(Pittsburg Meeting, March, 1910.) AT the Pittsburg meeting of the Institute, May, 1879, I made the first announcement in America of the results obtained by Sidney Gilchrist Thomas and Percy C. Gilchrist, ill their efforts to eliminate phosphorus in the manufacture of steel in the Bessemer converter and the open-hearth furnace.1 The first published statement in an American newspaper was a reprint of the first Thomas-Gilchrist paper, 2 which I sent to J. C. Bayles, at that time the editor. At the suggestion of many friends who were present at the Pittsburg meeting, and others who are cognizant of the beginnings of the process in the United States, and for the information of the younger generation of the iron and steel fraternity, I have thought it eminently proper that the history of the process in detail should be given where I made the first announcement and where the process has had its largest development. During my residence in England, from April, 1873, to February, 1879, and as a member of the Iron and Steel Institute since 1874, I was present at many of its meetings during those years. At nearly -every meeting the burden of discussion was the question of the use of pig-iron containing phosphorus in the. manufacture of steel by the Bessemer or the open-hearth process. At a time when water resource planning is proceeding on a continental scale, such as the proposed $100 billion North American Water and Power Alliance, which would redistribute water among three nations, including seven provinces of Canada, 35 of the United States, and three States of Mexico, the selection of a single river basin for study may seem to require an apologia. None is offered because of ( 1) the magnitude of the Indus , itself a part of the great Indo-Gangetic Plain drainage system, with Himalayan sources, upon which the thickly populated northern sub-continent of Indo-Pakistan depends for agriculture and hydroelectic power; (2) the extraordinary problems created by dismemberment of the world?s largest irrigation system through legal beheading of the Eastern Waters under the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960; and (3) the herculean effort to contain the twin encroachments of waterlogging and salinization in a basin which faces a shortage of fresh water. The British irrigation system of barrages and canals on the Indus was a venture admirable in conception. Unfortunately, it is now a legacy burdened with unwanted consequences, due to interference with the hydrological regimen, particularly the rise of water table occasioned by leakage.

Contributions made by mining have played a much more significant role in the development of civilization than is generally conceded by historians or recognized by ordinary citizens. In modern society, mined products pervade all industry and the lives of all civilized people. Early man relied largely on stone and ceramics, and eventually metals, to fashion tools and weapons. Civilization was advanced by discoveries such as abundant supplies of high-quality flint in northern France and southern England and firesetting to break rock. Middle Eastern cultures flourished not only because of agriculture and trade, but also because of mineral-rich deposits nearby. The earliest miners date back perhaps to 300,000 BC; their quest was for nonmetallic minerals (chert, flint, obsidian) suitable for utensils and eventually for weapons. Other rocks and minerals (ceramics, clay, salt, meteoric iron) attracted the miners for jewelry, cosmetics, construction materials, food seasoning, and coinage. At first, their excavations were confined to the surface, either pits or placers. But by about 40,000 BC, mine workings had been extended underground as short adits or shafts, and by 8000 BC as elaborate interconnected openings 300 ft (90 m) in depth. This paper and four other papers on the MEQB Regional Copper-Nickel Study, presented today at the 1980 SME-AIME Fall Meeting are based on four years of extensive inter-disciplinary research and impact analysis supported largely by the Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources. This study produced over 180 technical reports, the results of which are summarized in an Executive Summary available from the Minnesota State Planning Agency, St. Paul, Minnesota. Those wishing to examine the many scientific, engineering, environmental, social or economic issues addressed by the study are encouraged to obtain a copy of the executive summary. The executive summary includes a bibliography of all technical reports produced by the Regional Copper-Nickel Study and describes the five-volume, 26 chapter Regional Copper-Nickel Study Report.

