Introduction The Mine Manager or Superintendent is a man faced with a difficult problem. He must direct the activities of his mine in such a manner that, over a period of time, the greatest possible profit will be realized. In this respect, a mine is no different from any other business organized for profit. What makes the mine manager's task so difficult then? The profit of a mine is determined by -among other things -the grade of ore, the market price of the metal or metals produced, and the cost to operate the mine. The mine manager cannot do much about the first two of these, but he has considerable control over the operating cost. This cost will depend in large measure on the nature of the programme on which he plans to operate his mine. This operating plan may be broad or specific, on a long-range basis or on a month to month basis. The development of the plan, however, is made very difficult by the existence of so many factors which must be considered. These may be (1) factors requiring decisions based on the best judgment and interpretation of engineering and geological information available, or (2) items which must be considered but which are largely non-controllable. To be more specific, examples of such items would be: (1).-(a) The amount and type of development work to be done in relation to amount of ore to be mined. (b) Mining methods to be followed and type of equipment to be used. © Amount of exploration diamond drilling to be done if the orebody is not clearly defined. (2).-(a) Rock type and degree of hardness. (b) Width, depth, and pitch of veins. © Amount of work requiring timbering. (d) Faults encountered. (e) Water and gas conditions met with.

In the townships of Genoa and Marion, Subdury Mining Division, Ontario, there is a group of twenty-three mining claims known as the Jefferson claims. They are controlled by the Jefferson Mining Corporation and they were staked in 1908 by W. E. Smith, formerly of Sudbury, Ontario, and now of Smith & Reitz, a law firm of Minneapolis, Minnesota. These claims were staked for iron ore and in 1910 about 4000 feet of diamond-drilling was done on them. During the drilling operations galena and sphalerite ~were found in the iron formation in cores from holes, Nos. 2 and 3, claim W. D. 717, Genoa township. This discovery lead to a search for galena and sphalerite in the vicinity and a streak of rock containing these minerals was found in the iron formation a short distance to the east of. the drill holes. A shaft was sunk on this outcrop in 1912 to a depth of 8 feet and bottomed in an attractive lens of galena. Stripping revealed other small exposures of galena and sphalerite in the iron formation.

"IN 1975, Nova Scotia produced 1.8 million tons of coal with a FOB mine value of $47.6 million. Of this total, about 30 per cent or 600,000 tons was coking coal and the remainder was steam and industrial-grade coal. The Nova Scotia Power Corporation consumed 630,000 tons in three generating stations and 570,000 tons were sold to Sydney Steel for making coke for its steel operations. Exports, principally to Great Britain, comprised 370,000 tons in 1975 in addition to the 300,- 000 tons shipped to other provinces for use by cement and pulp and paper companies. In 1975, just over 100,000 tons of coking coal were imported into the province from Alberta. Before 1975, low-volatile coking coal was traditionally obtained from the United States. In 1975, production came from seven individual mines and one project involving reclamation from mine dumps in Pictou County. Of the seven producers, four are owned by the Cape Breton Development Corporation, a federal Crown corporation; the remaining three are small independent mines, but, even though small, they are sizeable contributors to the economies of their local areas. After 101 years of continuous operation, Devco's Princess mine was closed in 1975. The Nova Scotia coal industry, in terms of value, accounted for about half of total mineral production in 1975. The industry provides jobs for 3,000 men and women. It is also significant that in 1975 Nova Scotia produced about 6.5 per cent of Canada's total coal production of 28.3 million tons. "Agglomeration has become common pre-treatment step to improve heap leach percolation thereby recovery, the fundamental understanding of the agglomeration process for crushed ores is still lacking. Agglomeration is required for ores which either contain excessive amounts of clay or an excessive quantity of fines generated during mining and crushing. Numerous experiments have been carried out in laboratory scale batch drums using different ores. It has been found out that experimental agglomerate size distributions exhibit self-preserving spectra. The self-preserving/ similarity distribution of the agglomerates is found to be independent of operating conditions and is uniquely determined by the size enlargement mechanism. An empirical model based on the absolute difference between moisture applied and optimum moisture was developed. This model uses self-preserving spectra in the form of a Rosin-Rammler distribution function to predict size distribution at different operating conditions. The empirical model was considerably easier to work with plant scale agglomeration drums. Also, a test known as dip test is developed which improves fundamental understanding of the agglomerate formation and growth mechanisms. This test also provides the progeny size distribution of each agglomerate size. The progeny size distribution was analyzed with a model that partitions the particles into a host and guest category. The ensuing partition coefficient identifies the behaviour of a particle as a host for other particles or a guest layering on other particles. This concept helps in identifying the type of agglomerate that would result for a specific feed size distribution. INTRODUCTIONHeap leaching is one of the hydrometallurgical processes that have served as a green and economically viable process for the treatment of low grade complex ores of copper, uranium, nickel, silver and gold (Dhawan et al., 2013). Heap leaching appears to be a favorable candidate for the least energy consuming process for low grade ores. In heap leach operations nowadays a pretreatment step known as crushed ore agglomeration has been implemented (Dhawan et al., 2013). A bed of agglomerates improves the uniform percolation of solution through the heaps of ore. Therefore, it was possible to treat wastes and mill tailings via agglomeration and heap leaching. Agglomeration pretreatment is required for ores which either contain excessive amounts of clay or an excessive quantity of fines generated during mining and crushing (Bouffard, 2005; Dhawan et al., 2013).While agglomeration has become common practice pretreatment step in heap leach operations, the fundamental understanding of the crushed ore agglomeration process is still lacking. The author reviewed publications up to 2012 on the crushed ore agglomeration process and did not come up with modeling studies on the topic (Dhawan et al., 2013). Some of the possible reasons can be the stochastic nature of the process, experimental difficulties, and lack of instrumentation for fundamental studies."

