The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) promulgated a rule in 2014 that required numerous changes in compliance dust sampling requirements for coal mine operators. Two key parts of this rule were the lowering of the respirable coal mine dust standard from 2.0 mg/m3 to 1.5 mg/m3 and requiring operators of underground coal mines to use a continuous personal dust monitor (CPDM) for compliance sampling. The CPDM currently approved for compliance sampling is equipped with a display that provides miners with in-shift information on their respirable dust exposure. The goal was to provide an indication of a potential overexposure and empower the miner and mine operator to implement changes in controls and/or operating practices to prevent an overexposure from occurring.

The Subtropolis Mine is a room-and-pillar mine extracting the Vanport Limestone near Petersburg, OH. In February 2018, mine management began implementing a new mine layout to better control the negative effects of excessive levels of horizontal stress. Almost immediately, the conditions in the headings improved. Conversely, and as expected, stress-related damage was concentrated within crosscuts. Over the last 18 months, the mine operator has diligently experimented with different techniques/methods to lessen the impact of the instabilities in the outby crosscuts. The range of controls used by the mine operator include angled crosscuts, crosscut offsets, increased distance between crosscuts, arched crosscuts, cable-bolted crosscuts, altered blasting pattern, and windows. A window is used to resist roof deformation by leaving a strong brow of roof rock within the crosscuts.

Mining activity around the world has increased significantly to meet stepped-up demand for various metals [1]. Apart from the target minerals, mining also generates huge amounts of unwanted minerals that exit the mines as overburden. Due to the active mining activity, high-grade mineral resources are being depleted, leaving inferior-quality ores [2]. The mining of low-grade ores further increases the amount of overburden/waste per ton of metal equivalent of ore mined. Currently, overburden and other mine waste is most commonly used in the construction industry and as feedstock for making cement and concrete, but the overburden can also be used as a source of valuable minerals and metals [3].

In the late1970s, mineral processing plants producing copper sulfide concentrates and oxide leaching feedstocks went online with operating tonnages that exceeded traditional installations. This created a need for larger capacity belt conveyors and apron feeders. Apron feeders are slow moving, heavily loaded conveyors that feed a deep bed of ore from a bulk holding location (a bunker) as a controlled stream, often into a large capacity crusher. Apron feeders use sprockets and caterpillars, while belt feeders use rubber belts with motorized head pulleys to convey the material. The damaging of belts and clogging of transfer points from tramp iron required larger magnetic separators and the removal of tramp metal cannot prevent these serious problems. Corrective action at this location is important for two reasons: Removing tramp iron early in the ore stream protects downstream equipment from potential costly damage. Installing apron feeder magnets before the primary large capacity crusher means that secondary and tertiary crushing steps (made up of multiple parallel units) operate more efficiently, since tramp metal is removed at the onset.

On March 15, 2012, about 24 attendees from several western states attended Roundtable 2012, hosted by Knight Piésold and Co. at the Red Lion Hotel and Casino in Elko, NV. The focus of this year?s discussion was ?Acid Rock Drainage for Engineers and Environmental Scientists.? Other names may have been more suitable for the event, perhaps combining geochemistry, with air and water quality and their long-term effects on soil and rock mechanics. Bryan Ulrich (senior vice president, Knight Piésold?s Nevada operations) and Steve Lange (senior geochemist, Knight Piésold, Denver, CO), helped facilitate the discussion. Attendees included personnel from a dozen mining properties, various corporate offices and academia. There were also attendees from a geochemical testing laboratory to help respond to specific questions pertaining to testing protocol and procedures.

In two case studies we look at strategies of acceptance that the analyst can employ to gain entrance and to see his problem solution out to use. The first example comes from metal mines. The problem area was excessive usage and cost of wear parts in the concentrator and an atmosphere of crisis over frequent and unexpected breakdowns. The second case pertains to coal exploration. Better methods were being sought for representing coal quality in developing reserve tonnages. The first strategy is - Develop a detailed Human Impact Statement. The second strategy is - Write down in plain language with the keeper of the problem what he will consider as success in dealing with his problem.

