"The present paper contains study results of gold morphology and grain size distribution in flotation concentrates produced from original ore samples from deposits of different genesis. Pre-concentration methods were used with selective dissolution of rock minerals and mineral heavy medium separation to obtain statistically valid data on gold grain size and morphology in concentration products. Special attention is given to study of flash flotation concentrates that is mainly used for coarse gold, underextracted in gravity circuit. Analysis of geometrical optics has allowed to establish that during flash flotation gold grains more than 150 µm can be extracted from 10 to 35%, and in some cases single gold grains above 300 µm. INTRODUCTION Distinctive features of gold that have a significant impact, and in some cases, decisive influence on its recovery into saleable products are mineral shape, grain size and morphology of metal particles, paragenetic associations of gold. Peculiar feature of coarse gold is its easy extraction during grinding from associated mineral components like quartz, sulphide and other and almost complete recovery into gravity concentrates (Lodeischikov V.V., 1997). Morphology of native gold is so diverse that different gold grains are better extracted using different methods of concentration. Compacted and rounded particles are easily processed using gravity concentration but low cyanidable and hard to process using flotation. On the contrary, lamellar, flake, dendrite and capillary aggregates of high specific surface are easily cyanidable and under definite conditions it has strong floatability (Lodeischikov V.V., 1997). Flotation of gold-containing sulphide minerals and free gold takes place simultaneously during flotation concentration. In case of low-sulphide ores, native gold takes the basic load, having the high density (15.6 to 18.3 g/cm3, for pure gold – 19.3 g/cm3) it has limited size and morphology for successful flotation. It is known that flake gold and fine-grained gold up to 0.1 mm are easily extracted (Lodeischikov V.V., 1997). Authors of the present paper performed a study of gold granulometry and morphology in flotation concentrates produced from gold-containing ores from two deposits of different types: gold-copper oxidized hematite ores and low-sulphide gold-quartz ores. Ores are different by both host rock composition, mineralogical and petrographic features, gold grade in mineral assemblage and morphology and size of precious metal. Common for both ore types is low-sulphide content and presence of free gold."

About 90% of the barytes produced the world over is used for oil and gas drilling as weighting agent in drilling mud to control pressure, prevent blow out and provide lubrication. This is because of its unique properties like high specific gravity, water insolubility and intentness. India is one of the leading producers and exporters of barites. The Mangampeth Baryte deposit in Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh, India being the largest single deposit in the world having a reserves of about 80 million tonnes. Approximately 50% of the total reserves of grey barites of Mangampet deposit assays less than 92% BaSO4, the minimum stipulated grade for oil and gas drilling industries. To reach and recover the high grade barite, the overlying low grade has necessarily to be mined out and removed. At present this is being stacked separately at the mine site involving lot of labour and transport cost. Considerable barites is contained in the dumps adversely affecting the conservation and creating lot of environmental hazards. IBM being the premier organization in India in the field of conservation of minerals and environmental protection in mining has recognized the importance of adverse effect of these huge dumps at site. The Ore Dressing Division of IBM, Nagpur has characterized these dumps and developed the flotation process on a sample assaying 66% BaSO4 and 23.3% SiO2. The flotation concentrate obtained assayed 93.7% BaSO4, 2.38% SiO2 with BaSO4 recovery of 80% and meets the requirement of the oil industry. The flotation concentrate being non-wetable, can not be used as such as weighting agent, and hence the collector coating on the concentrate was removed either by acid treatment or heating to make it water wetable. The concentrate was 92% -325 mesh and having a specific gravity 4.3. The barites concentrates so produced meets the size, grade and specific gravity specifications required for use in oil drilling industry. Apart from the financial benefits the process augurs well for the commercial exploitation of these huge dumps in terms of (1) additional recovery of these valuable minerals and conservation, (2) reduction in dumps value, (3) improvement in environment and offering an excellent potential for export.

There are some problems in the beneficiation of fine-grained oxidized iron mineral such as high cost, severe sliming, poor results and low recovery due to the fine disseminated size of the mineral. Taking several representative types of finely-disseminated oxidized iron minerals as examples, the author analyzed the main difficulties in the beneficiation of such kind of ores and discussed the existing problems in grinding-classification, technological process, flotation reagents and separation equipments and the resolvents of these problems.

