These volumes report on the study initiated by the U. S. Bureau of Mines to develop and apply a methodology to quantitatively assess the probability and potential benefits of technological innovation over the next twenty-five years. The potential was recognized for new technology to solve copper industry problems in the United States. Objectives of the study were to: (1) Develop a methodology to obtain the opinions of mineral experts about future events -their likelihood of occurrence, and, conditional on occurrence, when and to what extent they are likely to occur; (2) Identify, select, and describe potential technological innovations which would have significant impact on copper production; (3) Implement the methodology and obtain the opinions of the mineral experts regarding selected copper technologies; and (4) Analyze the expected future benefits of successful technological innovations :n the copper industry. Although individual technologies are continuously examined throughout the copper 'community', this study is the first known comprehensive forecast of future copper technology. This study is also believed to be unique 1n that it represents the consensus opinion of over sixty expert copper technologists on the expected use of innovative technology in the industry over the next 25 years. The MIDAS project is funded by the European Commission (DG Research) and began on the 1st November 2013. The project will investigate the environmental impact of deep-sea mineral and energy extraction: specifically, polymetallic sulphides, manganese nodules, cobalt-rich ferromanganese crusts and the potential mining of rare earth elements. As deep-sea mining becomes ever closer, and the International Seabed Authority begins to develop its regulatory framework for exploitation of deep-sea minerals, MIDAS is well timed to provide fundamental scientific information. The MIDAS partnership represents a unique combination of scientists, industry, social scientists, legal experts, nongovernmental organisations and small and medium enterprises. MIDAS is carrying out research into the nature and scales of the potential impacts of mining including 1) physical disturbance of the seabed by mining, the creation of mine tailings; 2) the potential effects of particle-laden plumes in the water column, and 3) the possible toxic chemicals that might be released by the mining process. Key biological unknowns, such as connectivity between populations, impacts of the loss of biological diversity on ecosystem functioning, and how quickly the ecosystems will recover will all be addressed. The plan is to use this information to aid development of recommendations for best practice in the mining industry. A key component is the involvement of industry within the project and through stakeholder engagements to find feasible solutions. The project will work closely with European and international regulatory organisations to take these recommendations forward into legislation. A major element of MIDAS will be to develop methods and technologies for 1) preparing baseline assessments of biodiversity, and 2) monitoring activities remotely in the deep sea during and after exploitation, including ecosystem recovery. To carry out this work MIDAS is conducting a number of research cruises to examine the above issues at potential sites for exploitation of SMS and nodule deposits. This talk will present some of the recent findings of the project.

A 6200 m² cement deep soil mixed (CDSM) wall was constructed for an addition to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. The addition was located along the east side of the existing museum within an existing courtyard and in the area of a recently demolished structure. The basement for the new addition extended up to 9.1 m below the floor slabs of the adjacent buildings. The adjacent buildings are supported on a variety of foundations including; shallow spread footings on alluvial sand deposits, low capacity piles bearing in the alluvial sands and Boston blue clay, and caissons bearing on the alluvial sands and clay. Groundwater was less than one meter below the top of the CDSM wall. The new addition was founded on shallow foundations in the desiccated crust of the Boston Blue Clay. The CDSM wall was selected as the most economical means to control deep seated ground movements, limit movements of adjacent structures, and inhibit groundwater flow into the excavation. Braces and a continuous wale were used to support the CDSM wall where it was located adjacent to structures. Tiebacks were used where there were no structures. Other geotechnical construction at the site included: ? Jet grouting (JG) to improve the ground and provide an impervious subgrade layer at the west end of the addition, ? Concrete pier underpinning was used to support an existing structure on the west end of the site, and ? A secant pile wall using alternating drilled shafts and jet grout columns was used for earth support and a barrier to groundwater flow to allow for the installation of a storage tank at the south end of the site. Inclinometers, total station surveying, vibrating wire strain gauges on the braces and wales and load cells on the tiebacks were used to monitor performance of the excavation support system. The excavation support system performed better than required limiting lateral movements of the adjacent structures to less than 13 mm and vertical settlement to less than 8 mm. No settlements or movement were detected during the construction of the wall. Lateral movement of the CDSM wall was typically below 15 mm with the maximum movement occurring near subgrade.