Knight Piésold?s annual roundtable discussion was held at the Red Lion Hotel and Casino in Elko, NV on March 14. This year the title was, ?Roundtable discussion on material co-disposal/ co-placement in the mining industry.? This topic was chosen because of the benefits that the mining industry could realize through the advancement of improved methods of storing tailings and mine waste and from reducing short-and long-term environmental hazards while reducing the footprint of these facilities and making strides toward attaining a walk-away solution. Knight Piésold had a local representative, Bryan Ulrich, as well as representatives from its Denver, CO office, including Tom Kerr, president of Knight Piésold?s U.S. practice, and Jeff Coffin, Ph.D., geotechnical engineer, to help facilitate the discussion. The event played host to about two dozen attendees from several western states. Attendees included personnel from more than 10 mining properties, various corporate offices and academia. The purpose of the roundtable was to exchange ideas and information pertaining to broad topics revolving around the subject of co-disposal/co-placement in the mining industry. Compared with traditional conferences and symposia, the roundtable forum tends to provide a less inhibited format for discussion. In the roundtable format, lively discussions and applicable tangential departures are encouraged. This was the seventh in the series of the Elko Roundtable events. Previous roundtables pertained to: ? Heap leach pad design, construction and operation. ? Design, construction and operation of tailings storage facilities. ? Site-wide water considerations. ? Mine closure and cover design. ? Strides toward sustainability in mining. ? High-density tailings, paste and filtered tailings. Acid rock drainage for engineers and environmental scientists.

Not only does mining call for processes that are complicated and energy intensive, but complex material movements and an intricate logistical chain add to the industry?s obstacles in achieving sustainability and performance. This article explores three major challenges and the resulting issues currently being faced in the industry, as well as potential solutions to these impediments by use of energy management, automation and control strategies.