The study involved two projects that will produce copper concentrate and may have their operations integrated. Transport by trucks, conveyor belt, and the equipment called RopeCon were evaluated as options for the ore transport between the sites. A rainforest stretch, that Vale S.A. demands to preserve, is situated between the projects. It was suggested to further review RopeCon because it presents minimal interactions with the environment. To design the preliminary system layout, a research was done on the rainforest cover height data, but the information found was scarce and imprecise. For preserving the local forest, the use of this data would conduct to the oversizing of RopeCon towers and, consequently, overestimation of its costs. For the acquisition of reliable information, a method was developed using local data acquired through airborne laser survey. The volume between the digital surface and terrain models was calculated to generate a surface representing the forest cover height. It was revealed, by plotting the points obtained from this surface, that 85% of the vegetation is below 25 m. This height is suggested to review the preliminary project with a more accurate design of the equipment towers, thus reducing its costs estimates. The method permits the precise location of the large trees, making easier to find a pathway, for linear-shaped facilities, that would minimize the creation of vegetation-free zones as a measure to protect equipments against falling trees and forest fires. "Oxidized nickel ores are important source for nickel production in Russia. Considerable explored reserves of oxidized nickel ores with relatively low nickel content, about 0.6-1.4%, are concentrated in the Ural region of Russia. Conventional process flowsheet with the use of blast matte smelting, applied in particularly by JSC “Ufaleynickel”, proves itself as extremely low-margin technology. This paper will examine development of a new more cost-efficient process involving integrated treatment of oxidized nickel ores using the ore from Serovskoye deposit as an example. Target products of this process are hydrate residues containing up to 15 % of nickel and 0.3 % of cobalt, as well as saleable salts of magnesium sulphate and ammonium suplphate. This innovative process includes roasting of a mixture composed of ground ore and sulphuric acid at 650 °?. Sulphate roasted product is then leached in a weak sulphuric acid solution with the following separation of liquid from insoluble solids. Sulphate solution is neutralized by aqua ammonia in two stages until media pH is 3.0-3.5 and 7.5-8.0 with detachment of iron- and nickel-bearing hydrate residues respectively. The mother solution is boiled out resulting in salt crystals which are then dried and roasted at 500-600 °? to obtain magnesium sulphate. The gases generated during salts roasting are captured with production of ammonium sulphate. The developed technology demonstrates higher potential in terms of its economics and eco-efficiency comparing with the conventional process. This innovative technology for integrated process of oxidized nickel ores was patented in Russia.INTRODUCTION Development and industrial implementation of efficient technologies to process oxidized nickel ores is a very important task for non-ferrous metallurgy of Russia. The main reasons for the required technical upgrade of the plants processing oxidized nickel ores is depletion of rich ores, increase of energy resources costs, amplification of environmental and production standards. Due to this, transition from conventional pyrometallurgy to cost-effective hydrometallurgical technologies of ore liberation and solutions processing is logical and corresponds to the worldwide practice of Ni production from oxidized nickel ores."

For a correct evaluation of the performance of any process, it is important to reconcile the data gathered in the plant from the material balance point of view for all the streams flowing in and flowing out of the process unit. There are two main approaches to reconciliation of data, which involve minimization of the sum of the squares of: (i) the closure residuals and (ii) the component adjustments; both weighed with the estimated variances of the components. Though, these approaches have served us well, it has not been possible to ascertain if the reconciled values for various components and the split factors obtained using these approaches are truly the best estimates. In this paper, this aspect has been investigated by analyzing pseudo-experimental data of known error structure on size classification of particles in a hydrocyclone. Three types of basic error structures were considered for the measured component values: absolute error, relative error and chi-square error. The error structure was modified by adding a random component of error using normally distributed random numbers corresponding to zero mean and different levels of variance. By carrying out a large number of simulation experiments, it has been shown that in the presence of random errors, irrespective of the basic error structure of data, which is usually unknown, the chi-square error minimization criterion can be used to obtain most reliable results. Most Chinese titanium bearing minerals are the composition of magnetite vanadium and ilmenite. All of such mineral processing plants use low intensity magnetic separators to recover magnetite and vanadium goes with magnetite. In the past years most of the plant tails containing about 10% TiO2 were abandoned. Now many of these plants use SLon magnetic separators to recover ilmenite in the roughing stage, which can throw away most of the gangs and slimes with very low cost. The new development of applications of SLon magnetic separators in Chinese ilmenite processing industry is introduced in the paper.

