Few, if any, of the non-ionizing radiation health hazards to be found in either surface or underground coal mining are uniquely different because of their being found in the work environment. Hence, they can be considered generally for their bio-effects on the worker when found in the mining work environment. The same may not be said, however, for the lack of non-ionizing radiation and its bio-effects, particularly as it relates to underground coal mining. The term "non-ionizing radiation" refers to various forms of electromagnetic radiation of wavelengths longer than those of ionizing radiation. As the wavelength gets longer the energy of electromagnetic radiation decreases. Therefore, all non-ionizing forms of radiation have less energy than cosmic, gamma, and X-radiation. In order of increasing wavelength, non-ionizing radiation includes ultraviolet, visible light, infrared, microwave, and radiofrequency radiations. The energy frequency and wavelength range of both the ionizing and non-ionizing electromagnetic forces are shown in Table I. To convert the wavelengths of various radiations to Ångström units, one multiplies millimicrons by ten. In a vacuum, all electromagnetic radiation has the same velocity, namely 3 x 1010 centimeters per second. The natural source of radiant energy here on earth is our sun which emits radiation continuously over a wide spectrum. This radiation on average reaching earth ranges from 290 nm in the ultraviolet range to over 2,000 nm in the infrared range with a maximum intensity of about 480 nm in the visual range. You will note this falls into the visible blue wavelength and accounts for our blue sky and blue ocean and deep water effects. We are all familiar with the fact that the passage of solar radiation through the atmosphere to the earth changes the spectrum considerably because the atmosphere absorbs and scatters many of the sun's rays. The ozone in the upper atmosphere absorbs the shorter ultraviolet wavelengths and water vapor absorbs some of the infrared wavelengths. Smoke, dust particles, gas molecules and water droplets scatter the rays, especially those of shorter wavelengths. In addition to the sun, every gas, liquid or solid object at a temperature above absolute 0° radiates energy. Solid objects emit almost continuous spectra. At low temperatures only radiation of the longer wavelengths in the infrared range is emitted, but as the temperature of the object is increased, more and more of the shorter wavelengths are added. This fact is most readily demonstrated by heating a piece of steel. When a piece of steel reaches a temperature of about 1,700° Fahrenheit, it gives off radiation at the red end of the visible spectrum and appears dull red. As the temperature is further increased, the shorter rays are also emitted, until at about 2,100°F, the metal appears white, due to the emission of wavelengths throughout the entire visible range. Gasses, on the other hand, when heated emit radiant energy only at certain wavelengths, which are characteristic of their chemical structure. This latter fact is of importance in underground coal mining as high intensity gas and vapor lamps are becoming more and more utilized for illumination in underground coal mining. The biologic effect of non-ionizing radiation exposure depends upon the type and duration of exposure and on the amount of absorption by the miner. The effects of this radiant energy on the miner fall into four distinct types: (1) the heating effect of infrared radiation, (2) the effect on the eye of visible radiation, (3) the effects of ultraviolet radiation, and (4) the growing potential effects of the misuse of microwave radiation. Each non-ionizing type of radiation will be considered individually. ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION The sun is the major source of ultraviolet radiation, which is of concern in open pit and surface mining at certain seasons and in certain climes necessitating protection for the surface miners under those conditions; nonetheless, there are some man-made sources such as electric arc lights, welding arcs, plasma jets, and special ultraviolet bulbs for illumination underground that demand surveillance in the underground environment to be aware of whether the miners are at risk above the threshold limit values allowable. Since ultraviolet radiation has little penetrating power, the organs that are affected are the skin and the eyes. Ultraviolet radiation is strongly absorbed by nucleic acids and proteins, and the effects in man are largely chemical rather than thermal. Short-term effects on miners include acute changes in the skin. These are of four types: (a) darkening of pigment, (b) erythema (sunburn), (c) increase in pigmentation (tanning) and (d) changes in cell growth. Ultraviolet radiation also causes acute effects on the tissues of the eye. Overexposure can lead to keratitis, inflammation of the cornea, and conjunctivitis. Long-term effects of ultraviolet exposure include an increase in the rate of ageing of the skin with degeneration of skin tissue and a decrease in elasticity. Late effects of ultraviolet on the eye include the development of cataracts. The most serious chronic effect of ultraviolet exposure is skin cancer. Ultraviolet radiation effects are increased by some industrial materials and drugs. After exposure to such compounds as cresols, the skin is exceptionally sensitive to ultraviolet radiation. Photosensitivity reactions occur after exposure to a variety of other chemicals and drugs including dyes, phenothiazines, sulfonamides, and sulfanylureas. Several wall rock porphyry or pyrometascmatic copper deposits occur within the metamorphosed Paleozoic formations along the northern and eastern flanks of the Little Dragoon Mountains. Rocks ranging in age from Precambrian to Recent occur in the area. The Tertiary age Texas Canyon Quartz Monzonite intruded the sedimentary section in the eastern half of the range metamorphosing the Paleozoic carbonate units to tactites composed of garnet, diopside, and tremolite. Copper, zinc, and molybdenum minerals deposited in sites which are structurally controlled and stratigraphically favorable. Because the deposits are covered by alluvium, the information on structure, alteration, and mineralization is based upon a study of the diamond drilling programs. The mineralized district can be divided into four areas: 1) The Johnson Camp copper-zinc deposits; 2) The Dragoon copper deposit; 3) The I-10 copper-molybdenum deposit; 4) The Strong & Harris copper-zinc deposit. On the southwest end of the range beneath alluvial cover, the Cretaceous Bisbee Group was thrust over Precambrian and Paleozoic formations. The Tertiary Texas Canyon Quartz Monzonite intruded and metamorphosed them. In the upper plate, the Cretaceous sediments near the intrusive were metamorphosed to metaquartzite and andalusite and sillimanite schists. In the lower plate the Martin and Horquilla formations were marbleized. The lower Abrigo was metamorphosed to epidote rich calc-silicate tactites and biotite hornfels. A composite geologic cross section, based upon diamond drilling,, through the Dragoon copper deposit is shown in Fig. 1. The geologic events which formed this deposit are: 1. A faulted section of Precambrian Pioneer formation and diabase and Cambrian Bolsa and Abrigo formations was thrust over Pennsylvanian Horquilla formation. Data used to build geostatistical models come from a wide variety of sources with potentially differing sample errors and volume supports. Typically all available sample measurements are pooled together for statistical analysis irrespective of the quality of the data. The sample data is used to assess spatial continuity, make local estimates and assess uncertainty. A new methodology is proposed to simplify accounting for samples of differing quality. The result is improved estimates with higher weights assigned to high-quality samples, while low-quality samples receive less influence in resource estimation. A new dimension, d, is introduced and calibrated to account for sample error and/or volume during estimation. The addition of an extra dimension can be easily incorporated in existing kriging or inverse distance workflows. The only additional parameters required are the sample error and volume for each datum. The methodology is demonstrated and the improvement in local accuracy is documented. Extending the dimensionality of the domain to four (three spatial dimensions and the additional d dimension) requires a valid 4D variogram model; therefore, the spherical variogram model is generalized to arbitrary n-dimensions.

