"It is crucial to understand the mechanism of the collector interacting with the mineral surface in the presence of water molecules, which could influence the relaxation and electronic properties of sulphide mineral surface due to the proximity effect for narrow band gap of semiconductors. The adsorptions of three typical collector molecules (xanthate, dithiocarbamate and dithiophosphate) on the sulphide mineral surfaces in the absence and presence of water molecule have been simulated by density-functional theory (DFT). The calculated results show that the adsorptions of collectors on clean mineral surface in vacuum are not in agreement with the observed flotation behaviours. The presence of water molecules has a great influence on the adsorption of collectors. The analysis of density of states of the mineral surface atom suggests that the adsorption of water molecules could influence the electronic properties of mineral surface and consequently influence the adsorption between the surface and the collector molecule.INTRODUCTIONIn the separation of multi-metal sulphide ores, the selectivity of a collector is a key factor for the efficient recovery of the aimed mineral. Xanthate, dithiocarbamate (DTC) and dithiophosphate (DTP) are the most common collectors used in the flotation of sulfide minerals. Generally, xanthate exhibits powerful collecting property but lack of selectivity. While dithiophosphate and dithiocarbamate show the good selectivity in the lead and copper sulphide mineral flotation. The mechanisms of these collectors interacting with the sulphide mineral had been attracted many attentions and several mechanism based on experimental results had been reported (Chander & Fuerstenau, 1974; Fuerstenau, 1990; Raju & Forsling, 1991; Crozier, 1991; Bradshaw, Cruywagen & O’Connor, 1995; Guler, Hicyilmaz, Gokagac & Emekci, 2006). However, the micro-mechanisms of the selectivity of these three thiol collectors on different sulphide mineral surfaces are not fully understood."

THE Dolly Varden Mine is situated in the Kitsault River valley, eighteen miles from the head of Alice arm, in the Nass River mining division of British Columbia. During the years 1919-21 it was operated by the Taylor Engineering Company, Limited, and produced 1,300,000 oz. silver from about 36,000 tons of ore. The ore was transported by narrow-gauge railway to Alice arm, and shipped to the smelter at Anyox for treatment. During recent years, a small quantity of high-grade ore has been extracted by leasers and shipped to the smelter at Tacoma, Wash. Unfortunately, the bonanza ores which occurred near the surface did nor persist to depth, and two hundred feet below the exposures only rare and unimportant patches of ridi ore have been found. Two opinions exist as to the origin of this rich silver ore. One, advanced by V. Delmage (1, 2), is that the ores are hypogene, and the other, by G. Hanson(3, 4, S), is that the ores are the result of supergene enrichment. It is true that Dolmage first advanced his view that the ores are primary because they appeared to be analagous to Premier ore, which he had studied in detail and which he considered to be primary. The present authors have had access to excellent suites of material from both mines and consider the comparison well taken, the only essential mineralogical difference being the presence at the Premier mine, in addition to the silver minerals, of gold and electrum. Although the arguments put forward by Delmage have, in the opinion of the authors, never been refuted, nevertheless R. P. D. Graham(6), in a reference to the mine published in 1924, describes the ore as of supergene origin, and since then nobody appears to have challenged this statement. Indeed, in 1935, Hanson re-affirmed his earlier conclusion(5).

The extraction of nickel from Serbian and Western Australian lateritic ore by sulphuric pressure acid leaching (PAL) has been studied. The following parameters were tested: stirring rate, acid to ore ratio, reaction time, pressure and temperature. These studies were performed with ore samples from the Rudjinci, Serbia and Silcrete, Australia, both belonging to the laterite-silicate group of deposits. An increase of the reaction temperature and the stirring speed at a fixed acid/ore ratio showed a positive influence on nickel extraction. The decrease of the oxidation potential with time correlated with the increase in Fe(II) in solution and nickel extraction as the reaction went to completion for both ores. The target values of 95 % Ni extraction and 60 % Co extraction were attained in 5 min at 250°C for the Serbian silicate ore, at an agitation rate of 1500 rpm, 10 % solids, and acid/ore ratio of 0.40. Under similar conditions only 60 % Ni, but 69 % Co could be extracted from the Australian Silcrcte ore due to different mineralogy. The nickel extraction was shown follow a diffusion-controlled reaction model.