In this paper, the differential equations governing the mass transport and the electrochemical reaction in a cathode catalyst layer of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells are solved based on the polynomial series expansion method. Explicit expressions for the polarization curve as well as for the distributions of oxygen, current density and overpotential are obtained when a quadratic, cubic or quartic polynomial is employed to approximate the oxygen concentration distribution. These kinds of explicit solutions are desirable for MEA design and diagnosis purposes. The comparison between the conventional numerical approach and the explicit solution approach proposed here shows that satisfactory accuracy can be reached by the first four terms of the polynomial series. The effect of the catalyst layer thickness on the accuracy of the obtained explicit polynomial solutions is also discussed.

MR. A. D. BADOUX: I have listened to Mr. Gordon's excellent paper with great interest, as I personally have gone through some of the experi­ences he has so clearly depicted. In particular, there were a good many times when we were greatly exercised in our minds as to whether we were justified or not in closing-off certain sections in the Allan mine. The difficulty in these cases arose from the fact that a peculiar smell could be detected in these sections but at the same ti me there was no positive evidence of spontaneous combustion either from heat being apparent or from the possible indications of fire getting any worse. It was suspected that the small percentage of -carbon monoxide that could be obtained by analysis in the air in these sections, and also the peculiar odour, were emanating from the coal itself, and, in order to verify this, bore-holes were drilled in the coal and the gases released from these bore-holes were analyzed. They were found to contain carbon monoxide. After quite a considerable length of time this contained carbon monoxide gradually diminished and finally could not be detected when analyzing such samples of gas. It was our intention to follow this matter up further, as such an occurrence of carbon monoxide is practically unknown, but the sections in which these occurrences were found had to be abandoned. Mr. Gordon referred t0 a case of spontaneous combustion in the Allan . mine, and I may say that, although the section in which that occurrence took place was travelled and carefully examined every day by the colliery officials, yet nothing unusual was noticed until the fire actually took place. This tire was the cause of a slight explosion.

Steels in high variety have been providing strength and ductility for more than a century mainly through complex heat treatments following hot shaping. The economical and sustainable goal was a steel with the two operations combined through applying knowledge of dislocations and strengthening mechanisms aided by new mechanical and microstructural techniques. Primary hot reversing-mill rolling produced static recrystallization (SRX) between every pass to significantly finer grain size. Hot torsion showed that with lay-on temperature and rate of reduction suited to gradual precipitation of minor additions of Nb, the austenite grains would become highly pancaked; the existence of very fine subgrains along the grain boundaries (GB) could be deduced from tests on stainless austenite. The HSLA strip had to be water-jet cooled immediately to prevent SRX at austenite GB and ensuring complete transformation to ferrite avoiding grain growth after coiling. Confirmation on old mills and successful product led to the design of more flexible mills for wider range of compositions and products. A significant one was auto bumpers that reduced crash damage. More crack-resisting compositions were developed for strip welding into line pipe for arctic oil transport. Lower metal consumption and easier fabrication has resulted in more sustainable welded bridging.

