A new litho-structural map was derived from the airborne geophysical survey and the 3D inversions. The newly identified faulting structures are suggested to have played a key role in the gold mineralization control. Several kimberlite targets, whose magnetic response is similar to known diamantiferous kimberlite pipes occurring within the study area, were identified from the 3D inversion results. Enhanced spectrometric data imaging and their interpretation results helped detect several uranium targets occurring within the Neoproterozoic sediments and the Eburnean pegmatites of the basement rocks.

There are several underlying themes: Readily available computing power makes possible instrument like SPLIT, JKFrothCam and the JK/FEI Mineral Liberation Analyser, a large research project is underway applying acoustic monitoring techniques to large mills with the object being to more accurately monitor total mill load and ball load on-line. Taking advantage of these opportunities will require detailed ore characterization, good models and accurate measurement of mine and plant performance.

The nature of the gold-bearing fluid and the source of gold in sedimentary-hosted gold deposits of Carlin, orogenic or epithermal types is still matter of debate. Most authors point to magmatic/ metamorphic origin for the fluids, however, the properties of such fluids and their interactions with organic carbon – a common component in this type of deposits – are not sufficiently well known. Here we present a large set of novel geochemical, mineralogical and fluid-inclusion data obtained from the Algamarca Au-Ag-Cu epithermal veins, corresponding to lateral manifestation of the neighbouring sedimentary-hosted epithermal-gold deposit at Shahuindo.

This paper point out the discussion and evaluation of the non-conventional water resources; the discussion of the results of a multicriteria analysis which allows understanding and evaluating the differences; advantages and disadvantages from the technical-economical, social and environmental point of view of the non conventional water supply options: re use of municipal waste water as compared to seawater supply and its two sub options: raw seawater and desalinated seawater. The results show that there are advantages and disadvantages to each approach, but that use of non-conventional water resources is a viable option for mining companies.

In the current difficult financial markets, only the best projects will advance to the next phases of development due to limited funding. Projects are consistently being evaluated by their initial Capital Expenditure (CapEx), Net Present Value (NPV), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). Optimizing these parameters is the best way to gain market interest. Global Resource Engineering LTD (GRE) completed an optimization study for a silver-lead-zinc project in Peru. In this sense, the objective of the study was to minimize the project initial Capital Expenditure while maximizing the Net Present Value and Internal Rate of Return. GRE accomplished this goal by completing a series of tradeoff studies for the project and combining them through the use of a multi-scenario deterministic model to find the most economic scenario.

XML technology can be used as a standard to transfer information from a relational database to any system that relies on such information. There have been many proprietary methods to perform this information transfer, However, none of them was either able to talk to each other or exchange information in a transparent way. This paper describes a system that will allow for a transparent exchange of information not only between a Web browser and a Web Server but also a stand-alone application and the same Web Server. First, the autor summarize the Internet technologies that support the possibilities. Then the autor outline the tasks needed in order to take advantage of these technologies. Finally, it is suggest a few applications that could take advantage of this system.

The paper point out the method to meet the formal requirements for carrying out occupational risk assessment in companies imposed by various regulations and practical needs of modern safety management in company. The method presented allows also utilizing the assessment of economic effects of work accidents to assess the economic value of the risk resulting from the possibility of harm to health occurring to mine staff. A risk assessment example included in the paper and the calculations made permit positive assessment of the usability of the event-tree method for assessing the risk under conditions of limited availability of statistical information on the frequency of harm occurring. The method presented has also this advantage that it is not based on accident ratios that for many reasons do not always conform to reality and always show past safety level, not anticipating accidents but only recording them.

Numerous distinct propitious metallogenic settings containing important but subexploredbase metal mineralisation are manifest as a result of the tectonic evolution of this northern-most sector of the Andes. El petróleo se forma por rocas porosas, que al producirse se llaman los "reservorios de petróleo". Por lo cual este debe poseer intersticios entre las partículas sólidas, que acumulen ciertos fluidos. Empero este no es el único fluido encontrado, sino que pueden contener aguas, gas, en tanto solución del petróleo libre. En este sentido, el objetivo del texto es señalar el funcionamiento del laboratorio de reservorio, en tanto determine estas propiedades, las cuales son básicas en todos los cálculos de reservorios, determinación de reservas, desarrollo de la producción y las posibilidades futuras de recuperación secundaria. Las funciones del Laboratorio de Reservorios de la International Petroleum Company se dividen en dos partes: El primero refiere el trabajo de campo, que incluye obtención de registros de presión, temperatura y determinación de niveles de fluido en los pozos y el segundo, los trabajos de laboratorio propiamente dichos como la determinación de las propiedades físicas de las rocas del reservorio y de los fluidos que contiene. Estos a su vez comprenden la saturación y permeabilidad. En cuanto a los trabajos de muestras de petróleo del subsuelo, encontramos factores como la presión de saturación, relacion de gas-petróleo, volumen de formación y viscocidad. Asimismo los análisis de trabajos de muestras de gas se realizan mediante el desplazamiento de fluídos por inyección de agua.

El presente texto señala la perforación y disparo como los medios más adecuados para la explotación de la mina Marcona. Los depósitos de mineral de fierro de Marcona se encuentran ubicados en el distrito de Marcona, provincia de Nazca, Ica. Los elementos que se consideran en un banco para la perforación de taladros y voladuras son: el tipo de material que constituye el banco, altura de explotación del banco, talud en la cara libre, dureza del material, el factor de explosivo que se desea usar, incluyendo la fragmentación y el desplazamiento que se quiere obtener, y la profundidad de perforación total, que es la altura de explotación más la sobreperforación necesaria para obtener el nivel del piso deseado. Asimismo, dentro del sistema de voladuras, se emplea el uso de nitrato de amonio mezclado con petróleo residual denominado ANFO, habiéndose obtenido reducción en los costos por tonelada disparada mediante su uso.

El Encierro es un yacimiento de tipo pórfido Cu-Au del Mioceno superior ubicado en la zona intermedia entre las franjas de El Indio y Maricunga, en el norte de Chile. Está emplazado bajo un extenso lithocap que presenta evidencias de mineralización de tipo epitermal de alta sulfuración y que fue explorado entre 1987 y 2010 por varias empresas. En 2016, AMSA firmó un contrato de opción de compra con Barrick con el objeto de comprobar la existencia de un sistema tipo porfídico en profundidad con potencial económico. Cuatro campañas de perforación desarrolladas entre 2015 y 2020 permitieron probar que debajo del lithocap se encuentra un sistema porfídico de Cu-Au con leyes que se incrementan por debajo de la cota 3,000 m.

Es el caso de estudio del presente trabajo el conflicto que enfrento al Centro minero a cargo de Southern Perú Copper Corporation, sede “Cuajone”, mina de cobre a cielo abierto ubicado en el distrito de Torata, provincia de Mariscal Nieto, departamento de Moquegua, Perú, cuyo yacimiento está localizado en la franja oeste de la Cordillera Occidental en la parte sur de los Andes peruanos, cuyo inicio tuvo lugar el 28 de febrero del año 2022, cuando la Comunidad Campesina de Tumilaca, Pocata, Coscore y Tala tomó control del vaso regulador del reservorio Viña Blanca, del cual se abastece de agua potable al centro de operaciones y al campamento del referido centro minero
