THE effects of tin on steel have become increasingly important because of the necessity of using poorly detinned scrap, tin cans, and terne plate, in the open hearth. Since a tin can contains about 1.5 per cent tin, it would be possible to have up to 0.75 per cent tin in steel made with a 50 per cent scrap charge. In order to use tin-containing scrap, it is necessary to know the effect of tin on various grades of steel. The following investigation is by no means comprehensive but covers a number of steels in which tin content is important. PUBLISHED WORK A number of investigations of the effects of tin on rolling quality and physical properties have been published. It has been found that tin increases strength and hardness and reduces ductility and notched impact resistance. The decrease in ductility and notched impact resistance becomes more marked as the carbon decreases. McKimm1 found no change in Olsen ductility, Rockwell hardness, yield strength, tensile strength or elongation in cold-reduced strip containing up to 0.124 per cent tin. A tin content of 0.15 per cent gave difficulties in rolling and increased the hardness but 0.21 per cent tin showed no change in properties from material containing very little tin. No explanation of this contradiction is offered. Andrew and Peile2 investigated steels containing 0.01 to 0.25 per cent carbon and up to 0.63 per cent tin. They found an increase in tensile strength of from 100 to 200 lb. per sq. in. for each 0.01 per cent tin on normalized samples. The elongation and reduction of area were decreased and the notched impact resistance was reduced markedly. Quenched and drawn samples did not show embrittling if water-quenched from the draw temperature of 1148°F. (620°C.). They could find no evidence of tin under the microscope. Whitely and Braithwaite3 investigated the effect of tin on rail steel containing 0.55 to 0.06 per cent carbon. They found that 0.08 per cent tin caused a marked decrease in elongation, notched impact resistance and the degree of bend. The tensile strength was increased in some tests and not in others. Bolsover and Barraclough4 investigated the effect of tin up to 0.50 per cent on a 0.35 per cent carbon steel and on several alloy steels with from 0.30 to 0.40 per cent carbon. They found a comparatively uniform decrease in notched impact resistance with increasing tin on quenched and drawn samples. If the samples were quenched from the drawing temperature or reheated to the drawing temperature and quenched, the embrittling was much less severe. Steels containing molybdenum suffered much less embrittlement than other steels. EXPERIMENTAL WORK Effect of Tin on Low-carbon Rimmed Steel Increasing quantities of tin were added to four ingots of a heat of the following ladle analysis: carbon, 0.08 per cent; manganese, 0.39; phosphorus, 0.009; sulphur, 0.025.

The relation between the properties of electric logs and the fluid used in drilling a well is briefly discussed in this paper, and the fact that the resistivity of the drilling mud and its filtrate can appreciably affect such logs is shown. Apparatus was designed and a procedure established to determine the effect of various factors on the resistivity of drilling mud. Five muds commonly employed in California were tested and the following observations were made: I. The effect of raising the temperature from 80°F. to 180°F. is to decrease the resis-tiviiy of the mud or filtrate approximately 50 per cent. 2. The resistivity of the mud in most cases closely approximates that of its filtrate. 3, The change in the resistivities of muds caused by the addition of chemical is not the same function of the amount of chemical added for each mud. 4. The effect produced by increased sodium chloride content is to reduce markedly the resistivity of the mud and its filtrate. 5. Weighting materials, such as Baroid and limestone, tend to increase the resistivity of drilling mud. 6, Cement and counteracting reagents reduce mud resistivity. Introduction During recent years, the practice of "electrically logging9' a geologic formation by means of a system of electrodes lowered in a well bore has provided data of inestimable value concerning the nature of the sediments penetrated. Thus, it is generally possible, by means of electric logs, to distinguish readily the differences between shales, sandstones, cherts, limestones, and other rock forms. The distinguishing characteristics recorded in this manner have made possible long-range and closely detailed mapping and visualization of deeply buried structures1-5 to a degree not to be obtained with a reasonable expenditure of money by any other means at present in use. Besides being of