The mining industry appears to be slowly rebounding. But many individuals and company officials are still smarting from the beating they received during the recent recession. As a result, companies have taken the "lean and mean" approach. As pointed out at the Oct. 24-26, 1984 SME-AIME Fall Meeting in Denver, CO, companies are placing more emphasis on optimizing their operations through more efficient mining and processing technologies and equipment. Empathizing with the mining industry's woes was the meeting's welcoming luncheon speaker, John D. Withrow, Jr., executive vice president product development for Chrysler Corp. Withrow paralleled Chrysler's problems of a few years ago with the current problems facing the US mining industry. He said Chrysler's come-back centered around its engineering and technical personnel, who regained "their seat at the head table." "In short," Withrow said, "we had lost the competitive edge. By cutting costs and people and improving our products we got everybody to believe we could." The 2700 participants at the Fall Meeting attended technical sessions geared toward turning mining back into a productive and profitable industry. Sessions and symposia included papers on precious metals extraction, crushing and grinding innovations, geomechanics, environmental control, health and safety, and various commodities. This article briefly highlights some of the papers presented. To order preprints of these technical papers, see ME, December 1984, pages 1620 and 1621. Computers Gain Mining Acceptance High tech has reached mining. As evidenced by many papers, computers have become valuable tools in many applications. These include tailings ponds operation and waste management; truck dispatching; mine design, simulation, and scheduling; monitoring; and reclamation. Mine planning is generally labor intensive and requires a considerable amount of the planner's time. P. K. Chatterjee, X. Chung, and Y. Jianjy described a computer-generated interactive graphics approach to under-ground coal mine planning that lessens the manhours involved in producing plans. The computer program examined exploratory borehole information. This included coal seam thickness, tonnage, quality constraints, and the nature of their distribution. Layout designs were then initiated and a probabilistic simulation performed to determine production levels of different extraction strategies. The interactive graphics approach gives planners the ability to quickly evaluate several layout alternatives and select the best one. For surface coal mines, M. A. White, of Arch Minerals Corp., explained several computer programs that aided in his company's surface mine plans. Several drill hole database and modeling pack¬ages are available. But Arch tech¬nicians developed specific pro¬grams for model strip areas. They were used to form long-term pro¬jections for various area and semi¬area stripping operations. They also generated reports on yard¬age, tonnage, quality, and ratio in¬formation. The information is used in budgeting, to compare mine plans, and to analyze acqui¬sition candidates. While computer-based truck dispatching systems have been used in mining for some time, earlier systems were run on ex¬pensive mainframe or high per¬formance minicomputers. As such, computer-based truck dis¬patching systems have been too expensive for all but the largest mines. Recently, however, a microcomputer-based system, af¬fordable to smaller mine opera¬tors, has become technologically feasible. Y. C. Kim and W. E. Kolb re¬ported on a simulated microcom¬puter system that uses strategi¬cally placed signposts in the pit area to automatically detect truck movements. A microprocessor in the signpost sends information to the microcomputer. The computer determines the truck's assign¬ment and alerts the dispatcher. He radios the driver his assign¬ment. Editor&apos;s note: Minerals concentration is a disparate area, one involving many disciplines. Flotation, flocculation, reagents, microbial processes, gravity and magnetic separation, and the areas of coal and oil shale - concentration is relevant to all of these. In his article, Nagaraj reviews the latest developments and findings in concentration that have ocurred during the past year. Flotation The Monograph Series "Development in Mineral Processing," (Elsevier, 1985) was devoted to "Flotation of Sulfide Minerals." This volume has 26 articles covering the aspects of flotation chemistry, process development, plant design and equipment, and modeling and process control. The numerous articles on sulfide flotation had one recurring theme - the role of electrochemical processes and redox potentials in flotation and depression. Significant advances have been made in this area. A differential desorption-reflotation process was developed for the beneficiation of calcitic phosphate pebble (Hsieh and Lehr, Industrial Engineering and Chemistry, 1985). The carbonate and phosphate minerals were first separated from silica using fatty acid and the modifiers diphosphonic acid and HF. The collector on phosphate was then desorbed using sulfuric acid, and calcite was selectively floated without additional collector. A two-stage conditioning - initially at pH 10, followed by that at pH < 4.5 - with sodium oleate was developed to improve the separation between apatite and dolomite (Moudgil and Chanchani, Minerals and Metallurgical Processing, MMP, 1985). Separation of Mussorie rock phosphate in India from gangue calcite, dolomite, silicates, pyrite, and carbonaceous impurities was achieved with a three-stage flotation only on -75 µm (-200 mesh) fraction (Vaman Rao et al., International Journal of Mineral Processing, IJMP, 1985). The separation of fine SiC whiskers from other products of coked rice hulls by immiscible liquid and froth flotation was achieved using M1BC, pine oil, and mineral spirits (Parekh and Goldberger, MMP, 1985). Flotation was more economical. The carrier flotation separation of hematite fines from quartz fines was effected using coarse hematite as a carrier and oleic acid and ferric chloride (Cristoveanu and Meech, CIM Bulletin, 1985). Potash recovery from brines by laboratory-pan solar evaporation and amine flotation was discussed by Foot and Juiatt (Salts and Brines &apos;85, Proceedings, 1985). Flotation in a 45-kg/h (99-lb per hour) unit recovered more than 95% of the potash in schoenite and sylvite concentrates containing 28% and 62% K2O, respectively. The effects of fresh concrete into cement and aggregate by a single-step flotation process in aqueous suspension was described (Naegle, Chemical Engineering Science, 1985). The physico-chemical principles for the selective separation of proteins from mixtures using flotation were discussed by Ostermaier and Dobias (Colloids & Surfactants, 1985). Selective flocculation of hematite from silica was studied by Bagster and Mcllvenny (IJMP, 1985). Selective flocculation was more favorable with more highly charged anionic polyacrylamides and with high molecular weight. The cationic and non-ionic polymers flocculated both minerals. In minerals mixtures, there appeared to be very little selectivity unless a combination of dispersant and electrolyte was used. The effect of dissolved minerals species, such as Cu, Fe, and Ni on flocculation of chalcopyrite, pentlandite, millerite, pyrrhotite, and covellite was studied by Acar and Somasundaran (SME-AIME, 1985). Reagents There were some major advances made in reagent development for the minerals processing industry. Cyanamid introduced several classes of collectors, one of which - the diaryl monothiophosphates as acid circuit col¬lectors of sulfides and oxidesulfide ores - was commercialized in 1985. The monothiophosphates are more stable and powerful collectors than the xanthates and dithiophosphates. Hydrolyzed dithiophosphate containing 80% monothio and 20% dithiophosphate was found to give optimum recovery of copper from crude cementation precipitate and separation of Cu and Ni sulfides from matte (Akimova et al., Obogashch, Tonkov, Rud, OTR, 1985). INTRODUCTION An innovative Ø.1-MGD (378.5-m3/day) biological and phyicochemical wastewater treatment system at Hancock, Massachusetts, USA, has been treating the domestic sewage generated from the four-season Jiminy Peak timeshare resort since 1985. The influent raw sewage is collected and equalized in an equalization tank, then biologically treated by two rotating biological contactors (RBC). A portion of the RBC effluent is discharged to a secondary sedimentation tank to simulate conventional waste treatment by a conventional RBC system. For parallel treatment the remaining portion of the RBC effluent is discharged to an innovative Sandfloat (SASF-8) clarifier to simulate a two-stage biological and physicochemical treatment by RBC-Sandfloat. Both secondary sedimentation effluent and Saandfloat effluent are later combined together and discharged to a tertiary sand filter and two UV disinfection&apos;units for final polishing. The operation and performance data of Jiminy Peak plant in the period of May 1985 to March 1988 was fully documented in the Lenox Institute technical report No. LIR/Ø3-88/292 (391 pages, March 1988). This report presents only background information and complete plant data in the period of April 1988 to January 1989. Dr. Lawrence K. Wang and Mr. James P. Van Dyke have been the Consulting Engineer and Director of Special Projects, respectively, for the Jiminy Peak Project since 1985. BACKGROUND INFORMATION Jimmy Peak, Inc., Hancock, Massachusetts, has designed and constructed a secondary wastewater treatment system consisting of preliminary/primary treatment facilities, two rotating biological contactors, a dissolved air flotation clarifier, a secondary sedimentation clarifier, a sand filter and two ultraviolet (UV) disinfection units. Total average wastewater flow is approximately Ø.1 ) (378.5 cubic meters per day). In accordance with the Consulting Engineer&apos;s preliminary design, the total wastewater stream is initially collected and equalized by an equalization tank, and then biologically treated by rotating biological contactors (RBC). Part of the RBC effluent is diverted to a Krofta Sandfloat (SASF-8) for physicochemical clarification in order to simulate an innovative RBC-Sandfloat two-stage waste treatment system. The remaining part of the RBC effluent is diverted to a sedimentation tank for secondary clarification in order to siumulate a conventional secondary RBC-sedimentation waste treatment system for the purpose of parallel comparison. Both Sandfloat effluent and sedimentation effluent are later combined together and discharged to the subsequent sand filter and UV disinfection unit for final polishing. Figure 1 shows the flow diagram of Jiminy Peak Plant. The Massachusetts Clean Waters Act (M.G.L.c.2l,s.26-53) was amended by Chapter 246 of the Acts of 1973 to authorize the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Quality Engineering (DEQE), Division of water Pollution Control, Boston, Massachusetts, to regulate discharges into all waters of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including groundwaters. The DEQE regulates discharges through the issuance of discharge permits which impose limitations on the amount of pollutants which may be discharged in the effluent, together with monitoring and reporting requirements and other conditions to insure adequate treatment of all liquid wastes prior to discharge. The DEQE reviewed the application submitted on behalf of Jiminy Peak, Inc. for a permit to discharge sanitary wastes from the Jiminy Peak secondary wastewater treatment system located off Brodie Mountain Road, Hancock, Massachusetts, and subsequently developed the conditions contained in the Groundwater Discharge Permit No. Ø-188. More specifically, Jiminy Peak, Inc. (i.e. the permittee) has been authorized to discharge into the ground from the Jimmy Peak secondary wastewater treatment facilities for which the Permit No. Ø-188 was issued, a treated effluent

