidation. The average assay of calcine residue from primary cyanidation for the entire period was 0.37 oz. per ton. Both laboratory tests and plant metallurgical balance calculations indicate a further recovery of approximately 10 per cent of this 0.37 oz. when the calcine residue is again cyanided, in the flotation tailing cyanidation circuit.

"Abstract -The East Bull Lake gabbro-anorthosite intrusion is one of several Early Proterozoic layered matie intrusions occurring along the Southern Province - Superior Province boundary in the Elliot Lake - Sudbury region, Ontario. The base of the East Bull Lake intrusion comprises abundant plagioclase cumulates (Leucogabbronorite Zone) hosting two distinct styles of sulfide mineralization: (1) disseminated magmatic sulfides, and (2) disseminated to massive, structurally controlled sulfides. Both types of mineralization are enriched in Pd, Pt, Au, Cu and Ni. The host rocks to the sulfide mineralization display a range of interesting features including nodular textures, dendritic­ pegmatitic matie pods, inclusion-rich zones (pyroxenite, anorthosite and granitic inclusions) and mag­ matie breccias. Disseminated chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and pentlandite occur in concentrations of up to lOOJo within erratically distributed gossan pods near the base of the intrusion. The sulfides were originally precipitated from intercumulus liquids, but were subsequently recrystallized and locally remobilized along fractures during the major period of metamorphism and deformation that af­ fected the East Bull Lake intrusion. The base- and precious-metal tenor of the structurally controlled sulfides can be explained by extensive remobilization and reconcentration of the pre-existing magmatic sulfides in the vicinity of a major shear zone. Both styles of sulfide mineralization locally contain ppm abundances of POE + Au and are generally Pd- and Cu-rich, although both display large variations in Pd :Pt and Cu:Ni ratios. The magmatic sulfides are more strongly enriched in POE and contain up to 1470 ppm Pd in 100% sulfide. Severa! factors, including source characteristics, magmatic processes (crustal assimilation, fractional crystallization) and post-magmatic inter­ action with hydrous fluid, have influenced the present distribution of POE, Cu and Ni in the East Bull Lake intrusion .The magmatic sulfide occurrences from the East Bull Lake intrusion compare favorably with marginal-type deposits from rift-related intrusions (Noril'sk-Talnakh region, Siberia; Duluth Com­ plex, U.S.A.) in terrns of their distribution, but are most similar to reef-type POE deposits with respect to their base- and precious-metal geochemistry. The combination of high POE tenors and large tonnages that is observed for the POE-Cu-Ni mineralization from the East Bull Lake intrusion suggests that a good potential exists for the presence of economie concentrations of Pd, Pt, Au, Cu and Ni in the intrusion. On a global scale, the East Bull Lake intrusion is part of a suite of Early Proterozoic plutons, many of which contain significant volumes of stratiform and/or marginal­ type POE-Cu-Ni mineralization. The East Bull Lake intrusion is also one of the oldest mineralized intrusions derived from a sub-Superior Province mantle source region that has given rise to several significant magmatic POE-Cu-Ni deposits during the period 2.5 Ga to 1.1 Ga."
