Analyses of accident records show that a better understanding of very basic strata control principles and practices, by production personnel, will improve worker safety. Workers, lack of knowledge, with respect to aspects of strata control, increases their exposure to such strata control risks. The primary objective of the Safety in Mines Research Advisory Committee (SIMRAC) project 02 02 07 was to develop tools for the transfer of strata control knowledge. Four such tools were developed, three of which focused on illiterate underground mine team members who are not yet able to take advantage of the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) learning process (see project outcomes 2, 3 and 4 below). The tools were designed to equip these workers with sufficient knowledge and ability to work safely underground until such time as they can take advantage of the MQA system. Project outcomes: 1 A four-minute video using animation to illustrate the causes and prevention of falls of roof in South African collieries. 2 Software to demonstrate the capability of reconstructing, interactively, accident scenes and actions that have taken place underground in stopes. 3 A strata control bridging course for illiterate mine team workers. 4 Small-scale wooden models that will be used to design life-size mock-up facilities to assist with the above mentioned bridging course. 5 Workshops and presentations to demonstrate the outcomes 1to 4 above.

This article is part of a presentation Strauss made Dec. 3, 1988 at the sixth annual American Mining Hall of Fame (AMHofF) banquet in Tucson, AZ. At the banquet, the Mining Club of the Southwest honored Strauss by naming him the 1988 recipient to the AMHofF. (Industry newswatch, page 6). Introduction In the last two decades, there have been two previous periods of sharply rising copper prices. One was in 1973-74; the other in 1979-80. In both cases, a short period of high copper prices was followed by steep and prolonged periods of low prices. In the language of the market analyst, the high prices were called spikes. Is it likely, then, that three or four years from now the present price of copper will show up as a spike in the charts? There are substantial differences between the current position and the markets of 1973-74 and 1979-80. In 1973-74, US copper prices were subject to government-imposed price ceilings of $0.60 per lb through early December, 1973. These were increased to $0.68 per lb through May, 1974. Meanwhile, mines outside the United States were free of restraint. Rising demand in London pushed the price above $1 per lb in the third quarter of 1973. In early April 1974, it reached a peak of $1.50 a lb. In May of that year, the US ceilings were removed and the domestic price began to rise. What were the causes of this price strength? While ceilings held the domestic price below the world market, domestic consumers acquired all the tonnage offered by US mines. Meanwhile, in the world market, buyers feared prolonged shortages. The Club of Rome had warned that world economic growth would be limited by impending depletion of mineral resources. There was al so concern about a copper cartel that might increase copper prices even more. In early 1974, at a special United Nations session, developing-country spokesmen warned the industrialized world to expect high commodity prices. Also adding to the concerns of copper buyers was the fear that when US wage contracts expired in mid-1974, protracted strikes might ensue. The combined effect of this atmosphere was that consumers accumulated large amounts of copper, far above their normal carry. By midsummer, the position changed radically. While some strikes did occur in the United States, they proved short-lived. The most significant development was a massive economic recession. The energy crisis was causing enormous dislocations in the world economy. Construction activities were sharply reduced and automobile sales plummeted. Public confidence was shaken. Copper sales fell precipitately as consumers decided to draw down their swollen inventories. The price came down too. In April 1974, the London price- as noted-was $1.50 per lb. By the end of the year, it was down to $0.57 per lb. In 1973-74, the copper price rise was fed by fears of shortages, cartels, and strikes. In 1979-80, the market rose on the strength of good demand plus political and military instability. The price rise was also fed by inflationary trends, exemplified by speculation in precious metals. Prior to this second spike in copper prices, the market had been depressed despite economic recovery. Despite reduced US output, copper production in the rest of the world was increasing. Though consumption was rising, surplus stocks reached unprecedented levels. At the end of 1977, the aggregate of stocks at the refineries and in the exchange warehouses was 1.5 Mt (1.67 million st). That was more than three months' shipments at then rates of consumption. In 1978, the statistical position improved. Shipments of refined copper that year were 8% greater than in 1977. The result was reduced visible stocks but -just as was to be the case in 1984-86 - the price remained depressed. In 1979, an even sharper drop in visible stocks occurred as shipments rose by another 4%. This time, though, the price responded. In December 1978, the price in current dollars had been less than $0.70 per lb. By the end of 1979, it was above $1 per lb. And in the first quarter of 1980, it averaged more than $1.20 per lb. Military and political developments were a factor. The hostage crisis in Iran was followed by the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. To many, it appeared that war might result if the Soviets pushed on into Pakistan. At the same time, speculation drove gold and silver prices to incredible levels. As silver prices rose above $40 per oz), copper above $1 per lb did not seem unreasonable. Then, in March 1980, the precious metals price boom collapsed. Copper prices also retreated, though not as much. In February 1980, the copperprice averaged $1.32 per lb. By December, it had dropped to $0.85 per lb. In 1981 and 1982, the decline continued. The present copper situation Why is the current situation different from these two previous episodes of high prices? First of all, today's inventories are far lower than they were in either 1974 or 1980, when the price declines began. The stocks at refineries and in exchange warehouses are substantially less than they were then. More significantly, consumers today have very limited holdings compared with stocks they carried in 1974 and 1980. Even if faced with a downturn in their own business, copper consumers will not be able to stay out of the market. To the extent they have any business at all, they will have to buy copper. And on the supply side, there is also a significant difference. The year 1988 has been unusual. US production is up sharply, responding to higher prices. But production is little changed in the rest of the Free World. Indeed, several of the major producing countries have mined less copper this year than in 1987 despite the prices increases. Peru has had labor problems that have cut its output. Zambia and Zaire suffer from shortages of expatriate technicians, not to mention spare parts. They also suffer from the failure to maintain equipment or perform adequate development. In Chile, the two largest mines, Chuquicamata and El Teniente, have not met their production targets. Chuquicamata is struggling with high arsenic content in its ore. And, in late 1987, severe rockbursts hampered operations at El Teniente. Particle beneficiation tests are often conducted to determine how the recovery of a key component of a particle mixture varies with overall product yield, i.e., the separation curve. The results can be misleading when an attempt is made to determine the effect of feed grade by comparing separation curves representing different feed grades or key component concentrations. This is a shortcoming of the conventional recovery versus yield diagram, which may not appear to be affected by feed concentration. To overcome this shortcoming, a method is presented for transforming and normalizing the recovery and yield coordinates so that the separation curves representing dif-ferent feed concentrations are directly comparable.