Other projects are assigned to consultants with backgrounds in system design and mining. Both types of development have led to programs that can be acquired for the cost of a tape or disk. "Iron ore is the source of primary iron for the world’s iron and steel industries. Its production can be reported as crude ore, usable ore or iron content of ore. Historically, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) used reported crude ore production from China in tabulations of world iron ore production while other countries have typically reported their production in terms of usable iron ore. When China’s crude ore production was tabulated with usable ore production from other countries, world iron ore production totals have been overestimated by 10 percent to a high of content and may include products such as concentrates, direct-shipping ore, pellets, and sinter.• Iron content, also referred to as metal content or grade, denotes the amount of elemental iron in the crude or usable ore.BackgroundIron ores consumed in the steel industry typically require an iron content greater than 58 percent before being considered commercially usable. Iron ores that are not commercially usable must undergo beneficiation to raise the iron content. Approximately 98 percent of the world’s usable iron ore production is consumed in blast furnaces to make pig iron, which is further processed to make steel.High-grade iron ore mines can supply usable iron ore, known as direct-shipping ore, to blast furnaces, with minimal physical processing and no beneficiation. With direct-shipping ore, the reported production for crude ore and usable ore are the same. Ore from low-grade deposits must undergo beneficiation to increase the iron content before it can be used by the steel industry. In this instance, the mined material is called crude ore and post-beneficiation concentrates are called usable ore; the amount produced will be less than the crude ore amount. With the notable exceptions of countries such as Australia and Brazil, most of the world’s iron ore deposits are low-grade and require beneficiation."