Magnetic floatation column (MFC) is a new equipment used for increasing content of iron, in which magnetite is separated in open gradient magnetic field. Simulation study was performed to investigate the separation characteristics of the separation method by analyzing the dynamic motion of magnetic particles. In this paper we compare two magnetic fields created by different magnets. The obtained simulation results give perspective in industrial design of MFC as the basis stage.

India is the third largest producer with accounting to fifth largest reserves base of coal in the world. Indian coal has high ash content (15-45%) and low calorific value. The basic processes being used in India at different places for coal washing adopts old techniques. Much of the valuable part is being lost during washing processes. With enhancement of the available techniques and use of new processes like flotation process indicates better recovery of carbon values during washing stage. The same will increase the reserve base, improve economy of operation and alleviate environment related problems. In the above backdrop this paper portrays the case study of an existing coal processing plant in India. The case study includes the modifications being incorporated in the existing process to enhance the product value. The existing practices and the future trend of process technology that could be adopted to meet the requirements in this country are also discussed. "While there is a large industry based on recovering platinum group metals (PGM) from complex sulphide ores containing Cu and Ni, there is little information on the thermodynamics of the matte phase formed on smelting the ore and in particular the behaviour of Pt in the matte.The equilibrium between metallic platinum and industrial mattes was studied in a series of experiments where a small quantity of matte (5g) and platinum foil of 150 µm thickness (0.5 g) were equilibrated in magnesia crucibles at 1400°C under conditions where the oxygen and sulphur partial pressures were fixed.The chemical composition of the phases was determined from EDS analysis using a scanning electron microscope. Line scans were initially used to confirm that the foils had attained a uniform composition across their thickness. The composition of the matte was determined from analysis of an area of matte including the small metallic droplets and dendrites.The results of the equilibrium study are presented in terms of how the oxygen and the sulphur pressure affect the distribution of Pt, between the matte and the alloy foil (Lmatte/alloy). Other variables investigated were matte chemistry, i.e., the Fe content and the temperature. The activities of platinum in the mattes were calculated using a regular solution model describing the activity-composition relationship in the alloy."

The estimated requirement of the nation by the year 2020 is approx. 80 Mt of steel and more than 0.2 million MW installed capacity of the electricity, thereby increasing the consumption of the coking and non-coking coal, which is expected to be in tune of about 75 Mt & 500 Mt respectively. One of the major deleterious factors in achieving the goal is the deteriorating quality of the feed coal used in both steel and power industries. Indian coking coals, in general, are typified by high ash, high inert (both organic and inorganic), low rank, low reactive macerals content, heterogeneous petrographic make-up, inferior coking properties and poor amenability to washing, thereby necessitating suitable washing measure. Coke-based steel industries in India require washed coking coal containing ash % varying between 17-19. The situation demands taking on immediate challenges to fill up the gap between the requirements and supply of coking coal. This paper reviews the R&D attempts in this laboratory and throws light on the key measures as long-term solution to the problem. Search for alternative source of coking coal, like LVC coal and their judicious preparation technology. The low volatile coking coal (LVCC) constitutes about 50% of the total coking coal reserves in India. These coals are characterized by high raw coal ash content (37 to 40%) and very difficult washability potential. If these coals are treated in the existing washeries, which are generally 2 or 3-product systems, the cost of clean coal is high as the byproduct sale value is low. It has been proposed to produce a new type of by product, which enjoys high demand and good coking properties.