Mine seals are used in underground coal mines throughout the United States to isolate abandoned mining areas from the active mine workings. The objective of adding inert gas to a sealed mine area is to quickly reduce the oxygen concentration in the sealed area to a level that will not support combustion. In the US, this process is typically conducted from the ground surface and because surface-to-mine access is constrained by so many variables, it is very difficult to provide a source of inert gas to the place where it is needed underground. To alleviate this problem On Site Gas Systems, under a NIOSH contract, built a nitrogen (N2) generation plant that operates in the underground environment. The purpose of this work was to create a reliable in-mine mobile plant that would extract N2 gas from the mine atmosphere and use the gas to create and maintain a safe sealed mine area. The plant is based on a novel design using pressure swing adsorption technology and is sized to fit on a standard shield car or mine dolly for easy transport in and around an underground coal mine. The plant is capable of producing about 900 scf/min of N2 gas at ambient mine conditions. After an exhaustive series of laboratory tests, the plant was field tested at the NIOSH Safety Research Coal Mine (SRCM) where a portion of the mine was sealed and rendered inert. During the test, the movement of the injected gas was monitored at several underground points to observe the progress and extent of the inerting process. This paper describes the plant design and the results of the field test at the SRCM. A variety of environmental financial assurance instruments are in use across the globe. This paper reviews some of the more common forms currently used in New Zealand, Canada, USA and Australia. In order to be effective, the form of assurance instrument selected needs to be aligned with a countryÆs specific environmental objectives, geography and political climates and also allow for a healthy investment climate. Industry and Government both have a strong interest in ensuring financial assurance criteria meet these objectives.   Recently Golder Associates have been involved in financial assurance assessments for various mining and quarrying companies across the South Island. Multiple stakeholders and regulatory agencies can make the setting of effective and fair financial assurance criteria a complex exercise for both regulatory agencies and industry.  The author relates experience gained in assessing financial assurance under current New Zealand legislation (RMA, 1991), effectively dealing with issues such as ôdouble bondingö and overviews potential approaches to dealing with transitional issues for historic and existing operating mine sites.

"1.0 SYNOPSISThe Colomac property, located 137 miles by air northwest of Yellowknife in Canada's NWT. will recover gold from 10,000 tons per day of open pit ore.The decision to proceed with the project was based on a mineable ore reserve of 16 million tons (including dilution) averaging 0.064 oz/ton. After an in-fill drilling program in the latter half of 1988, Colomac's mineable, proven and probable ore reserves were increased to 28 million tons averaging 0.056 oz/ton of gold.A feasibility study completed by Wright Engineers for Neptune Resources in December 1987 examined the possibility of vat leaching followed by C.l.P. and electrowinning. A second feasibility study completed by Wright in February 1988 demonstrated that a conventional agitated leach circuit using a finer grind justified the higher capital cost of this process. This study was accepted and formed the basis of the project authorization.Preliminary engineering commenced in April 1988 and detailed engineering was started in September of that year with the objective of a mine/mill start-up by early 1990.The short time period available to meet the project deadline was additionally challenging, as site access is either by plane year round, and winter road from early February to late March. Normal lead times for equipment design, specifications, quotations and bid analyses were not possible, if the winter road time-slot was to be met."

To design a blast, one must give consideration to safety, economics, geometry, geology, production needs, and a variety of other requirements. To compare designs requires the time to develop alternatives, analyze, and then improve on them. A number of tools are available to assist with the first set of requirements, however they are poorly integrated. SHOTPlus is a program to improve the efficiency of blasting operations, by combining measurement and blast design tools, and offers the user the time and means to modify designs and explore alternatives.

"Environmental considerations are a key driver within marine mining consenting processes across different national and international legislative regimes and are critical in shaping the global public perception of the industry. As a result, it is vital that mining companies seeking to operate within marine environments establish a robust understanding of the sensitivities of the seabed environments in which they are active, the impacts of their activities and the ability of the environment to recover from these impacts. The significant risks of failing to do so include an inability to either obtain or maintain operating permits. At the individual project level, the environmental effects of any given development project are typically defined within the scope of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). For well-established industries operating in well-studied environments this approach typically works well. However, where emerging industries or existing industries that are operating within new environments are concerned, there may be significant knowledge gaps pertaining to our understanding of how specific anthropogenic practices or activities interact with the marine environment. These knowledge gaps can cause significant uncertainties pertaining to the likely significant effects of a project. Such uncertainties may result in barriers to industry and economic progress, increased consenting risks, increased project costs to be borne by individual project developers through the acquisition of additional environmental data during the pre-consent or post-consent project phases, project delays and/or significant increases in environmental monitoring burdens with corresponding increases in project costs."