value in correlation work, electric logs have been found, in some instances, to be useful in estimating the nature of fluid contained within the pores of a rock. In special cases, even the relative permeabilities at different horizons have been determined.6 That electric logs should reflect in some measure such physical properties of rocks as porosity and permeability and, in addition, give rise to data pertaining to the fluid content of rock interstices, becomes evident when the conditions giving rise to the electrical phenomena measured are known. However, it is not the purpose of this paper to review the present status of electric logging; rather, the reader is referred to the papers cited on page 220 for the principles and practice involved. A test of any fan requires the determination of such data as fan pressure, air volume handled by the fan, and power input to the fen shaft. When testing operating mine fans of the centrifugal type, test methods have been employed, for the sake of convenience, that permit great latitude in detail of procedure resulting in wide variance in results by different investigators. Some controversial aspects of field fan testing are the result of past failure to define clearly the various forms of fan pressure and to a lack of understanding of the accurate procedure for the measurement thereof. Also, the anemometer for air-volume measurement, although convenient, if carelessly used and maintained is subject to a wide error range with variation in method of application and in instrument accuracy. The appearance of the axial-flow type of mine fan offers the possibility of refinements in field testing that were impractical with the centrifugal fan. First of all, the fan inlet and outlet are more sharply defined, giving closer agreement as to just where the fan begins and ends; thus there is less disagreement as to the proper location for measurements of fan pressure. The area of passage into the inlet of an axial-flow mine fan usually constricts, causing high air velocities with accompanying steadiness of flow. Thus the fan inlet offers an ideal location for accurate air-volume measurements with the pitot tube, the proper use of which is well established by code. Thereby the controversial aspects of such measurements are eliminated. Use of the Pitot tube also facilitates a more accurate measure of fan pressure, since the individual pressures measured can be properly weighted, as will be explained later. Determination of power input to the axial-flow mine fan operating in the field is subject to the same inaccuracies as with the centrifugal fan if the axial-flow fan is also belt driven. However, because of the higher rates of rotation usual with axial-flow fans, direct-driven units are more numerous and it is unnecessary to assume a drive efficiency, thus eliminating one possible source of error. It is the purpose of this paper to define and explain the various types of pressure measurements involved in a field test of an axial-flow mine fan, and to further explain the proper use of the Pitot tube when measuring pressures and volumes. DefinitioN of Fan Pressures The two fan pressures most commonly discussed are fan total and fan static pressure, each of which has the same meaning regardless of whether the fan is blowing, exhausting, or blowing and exhausting, as in the case of a fan with ducts connected to both outlet and inlet. Fan total presscre is the amount by which the total pressure of the air delivered by the fan exceeds the total pressure of the air received by the fan. This pressure is a measure of the maximum amount of the work done on the air by the fan that is available for external use.

SEVERAL new procedures for completing oil wells have been developed in recent years. Each method when used where properly applicable promises to be a definite aid to operators in lowering development or operating costs, or in developing the full potentialities of the oil well. Multiple-zone completions are now frequently used, in contrast to the older practice of setting a solid water string over each zone to be produced. Gravel packing in unconsolidated formations often prevents sand troubles formerly experienced where a conventional perforated liner was used. Light-weight bentonitic clay muds and oil-base drilling fluids are definite steps toward eliminating mudding damage, which occurs when heavy rotary mud is used. Since in each case the new procedure developed is an alternate of older conventional methods, a problem of selection is presented. The purpose of this paper is to suggest methods of arriving at these choices and to present practical observations that may be of aid in their application.