"Improving the safety of underground openings and optimizing ground support systems requires reliable ground characterization. This includes understanding the joints, discontinuities, and rock strength. Joint information can be obtained from borehole cameras, but measuring in-situ rock strength is very difficult. Use of borehole probes can be an ideal and efficient way to meet this requirement. This paper discusses the development of the Rock Strength Borehole Probe (RSBP) and presents the preliminary laboratory/field test. This device can be an accurate, flexible, quick, non-disruptive, and cost-effective alternative to estimate the rock strength inside boreholes in underground mines and tunnels. In addition, the scratch testing procedure in the laboratory by means of a newly developed miniature linear cutting machine is explained. Based on the results of these tests, two equations are developed to estimate the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and Brazilian tensile strength (BTS) of the sedimentary/metamorphic rocks. These equations, are based on testing 27 different sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks by full-scale scratch tests, including the cutting tests by a miniature disc. The results show a good correlation between the normal force and the compressive strength of sedimentary rock if the depth of the scratch is known. No significant correlation was observed for igneous rocks, due to the impacts of grain size.INTRODUCTIONEstimated rock mass properties are essential input for geomechanical studies and stability analysis for any structure constructed in or with rock. The availability of geological information is the crucial component of rock mass classification. One of the important parameters in evaluating rock mass properties is the intact rock strength. This parameter is usually measured by testing the core samples, obtained from exploration boreholes. These samples are subsequently tested in geomechanics laboratories. The test results offer limited information about the rock at the few boring locations despite all the efforts and costs. In addition, these results may not necessarily be representative of the behavior of the rock in the field as the test cannot provide the insitu condition of the ground."

The Grasberg porphyry copper-gold deposit of P.T. Freeport Indonesia, Co. is located in the Jayawijaya Mountains of Irian Jaya, Indonesia approximately six km west northwest of Puncak Jaya, the highest point on the island of New Guinea. Disseminated mineralization is confined to the Grasberg intrusive complex, a multiphase intrusion of dioritic to monzonitic composition which intruded tightly folded carbonate rocks of the Tertiary Faumai and Ainod formations. The high tonnage and grade of the deposit (1 X 109 tonnes at 1.4 % copper and 1. 8 ppm gold) appear to result from a succession of coincident intrusive and mineralizing events about three million years ago. This paper will focus on the history and character of these events.

Le drainage minier acide (DMA) provenant de la circulation des eaux à travers les rejets miniers sulfureux est sans doute le principal problème environnemental auquel est confrontée l?industrie minière. Afin de prévenir les problèmes environnementaux reliés au DMA, on doit restreindre la présence de l?une et/ou de l?autre des principales composantes menant à la production d?acide, soit l?eau, l?air et les sulfures. Pour ce faire, différentes techniques ont été proposées au cours des dernières années, dont la désulfuration environnementale et les couvertures avec effets de barrière capillaire (CEBC). Dans ce papier, on propose d?utiliser ces deux techniques en combinaison. Ainsi, on produirait un rejet désulfuré à l?usine de traitement qui pourrait, par la suite, être utilisé comme matériau pour la couche de rétention d?eau de la CEBC. Dans un premier temps, on présente les résultats d?une étude de laboratoire qui montre qu?il est possible de désulfurer les rejets de concentrateur à l?aide de la flottation non sélective jusqu?à l?obtention d?un résidu non générateur d?acide. Par la suite, des essais en colonne ont permis de démontrer qu?il est possible de limiter la production de DMA d?un résidu sulfureux à l?aide d?une CEBC dont la couche fine est constituée de résidus désulfurés. Des prédictions théoriques estiment même que la présence de sulfures résiduels dans la fraction désulfurée utilisée comme matériau pour la rétention d?eau peut avoir un effet bénéfique en réduisant la migration d?oxygène. En effet, les sulfures contenus dans la couche de rétention d?eau peuvent consommer l?oxygène qui tente de migrer vers le bas et, ainsi, réduire les flux d?oxygène qui atteignent les rejets réactifs.

RÉSUMÉ La conception des fosses ainsi que l'évaluation des ressources géologiques et des réserves minières sont désormais réalisées entièrement à l'aide d'outils informatiques spécialisés. Cependant, plusieurs analyses, pourtant essentielles à l'évaluation de la viabilité du projet, sont réalisées en parallèle sans véritable optimisation ni synergie avec l'ensemble des données disponibles. Cet article présente deux approches permettant d'intégrer certains types d'analyses aux modèles de blocs miniers. Ces approches permettent de quantifier la broyabilité du massif rocheux ainsi que d'étudier la stabilité des pentes minières à même les outils d'optimisation et de planification minières. Cette méthode permet dès l'étude de faisabilité d'un projet minier de maximiser les données disponibles, menant ainsi à une approche plus intégrée en conception minière. De plus, ces approches sont flexibles et permettent d'évaluer rapidement plusieurs scénarios, tout en laissant la possibilité de bonifier le modèle et de revoir la conception tout au long du projet minier.