Almost all of the world?s zirconium is mined in the form of zircon (ZrSiO4), the majority as a coproduct of titanium mining from heavy mineral sands deposits. These are placer type deposits, in which the dominant mineral is silica but which also contain a suite of ?valuable minerals,? often consisting of a mixture of titanium minerals, various alumino-silicates and zircon plus a range of other mineral species. The composition of the valuable minerals in such deposits is known as the mineral assemblage. There is no reasonable consistent geological relationship between zircon and titanium minerals. They can derive from separate igneous rock deposits that rarely occur together. The connection emanates once these separate rocks have been eroded by weather and water, often across a very long geological period. As the mining industry faces increased challenges with declining ore grades and harder to access deposits, operating mine sites in an environmentally responsible and economically viable manner will require innovations that improve efficiency in energy logistics, and automation. Technological advancements in mining have been successful primarily because of the willingness and capability of these solutions to share information with one another, for example OEM payload systems sending information to Fleet Management Systems, and in turn Fleet Management Systems interfacing to ERP systems. To promote and facilitate the sharing of data, there has been a push towards open standards with initiatives led by organizations like ISO, ISA, EMESRT, and GMG. These efforts are aimed at creating a more collaborative and interoperable environment within the sector. However, when it comes to implementing autonomous solutions, a different trend dominates— closed-stack solutions. These closed stack solutions not only prohibit a mine site from selecting best-of-breed solutions, by blocking the competition from entering the market, they also risk slowing innovation that could help overcome the challenges the mining industry faces. Open Autonomy, an internationally published standard that allows any FMS to work with any Autonomous solution, breaks this closed-stack approach and invites competition from other industries. This competition comprises of autonomous suppliers from other industries and manufacturers of smaller, civil-sized haul trucks. The availability and capabilities of these smaller-sized autonomous haul trucks will help tackle the challenges of responsibly and economically mining lower quality ore grades and mining harder to access deposits.

"In 1995 and 2003, the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) conducted surveys to determine the number of atmospheric monitoring systems (AMS) that were being used in underground coal mines in the United States. The survey reports gave data for the different AMS manufacturers, the different types of equipment monitored, and the different types of gas sensors and their locations. Since the last survey in 2003, MSHA has changed the regulation requirements for early fire detection along belt haulage entries. As of Dec. 31, 2009, point-type heat sensors are prohibited for use for an early fire detection system. Instead, carbon monoxide (CO) sensors are now required. This report presents results from a new survey and examines how the regulation changes have had an impact on the use of CO sensors in underground coal mines in the United States. The locations and parameters monitored by AMS and CO systems are also discussed.IntroductionThe last survey conducted by the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) on atmospheric monitoring systems used in underground coal mines in the United States was in 2003 (Francart, 2005). A total of 146 active mines were surveyed. The survey report states that since 1995 there had been a steady increase in the use of atmospheric monitoring systems in underground coal mines as the technology of carbon monoxide (CO) sensors was improved by manufacturers. Atmospheric monitoring systems had become more reliable, and some CO sensors could be purchased with the capability to discriminate between the CO produced by a fire versus CO produced by diesel equipment. This increase in reliability had reduced the number of false alarms and the response time. The faster response time to a developing fire allowed miners to take the necessary action to put out the fire or exit the mine.At the time of the last MSHA survey, some mines still used point-type heat sensors to detect the presence of a fire on conveyor belts. This detection method works by measuring the temperature of the air around the sensor. As a fire starts to develop, smoke and hot gases are produced from the combustion process, and the air is heated up. Once the air and gases reach a designated temperature detected by the point-type heat sensor, a fire alarm signal is generated. Studies have shown that the response times for detecting the presence of a fire using CO sensors are much shorter than when using point-type heat sensors (Conti and Litton, 1995)."