The World War I1 spread to Russia on June 22, 1941, when the German Armies began their invasion. The Soviet industries, which were already engaged in a tremendous armament program, further accelerated the flow of munitions, and equipment and supplies for all purposes not directly military were either entirely eliminated or reduced to an absolute minimum. With the occupation by German armies of the Dniepr and Kharkov industrial regions, this trend was necessarily further accentuated. The oil industry of Russia, in consequence, was left to rely more and more upon itself, its own very limited manufacturing facilities, extensive repair shops and probably much used equipment out of order stacked in the warehouses. All evidence available to date points to the fact that the new situation not only did not affect the production either quantitatively or qualitatively, but, on the contrary, caused a larger flow of much needed fuels to the country's war machine, primarily by renaissance of both management and labor. The oil industry of the Soviet Union, left to depend entirely upon itself for equip ment and supplies, and even for new workers and technicians to replace those called into the services, did and is still doing a good and effective job. Since it could not hope for new equipment and parts and could not blame any other industry for the delays in delivery, it dragged out old machines from storage and repaired them in its own machine shops. Often such stored and used equipment was but slightly defective, waiting for some small part from factories in Central Russia, plants that now were either in German hands or entirely converted to the manufacture of munitions. More particularly, instead of the pipe that could not be taken to the Caucasus from Central Russia, casing reclaimed from abandoned or submarginal wells was used, or pipe from the abandoned or but slightly used pipe lines; and this practice is being continued even now on a large scale, to create an ample reserve for the duration of the conflict. Indirectly such a development was even an improvement on pre-war days, when many wells about to be completed had to wait for weeks, even months, for the arrival of new pipe, all blame then being placed outside of the industry on the factories in Central Russia. For the purpose of reclaiming equipment and pipe still usable, special crews were organized. The war also caused much quicker adaptation of certain American practices and introduction of many emergency measures, such as: removal of derricks upon completion of wells and the use of drilling equipment mounted on skids for rapid transfer from location to location—both of these practices, while standard in the U.S.A., being new in Russia; installation of simplified surface pumping units; substitution of wooden bearings in the surface pump equipment; completion of wells in the Ural-Volga district, where formations are hard and tight throughout the sedimentary column, without either casing or

Simple methods can be used for the determination of the residual stresses in thin walled tubing if the stresses consist of high tensile stresses at the one surface and high compressive stresses at the other surface. Such a stress distribution is approximated in sunk tubing and in deep-drawn shells. It is possible to cut sections from such articles in such a manner that a major part of the residual stress is relieved by a bending of the Part that is separated from the adjacent metal. The circumferential stress is evaluated from the change in diameter D, occurring on splitting a length of tubing (Fig. Ib) or from deflection resulting from the cutting out of a circumferential tongue (Fig. Ia) .6 The bending moment M released by such a flexure is. In October 1939, a drilling program was commenced on the Atlantic seaboard of Brazil, with three steam rotary rigs of medium capacity. One of these was assigned to the State of Alagbas and the other two to the State of Bahia. During the remaining few months of 1939 and during the year 1940, some eight wells were drilled, two in Alagbas and six in Bahia. Two small producers were found in the latter state. In early 1941 three medium-weight Diesel rigs were added to the equipment, thus permitting the drilling of some 15 wells during the year 1941. The two small producers found in 1940 in the State of Rahia were near the city of Silo Salvador. In 1941 three additional small wells were brought in, in the same area, and a further producer on an isolated structure some 75 km. to the northwest of this production. No commercial production has been found in the State of Alagbas. Approximately 26 wells have been drilled or are drilling, six of which are producers— five in one area and one in another. The program for 1942 calls for the development of the two areas in which wells have been found and also the drilling of several wildcat structures located either by geophysics or surface geology. All production in the area of the several producing wells is somewhat less than 2000 ft. and in the other area about 3800 ft. The area of the several wells is known as the Lobato field, and is practically within the city limits of Sao Salvador. The area 75 km. northwest of the city will be known as the Candeias field.

FOR four years your Committee has been engaged in the study of problems connected with the educational preparation of professional geophysicists. The present report represents the conclusions drawn from the investigations and deliberations undertaken since it was first organized. These studies have shown that the evolution of geophysics has proceeded along lines that differed from those marking the advance of classical geology. The latter science developed as a descriptive one, dealing with directly observable terrestrial phenomena, and the elementary, rational explanations that could be offered therefor. The fact that these phenomena were also chemical and physical in nature was seldom given more than passing acknowledgment. During the last half century, however, a new approach to problems of terrestrial phenomena has become of greater significance. This new attack has come through the sciences of physics and chemistry, as the people trained therein have investigated the facts of the earth as problems in their respective sciences. This development has been chiefly at the hands of European investigators, and European universities have long recognized it by establishing departments or institutions of geophysics. In the universities of North America, their arbitrary departmentalization into fields of physics, chemistry, astronomy, geology, etc., has prevented the academic recognition of such domains of science as geophysics and geochemistry. In consequence, the development of these subjects in the United States has been largely at the hands of nonacademic institutions, while the universities themselves are evidently in a state of confusion as to how the subject should be handled. In some places an attempt to teach geophysics is made in the physics department, in others in the geology department, in some in the engineering school, and occasionally as a cooperative effort; a Department of Geophysics is seldom found in North America. In some instances, proper academic planning has been precluded by interdepartmental jealousies, or by lack of appreciation of the significance of the subject. For the background upon which these conclusions are based, the reader is referred to reports previously issued or sponsored by your Committee. These reports are available from Institute Headquarters. STRATIGRAPHY structure and closure of the Paloma field are discussed, with some details regarding the present state of development. The Paloma anticline, a large dome modified by faults, is the largest single closed dome in the southern San Joaquin Valley without surface outcrop or topographic expression. It owes its discovery to geophysics. Of nine wells drilled to the Stevens sand, seven are productive. The ultimate productive area may approximate 3000 acres when the limits of the field are determined.