"AbstractA commercial method .has been developed for controlling the texture of chrysotile asbestos fibers so that they may possess properties comparable with natural sem1-harsh fibers for use in wet •processes.The physical properties of the soft, silky and slimy fibers are partially altered by a flash-heating process which removes a portion of the molecular water.The heat-treated fibers show an improvement in filterability, an increase in bulk, absorption, and surface area and better electrical properties, such as volume resistivity.IntroductionCHRYSOTILE ASBESTOS fibers are found in nature having varying degrees of texture, referred to as soft, semi-harsh, and harsh. Fibers of each type of texture have inherent characteristics which directly affect their usefulness to industry. Visual differences are apparent under a microscope where it is seen that the soft-textured fibers have a silky, serpentine or wavy appearance, whereas the harsh-textured fibers are coarser and spicular. Semi-harsh fibers, of course, have properties intermediate between these extremes.Fankuchen and Schneider ( l) have shown by the use of low-angle X-ray scattering that the diameter of the harsh type of chrysotile fiber is somewhat greater than tha of the soft variety. Surface area measurements on various chrysotiles of different textures tend to confirm their findings. By nitrogen adsorption methods, it was found that the surface areas of soft types of chrysotile asbestos are approximately 23M2 / g whereas for the harsh types they are as low as 11M2/g."

"The integrated vehicle health management (IVHM) aims to provide life cycle management decisions for military platforms and their propulsion systems with reduced life cycle cost and increased operational readiness and safety. Among all the issues of IVHM, understanding the physics of failure and predicting lifetimes of the critical components are at the core: the decision makers have to know when and how components may fail in order to plan ahead. The difficulties to tackle failure problems lie in determining the material response to cyclic and dwell loading in a hot and/or corrosive environment, which all combined to induce multiple deformation and damage mechanisms, resulting in mix-mode failures. Decisions on component replacement (material substitution) and mission planning must be based on quantitative knowledge of the failure physics to mitigating the risk. This paper addresses the critical failure issues including creep, low cycle fatigue (LCF), thermomechanical fatigue (TMF); and presents a mechanism-based approach to life prediction. The mechanism-based approach, by its physics, is widely applicable over the entire operational spectrum of both structures and engines, and therefore is suitable for IVHM purposes."

"IntroductionThis chapter deals with the on land disposal and storage of fine tailing in slurry form behind dams. Other types of tailing, such as coarse dry cobbs from magnetic separation of iron ores and other dry materials, have special problems and are not addressed in this paper. The disposal of mine waste is not included, except as such materials may be of value in the construction activities related to tailing disposal.In earlier North American mining, mines were smaller and frequently disposed of their tailing by direct discharge into neighbouring streams or bodies of water. Where that was not practical or not permitted, the solids were collected in tailing ponds and only the effluent liquids were released or decanted. The dams used for these early impoundments were fragile structures and failures were common. With the advent of large, low-grade open pit mines, and increasing awareness of environmental and safety considerations, recently established mines have carefully-designed tailing disposal systems, with wellconstructed dams and attention given to protection of the environment. Older mines are being improved or at least being examined critically with a view to upgrading as necessary to meet the new standards.Modern tailing disposal systems are highly variable and unique to each mine. Tailing pond selection and design is dependent on available topography as also is the design of transport and water reclaim systems. Suitable sites that are at higher elevations than the mills or distant from them may require that the tailings be pumped. Dams, either earth or rock structures built of the most convenient and economic material, are usually a suitable mix of local borrow, mine waste and coarse tailings. The most economic structures are those built mostly of coarse tailing."