In mining the method of statistical tests is used by solving of problems, exposing to influence of random factors. Such problems are: rational selection of equipment set; co-ordination in time of different processes; interaction between some processes and kinds of works. Usually it is considered that Monte Carlo method proves its value in the first place in that problems, which allow theoretical-probabilistic description. Analysis of numerical solution of mining-economic problems shows that the method of statistical tests may be used successfully by solving of determinate problems, which are solved usually analytically or by the methods of mathematical programming. We are talking about the problems of optimal use of resources, expedient placing of equipment, effective use of investments, rational planning of stripping and extracting works, groups of mining enterprises and about different variants of transport problem. In the report possibility of the method use is studied at an example of typical technical-economic problems solving. By solving of these problems the variant of the method with uniform distribution of random quantity had been applied and built-in random number generator of visual modelling system VisSim had been used. By algorithms elaboration it seems very perspective to use combination of the Monte Carlo method with traditional methods of numerical solving of the problems (methods of linear, nonlinear and dynamic programming and so on). The minerals industry in Australia is currently regarded as the country's economic saviour; the bastion of economic security. As Fitzgerald (1974) stated, 'Australia's natural endowments in minerals are the envy of most countries of the world'. As a result the proposed new mineral developments are on a scale that hitherto in the sixties would have been completely un-envisaged. It is reported that Australia is poised on the verge of a 16 billion dollar mining-based investment boom: a boom that will see Australia dominate the energy export field, the mineral processing field, and create the 'coal dollar'. This growth scenario has many inherent dangers, and it is the authors' contention that these should be carefully considered before further development proceeds. Two of the major problems related to the mineral industry growth scenario are the predictability of the future metal market, and the energy cost of mining. The latter problem is the one discussed here. The mining-mineral processing industries in Australia currently use about 36 per cent of Australia's primary energy budget. This large energy input is dominated by two major industries, iron and steel and the rapidly developing a1uminium industry. These two combined use over 20 per cent of the total Australian energy budget. In an industry which is export oriented about 96 per cent as expressed in ex-mine value terms û much of the energy input is exported along with the product. The authors therefore urge that serious consideration by the mineral industry be given to the relatively high energy intensiveness of process operations, especially in respect of the aluminium industry.