The formation of intermediate phase layers in cementation processes has been subjected to extensive qualitative investigation though to relatively little quantitative study; this work has recently been fully summarized by F. N. Rhines.' It is necessary here only to cnumerate the general conclusions drawn concerning the kinetic laws governing the growth of intermediate layers and to state what is known concerning the structural changes accompanying the generation of phase layers. I. When the intermediate phase is protective in type—i.e., when its density is less than that of the base metal, so that a continuous coating is formed and maintained—the isothermal growth of the phase follows a simple parabolic equation: X2 = kt [i] where X is the thickness of the alloy layer, k thc reaction rate constant, and t the time. The applicability of this equation to diffusion processes is tested by plotting the square of the thickness versus time, or by plotting the thickness versus the square root of time; the resultant achievement of a straight line in such a plot has been considered sufficient proof of the validity of this equation. Exceptions have been found where liquid phases are involved in the reaction, where the diffusion layer is cracked,2 and where thin semimetallic oxide and sulphide coatings are formed on metals.$ In the first two cases the thickness increases linearly with time, and in the latter it is a logarithmic function of time. 2. The rate of thickening varics with temperature according to the Arrhenius equation: k = Ae-Q/RT [2] where k is the parabolic rate constant of Eq. I, or some other rate-descriptive function, A is the action constant, e the base of natural logarithms, Q the heat of activation, R the gas constant, and T absolute temperature. This equation has been found to be generally valid except when transformations occur during reaction in either the base metal or in the reaction layer; in such instances Eq. 2 is still applicable with different values for the constants A and Q above and below the transformation temperature. 3. Ali phases that are stable at the temperature at which diffusion occurs will appear in the interdiffusion of two components. In some cases certain of the phases may be too thin to be observed and identified easily. Nonequilibrium phases have never been noted in thick reaction layers; i.e., layers of a thickness that may be discerned microscopically. The relative thickness of each phase in a diffusion layer is proportional to the concentration gradient and to the rate of diffusion in that phase.4 The reaction layers tend to have a

IT has long been known that the density of a metal usually decreases with cold-work. Thus O'Neilll observed as early as 1861 that cold hammering of commercial hot-rolled copper is accompanied by a decrease of density of 0.2 per cent, and that subsequent annealing restores the original density. The origin of this density change, however, has remained obscure. In particular, experiment has not yet decided whether it is due to the presence of small cavities and an increase in inter-granular surface or to an actual expansion of the lattice itself. This uncertainty in the origin of the change in density is a reflection of our uncertainty as to the changes induced in a metal by cold-working. One school regards cold-working as a breaking up of the original grains into a large number of perfect crystallites somewhat randomly orientated with respect to one another.2 According to this viewpoint, the mere introduction of a large intercrystallite surface induces a net volume expansion. Another school regards cold-working primarily as a distortion of the grains. It is not obvious that this second viewpoint will lead to a net volume expansion. The purpose of the present paper is to show that this is indeed the case, and that this expansion is of the right order of magnitude to explain existing experimental data. The physical basis for the association of an expansion with distortion lies essentially in the variation of the elastic moduli with volume. This variation is considerable. Thus from Table I we see that a I per cent increase in volume for the case of copper will decrease the bulk modulus K by 10 per cent, the shearing modulus µ by 3.8 per cent. If we thus twist a rod through a given angle, we shall