"An inverse design method is developed to obtain the optimal cooling conditions for the continuous quenching of precipitation hardenable sheet alloys to achieve the required yield strength. The yield strength of a precipitation hardenable alloy is obtained by allowing solute to enter into solid solution at a proper temperature and rapidly cooling the alloy to retain the solute in the solid solution. An aging process may be needed for the alloy to develop the final mechanical properties.The objective of the design is to optimize the quenching process so that the required yield strength can be achieved. With the inverse design method, the required yield strength is specified and the sheet thermal profile at the exit of the quenching chamber can also be specified. The conjugate gradient method is used to optimize the cooling boundary condition during quenching. The adjoint system is developed to compute the gradient of the objective functional. An aluminum sheet quenching problem is presented to demonstrate feasibility of the inverse design method.IntroductionQuenching is a critical step in metal production to achieve desired material properties, such as yield strength, hardness, etc., for precipitation hardenable alloys. In most cases, rapid quenching from the solution heat treatment temperature is necessary to obtain the required material properties, but rapid quenching may cause other problems such as excessive distortions of the quenched materials.In a solution heat treatment, the alloy is heated to a suitable temperature, held at that temperature to allow the soluble alloying elements to enter into the solid solution, and cooled rapidly (quenching) to retain the alloy elements in the solid solution. An aging process, which controls precipitation of fine particles at room (natural aging) or elevated temperatures (artificial aging), is generally followed after the quenching process to develop the final mechanical properties of the heat treated alloys."

Typical depressants for selective reverse flotation of iron oxides from complex silicates do not generally show high levels of efficiency. Therefore, as a hot topic, there are several ongoing investigations in this area. The main aim of this paper is exploring the potential of using humic acid (HA) as a depressant in reverse cationic flotation of hematite from complex silicates. For such a process, the wettability and flotation behaviour of pure minerals (hematite and silicates) was investigated at pH 10 in the presence of HA and cationic collector. Adsorption mechanism of HA on these minerals was measured by zeta-potential and FTIR. Results of flotation tests showed that at the lower concentrations of HA, selective separation of silicates from hematite is beneficial, where the floatability of amphibole was higher than pyroxene. A higher separation efficiency of hematite through reverse flotation was observed in the presence of amphibole, in comparison with the presence of pyroxene. Wettability studies showed that HA has a significant effect on reducing the hydrophobicity of treated minerals with the collector. The adsorption, ZPC and FTIR test results indicated that HA was adsorbed on both silicates and hematite. However, the absorption intensity onto hematite was much higher than silicates. It was found that the adsorption mechanism of HA on hematite takes place through both strong H-bonding and ligand exchange. As an alternative to the conventional flotation method, there has been continual research in an effort to enhance base metal ores and combustibles recovery using ultrasonics. These studies however were largely limited to the pre-treatment of ores for the removal of surface contaminants while the effect of ultrasonics on the bubble and pulp-phase interactions remained somewhat unexplored. Noting this deficiency, this study aimed to investigate the mechanistic effect of an ultrasonic field in an impeller less flotation cell specifically focusing on the bubble-particle interaction dynamics. A lab-scale flotation cell (capacity 1 litre) was designed, involving a vertically oriented ultrasonic probe (20 kHz, rated at 1.2 kW) and operated in the output power range from 1 to 20% with continuous liquid recirculation. Particle suspension was achieved by the combined action of recirculation and ultrasonic pulses. Interactions of coarse size glass ballotini particles (D32 = 314 μm) with bubbles (< 1 mm diameter) in the presence of a surfactant were studied, using high-speed imaging. Application of an ultrasonic pulse in the aqueous medium resulted in the generation of numerous microbubbles which increased with increasing input power and duration of the ultrasonic pulse time. Such periodic pulses introduced at a high level of turbulence in the pulp phase facilitated adequate bubble-particle contacts. Microbubbles played a key role in forming particle clusters which were observed to be floatable even in the absence of any carrier bubbles. When carrier bubbles were introduced, some of these particle clusters attached to the bubble surface and conveniently floated. It was noted that a favourable state of bubble-particle interaction was achievable to produce stable bubble-particles aggregates by suitably controlling the input power and period of the applied ultrasonic pulse. "Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) measurements were taken at Tronox’s Westvaco Trona mine in Wyoming. Both shift-average and real-time monitoring using Elf pumps and Airtec analyzers, were used. The mine’s underground transportation fleet consists of more than 250 diesel-powered vehicles. A vehicle monitoring log tracked fleet usage during the test; logged data consisted of vehicle type, direction of travel, and time. The log was used in analysis to determine the DPM spread rate, of normally operating equipment, in the different entries with respect to vehicle location. Airflow velocity measurements at the stations were taken during the survey. The survey results also identified vehicles with higher emission rates. An ECOM gas and a MAHA DPM analyzer, both located in the mine’s underground emission shop, were used to obtain various vehicle emission rates. The correlation of the workshop and field measurements was investigated with regard to the machine activity, fuel usage and atmospheric conditions. The results were used to identify and execute a ventilation project to reroute 45% of diesel shop air back to intake entries, by interlocking an automated door and a regulator. The result is reduced DPM downstream. INTRODUCTION DPM has been classified as a potential occupational carcinogen by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) rule governing DPM exposures in metal and nonmetal mines cites total carbon (TC), a summation of elemental carbon (EC) and organic carbon (OC) obtained by NIOSH Method 5040, as a surrogate for determining DPM exposures (Noll, 2006). MSHA personnel use the 1973 sampling criteria outlined by the American Conference of Government Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) for collecting compliance-based respirable and inhalation samples in metal/nonmetal mines. Instrumentation developments are allowing improved real time monitoring of ventilation parameters. DPM is within the aerodynamic particle size range of the samplers used for respirable and inhalable dust measurements. If a sampler used by MSHA to collect inhalable or respirable dust samples in underground metal/nonmetal mines was used to collect DPM, both the DPM and mine ore dust would accumulate on the sample filter (Noll, 2006). To comply with the requirement and lower the DPM exposure, mines are implementing a variety of control technologies such as emission based maintenance programs where adjustments or repairs are performed on the vehicles (McGinn, 2000)."