"Commonly used anchor monitoring systems are mainly based on the use of anchor force meters. However, experience shows that the reliability of the display of force meters lowers over time. Other measurement and test methods like for example fibre bragg grating method require a comparison with an unloaded optical fibre and give only selective information about the bearing behavior. Moreover the obtained information has to be interpreted. In the following article, first measuring results of an anchor monitoring system based on measurements with optical fibre are presented. The new monitoring system is based on the Rayleigh technology and was used to test the load bearing behavior of the anchor grout body as well as for the evaluation of the grout body condition in concrete-damaging groundwater.INTRODUCTIONThe first fibre optic sensors came onto the market about three decades ago. Initially used as special solutions only in selected cases, now they have found use in almost all areas of technology, especially in areas, where electrical sensor systems reach their limits. The first application examples of spatially resolved fibre-optic sensors in the field of geotechnics have been in existence since the mid-1990s, in projects such as the assessment of the of radioactive repository location sites (Hurtig et al. 1994), for the monitoring of landfill sealing systems (Hurtig et al. 1995) or within the framework of the rehabilitation of mountain farming landscapes (Schreck et al. 1998).The company's first own works in the field of glass fibre measurement technology have been in existence since 1993. The first carried out projects were a monitoring at the Edertalsperre (Dietz et al. 2001), a monitoring with glass fibre tendon at a flood bridge in Carinthia as well as monitoring within the framework of the Storebælt crossing. In all cases, the structure was permanently monitored by means of individual-point measurements. Since 1993 various fibre-optic sensor solutions for geotechnical applications have been introduced to the market (Voet, Glötzl 1996, Hurtig et al. 1994)."

Spiral separators are commonly used to upgrade sand-sized particles in both the coal and mineral processing industries. Many plants utilize multiple stages of cleaning and/or scavenging spirals to improve recovery and/or final product grade. Field studies suggest, however, that the layout of industrial spiral circuits is often less than optimal. This oversight can usually be attributed to a failure by plant designers to consider fundamental process engineering rules that govern the layout of complex separation circuits. This article reviews some of these important rules as specifically applied to multistage spiral circuit design. Two industrial case studies, one involving the upgrading of heavy mineral sands and a second involving the cleaning of fine coal, are presented to illustrate the impact of good design protocols on spiral circuit performance.

The Federal Bureau of Mines conducted static tests at 2,500° F on 39 refractory compositions, and dynamic tests at [2,825°35° F] on 31 commercial refractory brick specimens to determine their resistance to corrosion and erosion by a slag similar in composition to that used in producing insulating mineral wool. The static tests showed fireclay, low-alumina compositions (<70 percent A1203), zircon, zirconia, SiC, and clay-bonded graphite refractories to be unsuitable. Dynamic test results indicated that magnesia and chromia compositions were superior to high-alumina compositions (=70 percent A1203) as a furnace lining for melting mineral wool. Data from these tests indicated that magnesia and chromia compositions with low RO/R203 mole ratios were more resis tant to attack by mineral wool slags than ones with high RO/R203 mole ratios.

THE relation of annealing temperature to conductivity of copper wire has been determined.1 Conductivity hard was 98.26 per cent. After a 10-min. heating at 200° C. it was 98.69. By annealing 10 min. at 300° C. a large increase, to 100.93, occurred. Maximum conductivity, 101.15, was attained after a 500° C. anneal; thereafter it decreased to 100.53 after a 950° C. anneal. If copper is gassed the decrease is much more than this. MATERIAL AND METHOD The work was done on high grade electrolytic copper, 99.942 per cent. copper-plus silver, silver 0.0008 per cent. It was hot-rolled to 3 in., then cold drawn to 0.080 in. The wire was cut into 25 5-ft. lengths and numbered 1 to 25 as cut. Four samples were tested hard. The others were wound into 5-in. diameter coils. For the 100° C. heating a coil was put into water, the water brought to boiling, and the wire kept at this temperature for 10 min. For the higher temperatures the coils were placed in envelopes of sheet copper, a little water added, and the envelopes sealed by folding over the edges twice, and hammering them together. This kept the air out very well. The envelope and wire were brought to the desired temperature; this was maintained for 10 min., then the whole was water-quenched.