This paper focusses on technological developments which occurred in the village of Deloro, Ontario between 1868 and 1919. These developments illustrate the manner in which improved metallurgical processes linked Ontario mineral resources to industrial expansion. Overview of Deloro The village of Deloro is in Hastings county, about 5 miles from the village of Marmora, the site of the old Marmora iron works and the more recent Marmoraton iron mine. In this area, the Canadian Shield meets the Great Lakes lowlands. The first settlement in the vicinity occurred in the 1820s and was associated with the Marmora iron works. Settlement grew around agriculture. Gold was discovered in Hastings county in 1868. Deloro - the name derives from gold - developed as a concentrated settlement in proximity to several gold mines and the related processing activities. By 1901, substantial smelting works were successfully producing gold and arsenic from local ores. The village was developing as a company town within the framework of benevolent paternalism. For reasons associated with markets and with local ore supplies, the Deloro mills were idle for a period beginning in 1902. Developments in later periods connected Deloro to world events. In 1903, silver was discovered at Cobalt, Ontario. By 1907, M.J. O'Brien, who owned mines at Cobalt, had purchased the Deloro works and was using them to process Cobalt-area ores*.

"The comminution process is estimated to be only 1% efficient, resulting in waste energy dissipated as heat, noise, and vibration. Energy recovery from grinding circuits has not been implemented mainly because recovering heat from the surface of the grinding mill or from mill slurry can impede operation, increase maintenance requirements, and prolong plant shutdown time (and production). However, currently very little information is available in the public domain regarding the amount of waste energy and that potentially recoverable in the grinding circuit of a mineral processing plant. Availability of such information could drive innovation and improve decision-making regarding opportunities for waste energy recovery. The Canadian Mining Innovation Council (CMIC) has initiated a study with CanmetMINING and mining industry partners to develop a model to map the energy flows in grinding circuits and to quantify the potential for energy recovery. The paper outlines the underlying fundamentals and data requirements for use in the model and then focuses on quantifying the energy recovery potential of the semi-autogenous grinding and ball mill circuits at the Agnico Eagle Goldex Division. Results show that most of the electrical energy (over 75%) is used to heat the slurry, leaving only a relatively small amount of it to achieve mechanical work (~9%). INTRODUCTIONCanmetMINING commissioned a study in 2013 to better understand the barriers for adoption of new technologies in the mining industry (MNP, 2013). The conclusions highlighted the importance of enhancing industry/regulator engagement and communication to raise awareness and improve the industry’s comfort level with new technologies.In November 2014, the Green Mining Innovation Advisory Committee (GMIAC) held a workshop to explore the possibility of accelerating the uptake of green mining technologies by bringing together key stakeholders among the mining value chain to address industry priorities. Participants included representatives from mining companies and associations, academia, provincial governments and federal departments and organizations. Two key priority areas emerged at the workshop: i) energy saving, and ii) water management."

In copper ore mines located in the Pre-Sudeten Monocline the deposit mining using room and pillar systems has been carried out for more than forty years. When implementing mining systems in deep copper ore mines it appeared to be necessary to adapt them to variable geological conditions and natural hazards. In the initial period of exploitation there were mainly caving and rockburst hazards. The adaptation of room and pillar system was connected with a state of knowledge in the scope of identifying, forecasting and controlling rock mass hazards. The new solutions allowed the safe and efficient exploitation of a blanket deposit of variable thickness from about 2 to 15m, seated on progressively increasing depth. They included exploitation in constrained conditions, such as in protective pillars. In the exploitation period, technical and organisational activities aimed at rockburst hazard control were introduced including active methods for controlling rockburst hazard and procedures for conducting mining works in the rockburst hazard conditions. When mining at a depth exceeding 1,200 m, the exploitation method and technique are additionally affected by thermal hazard and by gas and rock breakout hazard. New solutions of the room and pillar system and a longwall system with mechanical mining have been developed for exploitation in the associated hazard conditions. The require application of many innovative solutions in the scope of mining process and ore haulage mechanisation, excavation support and forecasting and control of existing hazards. The main purpose of these solutions is to conduct the safe and economically effective exploitation of the deposit.