Many mining engineering graduates enter the mining industry lacking training in mine emergency management. As a result, mining universities in the United Sates and other countries are beginning to form volunteer student mine rescue teams to train mining engineering students in handling mine emergency situations and give them hands-on experience managing potential emergency scenarios underground. In the early 1980s, the Missouri University of Science and Technology developed the first collegiate mine rescue team in the United States. For approximately 30 years, it was the only successful collegiate team until the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) started its program in 2009. Currently, there are at least five collegiate teams in the United States and one in Canada. At the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology in Germany, the goal is to adapt the Colorado School of Mines Mine Rescue Program to develop a collegiate team of its own. Currently, mining engineering students cover the theoretical basics of mine rescue in an occupational health and safety lecture and take a basic, one-day mine rescue training course at the Central Mine Rescue Station in Leipzig. The course covers the basic mine rescue topics and gives students the opportunity to experience working in elevated heat and smoke conditions while wearing breathing apparatus. This training gives students a small insight into the importance of mine rescue and mine emergency management. Collegiate mine rescue teaches students the importance of mine rescue and mine safety by giving them hands-on learning experiences before entering the mining industry.

The paper also examines the need for emergency stations, maintenance access, and comprehensive safety and rescue concepts to address train incidents. Drawing from international high-speed rail projects, it shares valuable experiences and lessons learned to promote efficient and secure tunnel designs for high-speed train operations.

"Face ignitions in underground coal mines are a major risk for underground mining operations, as they can lead to methane or coal dust explosions. The 2010 disaster at the Upper Big Branch Mine resulted in 29 fatalities due to a methane and coal dust explosion initiated from a face ignition. Much research has been conducted to mitigate face ignition hazards, from water sprays to installing passive and active explosion barriers. Despite the increased use of water sprays in U.S. coal mines, there have been more than 50 documented face ignitions in the U.S. underground coal mines since 2010, indicating that this hazard still prevails. This paper will examine the statistics of face ignitions and gas explosion in U.S. coal mines based on MSHA data. It will study factors contributing to these face ignitions and outline best practices for their prevention based on experience and practices worldwide. INTRODUCTION Methane and coal dust explosions are one of the major causes of coal mine disasters in the U.S. and around the world. Such disasters have resulted in the large number of fatalities and loss of mine infrastructure. The recent explosion at the Soma coal mine in Turkey has caused the death of 301 miners (Mining Turkey, 2014). As documented by U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA, 2015a), the U.S. coal mining industry has also experienced several catastrophic mine explosions with accidents at Upper Big Branch mine, Darby mine, Sago mine and Jim Walter Resources No. 5 mine in the last decade, causing the deaths of almost 60 miners. Every explosion requires a source of ignition, the right amount of fuel and oxygen. In underground coal mines, methane acts as a fuel while ventilation air acts as a source of oxygen. The source of ignition may vary from spontaneous combustion, electrical equipment and switchgear, mechanical heat sources, face ignitions due to friction rock-on-rock or from cutter bits and lightning strikes. Under the right conditions, energy of less than 0.3 mJ is sufficient to ignite methane-air mixtures (James, 2007) that can result in a catastrophic explosion. Much research has been done to mitigate the methane explosion hazard by proper dilution, continuous monitoring of methane and elimination of ignition sources. Historical studies indicate that face ignitions are the major cause of explosion in underground coal mining operations worldwide (Belle, Carey, and Robertson, 2012). Statistics shows that most mine disasters were started from a small face ignition, which turned into a major explosion fueled by additional methane and coal dust (Belle et al., 2012). To investigate face ignition hazards, researchers must study potential ignition sources as well as potential explosive atmospheres near mechanical coal cutting operations. Statistical analysis of U.S. coal mine face ignitions reported by the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA, 2015b) shows that several factors are responsible for face ignitions."