Efficient enrichment of high-carbon low-grade mica stone coal containing vanadium is a key problem in the mineral processing field, and the mature beneficiation process is yet to be developed and applied. In this paper, a special mineral mica type of stone coal containing vanadium from Tongshan, Hubei Province, China was selected as the research object. Chemical analysis results show that this mineral contains V2O5 0.71%, SiO2 49.28%, C 13.44%, and CaO 6.26%. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) shows that vanadium generally exists in all kinds of mica minerals in 20 µm to 50 µm fractions. Mica stone coal containing vanadium must be ground to a particular fineness (approximately 45 µm). To reduce acid consumption during vanadium extraction from stone coal through acid leaching, a pretreatment process was proposed to enrich micas by using shaking table and flotation methods. A new combined technology process was implemented, resulting in a 0.96% improvement in the vanadium grade of raw materials in the succeeding process. Vanadium losses were controlled to 4.57% through the pre-concentration process, which reduced the burden of the subsequent procedure. The content of high acid consuming minerals was also diminished, such that approximately 6612 CNY was saved from producing 1 t V2O5. Therefore, stone coal containing vanadium should be pre-concentrated by using an appropriate combined process to reduce costs.

Drilling of a pier hole is accompanied with stress releasing in the surrounding soil and often with loosening of soil at the pier base. In effect the drilled piers are more deformable than driven piles of comparable dimension. The bearing performance of a pier may be considerably improved by properly executed base grouting. Various techniques of base grouting are used; many of them were described by Bruce (1986). The grouting devices are often placed within the pier. Alternatively the soil at or under the base is treated by cement or chemical grout. Preloading of the base subsoil by use of a special grouting cell is considered as the most effective way. Treatment of the ground below pier base with cement or chemical grout may be also useful. It may be performed immediately after the pier construction or during service, as a measure for increasing the pier capacity.

Development of Cost-Efficient Environmentally Sound Technology for Enhanced Gold Recovery from Rebellious Gold-Containing Raw Materials Study of biochemical leaching performances in gold-bearing sulfide minerals processing enabled to develop environmentally sound technology of enhanced gold recovery from rebellious gold-containing raw materials. It was found that the ?-10 IMO bacteria activity contributes to increasing system oxygen concentrations and incrementing in rates of oxygen delivery onto surface of gold-bearing minerals. Bacteria activity products, ie, amino acids (?), support the formation of such heterocomplexes as [A-Au-CN]- , providing additional gold recovery into solutions. Technological properties of proposed bacteria solutions were studied. It was found that the proposed bacteria inoculants are capable to growing directly in process of raw materials leaching within a large pH range of media containing cyanides and thiosulfates. They oxidise the sulfur to the sulfate, as well as the antimony (III) and arsenic (III) sulfides to the pentads. For the first time, the hydrophobic cell properties, metabolites emulsifying efficiency, adsorption properties, wetting ability, surface tension and electro-kinetic potential of new bacteria strain solutions were studied as compared with chemical solutions. It was found that the proposed bacteria inoculants reduce surface tension at the solvent-mineral and solvent-concentrate phase boundaries. All aforementioned effects enhance mass transfer processes efficiency. IR-spectroscopy of new bacteria strain culture liquid allowed identifying available amino acids which substantially contribute to heterocomplex anion [A-Au-CN]- formation. Active involvement of heterotrophic bacteria in gold dissolving processes was identified. It was shown that the structure of metals complexes is substantially modified at intensive pulp agitation and during long-term storage. Fractional order reaction in biochemical and chemical gold leaching was identified. It evidences that the gold and impurity metals dissolving processes advance in synchronism. The both processes are running in diffusion zone. Biochemical leaching has advantages over chemical leaching, ie&nbsp;it provides enhanced rates of precious metals dissolving, improved gold recovery by 20&nbsp;-&nbsp;30 per cent, decreased cyanide consumption by 50 per cent. At the same time it allows to decontaminate dangerous substances contained in productive solutions produced in rebellious gold-containing raw materials processing. Basic parameters of flotation concentrates leaching by heterotrophic bacteria-assisted processing technology were tried and tested. Technology of gold sorption from leaching solutions was successfully tested.