INTRODUCTION Anticipated increase of nuclear fuel production in the future coincides with growing concern about the occupational health risk of miners from inhaled radon decay products. As a consequence it has been suggested to even lower presently permitted exposure levels (NIOSH, 1980) and implement more stringent control on measurement programmes. Compliance with these regulations requires large investments in new or modified ventilation systems as well as in increased expenditure for staff and instrumentation for health physics operational monitoring. Since both costs are directly related to the overall ore production costs, this can have far reaching implications with regards to the economic feasibility of certain mining operations and consequently reduce estimates of low-cost minable ore reserves. In addition there is increasing evidence that the radon problem is not limited to the nuclear fuel cycle only, but can also represent a significant hazard to non-uranium miners. A key component in the cost-effective implementation of legislative control measures is the monitoring system employed. The choice of system is decisive for the total costs of installation and maintenance, manpower requirements and accuracy of nuclide determination. In the following operational specifications are defined for monitors in mining and milling environments. Different types of available instrumentation are discussed with regard to their suitability for practical radiation protection in underground mines, open cut mines and mills. ATMOSPHERIC CHARACTERISTICS Underground mines Radon in the air of underground mining operations is exhaled from surrounding rock surfaces, crushed material and, to a lesser extent, from water seepage. Whilst in uranium mines radon releasing ore bodies are generally localized in distinct areas, radon sources in non-uranium mines can be very dispersed throughout the system of mine tunnels. The ventilation scheme used influences the absolute atmospheric level of radon as well as the equilibrium conditions between radon and its decay products (factor F). In uranium mines mechanical forced-air ventilation is normally the only way to achieve and maintain legally required nuclide levels. This causes the F-factor to be rather low, e.g. in French CFA-mines F is of the order of 0.2 (Francois, Pradel, Zettwoog, 1975). At the same time the fraction of unattached radon decay products (fp) can increase due to the high air velocities employed. However, it is possible to find non-uranium mines with either natural draught ventilation only or assisted on demand by forced air ventilation during special operations or climatic conditions. Thereby the F-factor is more dependent on seasonal changes of temperature differences between outdoors and mine atmosphere and work routines. As a result F can cover a wide range from 0.02 to 0.95 (Steinhäusler, 1976). The use of filters or electro-precipitators in mine ventilation systems can modify the atmospheric characteristics twofold as it generally decreases the content of radon decay products, but at the same time increases the content of the unattached fraction fp . Average concentration levels of radon decay products are mostly lower in mechanically ventilated non-uranium mines than in equally ventilated uranium mines and are below 0.3 Working Level (UNSCEAR, 1977). However, some working places in non-uranium mines, specially with only natural draught ventilation can occassionally approach maximum permissible levels as defined for uranium mines (Strong, Laidlaw, O&apos;Riordan, 1975; Snihs, 1976; Sciocchetti, Scacco, Clemente, 1981). Open pit- and surface mines Radionuclide levels of radon decay products in the atmosphere of these mines are mostly too low to represent a significant inhalation hazard for miners, ranging typically from 0.03 to 0.1 Working Level (Steinhäusler, 1976). However, personnel using airpurifying respirators or working in cabins ventilated with filtered air can be exposed to a radon atmosphere with low value for the F-factor (F [<] 0.1) and high fp-value up to 80 % (Leach and Lokan, 1979). Mills Atmospheric radon concentration in crushing, grinding, drying and packing sections depends on the radium 226 content of the ore, ore storage methods and ventilation system employed. Providing adequate ventilation ([>] 2 air changes per hour) and control of dust production radon and its decay products represent only a minor problem (Saconney, 1979). Maintaining, managing and manipulating large quantities of geologic data can be a very costly and time-consuming process. The use of computer-based methods can provide some relief to the problems of editing, displaying, and interpreting spatial geological data. ENCORE is a system designed specifically for coal orebody modeling and reserve esitmation where the geologic data is stored on a large mainframe computer and is accessed from a local work station for editing, manipulating, and producing various reports and high-quality engineering maps. The ENCORE system was designed for use by the geologist or mining engineer with little or no computer background and, additionally, it was designed to provide the geologist or mining engineer enough flexibility to be able to select the appropriate methodology for the orebody being analyzed. The various analysis tools incorporated into ENCORE can significantly increase the professional&apos;s productivity without burdening he or she with the need to understand the details of the internal computer language.