THE Britannia Mining & Smelting Company, Limited, have been operating their property at Britannia Beach, B.C., continuously for nearly forty years and have mined over 33,000,000 tons of ore from orebodies within a belt of highly sheared rocks, five miles long by 2,000 feet wide. The property is in the Coast Range mountains, about twenty miles due north of Vancouver. The mountains rise abruptly from sea level to elevations of 4, 500 feet within a horizontal distance of 7,000 feet. The topography has enabled the orebodies to be developed by adit tunnels. The active mining levels are connected to the adits by incline and vertical service shafts. The main service adits are the 2200, 2700, and 4100 levels (see Figure 1). The mine surface shops, three bunk-houses, and over one hundred dwellings form the townsite camp at the portal of the 2200 level adit. A small camp of one bunk-house and a few dwellings is situated at the 2700 level portal. The beach surface shops and camp, adjacent to the 4100 level adit, service the mill, foundry, and other beach installations as well as the mining from the 4100 level. The ore mined from the various orebodies is delivered to the 4100 main haulage level through a system of rock raises and intermediate tramming levels and is hauled on the 4100 level to the mill.

The composition of phosphate rocks, mainly used in manufacturing fertilizers, varies among deposits; therefore, phosphate rocks from different sources are expected to behave differently in acidulation processes. This paper examines the effect of preconcentration of phosphate ore from El-Sebaiya East, Egypt, using flotation on uranium leaching. A high-grade ore sample (27.3% P2O5, 168 mg/kg U) supplied by the Al-Nasr Mining Company, was subjected to reverse single-stage flotation to separate carbonate from the phosphate sample. Subsequently, P2O5 and U concentrations were 32.2% (92.1% recovery) and 225 mg/kg, respectively. After the leach process, the U concentration in the liquor was 319 mg/L.

The Division is concerned with physical methods as applied to geo-logical research and mapping. An at-tempt is made to describe long-term goals, illustrated by examples of projects in the fields of aeromagnetic interpretation, palaeomagnetic re-search, Pleistocene and groundwater geophysics, seismic surveying, electromagnetic research and instrument development. Cooperative projects in surveys and research, with universities, private companies and provincial organizations, are frequently undertaken. An outstanding example of this is the recently approved Federal-Provincial Aeromagnetic Survey Plan, the purpose of which is discussed both from an economic and a scientific point of view. HISTORY OF THE DIVISION M AGNETIC, electrical, seismic and gravity methods, as a means of extending the geologist's sphere of observation beyond the head of his hammer, came into wide-spread use for the first time after World ?war I. "The word ""instrumentation"" has expanded from its original meaning, which in engineering perhaps referred to measuring apparatus alone. In its broadest form, it now includes sensors, display instrumentation, standard pack-aged controllers and, most recently, the use of stored program computers for on-line process control. The paper traces the evolution, in tutorial form, of the successive application of mechanization, measurement instrumentation, automatic control, central operating systems, programmed control, process computer control, direct digital control and, finally, hierarchies of computers used for process control and corporate management as a fully integrated business system. In the field of industrial minerals, the cement industry has seen the most widespread acceptance of these techniques. Computer control has been accepted as the way of life for the blending of chemical materials and for on-line control of the cement kiln. Accordingly, the cement application is selected for further presentation in the paper. This illustrates the trend progressing from control of single loops on process variables toward the objective of total control of the product quality. The economic justification for instrumentation, centralized control, automatic control and computer control is .discussed with reference to savings in fuel, maintenance, operating labour, depreciation, power and product quality improvements."