"The article presents the results of precious metals leaching using halogen solvents and their precipitation on a sorbent in the process of pressure oxidation. A technology of pressure oxidation – carbon-in-leach treatment (POX-CIL) of refractory sulphide gold-bearing flotation concentrates with the addition of a halogen solvent and a sorbent was developed based on the laboratory studies and pilot plant tests. The technology involves the following steps: oxidation of a flotation concentrate; precious metals dissolution and recovery on a sorbent; precious metals elution; electrolysis of eluates; smelting of cathode precipitates with producing Dore beads. This approach ensures oxidation at least 98% of sulphides and gold of more than 95%. The POX-CIL process have the following patents: a patent of the Eurasian Patent Organization No.017438 “A method of processing materials containing precious metals and sulphides” and a patent of the Russian Federation No.2625146 “A method of precious metals recovery from refractory sulphide gold-bearing materials”.INTRODUCTION Gold-bearing ores are classified as readily amenable to cyanidation, or non-refractory, and not readily amenable to cyanidation, or refractory [1]. Special attention should be given to the three most common technological types of gold-bearing ore materials, according to the Irgiredmet’s classification: pyrite-arsenopyrite ores with finely disseminated gold locked in sulphides (physical depression of gold in cyanidation process); cupriferous gold-bearing ores, when cyanidation comes along with chemical depression of gold by mineral compounds (cyanisides); carbonaceous ores showing higher sorption activity to precious metals dissolved in cyanide. Direct cyanidation of refractory sulphide gold-bearing materials does not provide high recovery of precious metals. There are the following methods of refractory gold-bearing ores and concentrates preparation to subsequent gold recovery: roasting, fine grinding, bacterial and pressure oxidation (POX) [2]. Existing POX-cyanidation flowsheets involve high costs due to a large amount of process operations and using expensive and environmentally hazardous sodium cyanide."

Phosphorus slag is one of the most large-tonnage of yellow phosphorus production waste, which for decades stored in the slag disposal, by polluting the environment and creating environmental problems in the regions. Phosphorus slags from the processing of Karatau phosphorites are a very promising source of raw materials not only for silicon compounds but also rare earth metals (REM). Among the REM, yttrium, neodymium, europium and lutetium predominate, which are relevant to high-tech industries. The report presents technological scheme of complex processing of slags of phosphoric production with obtaining of REM concentrate and precipitated silicon dioxide ("white soot"). The regime parameters of the main operations of the technology are determined: I stage- leaching of slag with nitric acid solution; extraction of the REM-containing solution with tributyl phosphate and stripping of the REM with water; settling of solution of salts of oxalic acid, calcining the precipitate to obtain a concentrate S REM oxides and II stage of leaching silicon cake to obtain "white soot". Recovery of S REM from slags of phosphoric production on various redistribution has made, %: leaching – 95.0; extraction - 90.2; extraction on the average ~ 93.2; the production of a concentrate of REM oxide is 93.9. A concentrate containing 17.3 % of REM oxides was obtained. According to X-ray analysis it contains the following phases: calcium oxide, portlandite2, gadolinium oxide and yttrium, gadolinium oxide, gadolinium oxide and cerium, neodymium oxide, neodymium oxide and cerium. Thus, the concentrate can serve as a raw material for the production of individual rare-earth metals like gadolinium, cerium, yttrium and neodymium. After performing the II stage of leaching siliceous cake with nitric acid the samples of "white soot" were obtained. Its chemical composition corresponds to the state standard and has a specific surface area equal to 180 - 200 m2/g. The technology has been tested in a large-scale laboratory scale and will solve the problem of complex processing of phosphorus raw materials and import substitution in Kazakhstan. The end-to-end recovery of S REM oxides and silicon into concentrate and product from their initial content in slags is ~ 75.0 and 98.0 %, respectively.

Charge motion is of prime importance in the efficiency of comminution in tumbling mills. Since direct observation of charge shape and its motion in industrial mill are not possible, a combination of analytical and physical studies was used to determine charge trajectory. Software packages, which predict charge motion such as the GMT (Grinding Media Trajectory) only consider the outermost layer of charge (single ball) and ignore the interactions of grinding elements. In this research, the measured charge trajectory in a 1m-diameter mill with the transparent end, called model mill, was compared with that of the GMT. Four types of polyurethane rings were accurately machined to scale down the liners arrangements at two industrial mills. To explore various charge shapes and trajectories, the model mill was operated at 55, 70 and 85% of critical speed for five levels of mill filling (10, 15, 20, 25 and 30% by volume). The angular displacement of the toe, toe departure, shoulder and charge impact point were determined from the photographs taken from the model mill. New relationships to predict charge shape and charge impact points were introduced to modify the GMT results. The relationships were validated by the model mill using the new liner of the Sarcheshmeh copper complex SAG mill. The relative error of prediction was found to be 1.1%. The results indicated that when the lifter face angle increased from 7 to 30º, the distance between the charge impact point and the toe decreased from 52 to 31º for 25% filling. This meant increasing the probability of charge impacting the toe not the liner which favoured more efficient comminution practice. After converting AG mills to SAG mills on account of liner profile change, 31% increase in throughput (from 419 to 548 t/h) in addition to 4% decrease in the product size (from 516 to 496 µm) were realized which was a significant contribution in the plant performance improvement.