"Exposure to airborne respirable silica in surface and underground mine operations is known to be the cause of industrial lung diseases. For this reason, silica is a regulated substance and worker exposure must be monitored regularly. Diesel exhaust also contains substances which are potential caricinogens. In an underground setting, diesel particulate may be the main component of what is referred to as respirable combustible dust (ReD). Although diesel particulate or soot is not at present a rigorously regulated substance, new epidemiological data is prompting North American institutes and agencies to regulate diesel soot or RCD exposure. This paper describes a method where by silicaand RCD exposure may be determined using a single personal sample. In this method, an airborne respirable dust sample is obtained and analyzed nondestructively for silica components using an on-filter X-ray diffraction method. Filters are then ashed at 500°C in a muffle furnace over a four-hour period to determine mass loss due to RCD burning. "The Golden Manitou mine is in the northeast quarter of Bourlamaque township, Abitibi county, Quebec. During the summer of 1937 a body of gold-silver-zinc ore was outlined in a series of diamond drill holes located to the west of an old copper-zinc showing in the property of Quebec Manitou Mines, Limited. In 1938, a shaft was sunk and the orebody further explored from levels at depths of 210 and 360 feet.In 1941 the western half of the Quebec Manitou property was acquired by a new company, Golden Manitou Mines, Limited, and the installation of a mining and milling plant was at once undertaken. Milling started in August 1942. The following is a summary of production to December 31, 1946:The orebodies are sulphide replacements in a sericite schist shear zone. They vary in width from 8 feet to 65 feet and range in length up to 850 feet . Much of the ore is of the 'massive sulphides' type . The sulphide minerals in the ore are pyrite and sphalerite with minor quantities of .galena, tennantite, chalcopyrite, and arsenopyrite. Native silver (as wire and leaf silver) has been found in vugs and as coatings along fractures. In one section of the mine a few specks of gold were observed. Spectrographic analysis of ore samples has indicated the presence of zinc silicate."

Many of us are familiar with the history of oil in the Province of Ontario, but for the benefit of those who have never heard the story I will repeat it. In 185 7 J. H. Williams, of Hamilton, an old-country Scotchman, who had the advantage of experience gained from the primitive methods used for refining the oil collected at seepages in Roumania, heard of the "gum beds" along Black creek in Enniskillen township, Lambton county. He erected a small plant in the bush and refined illuminating oil, where the village of Old Springs now stands. The labor of collecting this thick ?gummy substance from the sluggish water of the creek, prompted him to dig a well, the next year ( 1858), in the hope of obtaining a greater quantity. When his excavation reached a gravel bed on top of the rock, oil, resembling "lubricating oil of commerce", rose several feet. Several of these wells were dug and his refining business flourished. The following year the Drake well, in Pennsylvania, was drilled into rock, resulting in an oil find which encouraged one James Shaw to make a similar attempt on Black creek. With a spring-pole drill he completed his well in the spring of 1861 to a depth of 160 feet, and at that depth struck a gusher that flowed uncontrolled for several days. Great excitement followed and the village of Oil Springs had a mushroom growth. The Petrolia field was discovered in 1865. Lick followed up the Thames with a spring-pole rig testing the formations along that river and discovered the original Bothwell field in 1865. During the sixties wells were drilled in many counties in southwestern Ontario.

There are a number of hydrogen storage systems proposed for automotive applications. However, all of the current suggestions fall short of the DOE targets for storage density and volumetric density. The DOE has suggested that only through radically new ideas will a practical solution to hydrogen storage for automotive applications be realized. This paper provides some background in chemical hydrogen storage and discusses roadblocks to the implementation of some proposed technologies.

Extending the campaign life of the Mitsubishi furnaces at Xstrata Copper's Kidd Metallurgical Division Copper Smelter has been a major focus of attention for many years. One aspect of this effort is real time monitoring to detect abnormal conditions and safely shut the furnaces down before significant damage occurs. Traditional real time methods of monitoring the integrity of refractory furnaces containing molten metal include alarms on individual temperatures of the refractory or cooling water. The need to set alarm limits which are not exceeded across the range of normal operating conditions leads to a system that only provides a limited warning, if any, before a failure occurs. Integrity monitoring systems that look at many different signals and alarm only changes in the relationships between the signals have been implemented on the smelting and converting furnaces. The systems are based on principle components analysis (PCA) models and implemented with the monitorMV software package. These provide much more sensitive and selective alarms so that changes in integrity are alarmed well in advance of any event. At a critical alarm level, the converting furnace is set to automatically shut down so that operating and technical personnel can review the situation. The configuration of the systems and operating experience with them will be discussed.

Introduction I am indebted for most of the information in this paper to Mr. P. S. Lea, Deputy Chief Inspector of Mines of Great Britain, and Mr. A. E. Crook, Engineering Inspector of Mines, Ministry of Fuel and Power. Other coal-mining men in Canada may be as surprised as I was to learn that there are twenty-five Diesel locomotives in service underground in British gassy coal mines. Many more are in use underground in non-gassy coal mines and in metal mines. Approval has been granted for an additional fifty flame-proof locomotives to be used in gassy mines, and these should be in operation by the end of 1946, or as soon as manufacturing facilities permit.