"Threshold limit values (TLVs) for NO and NO2 have been reduced drastically in 2016. Emissions of diesel engines have been reduced in the last decades. In many cases this is not enough to stay under required TLVs. Remaining gas in the blasted rock is set free during loading and transport. At the end, only a combination of measures with a further reduction of diesel motor emission, replacement of diesel driven vehicles by electric equipment, new explosives with reduced NO and NO2 production, changes in the organization and effective ventilation measures can ensure that the TLVs are not exceeded. KEYWORDS Blasting fumes, Gas measurement, Gases, Threshold Limit Value (TLV) SHORT HISTORY OF EXTRACTION OF RAW MATERIALS The extraction of raw materials—besides haulage and transport—is one of the main processes in mining and tunneling. The principal objective is the creation of a material which can be transported from the place of extraction (face) to another place for further processing or direct use. Furthermore, recently a desired grain size distribution has become more important. A revolutionary development took place in the course of centuries. With the use of primitive tools like shovels, chisel and iron in the 12th/13th century in Freiberg, ore mines performances of 12 16 cm per man and week could be reached in cross section of 1 m2. Recalculated with an assumed average density, this is a performance of 0.006 t/h. With the introduction of black powder into the subsurface in 1627 by Caspar Weindl in the city of Schemnitz (nowadays Banska Stiavniza), performances increased. A part of the hard extraction work was now done by the explosives. But first in 1767, it was recognized in a mine in Freiberg that more than 1 hole could be drilled (hand-drilling) and blasted. This discovery was so important that a plate with an inscription describes this event. The performance was increased more than 10 times compared to the extraction with chisel and iron. Since this time, drilling and blasting has been the most important innovation force for the increase of the performance. Problems with noxious blasting fumes led to the construction of the first tunneling machine by Henry Joseph Mouse in 1846 (beside shield machines from 1825) (Stack, 1982)). The triumph of mining machines started only interrupted by the two world wars. The development of hard rock boring machines (including roadheaders) was enforced after 1945. An almost complete extraction by hard rock boring machines was predicted for the turn of the millennium. And, indeed, one could find powerful machines in Canadian potash mines which were able to mine 1000 t of potash in 1 hour. That was an increase in the performance by several powers of ten. But already in the 1980s, it was recognized that the ambiguous goal could not be reached. Problems with wear of the tools, radius of curves, minimal length of openings, size and costs of the machines led to a more or less parity between drilling and blasting on one side and machines on the other side, of course depending on the field of use. For this reason, drilling and blasting is still the dominant extraction technology for raw materials. In the development of drilling and blasting technologies, the focus was mainly on the improvement of the safety but also on the increase of the blasting power and performance. Examples are tests for the increase of the power of ANFO explosives which were carried out in the 1970s and 1980s, in the former teaching mine “Reiche Zeche”. In the 1980s vehicles for loading and mixing of ANFO explosives have been developed, the blasting cab sensitivity of ANFO has been increased, emulsion explosives have been developed and up to now further developments like PMMA LOX EX explosives are on the way. At the turn of the millennium, 6 million t/a explosives have been used worldwide. Annual rates of increase of 2% have been predicted (Weyer, 1999). In this work we assessed the geochemical behavior of concentrator tailings deposited at the abandoned mines of Zeida and Mibladen (Upper Moulouya, Morocco), using physico-chemical analyses, mineralogical characterization, acid base accounting and weathering cell tests. The aim of the study was to evaluate mine drainage quality and to assess metal mobility from these concentrator tailings. Chemical analyses show that the Upper-Moulouya abandoned tailings contain relatively high quantities of lead (0.261 to 0.594 % wt). Mineralogical analyses reveal the abundance of neutralizing minerals (calcite, dolomite, ankerite, and aluminosilicates) which influence mine drainage and metal mobility in mine tailings. Leachate analyses from weathering cell tests show alkaline conditions, small conductivity values, and low solubility of Pb-mineral phases. According to these results, abandoned mine tailings in the Upper-Moulouya district have very low potential for generation of contaminated mine drainage and for leaching of heavy metals. However, the inhalation of tailings exposed to winds generate dust problem facing the local population and may cause health consequences.

"IntroductionTHE LYNN LAKE MINE, situated in Manitoba about 150 miles north of Sherridon, has been actively developed by Sherritt Gordon Mines, Limited, during the past seven years, resulting in the establishment of a proven reserve of over 14,000,000 tons of ore containing 1.223 per cent nickel, 0.618 per cent copper, and additional cobalt values. For many years, the Sherritt Gordon Company operated a copper-zinc-gold mine at Sherridon but, as this mine was approaching exhaustion and as it was proposed to use the mining and milling equipment to treat the Lynn Lake ore, a number of unusual problems were faced in transferring plant and operations from the one mine to the other, and particularly in preparing to undertake nickel production.Preliminary investigation showed that the ore could be concentrated by flotation to produce a copper concentrate containing 28 to 30 per cent copper with less than 1 per .cent nickel, and a nickel concentrate containing 11 to 14 per cent nickel, 0.3 to 0.4 per cent cobalt, and less than 2 per cent .copper, with high recovery of the three metals in .the concentrates. It was apparent that, initially, the copper concentrate could be economically smelted and refined in the usual manner. But as the nickel concentrate contained an insignificant amount of precious metals (less than 0.02 oz. per ton) and as .it had a much higher nickel content than comparable concentrates normally produced from sulphide ores, the selection of a treatment process and the location of a plant required careful study."