Cenospheres is a sandlike hollow sphere component of the fly ash that is collected in coal-burning electric power generating plants. Metal coated particles have been widely used in industries. Magnetron sputtering method which was used to coat copper film on the surface of the cenospheres is a widely used coating technique in large surface metal coating. A newly designed equipment is used to make the fine particle coating can be carried out because the fine particle is hard to disperse and it must make the particle keep moving to let every direction of the particle be coated. The copper film coated is compact, smooth, even and without uncoated spots under the optical microscopy and SEM. The film has good affinity to the cenosphere surface. The film does not separate with cenoshpere surface even when the cenosphere is crushed. The XRD, SEM, XPS, SPM was used to study the copper film characteristic. It is shown that using this newly designed magnetic sputtering equipment can coat high quality copper nanofilm on the cenoshpere surface.

"Bacteria that grow in autochtonous communities of gold heap leaching (HL) wastes are adapted to high concentrations of contaminants and environmental conditions. An example of a mine in the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic showed that the bacterial factor had a significant influence on cyanide breakdown and copper and nickel removal in the conditions of HL ore pile zoning compared to chemical oxidation. The diversity of bacterial communities growing in natural and simulated conditions of a HL ore pile was determined for the purpose of the study. The identified bacterial communities included genus Achromobacter and Serratia, which were found to be adapted to a wide range of temperature and can be considered as potential microorganisms for detoxification of gold HL wastes. INTRODUCTION Technologies and systems of passive treatment are of a special interest in relation to solving environmental problems of gold HL wastes detoxification, when neutralization time is not considered as a limitation (Alvarez et al. 2005). Passive treatment methods are based on reagentless spontaneous breakdown of cyanide caused by natural factors, including activity of autochthonous bacterial communities. Implementation of a reagentless biodetoxification technology for mature HL operations provides reduction of environmental impact on industrial site locations and substantial economic benefits compared to conventional chemical processes of neutralization that prevail in the Russian Federation territory. Passive treatment of cyanide-containing wastes was investigated by M. Botz, T. Mudder, S.V. Petrov, L. Simovic, A. Smith, C.A. Young etc. However, the bacterial factor (autochtonous bacterial communities) role in this process is practically unexplored. Thus, the aims of the study included the investigation of a bacterial factor influence on passive treatment of gold HL wastes and the identification of functional groups of bacteria involved in passive treatment."

Mechanical activation of gibbsite [?-Al(OH)3] is the theme of this paper. Industrially prepared gibbsite used in the study has a mono modal size distribution with a median size, d50=110 µm. Mechanical activation of this gibbsite has been carried out in a planetary mill at ambient conditions. Mechanical activated gibbsite samples are characterised in terms of particulate characteristics, structural characteristics and reactivity. As a result, of milling, mono modal size distribution of the unmilled gibbsite changes to a broad multimodal distribution. Size reduction has been sharp in the initial stages of milling; median size reduces to ~7 µm during 15 min of milling. Thereafter no decrease in median size is observed; rather it is found to increase gradually with further increase in milling time, indicating particle aggregation. Morphological studies of milled gibbsite have shown that the platelets forming the agglomerate are separated first; the separated platelets then undergo breakage. Aggregation of particles sets in the later stages of milling as a result of increased surface area and surface energy. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies have clearly revealed the changes in gibbsite structure during milling. Analyses of XRD data show that the crystallite size of gibbsite decreases as the milling time progresses whereas its microstrain is found to increase. Accumulation of energy in the structure is the result in both cases. TEM micrographs with signs of defects leading to disordering of gibbsite structure complement the XRD results. Reactivity of milled gibbsite, decrease in its deydroxylation temperature and increase in alkali dissolution, is found to increase with mechanical activation. Increased reactivity of milled gibbsite is found to have a strong correlation with the BET specific surface area. A rapid recovery/recycling process was introduced utilizing the surface-chemical properties of finely dispersed mercury and alumina (Al2O3) fibers in aqueous environment. The conventional method of amalgamation or .ball milling. involves the mixing of a substantial amount of mercury to collect free gold during the grinding stage. In effect, a portion of the mercury is transformed into minute droplets that readily float and disperse in the amalgamation effluent. The fine droplets of mercury in the dispersion readily attached onto the positively charged macroscopic alumina fibers (i.e. = pH 9.8) at conditions pH 3 to 10. When an effluent from settling procedure after an amalgamation-grinding stage is passed through a column-bed packed with alumina fibers, maximum collection of negatively charged finely dispersed mercury occurred at pH 3 to 6. The collection/attachment efficiency was 99.5%. The collected droplets of mercury, which are left in the column-bed of alumina fibers, were subsequently rinsed with alkaline solution at pH 10 to 11.5. At these conditions, both mercury and alumina fibers carry negative surface potentials and resulted in the partial detachment of mercury from the alumina fibers. The detachment efficiency was only 30-35%. The attachment/detachment mechanisms in this study were analyzed using the DLVO theory.

Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara AB (LKAB) operates an iron ore mine, three beneficiation plants and three pelletizing plants in Kiruna, Sweden. The current methods of separation in the beneficiation plants are wet low intensity magnetic separation (WLIMS) and reverse apatite flotation, where the WLIMS stage is regarded as the crucial part of silica separation from the ore. Currently, the high-grade iron ore deposit of Kiirunavaara has a low grade of silica in situ, of approximately 3.0% SiO2, but the silica grade is expected to increase in the deeper parts of the deposit with a complex silicate mineralogy. An increasing silica grade will affect especially the production of direct reduction pellets (LKAB DR Oxide Pellets), one of the main products of LKAB in Kiruna with an average silica grade of under 0.75% SiO2. The silica grade in the magnetite concentrate is normally limited to a maximum level of 0.55% SiO2 in order to achieve the required chemical composition in the pelletizing process. In order to study the possibility to reduce silicate content in the magnetite concentrate (pellet feed) in the beneficiation plants in Kiruna obtained by wet low intensity magnetic separation (WLIMS), enlarged mineral processing test work was carried out in the LKAB’s mineral processing laboratories in 2016. The test work consisted of comminution, low intensity magnetic separation and reverse cationic silicate flotation at laboratory scale, complemented by screen analysis, chemical assays and mineralogical investigation. The results of these mineral processing test work showed that the magnetic separation is not sufficient to reduce the silica content in the magnetite concentrate, particularly in the case of the high-SiO2 ore type B2-a. The reverse cationic flotation can be regarded as a possible solution to reduce the silicate content in the magnetite concentrate obtained by WLIMS and to achieve the required silica grade of less than 0.55 % SiO2 in the pellet feed. The results of this study provide a good basis to understand the behaviour of different silicates in the existing beneficiation process. Furthermore, it serves valuable information for development of new beneficiation processes and for investment in new equipment at the beneficiation plants in Kiruna in the future.

"This paper focuses on the beneficiation of the REE-Y-Nb-Zr complex ore from the ‘Khalzan Buregtei’ deposit, Mongolia. Pre-concentration based on mineralogical studies was investigated at the Unit of Mineral Processing (AMR) and the Institute of Applied Mineralogy and Economic Geology of RWTH Aachen University. In order to minimize the energy consumption in the most energy intensive grinding process a pre-concentration process using dry magnetic separation of particle sizes coarser than required for the liberation of the valuable ore minerals was designed. Dry magnetic separation in the particle size range of 63-250 µm is suitable as the pre-concentration method, due to the intergrowth of REE-Y-Nb-Zr bearing minerals with magnetic minerals determined by QEMSCAN© analysis. The results showed that a mass reduction of 45.3 wt.-% at high recoveries of REE, Y, Nb and Zr (90 wt.-% and higher) in the pre-concentration product was achieved at the beginning of the process chain. The improvement of process efficiency as shown in this study depends on the abundance and association of minerals affecting the magnetic properties (e.g. hematite) of the ores. Therefore, these mineralogical parameters are as important as grain size and ore grade for the geometallurgical evaluation of potential mining operations at ‘Khalzan Buregtei’.INTRODUCTION Polymetallic deposits containing other critical elements besides REE have the advantage of being robust to economic development and fluctuations of individual metal prices.