In 1988, the National Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) published an information bulletin stating that whole diesel exhaust should be considered a probable carcinogen. Since then, regulations across Canada and the United States (Mine Safety and Health Administration, MSHA) have looked at appropriate exposure limits for underground mine workers. In Canada, an interim standard of 1.5 mg/m3 Respirable Combustible Dust (RCD) has been adopted by some provinces and is being looked at by others. MSHA is considering levels as low as 0.5 mg/m3 soot. Golden Giant, being aware of regulatory developments, decided to look at means of reducing diesel particulate on thier large production machinery. This machinery (LHDs and haulage trucks) is powered by Detroit Diesel 71N Series engines and is used to produce 3000 tonnes of ore/day with a longhole mining technique. Having looked at the various control technologies, it was decided to evaluate the potential of using diesel particulate filters with a copper-based fuel additive for regeneration (the process by which collected particulate is burned off). This paper outlines the control technology used and the results of the field evaluation indicating the benefits to the underground mine worker.

Bong Mining Co. Ltd. in Liberia, West Africa, operates an iron ore open pit some 60 miles northeast of Monrovia. The production is at present about 40,000 t/d (metric tons/day) from which about 18,500 t/d concentrate with 65.5% Fe is produced. The ore waste ratio is about 1: 1.5 to 1:2. The technical layout and the equipment are very similar to those in many modern open-pit operations as described by Jacobs and Thomson (1967). As described by Lersch in detail (1966), the deposit is a very irregular one. The quality of the ore changes within very short distances with regard to both physical conditions (hardness) and chemical properties. Very soft and very hard ore as well as high-grade and low-grade ore are found adjacent to each other. In addition, there are enclosures of sterile rocks. For the purpose of identification and production scheduling, 12 different types of ore are distinguished.

A current program of research on the explosibility of coal dust/methane mixtures is described. During the study an explosion test chamber based on a novel design has been developed. This 20 litre open chamber uses a rotating drum concept for dust dispersion and infra-red sensors for dust concentration measurement. The chamber design allows different initiators to be tested while varying methane gas and coal dust concentrations. A new approach to the determination of coal dust concentration is included with a description of a dielectric dust probe. The measurement technique is based on the change in dielectric constant as the proportion of coal dust in air between probe capacitor plates increases or decreases. Characterization of coal dust samples is of vital importance. The particle size distribution, coal proximate analysis and elemental analysis were studied. Coal dust was sourced from airborne collected samples, settled dust from mine sources and seam channel samples crushed and sized. Explosibility test results indicate that a very low concentration of coal dust can form an explosible mixture when dispersed in methane concentration of just below five percent. With low temperature initiators, the coal dust lean limit concentration rises rapidly as the methane concentration is reduced. An accurate knowledge of the potential explosion hazards of coal dust and coal dust/methane mixture is necessary to establish safe operating conditions in underground mines. The research results outlined extend knowledge in this area.

Reconstruction of historical exposures to silica dust is required in an ongoing cohort mortality study of workers in the diatomaceous earth (DE) industry. However, historical data were collected using three different sampling methods. This study was conducted to derive empirical quantitative relationships from linear regression equations between the three methods: standard impinger, total mass, and respirable mass. Dust from one diatomaceous earth processing plant was sampled simultaneously by all three methods. Results from 61 clusters of the three sampling devices indicate that the phcle size distribution of the dust varies with the two parent products sampled. baghouse product and main product. The relationships between particle counts and respirable mass are: Respirable mass (mg/m3) = 0.064 (mppd) impinger count for baghouse product dust, and respirable mass (mg/m3) = 0.018 (mppcf) impinger count for main product dust. The relationships between particle counts and total mass are: Total mass (mg/m3) = 0.837 (mppcf) impinger count for baghouse product, and total mass (mg/m3) = 1.21 (mppcf) for main product dust. In all four euuations, the intercept did not differ significantly from zero, and the correlation coefficients ranged from 0.90 to 0.95. Results are compared with data from four previously published studies.

The US Bureau of Mines (USBM) recently developed a rock-mass classification system for evaluating the structural competency of bedded roof strata. The system is called the coal-mine roof rating (CMRR), When compiled with the companion Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet, CMRR data are a useful tool with applications to longwall gate-road pillar design, safety-hazard mapping and artificial roof-support analysis. This paper gives a review of some applications under actual conditions found in current US mining operations.

Modes of microbial attack of metal carbonates, metal silicates, metal oxides and metal sulfides are summarized. The current status of microbial redox mechanisms, whereby metals in metal oxides and sulfides are mobilized, is discussed. Opposing theories of a single mode of attack involving interaction with a microbially produced reductant or oxidant in the bulk phase and of dual modes of attack involving a reaction requiring physical contact between microbe and mineral surface on the one hand and microbial production of a reductant or oxidant in the bulk phase that reacts with the mineral on the other hand are considered. No one mode when finally completely unraveled should be expected to fit all cases. Some biochemical, electronmicroscopic and spectrophotometric approaches for elucidation of missing details of different modes are suggested. As production of ground limestone increased our Company found it had an enviromental problem with limestone dust from our hammer mills. With the quarry and processing plant situated within 1 klm of a small township of 5000 people dust collection became essential. Regulations under the Clean Air Act 1972 also had to be complied with. Prior to this any demand for lime flour had been met by the use of a small drier and ball mill. Both expensive to operate. Dust emitting from the mills would amount to over 4000 tonnes per year. The cost savings were obvious. We had a better product which was essentially a by-product. Faced with a surplus of a very useful, but difficult product to handle we considered the possibility of disposing of it on the agricultural market.