"As part of the preparations for the design of an underground repository for radioactive waste at Posiva’s Olkiluoto site on the west coast of Finland, there has been considerable site investigation work. Except the extensive surface based investigations, Posiva started in 2004 the construction of an underground characterisation facility termed the ‘ONKALO’. The ONKALO has now been completely excavated to the anticipated repository depth i.e. -430–450 m. The research conducted in the ONKALO gives further information on the bedrock and groundwater conditions of the final disposal site, as well as on the impact of the construction. The ONKALO provides an excellent opportunity to investigate the rock at tunnel scale, to conduct in-situ testing in rock, to develop excavation and final disposal techniques in realistic conditions. The ONKALO has aided in collecting the data needed, supported by a Preliminary Safety Assessment, for the application of the construction license that was submitted in the end of 2012. The target is to begin disposal operations in 2022. According to current plans, the final disposal would end in 2112 and the repository would be sealed up by 2120. The testing in the ONKALO still continues several years. This paper presents the current characterisation and research activities in the ONKALO. INTRODUCTIONAfter the Finnish Government's favourable policy decision in 2001, Posiva Oy, which is an expert organisation responsible for the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel of the owners in Finland, has focused further investigations at the Olkiluoto site, western Finland (Figure 1) and has started in 2004 the construction of an underground facility termed the ‘ONKALO’. The ONKALO is not a nuclear waste repository, but more than just an underground research laboratory URL – it is an underground rock characterisation facility. The ONKALO has now been completely excavated to the anticipated repository depth i.e. -430–450 m. In addition to facilitating bedrock research, the ONKALO also provides an opportunity to develop excavation techniques and final disposal techniques in realistic conditions. Later, the ONKALO facilities can be put into use when building and using the repository. The construction methods and materials have been selected in order not to jeopardise the long-term safety of the repository site. The findings of the ONKALO and other investigations will provide the knowledge needed for an application, supported by a Preliminary Safety Assessment, to construct a final repository for spent nuclear fuel at the site. Posiva has submitted an application for the construction licence for a disposal facility in the end of 2012. The target is to begin disposal operations in 2022 and the repository would be sealed up by 2120."

"Fine coal beneficiation in a dry way is considerably imperative for the efficient utilization and conservation of coal resource in drought regions, especially for China. In this study, a continuous vibrated gas-fluidized bed separator was established and developed based on the results of laboratory batch separation results. The fluidization behavior and the effects of several main parameters including superficial air velocity, vibrational parameters, bed height and separating time were systematically investigated. The results showed that the bed expansion increased linearly with the superficial air velocity and theoretically, higher bed expansion benefited the hindered settling process of fine coal particles. However, larger superficial air velocity would induce intense fluctuation in bed surface and a poor performance of density segregation. The conveying velocity of particles was mainly determined by the vibration angle and a predicted model was established by the nonlinear regression analysis. A theoretical model of bed height distribution was established and this model fitted the measured value well. The beneficiation performance of this separator was evaluated by separating -3+1 mm Wuhai fine coal. The results showed that the probable error, E, is 0.225, indicating a continuous vibrated gas-fluidized bed separator could achieve a satisfactory performance.INTRODUCTIONFine coal beneficiation in a dry way is considerably imperative for the efficient utilization and conservation of coal resource in drought regions, especially for China. In recent years, the increasing academic interest in the field of fine coal dry beneficiation has been aroused in most of big coal countries. In summary, recent processes of fine coal dry beneficiation are, according to their processing principles, mainly classified into two categories: dense medium beneficiation (Dong et al., 2015; Fan, Chen, Zhao, & Luo, 2001; Luo et al., 2008; Macpherson, Iveson, & Galvin, 2011) and improved pneumatic beneficiation (Patil & Parekh, 2011; Yang, Zhao, Luo, Song, & Chen, 2013; Yang, Zhao, Luo, Song, Duan, et al., 2013; Zhao, Zhao, Chen, & Luo, 2015). The former deploys artificial dense medium, such as magnetite powder and fine sand, to form a stable gas-solid suspension with certain density under the function of the upward fluidizing air flow and in some case, the external force field like vibration and magnetic field. Generally, it is believed that the process of air dense medium fluidized bed (ADMFB) is suitable for separation of coarse coal (-50+6 mm) and can't obtain a satisfactory result for fine coal separation (Luo, Chen, & Zhao, 2002; Luo et al., 2008). However, some recent laboratory efforts (Patil & Parekh, 2011; Zhang et al., 2014) attempt to find an improved performance for fine coal beneficiation in ADMFB with some modifications. The point of these works is to use a comparatively shallow bed and finer magnetite powder with appropriate size distribution. It is known that fluidization of finer magnetite powder is prone to arouse adverse fluidization properties such as channeling and slugging. Thus, the external force is introduced to an ADMFB in order to improve the fluidization quality of a magnetite powder bed. Some recent literature on air dense medium magnetically stabilized fluidized beds (Fan et al., 2001; Luo, Zhao, Chen, Fan, & Tao, 2002; Song, Zhao, Luo, & Tang, 2012), air dense medium vibrated fluidized beds (Luo et al., 2008) and Reflux Classifier (Macpherson, Iveson, & Galvin, 2010) reports that the separation efficiency, namely the probably error E value, of dense medium separation of fine coal ranges from 0.066 to 0.07, indicating a good separation performance. But, the main unresolved problems of dense medium beneficiation are located in the processes of product purification and medium recovery and are urgent to be solved befor"