"Investigations of flotation characteristics of Lumwana and Kansanshi ores using formulated frothers were carried out. Of the six frothers tested, two came from the alcohol family, two from the glycol family and last two were formulated products. The initial work involved determining the optimum mesh of grind and frother dosage for Lumwana and Kansanshi ores. Further work involved carrying out surface tension, bubble size and froth stability measurements. Finally, water recovery tests were conducted at Lumwana and Kansanshi mine sites. For froth stability tests, six frothers were tested on a two-phase (water–air) system using the Bikerman column flotation cell, while water recovery tests were conducted using a total of seven frothers, including the standards for each plant. The results of the testwork showed that (i) although a stable froth is essential for optimum recovery of valuable minerals, a higher molecular weight frother, like Dowfroth 250, caused poor selectivity when used on fine ores and (ii) a lower molecular weight frother was suited for Lumwana ore, while a mid to higher molecular weight formulated product was suitable for Kansanshi sulphide ore. Firstly, froth stability tests were conducted using six frothers, two from the glycol family (Dowfroth 200 and Dowfroth 250), two from alcohol family (MIBC and pine oil) and other two from the formulated family (Betafroth 20 and Betafroth 245), at the University of Cape Town’s Centre for Mineral Research (CMR) laboratories. Froth formation and stability measurements were conducted using the Bikerman column flotation cell."