do less work upon it if it increases slightly in volume, thereby reducing the torsion modulus that involves as a factor the shearing modulus. A general principle3 in physics states that the rod will so adjust itself as to have a minimum potential energy consistent with the end restraints. It will therefore expand. In order to obtain a quantitative comparison with experiment, we follow Maier4 in comparing the lattice expansion with the latent energy of cold-work. This latent energy has been measured directly by Taylor and Quinney5 on copper rods subjected to torsion, and may amount to as much as 15 per cent of the total work done upon the specimens. The subject of the salt-water corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys is somewhat like that of the pitting of stainless steels, in that it involves a relatively small. percentage of the applications but receives a much greater proportion of the publicity. Actually magnesium alloys are in use in many exterior applications as well as interior, with no trouble from corrosion. Magnesium and its alloys have a striking stability against atmospheric attack, being far superior to iron. Specimens exposed unprotected to atmospheric weathering for Io Years show only a superficial surface-film formation. The basic nature of magnesium and of its important alloys is that they are also resistant to the attack of salt water even in an unprotected state, giving substantially no loss in weight after one year of alternate immersion in 3 per cent NaCl solution (Fig. 1). This basic behavior is often masked because of the extreme sensitivity of these alloys to certain impurities and combinations of impurities. It is known, and the subject of increasing emphasis, that higher purity leads generally to greater stability for many materials, non-metallic as well as metallic. However, a review of the literature on the corrosion factors in magnesium alloys shows that almost all researchers worked with base metal in which metallic impurities varied in uncontrolled amounts. The major factor, that of metallic impurities, Probably greatly overshadowed the effects of minor ones such as flux inclusions, nonmetallic impurities, porosity, metallographic state, which these researchers presumed to study. In the present investigation the first observation of interest is that whereas magnesium of commercial purity (99.9 per cent pure) has a corrosion rate in alternate immersion in 3 per cent NaCl solution at room temperature of anywhere from 5 to Ioo mg. per sq. cm. per day, the corrosion rate of high.purity magnesium is 0.15 ± 0.05 mg, per sq. cm. per day. The principle followed in the experiments was to add to such base magnesium other elements, singly and in inin in controlled and known amounts and to observe the corrosion behavior of the resulting alloy. These experiments show the existence of what may be called tolerance limits" of magnesium and some of its alloys for certain impurities. The extremely small percentages of impurities involved and the sharpness of the corrosion discontinuities appear to be quite unpredictable, In order to carry on this work, it was necessary to develop an analysis technique suitable to the problem. In some cases it was necessary quantitatively to analyze impurities to less than 0,001 per cent. The experimental data to be presented are based on observation of about 5000 alloy specimens and on more than 50,000 quantitative analyses. while the primary purpose of this paper is to present the experimentally obtained data on corrosion rates as a function of composition, and particularly to demon-

HAVING taught you to make aqua fortis and to cleanse and reduce it to perfection, before I teach you the work of parting on a large scale, I wish now to teach you how to make an assay of the amount of gold present in a quantity of silver, so that you may proceed to your work with open eyes in order to become aware of mistakes when you have erred yourself or have been deceived by someone else. Therefore it is necessary to know very exactly, before you take it out, how much gold should be in your cucurbits from the weight of the silver that you put in. Thus you may see the gain or loss, if you had to deliver it to someone else or if you had bought it. If you did not do this you would proceed blindly in your work.