This paper summarizes the development of a mechanistic model to predict longwall mining induced surface subsidence. The model was originally developed from data acquired from a recent field study conducted in Northern West Virginia. Additional data has been collected from published sources and used to refine the model. The original model utilizes a negative exponential equation to predict the subsidence profile after the maximum possible subsidence is predicted based on the following input parameters: mine geometry, angle of draw and expansion factors for the deformation zones that have been identified above a longwall excavation. The model refinement involved the development of relationships between physical properties of the overburden strata and angle of draw in addition to the expansion or bulking factors. Therefore the refined model now requires only mine geometry and a typical geologic column from the site to predict the subsidence profile. This paper provides the methodology that enables the model to determine the angle of draw and expansion factors breed on physical properties of the site geology i. e. percent of strong rock and Rock Quality Designation of the overburden strata. In addition :comparisons of predicted results with measured data for over H) different sites with various geological and geometrical parameters located throughout the United States will be presented.

"The Nyrstar Port Pirie Smelter, located on the eastern shore of the Upper Spencer Gulf in South Australia 230km north of Adelaide, began operation in 1889 to process lead concentrate from the Broken Hill lead and silver mines. The site still operates an updraft sinter machine, commissioned in 1955, with the product fed into a blast furnace. While sinter plant technology has changed and improved since 1955, development has reached the stage where further enhancements are not possible or economic. High purity lead concentrates command lower margins and for the smelter to remain economically viable a wider range of higher value materials must be treated. The current flowsheet cannot meet this demand. Additionally, community blood lead levels particularly in children below four years of age, are a critical indicator used to measure the site’s environmental performance. The smelter’s environmental licence to operate is dependent on meeting future community and regulatory expectations. To achieve this a major step change in the emission performance of the smelter is required. Since 2008 pre-feasibility work has been undertaken to develop a new flowsheet and business model to allow Port Pirie to operate sustainably into the future. The main requirements were for the smelter to reduce lead and sulfur dioxide emissions that impact on the local environment and community to meet current and future environmental expectations, as well as dramatically reducing current feed constraints and change the business case from a marginal business to a sustainable profitable business. After reviewing all practical options a decision was made to replace the sinter plant with an Outotec Top Submerged Lance (TSL) furnace. This paper describes how the new furnace technology was selected and how it will be integrated into the present flowsheet; the unique funding arrangements that are in place to deliver the redeveloped site; and future opportunities that are associated with the implementation of the new flowsheet. The structure of a comprehensive research project into mine fires study applying the Ventgraph mine fire simulation software, preplanning of escape scenarios and general interaction with rescue responses is outlined. The project has Australian Coal Association Research Program (ACARP) funding and also relies on substantial mining company site support. This practical input from mine operators is essential and allows the approach to be introduced in the most creditable way. The effort is built around the introduction of fire simulation computer software to the Australian mining industry and the consequent modelling of fire scenarios in selected different mine layouts. Application of the simulation software package to the changing mine layouts requires experience to achieve realistic outcomes. Most Australian mines of size currently use a ventilation network simulation program. Under the project a small subroutine has been written to transfer the input data from the existing mine ventilation network simulation program to æVentgraphÆ. This has been tested successfully. To understand fire simulation behaviour on the mine ventilation system, it is necessary to understood the possible effects of mine fires on various mine ventilation systems correctly first. Case studies demonstrating the possible effects of fires on some typical Australian coal mine ventilation circuits have been examined. The situation in which there is some gas make at the face and effects with fire have also been developed to emphasise how unstable and dangerous situations may arise. The primary objective of the part of the study described in this paper is to use mine fire simulation software to gain better understanding of how spontaneous combustion initiated fires can interact with the complex ventilation behaviour underground during a substantial fire. It focuses on the simulation of spontaneous combustion sourced heatings that develop into open fires. Further, it examines ventilation behaviour effects of spontaneous combustion initiated pillar fires and examines the difficulties these can be present if a ventilation reversal occurs. It also briefly examines simulation of use of the inertisation to assist in mine recovery. Mine fires are recognised across the world as a major hazard issue. New approaches allowing improvement in understanding their consequences have been developed as an aid in handling this complex area.