Blasthole sampling practices were investigated at the Erdenet copper and molybdenum mine in Mongolia to address grade reconciliation issues. The goal of the study was to determine if the particle size distribution (PSD) of blasthole cuttings was accurately reflected in the samples. The study additionally examined if the measured grade was related to the particle size of samples. Using a sector sampler specifically designed to collect samples for the study, six large samples were collected from three blocks following a specialized protocol. Each sample was split into nine size fractions, ranging from larger than 12 mm to smaller than 63 µm. Copper and molybdenum grades were determined for each of the size fractions. For comparison, nine samples were collected from the same blocks following the standard mine sampling protocol. These samples were also split into the same nine size fractions. As with the other samples, grades were determined for each of the size fractions. The results showed that the PSD in the samples collected following the standard operating procedure varied significantly from sample to sample. This variation was much lower for the samples collected following the specialized protocol. Loss of fines was also indicated in the standard mine sampling process. These observations suggest that the standard sampling protocol did not consistently capture the PSD. The copper and molybdenum grades increased as particle size decreased, regardless of the sampling protocol used. This observation underscores the importance of the PSD of a sample being representative of the true PSD. Given the low number of samples in the study, it is not a strong conclusion that the standard sampling protocol captures the PSD inconsistently. However, it could be taken as a caution. On the other hand, the grade versus PSD relationship is more certain, given that it was observed regardless of the sampling method used.

The Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA) (WHS Act; DMIRS, 2020) and associated Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 (WA) (WHS Regulations; DMIRS, 2022), supporting guidance materials and other laws, such as the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth) (SD Act), have imposed new duties on every person or business conducting an undertaking (PCBU) in Western Australia, including those operating in the mining industry. These laws and associated guidance materials combine to require owners, operators and contractors to discharge positive duties and better report and manage psychosocial hazards in the workplace. For mine operators, there is a positive duty to not only identify and eliminate hazards relating to psychological harm, sexual harassment and gendered violence at work, but to also report incidents to the safety regulator that could result in serious harm, even while internal and police investigations are ongoing. Traditional mines safety teams are navigating the evolving frontier of psychological and gendered safety as the duties relating to psychosocial safety and sexual harassment at work continue to expand. This paper will review the legal obligations on PCBUs to conduct internal investigations into critical psychosocial incidents and gendered violence on mines, whilst balancing the demands and sensitivities of investigations by the safety regulator and police. There are emerging approaches to safety investigations that can aid PCBUs in managing their investigations of psychosocial incidents and gendered violence, including trauma-informed investigation techniques, collaboration with psychological experts and the use of limited legal privilege. Well managed and sensitive investigations can foster trust amongst workers, result in improved incident reporting by workers and lead to enhanced safety outcomes for the resources industry whilst preserving the legal positions of involved PCBUs. Specifically traversing the new duty to consult, cooperate and coordinate, this practical session will arm mine managers, safety professionals and human resources professionals, from mine operators and mining contractors alike, with tools and processes to bring to safety investigations, particularly on residential mine sites.

"The characterization of reagent-mineral interactions in flotation systems of finely intergrown ores holds difficult challenges for the applicability of standard techniques like Hallimond tube tests and contact angle experiments or renders them impossible due to a lack of sufficient samples in terms of quality and quantity. This disadvantage may not apply to more sophisticated techniques, but these often do not work in an aqueous environment. We present the utilization of an atomic force microscope with a hydrophobic colloidal probe to characterize the wettabilities of individual mineral domains of an ore sample, while additional spectral information is gathered by Raman spectroscopy. The exemplary ore sample investigated is mainly containing cassiterite and quartz, therefore the reference measurements like Hallimond tube tests and contact angle experiments were carried out with this binary system as a comparison. The focus of the study lies in the correlation of data gathered by the atomic force microscope and the Raman spectrometer with data from standard techniques. Finally, the applicability of the colloidal probe atomic force microcopy technique for reagent-mineral investigations is critically evaluated.INTRODUCTIONThe focus of this paper is the application of colloidal probe atomic force microscopy (CP-AFM) for theinvestigation of reagent-mineral interactions on a binary system of cassiterite and quartz. This and similar concepts using hydrophobic AFM probes have been applied by multiple authors (Rudolph and Peuker, 2014a; Rudolph and Peuker, 2014b; Wada et al., 2017; Xie et al., 2017). The hydrophobic interaction is the main interacting mechanism for the hydrophobic colloidal probe with hydrophobic sample surfaces and the long range attractive component has been accounted to nanobubbles on the interacting surfaces (Yakubov et al., 2000). More detailed information on nanobubbles are available in two reviews compiled by Attard and Hampton (Attard, 2003; Hampton and Nguyen, 2010). This paper is based on the work by Rudolph and Peuker comparing different AFM based measuring concepts, additionally gathering data with Raman spectroscopy and correlating results of microflotation and CPAFM measurements (Rudolph and Peuker, 2014a; Rudolph and Peuker, 2014b)."