The identification of the real internal rates of return (IRR&apos;s) of a project is essential for its economic evaluation. The existing methods for the calculation of IRR&apos;s are both cumbersome and unreliable, mainly because of their inability to effectively isolate the real IRR&apos;s and incapability of discovering multiple IRR&apos;s of even multiplicity. In this paper, a concept of the &apos;cash flow pattern tree used for isolation of the real IRR&apos;s of a project is presented. This concept, combined with the Sturm procedure for counting the real distinct zeros of a polynomial within a specified interval, leads to the development of a method and computer program for isolation and calculation of the real IRR&apos;s of a project. The method examines whether or not real IRR&apos;s exist, and if they do, isolates them within bounded and narrow intervals in a mathematically founded way. The isolated IRR&apos;s, whether simple or multiple, are subsequently calculated either directly or by means of an appropriate approximation procedure. Numerical examples assist the development of the method and the corresponding computer algorithm. Because any Net Present Value treated as a function of interest rate can easily be transformed into a polynomial, the method presented also constitutes a method for finding the real zeros of a polynomial.

The U.S. Bureau of Mines recently conducted a limited-scope study on the use of lineament analysis and electromagnetic geophysics to better identify the surface expressions of faults at the Cimmaron Mine near Raton, NM, an operating longwall mine in the York Canyon mine complex. Two normal faults were encountered by the mine, one during gate road development and drilling and another only through drilling. The potential ground control problems and offsets associated with these faults will severely impact long-range development plans, so it is essential to know the lateral extent of these faults within the coal reserves. The surface topography at the site is fairly rugged, yet outcrop exposure is poor. There is no obvious visible geologic evidence to indicate that the faults identified at depth extend to the surface. Both the geophysical and remote sensing techniques provided information on the presence and extent of important geologic structures which could not be gained just from drilling and surface outcrops. The geophysical surveys also were invaluable in confirming the presence of subsurface geologic structures in the vicinity of the lineaments assumed to be associated with the faulting.

Several series of time-instantaneous samples were taken on a cell-by-cell basis in the flotation circuits of the Pinto Valley, AZ copper concentrator. These samples were used to calculate mass flow rates throughout the circuit using standard, deterministic metallurgical formulae and also a variety of more statistically oriented techniques. Because of the magnitude of the errors associated with the individual cell samples, the standard metallurgical formulae are not sufficient. Consequently, it is necessary to utilize some type of statistical technique capable of distributing the individual cell sample errors in such a way so as to provide a physically useful mass balance for the entire circuit. This paper explores the use of linear and least squares programming as one technique to providing credible mass balance calculations. For linear programming this was done by distributing the error using two different criteria involving specific linear programming formulations: least absolute sum minimization (which assumes an underlying double exponential distribution error structure) and minimax (which minimizes the maximum absolute deviation and assumes an underlying rectangular distribution error structure). These results were then compared to the more standard formulation of minimization of the sum of least squares which assumes an underlying normal distribution error structure. The least absolute sum approach was particularly attractive due to its simplicity of use and the ease in which repetitive calculations can be done with no user intervention.