It has been reported recently1 that the hardenability and toughness of forging steels may be improved appreciably by the use of complex deoxidizers containing titanium, aluminum, and vanadium. In the light of these results, an investigation of similar deoxidizers containing various hardening and grain-refining elements was proposed. These deoxidizers included three manganese-silicon-aluminum-titanium al- loys with and without boron and calcium, three titanium-aluminum ferroalloys with vanadium, molybdenum and zirconium, respectively, an aluminum-zirconium ferroalloy, and plain ferroboron. Their approximate compositions are given in Table I, and the results obtained so far in the investigation of their effects on steel are presented in the later parts of this paper. Method of Using Deoxidizers The deoxidizers listed in Table I were used in three series of 0.40 per cent carbon steels, which were melted in a small basic-lined induction furnace and cast in the form of I7-lb. ingots about 2.75 in. square. The basic charge for each heat was 10 lb. Armco iron and 6 lb. of clean low-carbon sheet-steel scrap. When melted, this charge was deoxidized with 15 grams of ferrosilicon, then about 500 grams of pig iron was added to give the desired carbon content. After the pig iron was dissolved, nickel shot and high-carbon ferrochromium were added if required, and additions of 80 per cent high-carbon ferromanganese and 50 per cent ferrosilicon were made to provide the proper amounts of those elements. Aluminum was added to every heat 2 min. after the silicon, for grain-size control and preliminary deoxidation. One minute later the special deoxidizer was added to the clean bare surface of the molten steel, and 2 min. afterward the steel was poured into the ingot mold, using a hot-top and pipe-preventing compound after pouring to decrease the depth of the shrinkage cavity. The special deoxidizers were used mostly in the form of about ½ to¾-in. lumps,

Before hostilities between the colonies and Great Britain began in 1775, most of the coal used in the northern colonies undoubtedly came from England, with some supplies for New England coming from Nova Scotia; in New York and Philadelphia the supply came from England with some from the Virginia mines. Table 4 shows data obtained from the Public Records Office, London, for the years 1768-1772. This table supplements Table 3, which records only a few shipments from Richmond in 1768 and 1769; as there was no coal shown in imports coastwise in 1769 in Table 4, and only two small shipments in 1769 in Table 3, there may have been a cessation of shipments then, for some reason not now known. In Table 5 are incorporated all the data in the first two, with a few earlier years, and an attempt is made to estimate the amount used during the period by allowing for coal exported. With the small total tonnages a carryover from one year to another makes a large difference in the annual figures, but over the period the result may be fairly indicative of the amount of coal used before the Revolution. According to present day ideas the quantity of coal used during that war was very small, but apparently it was badly needed for the manufacture of the small amount of munitions made in those troublous days. As Philadelphia was the leading city along the Atlantic coast, and as the southeastern part of Pennsylvania was the leader in making iron, as well as making rifles, it is natural that the first call for coal came from there. At first, procuring supplies such as coal, powder and sulphur was handled by a Committee of Safety, which later became a Council of Safety and later this committee's functions were turned over to a Board of War, functioning with the military organization of the colony. . The organizations of the several colonies were slightly different, but Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia followed this scheme generally. Later in the war the Congress began to make arms for the troops, and it is difficult now, with the few records available, to tell when the state functions ceased and those of Congress began. THE development of the modern blast furnace began more than one hundred years ago, with the abandonment of the small hillside furnaces. Its development, especially during the past 50 years, has been accomplished through a rapid succession of enlargements and improvements. The remarkable growth in furnace output during this period is a tribute to the engineers and operators who have constantly endeavored to build larger and more efficient blast furnaces. The blast-furnace operators and their mechanical and electrical maintenance staffs have originated most of the furnace improvements as a result of their practical operating experience. FURNACE LINES About 50 years ago furnaces consisted of hearths about 11 ft. in diameter, which merged into rather high flat boshes, with no cylindrical section between the bosh and inwall and no cylindrical section at the stock line. Since then the lines of the furnace invariably have included a cylindrical section above the bosh and a cylindrical section at the stock line. Notable increases have been made in both hearth diameters and furnace heights. During the past 10 years hearth diameters in new and replaced furnace stacks have rather consistently fallen within the range of 25 to 28 ft. while their heights have varied between 100 and 106 ft. The lines of most large furnaces using Mesabi ores have followed a fairly uniform pattern (Fig. I) in which the principal dimensions for 25-ft. hearth furnaces are as follows: [Hearth diameter 25 ft. o in. Height of bosh 10 ft. o in. Bosh angle 8 1 ½° Diameter top of bosh 28 ft. o in. Inwall batter per foot 15/16 Stock-line diameter 19 ft. 6 in. Large-bell diameter 14 ft. 6 in. Height from iron notch to top ring casting 100 ft. o in.] In determining the size of a new furnace for the replacement of an existing stack or for an addition to productive capacity, it is not possible to formulate a procedure that can always be followed. Local conditions, requirements as to capacity, available raw materials and prospects for future expansion dictate the size of such proposed improvements or additions. However, where the immediate requirements indicate a stack or furnace of a certain productive capacity, and the future prospects indicate that more capacity can be utilized, it is well to consider building the furnace for the ultimate capacity rather than to install a smaller hearth with provision for future enlargement. The decision to build the larger hearth and stack for the ultimate capacity probably will require no greater initial investment, since the saving in the cost of brickwork will about offset the greater cost of the hearth jacket, tuyere breast and bosh bands. In the meantime, the furnace of larger hearth dimensions, while operating below its ultimate output, will yield a better coke rate and