"Since 1992, the concentration of gold using gravity methods has progressed to become an important part of production at Hemlo Gold's Golden Giant Mine. Currently, the gravity circuit accounts for approximately 25% of the Golden Giant Mine's Gold production. This circuit consists of a 30 inch Center-Drain Knelson Concentrator and a Shaking Table. The evolution of gravity concentration will be discussed with an emphasis on the economic justification for a gravity circuit as well as the practical aspects and metallurgical impact of operating such a circuit. It will be demonstrated that the operation of a gravity circuit has definite benefits to the operation of the Golden Giant Mill and will continue to play an important role in future gold production.1.0 IntroductionHemlo Gold Mines Inc. Golden Giant Mine is a 3000 TPD underground gold mine and milling facility located 40 km east of Marathon, Ontario. Mining is accomplished by means of sublevel longhole open stoping. The ore is processed using conventional crushing, 3-stage ball milling, conventional cyanidation and CIP processes. The mill and concentrator are described in more detail in other publications1,2.Since July of 1992, the Golden Giant Mine has been using a gravity circuit for gold recovery in the mill's grinding circuit. Despite the fact that gold recovery averages over 96% using conventional cyanidation and carbon-in-pulp processes, the gravity circuit has become an integral part of milling operations. This paper will discuss the economic justification for a gravity circuit as well as the practical and metallurgical aspects of its operation."

"In 2013, the commissioning of the MillStar Stabilisation and FloatStar Stabilisation and Optimisation controllers were completed at the Cerro Bayo Silver (Ag) mine in Patagonia, Chile. The MillStar control system has stabilised the feed to the SAG mill as well as the density at the discharge end of the SAG mill and ball mill. The FloatStar Stabilisation and Optimisation controllers have successfully stabilised and optimised the flotation circuit to ensure consistent product quality within desired specifications.The mill feed is controlled utilising the MillStar Solids Feed controller. Additionally, the solids to liquid ratio into the SAG mill was controlled utilising the Mill Inlet Ratio controller in conjunction with the Solids Feed controller. The discharge end of the milling process is a highly interactive and complex system. The use of a Robust Nonlinear Model Predicative Controller (RNMPC) was ideally suited to control this section of the process. On the Cerro Bayo milling circuit, the RNMPC was used to control the mill discharge sump level and the primary cyclone feed density to produce a more consistent feed to the flotation circuit.Three levels of the FloatStar control system were installed, for flotation stability, concentrate flow stability as well as grade optimisation. The Level Stabiliser was used to stabilise the level control on 6 flotation banks. The Flow Optimiser was commissioned on the Rougher, Scavenger and Cleaner concentrate sumps to stabilise concentrate flow from the flotation cells. The Grade Recovery Optimiser was commissioned on the Roughers section. A number of instrumentation challenges were identified which limited the overall benefit derived from the system. Once these were addressed, the performance was optimised. The overall benefit provided by the system was observed in terms of the improvements in Ag recovery."

The report is concerned with the issue of the possible transfer of U.S. and other developed country deep ocean mining (DOM) technologies to developing countries. This subject is one of several major issues in current UN Law of the Seas negotiations. As background to the subject, the report provides a detailed critique of the various terms and conditions pertaining to technology transfer in recent negotiating texts. It also provides a description of the relevant DOM technology, sources of innovation, and methods of proprietary protection. Functional requirements for viable technology transfer are developed and used as a basis for the definition of alternative levels of programs and implementation approaches, including required changes in the negotiating text. The consequences of these technology transfer options on the various parties are investigated.