Tool manufacturers are required to provide declarations of vibration emission values in order to sell their tools within Europe. To ensure that users can compare results obtained from different manufacturers, the declared values must be obtained using a methodology as specified in the relevant test code (such as in the ISO 8662 series of standards). In most cases, the vibration emission values obtained using test codes under-estimate the vibration that an operator will be exposed to when using the tool on a work-site. A further problem with manufacturers’ data is that usually only a single value is provided for a tool. This is despite many factors affecting the vibration emission, including inserted tool type, work piece, operator technique, tool condition. New improved test codes are in the process of being developed. In order to provide guidance to users on how to interpret manufacturers’ data, a Draft CEN Technical Report (Draft CEN/TR 15350 (2005)) was developed. Part of the CEN/TR provides multiplication factors for combinations of task and tool type. For example, data obtained from electrical hammer drills (tested according to EN 60745-2-6:2003) should be multiplied by 2, for hammering applications, in order to obtain an estimate of the vibration emission during work. In response to concerns from industry, the UK trade association OPERC have, in collaboration with hire companies and tool manufacturers, established a freely accessible online database of tool emission values based on independent tests carried out under simulated work-site conditions. This paper reports some of the data obtained from electrical hammer drills, highlighting the range of emission values that can be obtained for a tool. Data from many other tool types are also included in the database. Methods Tri-axial hand-arm vibration was measured at both handles of each of 19 electrical hammer drills, in accordance with ISO 5349-1 (2001). Each tool was measured with three experienced operators and at least 5 runs were completed for each operator. Tools were tested using a range of appropriate new bits from 4 to 40 mm diameter. The minimum number of bits for a tool was 3; the maximum number was 29. 146 tool / bit combinations are reported here, representing about 2200 individual 6-axis measurements. Operators were required to drill vertically into a concrete block with a compressive strength after 28 days of 40 N/mm². Two drills (1 and 15) were battery powered; others were powered using a 110V transformer supply.

Southland contains over 70 per cent of New ZealandÆs recoverable coal resources, and an investigation into the potential effects of coal mining on SouthlandÆs water resources is therefore of interest. This paper investigates pit-lake water quality in relation to current mining activities within the sub-bituminous coal and lignite deposits of Southland.   Water quality data was collected from pit-lakes in sub-bituminous and lignite deposits from October 2005 to March 2006. After periods of settled weather, turbidity increased with depth at the sub-bituminous pit-lake (10 - 21 NTUs from 5 - 30 m). In the stratified sub-bituminous pit-lake in March 2006, heavy rainfall caused higher turbidity in the epilimnion than the top of the hypolimnion (20 NTU vs 13 NTU) reflecting surface water runoff (up to 1993 NTUs) and epilimnion mixing. In contrast, turbidity at the lignite sites was variable due to the shallowness of the lakes, but noticeable increases following disturbance and adverse weather were recorded. High turbidity at the sub-bituminous deposits was attributed to the presence of clay minerals such as kaolinite whereas turbidity at the lignite sites was more likely short term and a result of heavier minerals such as quartz.   Trace element concentrations at both sites were low when compared to mine waters in other coal areas in New Zealand and no samples exceeded ANZECC water quality trigger values for 80 per cent species protection. Pit-lake water pH levels were lower and more variable in the lignite deposit (4.18 - 7.30 vs 7.24 - 8.98 in the sub-bituminous deposits). In the lignite pit-lakes, higher concentrations of trace elements (eg Dissolved As - 0.034 ppm and Dissolved Mn - 1.09 ppm) and lower pH (ÿ4) were observed at the bottom of active pits compared to inactive pits. It is possible that quartz pebble conglomerates containing sulphide minerals within the lignite seams are responsible for this.   Further investigation into the mine waters, waste rock and lake sediments will help get a better understanding of the results observed and long term processes that occur.

Around the world, mining has been done for thousands of years for the benefit of humankind. The winning process in mining operations ends with the depletion of the deposit or its closure if the operation becomes economically unprofitable. After that, a period of post-mining follows which may last for a very long time and which is generally regarded as a period of hazards, risk and high cost. In the USA alone, approximately 500,000 abandoned mines do exist; worldwide, there are millions. In Germany, too, we have had to deal with abandoned mines for a considerable period of time now.