The purchase of mechanical equipment for mines is not unlike the purchase of other materials or supplies in general principle, but on account of the major part such equipment plays in the operations, and of the fact that life and valuable property are at stake, the matter demands the most careful attention on the part of the purchaser. The problems and difficulties encountered are dealt with below in their sequence in the purchasing procedure. Requisiting Although it is quite a common practice to submit a tentative specification of requirements to recognized manufacturers of equipment- soliciting alternative propositions or recommendations for study in the selection of certain equipment-as a rule the first step in purchasing procedure is the requisition. Primarily, it is the form that carries to the purchasing department the record of equipment wanted. A full and complete description or specification, and accuracy of record, are the important points to be insisted on in a requisition. Too much attention cannot be given to this detail, as this is one of 'the most important phases of purchasing work. Incomplete information, either in specification or detail, leads to delay in handling the requisition, and, if not detected in the purchasing department, may mean receipt of material which cannot be used for the purpose intended. In addition to description of material or equipment to be ordered, the requisition should also show where or what the equipment is for, whether for operating or new work. If for capital account, the number of the authority for expenditure should be given for record and distribution purposes.

"The Malartic gold camp includes the Malartic Gold Fields, Barnat, East-Malartic, Canadian Malartic and Sladen mines. From 1935 to 1984, these mines have yielded 212 403 kg of gold. They occur within a 900 m wide belt of highly sheared, dislocated and faulted volcanic and sedimentary rocks (Piché and part of the Pontiac groups) herein named the Malartic Tectonic Znne (MTZ). The zone trends WNW-ESE and separates two lithotectonic sedimentary domains, the Cadillac to the north and the Pontiac to the south. The sedimentary domains are characterized by their coherent fold generations consisting of open to tight reclined and recumbent F1 folds that have been refolded into series of asymmetric upright F2 folds. A flat-lying schistosity (S1 ) and a vertical pressure-solution cleavage (S2) are ubiquitous throughout. Discrete sets of brittle and brittleductile faults are synchronous and parallel to each of these two fabrics.The MTZ trends N320° in the northwestern sector of the town of Malartie, changing to N2800 at its easternmost extremity. The Malartie and Sladen faults constitute its northern and southern boundaries respectively. These two faults also bound another set of faults oriented N305°. Throughout the MTZ, the faults at N280° and N320° and those at N305° outline a series of anastomosed motifs that constitute the principal structural feature of the Malartic district. Locally, a fourth set of minor faults at N065° combines with the other three prominent sets. All these faults have disrupted the gold-bearing volcanic, sedimentary and intrusive rocks encountered throughout the MTZ.The MTZ comprises numerous lozenge-shaped blocks of komatiites and basalts or greywackes and black shales which are cut by disjointed dikes, sills and small intrusions of felsic and mafic rocks. The latter includes gabbro, diorite, lamprophyre, monzonite and pegmatite. They frequently fill conjugate sets of fractures. In some areas, they are clustered into coalescent intrusions. The present morphology of these intrusive bodies( cube, chocolate-tablet boudin, parallel epiped and cigar) is not representative of their primary forms but the result of late shearing and faulting indicative of a major tectonic event subsequent to their emplacement. The intrusions were injected during a brittle stage of deformation related to the F1 folding but prior to the development of the F2 folds and subsequent tearing and shearing by late brittle and brittle-ductile faults . The ultramafic and mafic rocks are intensely altered to serpentine, tremolite, actinolite, carbonate, biotite, hematite and pyrite according to the nature of their proto/it h. In the vicinity of the MTZ, all lithologies exhibit mineral assemblages indicative of the upper greenschist or lower amphibolite facies of metamorphism.The structural evolution of the MTZ involved superimposed folding, shearing, transposition, mylonitization, brittle and brittle-ductile faulting. Each lenticular motif results from the combined effect of conjugate sets of shear zones that outline lozenge-shaped blocks where strain markers indicate different strain states from cores to margins. Bedding in ultramafic flows and/or sedimentary rocks is