"The primary purpose of conducting aeromagnetic surveys in mineral areas, and interpreting the data thus obtained, is to aid in the extrapolation of the geology from known to unknown areas-both in a horizontal and vertical direction. This paper describes one of the steps in the process of interpretation which has, in the past, been neglected-that of mathematically or quantitatively treating the data in two-dimensional map form. For this, several techniques are available.These techniques determine the downward and up-ward continuation fields, the second vertical derivatives and the fields reduced to the pole from the total magnetic field data. Second vertical derivatives and downward continuation fields increase the resolution and sharpness in the observed magnetic anomalies and tend to outline the surface traces of causative bodies with a reasonable amount of success in most cases. The 'reduction to the pole' is a mathematical process of calculating the field at the north pole from the observed field so that the un-desirable effects of the dip and declination of the earth's field and of rock magnetization are eliminated.New and accurate means of carrying out these calculations have been developed by the Geological Survey of Canada. In this paper are also presented the results of a method for obtaining the symbol and numerical map of the processed data with the help of the printer associated with the computer. The tedious work of digitizing magnetic field values in a map can be speeded up by the use of a semi-automatic coordinatograph, with the aid of which field values can be accurately transferred to punched cards."

Located in the James Bay Territory of Quebec (figure 1), the Clearwater property is jointly owned by SOQUEM Inc. and Eastmain Resources Inc. Exploration on the property since the early 70's has resulted in the discovery of several gold showings. Exploration work by the joint venture since 1995 has led to the definition of the Eau Claire Zone containing an indicated resource of 540 000 tonnes grading 11.1 g/t Au (8.7 g/t Au cut at 34.28 g/t Au). Hosted by the archean Eastmain Greenstone Belt, the property geology is dominated by mafic volcanics containing thin horizons of felsic volcanics and/or sedimentary rocks (figure 2). The sequence is metamorphosed to the amphibolite facies and contains two small toalitic intrusions. Regionally, the structural trend is oriented E-W but in the area of the Eau Claire Zone a second trend oriented NE-SW is also present. The first exploration work on the property was conducted by SEREM and SDBJ from 1973 to 1976. It consisted of an airborne electromagnetic survey and a ground follow-up program on several grids. This program, comprising geological mapping, geophysics and drilling, led to the discovery of the Natel showing where a drill intersection returned 8.89 g/t Au over 2.65 m. From 1978 to 1985 the area was withdrawn from staking because of the hydroelectric projects of the James Bay. In 1985, Westmin Resources Limited and Eastmain Resources began an exploration program based on a helicopterborne electromagnetic survey. Once again, a ground follow-up program was conducted on several grids. This program included a soil geochemical survey that identified a strong (up to 10 g/t) gold anomaly. Drilling of the anomaly led to the discovery of the Eau Claire Zone where resources were estimated at 270 000 tonnes grading 6.1 g/t Au at the end of 1990. In 1995, SOQUEM Inc. took an option to gain a 50% interest on the property and obtained its interest in 1998. Since 1995, two principal mineralization zones were identified on the property. The "Rosemary Zone" consists of veinlets and disseminations of pyrite and chalcopyrite within a magnetite-rich amphibolite. The mineralized zone was identified by stripping within an area of 1000 by 500 metres. Drilling indicates copper grades up to 0.32 % Cu over 49.2 m. with locally grades of 0.75 % Cu over 5.9 m. The mineralised zone is associated with QFP dykes and corresponds to a strong magnetic anomaly and a strong copper and molybdenum soil anomaly. The "Eau Claire Zone" consists principally of a set of gold bearing quartz-tourmaline veins oriented E-W and dipping at 45-50??to the south (figure 3). More than ten different veins are recognised in the zone and up to eight veins were observed in a single trench (figure 4). The host rock between the veins shows a degree of deformation similar to the regional volcanosedimentary rocks. Each vein is hosted by a unit of actinolite-tourmaline-biotite schist up to one meter thick. The veins and their hosting schist clearly cross-cut the schistosity of the hosting lithologies and the contacts between amphibolites and felsic to intermediate rocks. Usually, the veins are less than a meter thick and are composed of quartz, tourmaline and calcite. The proportion of quartz and tourmaline varies from 0 to 80% within a single vein. The veins commonly show massive, banded or brecciated texture. Sulphides, mainly pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite, generally form less than 5% of the vein material.