In-pit crushing and conveying (IPCC) is being increasingly considered as an alternative to traditional truck-shovel mining methods. The move towards IPCC is driven by a number of factors including the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the availability of skilled labour and the need to increase extraction rates to levels that present significant challenges to traditional methods.When considering the relative performance of IPCC and truck-shovel methods, the outcome can be inadvertently impacted by either the use of different simulation approaches, or techniques that do not adequately model the processes in sufficient detail.A simulation approach is proposed that models both IPCC and truck-shovel using the same software platform and is capable of functioning at a wide range of resolutions from life-of-mine scale through to second-by-second asset tracking level. The simulation framework also holds models of processing equipment and hence the mining simulations can be extended to gauge the impact on downstream plant.The approach, known as mine-process operational simulation (MPOS), can be tailored to the level of information available and hence the type of study required, ie order of magnitude, prefeasibility, feasibility, or detailed design.Using information from block models and a range of detailed equipment and process models, MPOS can span major system discontinuities, typified by the mine-plant interface, to allow the estimation of final mine and plant product specifications.

The ball mill in closed circuit with hydrocyclones is an industry standard, and well known methodologies exist for equipment sizing, selection and design. However, the potential to improve the capacity of ball mill circuits by replacing cyclones with screens has been recognised for many years and recently has been successfully realised, thanks to developments in fine screening technology. Proper methodology for equipment sizing and selection is required to capitalise on this opportunity, but there is currently insufficient information and few guidelines available on how to design such a circuit. This paper discusses the differences between ball mill circuits closed with cyclones and with screens. A methodology is described for equipment sizing and selection for a circuit closed with screens, and the laboratory testing requirements are described for low grade base metal ores and magnetite ores. An economic evaluation is also presented for a case study demonstrating the potential benefits of closing a ball mill circuit with screens.CITATION:Jankovic, A and Valery, W, 2013. Expansion and the economic growth in the southwestern region of Missouri necessitated the expansion of State Route 249 and the construction of a new interchange to provide service to the Joplin, Missouri area. The project is located above a former lead and zinc mine in Jasper County, Missouri and includes a five bridge interchange connecting State Route 249 and US Route 171. The variable subsurface conditions, both natural and manmade, prompted the design team to use ground improvement via grouting and small diameter micropiles to provide support for several of the bridge foundations on the project. The scope of work included mine shaft closures, 56,000 ft of overburden and rock drilling, 11,139 ft of micropiles, 524 cy of balanced/stabilized high mobility grouts, and over 8,700 cy of low mobility grout. The selection of the grout used was based on the actual subsurface conditions. Low mobility grout (LMG) was used in voided conditions and for closure of the mine shafts encountered during the excavation. High mobility grout (HMG) was used in fractured rock with the goal of improving the mechanical properties of the rock underneath the future bridge footings and controlling grout volumes during micropile installation. The split spacing method was utilized for both LMG and HMG holes. Geology of the project site subsurface consisted of extremely variable bedrock with strong to very strong limestone, chert, breccia, extremely weak shale, and weak to strong sandstone. Previous activities associated with the mining disturbance (such as partial filled vertical mine shafts, shallow and deep mine horizons, modified hydrology including artesian conditions) further complicates the site subsurface conditions. Real time monitoring and recording of all drilling and grouting parameters was conducted to assist in the evaluation of in-situ geological properties of the site in order to modify the ground improvement and micropile program as necessary. This paper will discuss the design and execution of the ground improvement and micropile program. The project is an excellent example of the use of multiple ground improvement and foundation support techniques combined with real time data analysis to provide a foundation support solution for a complex geological environment.

"The ores of the Iberian Pynte Belt are typically massive sulphide ores with very fine grained mineral textures. EuroZinc Mining Corporation is currently evaluating one of the massive sulphide deposits located near the town of Aljustrel, in South Central Portugal. The deposit contains significant grades of lead, zinc and silver. The ores are comprised solely of sulphide mineralization consisting of pyrite, sphalerite, galena and some secondary copper minerals. Liberation requirements for these ores are typically 22 to 25 microns. A selective flotation process has been utilized to produce separate lead and zinc concentrates for sale to off-site contract smelters.This paper outlines the process test results and describes the process parameters required to optimize the process parameters. Ths test program has been conducted in support of the re-opening of the facilities in Aljustrel. The 3500 tpd mining and milling facility was commissioned in 1990 and operated for 18 months before closing. The previous facility was designed to produce three products using a selective copper-lead-zinc flotation process. EuroZinc Mining Corporation is proposing to re-open the operation, selectively mining from a lead-zinc phase of the massive sulphide deposit and produce only lead and zinc concentrates.Results are presented and discussed.PROJECT HISTORY AND CURRENT PROJECT OBJECTIVESThe EuroZinc Aljustrel Project is a potential major producer of lead, zinc and silver located in the Iberian Pyrite belt of south-central Portugal. The town of Aljustrel is historically associated with mining dating to the time of the Romans. The area is rich in pyrite deposits, and sections of the pyrite deposits contain significant zones of copper, lead, zinc and silver. Mining in Aljustrel during the last century (1900’s) included a major pyrite mining operation, which produced feed for sulphuric acid production. Pynte mining operated from the 1930’s to the early 1970’s and a short-lived base metal operation from 1989 to 199 1."