either NW-SE or NE-SW within the blocks but, in the vicinity of the Malartie and S laden faults, it has been rotated to become subparallel to the faults.Ore shoots are most commonly associated with altered and deformed bodies of diorite and monzonite, or some mafic and ultramafic schists and, at the Canadian Malartic, Sladen and East Malartic mines, with metasedimentary rocks. The shoots occur in close proximity to the various faults of the MTZ but the gold itself is intimately associated with pyrite, biotite and carbonate in halos bordering fractures crisscrossing the different host rocks. The literature on the arsenic disposal practices of the metallurgical industry and the long term stability of the disposed arsenic compounds were reviewed from a Canadian perspective. The review was complemented with visits to selected operating metallurgical sites to obtain information on their specific arsenic disposal practices and the behaviour of their impounded residues. The arsenic disposal procedure currently favoured by the industry involves the formation of an insoluble ferric arsenate compound which is allowed to sediment at the bottom of tailings or residue ponds. It has been shown recently that this poorly formed crystalline compound is similar to ?arsenical ferrihydrite? which is ferrihydrite containing strongly adsorbed arsenate anions. Despite concerns about its long term stability on thermodynamic grounds, arsenical ferrihydrite appears to be stable for many years in the proper environment which includes a slightly acidic pH and oxidizing conditions. A high Fe/As ratio and the presence of heavy metals appear to increase the stability of arsenical ferrihydrite. High temperature operations, such as those encountered in the autoclave treatment of refractory gold ores, are conducive to the formation of scorodite, FeAsO42H2O, and/or a series of ferric arseno-hydroxy-sulphate compounds depending on the solution composition. Scorodite has several advantages over arsenical ferrihydrite as a disposal compound including a lower iron demand, a higher density and a greater thermodynamic stability. New procedures have been developed to generate scorodite at ambient pressure. These procedures would offer significant reductions in capital cost because of the elimination of the need for autoclaves. Lime precipitation which was widely used in the past is being abandoned as a result of strong evidence showing that calcium arsenate compounds decompose slowly in contact with atmospheric CO2 to form calcium carbonate and soluble arsenic acid. In all cases, the long term stability of the disposed arsenic compounds depends on a number of factors including disposal site characteristics, particle crystallinity and size distribution, the presence of complexing agents and the effect of bacterial activity.

This paper presents the results of an investigation of a full-scale rod mill. Appropriate numerical techniques are developed for the experimental determination of the parameters of a dynamic mathematical model from steady state data. The results confirm that this full-scale rod mill behaves similarly to laboratory-scale ball mills for which results have previously been obtained. It is noted, however, that although the model presented is adequate for predicting over-all particle size distributions, the size distributions of individual components of a multicomponent ore cannot be predicted.

The beginning of the electroforming technology dates itself on the beginning of the industrial revolution 1800 to 1820 approximately. Basis was the existence of electricity in order to be able to drive the electro-form-process. With the development of the electroforming, big names of the science-history, like Michael Faraday (1791? 1867), Sir Humphry Davy (1778?1829), Max Schlöter (1878?1946), Werner von Siemens (1816?1892), and many others. Already about 1840, the first monograph originated to electroforming (38). While in the first years the electro-forming most extensive only to the coating of art - or other usefulness-objects was used. At the beginning of the 20th century the formation of objects from pure metals became more and more, later also from alloys to application. One of the first bigger electroforming factory, the ?Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik? was working 1894 in Geislingen / Steige, Germany. In the industrial application, the electroforming-technology is to be imagined away for miscellaneous coatingtasks and the form-body-preparation no longer today (18). A little bit confusing is the german name ?galvano-technology?. It based on the Italian physiologist and naturalist Luigi Galvani (1737 ? 1798). This technically seen is however wrong, right, the name is electroforming. The physical bases were founded mainly by Michael Faraday and Sir Humphry Davy.