"Dynamic centrifuge tests were performed on unimproved and improved soil with soil-cement column models. The reinforcing effect of isolated soil-cement columns for reducing liquefaction potential and ground deformation in improved soil were investigated. This paper presents the observed acceleration, pore pressure, and settlement responses under an earthquake base motion for both unimproved and improved soil models. In addition, lateral reinforcing effects of soil-cement columns were also investigated in terms of site stiffening effects and the increasing natural frequency of improved soil. The test results show that the soil-cement columns were rather ineffective in preventing liquefaction triggering in improved soil and in significantly reducing the magnitude of the resulting soil settlement compared to the model with unimproved soil profile. Furthermore, the predicted natural frequency of the improved soil profile estimated using existing design equations is shown to be significantly higher than the observed natural frequency inferred from centrifuge tests results. These design equations assume shear strain compatibility between the columns and the surrounding soil. Instead, the shear reinforcing mechanisms of stiff columns are considered effective for reducing the seismic stresses and strains, and thereby reducing liquefaction potential in the enclosed saturated silty soils (Baez 1995, Adalier and Elgamal 2004, Mitchell 2008)."

Rib brows present a significant safety hazard in underground coal mines in the United States. To address this issue, researchers at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and Missouri University of Science and Technology (MST) are developing a practical tool to assess both the potential of rib brow formation and the stability of any formed brows. As part of this effort, a monitoring study was conducted to assess the potential for rib brow formation in coal pillar ribs. This study was conducted in a room-and-pillar coal mine where coal pillar ribs are prone to developing rib brows. Although no rib brows formed in the instrumented pillar, data from monitoring and visual observations provided valuable insights into the loading mechanisms impacting the instrumented pillar. These findings helped identify factors that may reduce rib brow formation, including the cavability of the roof in mined areas, the applied rib support, the strength of rock partings, and the overall integrity of the coal seam. The scientific findings published in the case study aid in assessing the potential of brow formation, offering additional evidence for the need to improve rib control methods in underground coal mines.

"Researchers at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) are investigating the unique pillar stability issues associated with room-and-pillar mining in dipping underground stone mines. The objective of this paper is to study the post-blast impact in and around a pillar, using microseismic monitoring. To accomplish this, a microseismic monitoring system has been installed at a dipping underground stone mine in central Pennsylvania. The microseismic system is comprised of 18 uniaxial accelerometers; 12 sensors are installed in a single pillar and 6 sensors are installed in the surrounding area. More than 4,400 microseismic events have been located near the study pillar following the blasts. The number of triggers increased significantly following the blast, and the trigger rate in the first five minutes was 60 triggers per minute and three triggers per minute over the next three hours. The processing of high-quality triggers indicated a large number of low magnitude microseismic events near the blasting face. The event locations were identified more accurately by using a 3D-velocity model, with an average 9 m expected location accuracy for this array calculated using the system data. Seismicity was absent from the core of the pillar, but significant numbers of events were found following cutter roof along a crosscut as it was developed as well as in the location of a rib failure event. Additionally, the events were located in the roof, showing high number of microseismic events within 0–10 m of the roof line compared to 10–30 m above the roof line.INTRODUCTIONGround control stability is essential to any mining operation for ensuring mineworker safety and health and preventing catastrophic failures of underground structures. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has conducted research in stone pillar design and has established fundamental pillar design guidelines for the underground stone industry, which resulted in the development of the S-Pillar program (Esterhuizen et al., 2011; Esterhuizen and Murphy, 2018). However, the data that makes up the S-Pillar database consists of shallow depth, flat-lying, single-level mining operations. Therefore, to expand this dataset and to develop guidelines for challenging conditions such as dipping and multi-level mines, NIOSH is currently conducting detailed pillar response investigations at mines with these characteristics. The study is being conducted using multiple research approaches, including seismic modeling and tomography, numerical modeling (Sears et al., 2019), stress monitoring, and LiDAR-based laser scanning (Slaker, Murphy, and Winfield, 2019). This paper discusses the findings from the microseismic monitoring system installed at the Pleasant Gap Mine, a steeply dipping underground limestone mine in central Pennsylvania."