Introduction A well-designed mining plan is one that minimizes cost and mining induced problems and maximizes recovery of the coal reserve. To minimize the negative effects on surface structures caused by ground subsidence due to underground mining activities, two kinds of practices are commonly employed by mine operators. One is the support technique, which leaves an area of coal unmined or partially mined beneath the structure to be supported. The other is the protection technique, which protects the structure when it is subsiding with the ground by taking advantage of the ground subsidence process (Luo et al., 1992). In designing the supporting technique, the only currently available method in the US is the one stated in the Pennsylvania Underground Coal Mining Rules (1985). However, the size of the support area designed by this method will be excessively large and result in a wasteful use of coal reserves when the overburden depth is more than 350 ft. A more scientific method is proposed in this paper for designing the support area. This method is based on a large amount of subsidence data collected throughout a number of major US coal fields and the authors&apos; experience with monitoring and protecting surface structures that have been undermined by longwall panels. It considers the critical deformation indices that a structure can tolerate, and depth and height of underground extraction. A support area designed by this new method will not only assure the safety of the structure to be supported but will also maximize the extraction of the coal reserve. Design of support area using the Pennsylvania rules The Pennsylvania Underground Coal Mining Rules (1985) state that no underground mining activity should be permitted beneath structures where the overburden depth is less than 100 ft. An exception to these rules is provided for mine related openings that provide access to the surface for such as entries, shafts, boreholes and site-specific variances for entry development. If the overburden depth is greater than 100 ft, the mine operators should utilize either of the following: •Extraction techniques that provide for planned subsidence in a predictable and controlled manner, or •Support techniques designed to prevent subsidence damages to features identified as: •Public buildings and non-commercial structures [ ] customarily used by the public, including churches, schools and hospitals • Dwellings, cemeteries, municipal public service operations and municipal utilities in place on April 27,1966 •Impoundments and other water bodies with a storage capacity of 20 acre-ft or more • Aquifers, perennial streams and water bodies that serve as a significant source for a public water supply system, and •Coal refuse disposal areas. The support techniques require that a support area be left beneath the surface structure or feature to be protected (Fig.1). The support area should consist of coal pillars, with their size and pattern being such that their bearing strength is maximized. The total coal extraction within the support area should be limited to a maximum of 50%. The support area should be rectangular in shape and determined by projecting a line at a 15° angle from the surface to the coal seam with an offset distance of 15 ft from all sides of the structure. A fluorite ore (51.85 % CaF2) containing high contents of calcite, quartz and iron oxides was upgraded by flotation using a new reagent, oleoyl sarcosine (OS). In addition, quebracho and sodium silicate were used as depressants for calcite and quartz, respectively. The effect of pH, collector and depressants concentrations on grade and recovery was determined with the aim of optimizing the flotation conditions. Application of the two-stage cleaning achieved a concentrate assaying 92.17 % CaF2 with 80.1 % recovery. The Si02 content (0.76 %) was below the required level of 1 % SiO2. The mechanism of interaction between OS and fluorite, as compared to oleic acid, is also elucidated based on the zeta potential measurements.

The study of the apatite deposits of the Aldan Shield shows wide spread of the Precambrian apatite-carbonate ores and possibilities of using them for extraction of apatite. Dependency of flotation on ore minerals was studied according to the following scheme: preparation of the monomineralic samples of anhydrite, gypsum, chlorite, serpentine, phlogopite, apatite; mixing them in apatite ore of the average composition; followed by flotation. Another series of the experiments was conducted to ascertain a dependence of flotation activity of the different minerals on the different flotation reagents, which were used as collectors. It has been shown that apatite from silicate-carbonate ores is most extractable because it has the biggest size of grains and is the most free of inclusions. Beneficiation of the sulphate-containing apatite-carbonate rocks is possible when flotol - 7.9 is used as a collector. Meanwhile, the use of the tallaktam leads to an increase in the sulphate recovery. The estimation of individual technological features of the layered Mghydrosilicates and their influence on the process of beneficiation has been examined using samples of apatite-dolomite ore (P205-8%) with the addition of the phlogopite, serpentine and chlorite. The results show that there is little influence of the chlorite presence on the flotation while the serpentine presence leads to a decrease of the flotation, because of its high specific surface area.

Many gold ores which are not only submicroscopic but also rich in arsenic and organic carbon, for example Dongbeizhai Mine, have been found in china. These ores belong to the most refractory ores The key to the recovery of gold from these ores is preoxidation. Dongbeizhai ores have been tested with biooxidation, chlorination, double oxidation, acidic and alkaline pressure oxidation, catalytic oxidation, NITROX and roasting. To date it appears that either roasting or pressure oxidation is optimal. It is suggested that the flotation-roasting (or pressure oxidation)-CIL process should be used to treat this type of ore.

Injection of alkaline waste-lime slurry was performed at a West Virginia surface coal mine site, to attempt neutralization of acid springs by an alkaline recharge method. Deep trenching (>5 m) using an excavator yielded the most effective injection into the aquifer. Water from two springs, 90 m from the deep trench, showed 70%-80% reduction in acidity in response to injection. Neutralization persisted >170 days after treatment, with pH between 5.1-5.7 and metal acidity from 25-60 mg/L. A minor fraction of lime introduced was consumed. The sustained neutralization is attributed to reaction of acid water with subsurface lime, entrained below the wafer table by macropore infiltration. Characteristics of groundwater transport are critical in determining recharge structure location.