"Potash processing in Canada commenced on a commercial scale in 1962. Over the last 25 years it has grown into a world-class industry with many advances in processing technology. As it is a relatively young industry, many more advances can be expected. Unlike much of the mineral production in Canada, potash is sold as a range of finished products. The processing involves potash recovery and finishing in about equal amounts in terms of the effort of processing. Environmental concerns are not insignificant and are being treated uniquely in some areas. Research and development efforts, while not carried out on a large scale, are attacking industry problems on a wide front.THE INDUSTRYThe Canadian potash industry has 12 producing mines, 10 in Saskatchewan and 2 in New Brunswick. The total productive capacity of the industry is 18,300,000 tonnes of products per year. At capacity, the industry 1•ill process the equivalent of about 53,000,000 tonnes of ore per year. Plants range in size from 8,000 tonnes to 24,000 tonnes of feed per operating day. In product terms this is from 2,500 to 3,500 tonnes of products per day.Of the 12 mines, 11 are conventional underground mining operations with potash recovery principally by flotation supplemented by crystallization and one is a solution mine where mining is achieved by dissolving the potash and salt in underground caverns and then treating the solution in an evaporator/ crystallizer circuit. In all plants there is commonality of unit operation in the product screening and compaction sections. There are three principal ores being treated in the conventional plants. "PID loops – also known as base layers or regulatory controls – form the foundation of any plant’s control layer and it is generally accepted that PID loop health has a direct impact on the plant’s bottom line. Keeping these thousands of control loops in good health has a direct impact on the plant’s bottom line: it reduces variability, improves quality and throughput, and decreases energy costs and raw material usage. This has been well proven and documented in many articles. In the last ten years, technology has evolved: control engineers can now keep track of control loop performance and link it to the root causes of variability. However, they lack industry-wide best practices and criteria for determining what can be considered as excellent, good, fair, or poor performance. To ensure that PID control loops continue to perform well and meet their objectives, control engineers need a combination of (a) an appropriate monitoring technology and (b) best practices for doing the maintenance of base layer controls.Most plants have limited resources and operate with an increasing number of constraints; therefore, using the right tools and including reports in daily workflow is key for success. This paper suggests roles and responsibilities of key players needed to work toward control performance best practices and discuss organisational changes to succeed.INTRODUCTIONAlthough PID controllers are reliable workhorses in the process industry, they are often underrated. Since the 1980’s, computer control has evolved and the control algorithms used by control engineers have become increasingly complex. However, PID controllers still handle over 90% of the control loops in operating plants. Table 1 shows the savings that can be realized by achieving best-practice in several different process control categories (Brisk, 2004). The savings are expressed as a percentage of production costs."

"For mining operations globally, the scale and criticality of the grinding mill drive has meant that selection of the correct mill drive technology is paramount. With so much depending on the successful implementation of the electrical drive system— safety operation, timely installation, availability, energy efficiency, minimum maintenance and extend its use as tool to assist during mill liner exchange—customers are justified in their scrutiny and slow adoption of new drive technology. From the first installation of low, fixed speed synchronous motors to the introduction of the current source and further voltage source variable frequency drive, innovations require long periods of time and mining customers willing to push the industry forward. In recent years, the variable frequency drive has been the stepping stone for a new generation of mill drive technology. In use for decades in other heavy industrial applications, the drives allow for system optimization in a myriad of ways. The most dramatic of changes is in the design of the motor. Where in the past motor design was bound by line frequency, today the designer can optimize machine size and, more importantly, eliminate the need entirely for the synchronous motor. Induction motor design has now progressed to the point where low speed operation is possible at efficiency levels nearing those of the synchronous design. Moreover, the simplicity of the squirrel cage design means that availability, reliability and spare part requirements are greatly improved. As the next step in the evolution of large pinion driven grinding mills, the low speed induction drive offers a new reliable and robust system to the market.IntroductionAs deposit grades continue to decline, new ways of processing ever greater concentrator throughputs have been required to maintain throughput efficient and profitable operations. Furthermore, the high risk nature of mining developments requires a constant search for safer, higher availability and more efficient equipment design. Limitation of downtime is a key factor in ensuring mining operations can be sustained through volatile market conditions. Often processing the entire mine throughput through just 1 or 2 lines, the crushing and grinding circuits are of particular criticality to the uptime and, thus, profitability of any mining operation."

The North 27th St. ISS Extension tunnel will, under present plans, be the last constructed section of Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District?s (MMSD?s) existing deep tunnel system. The 6.5 m (21 ft) finished diameter tunnel is approximately 3,260 m (10,590 ft) long and is located in NE Milwaukee County. When disputes over the pro-cesses to be used in owner-directed pre-excavation grouting in rock threatened the completion date stipulated between MMSD and the State of Wisconsin, the MMSD and J.F. Shea, the contractor, entered into a unique agreement. Shea accepted responsibility for all shaft and tunnel grouting and water control during the project in exchange for settlement of claims related to grout quantities and perceived delays. This significantly reduced risk for the MMSD and helped ensure the stipulated completion of the project.