RÉSUMÉ La restauration du site minier Poirier, à Joutel s?est déroulée entre 1998 et 2001. Le principal élément des travaux a été la restauration du parc à résidus et des zones d?épanchement qui totalisaient 4,5 millions tonnes de résidus répartis sur une superficie de 74 hectares. Les résidus sont fortement générateurs de drainage minier acide. La première partie de la présentation consiste en un bref rappel du concept de restauration suivi d?une description des principaux éléments de travaux avec l?emphase sur les leçons apprises de l?exécution des travaux. La deuxième partie de la présentation est axée sur les résultats du programme de suivi en cours depuis la fin des travaux en 2001. Les éléments de suivi se rapportent à la baisse du niveau de la nappe phréatique à l?intérieur de la cellule, au tassement des résidus dans la cellule, aux mesures de température et d?oxygène à l?intérieur de la cellule et finalement à l?amélioration dans la qualité de l?eau de surface. ABSTRACT The reclamation of Poirier Mine, in Joutel, was carried out between 1998 and 2001. The main component of the works has been the reclamation of the tailings basin and tailings spill area which contained a total of 4,5 million tonnes of tailings and occupied some 74 hectares of ground surface. The mine tailings are highly acid-generating. The first part of the presentation will deal with a brief review of the reclamation plan followed by a short description of the main work components laying emphasis on experience gained during construction. The second part of the presentation will deal with the results obtained from the environmental monitoring program still in progress since the end of reclamation work in 2001. The aspects discussed include the drawdown of pore water inside the covered tailing pile, the settlement of mine waste material, the monitoring of moisture, temperature and oxygen underneath the liner and finally, the reduction of loadings in surface water.

The knowledge of the geological sequence and hydrological conditions in the area of portals was the basis for the design of the entry of the highway into tunnel Trojane. Mudstone, claystone and sandstone dominate the rock layering, which is tectonically reworked and contains structural anomalies. The complexity of the sequence makes it impossible to survey all the relevant features along the full 3km length of the tunnel. Sudden and frequent transitions between litological sequences impose potential instabilities and make the excavation of the tunnel particularly difficult. The initial survey established the zones of potential failures. These were monitored using topographic survey and inclinometers with an aim to make further geotechnical analyses more reliable and adjusted to the ground conditions. The analyses of the wall construction and the results of the monitoring showed that the design of the retaining wall was adequate. La connaissance de la séquence géologique et des conditions hydrologiques dans l'aire des portails a été la base pour la planification de l'entrée de l'autoroute dans le tunnel Trojane. Le schiste, l'argilite et le grès dominent la couche rocheuse qui est tectoniquement transformée et contient les anomalies structurales. A cause de la complexité de la séquence, il est impossible de revoir toutes les particularités le long des 3 kilomètres de la toute longueur du tunnel. Les transitions soudaines et fréquentes entre les séquences lithologiques imposent l'instabilité potentielle et font l'excavation du tunnel particulièrement difficile. La revue initiale a été établie sur les zones où il existe l'éboulement potential. Elles étaient contrôlées à l'aide de la revue topographique et de l'inclinomètre pour que les analyses géotechniques suivantes soient plus sûres et adaptées aux conditions du sol. Les analyses de la construction des murs et des résultats du contrôle ont montré que la planification du mur réteneur était correspondante. Der Autobahneingang in den Trojane Tunnel war projektiert auf Basis von der Kenntnis der geologischen und hydrogeologischen Bedingungen in dem Portalgebiet. Das Gebiet besteht aus dem Tonstein und dem Sandstein. Die Schichten sind tektonisch verformt und sind deswegen sehr heterogen. Die anfaenglichen Untersuchungen haben die Zonen von den potentiellen Bruechen definiert. Weitere geotechnische Analysen waren fitted an reale geologische Bedingungen durch das Monitoring der potentiellen Bruchzonen, welches aus den topographyschen Messungen und Inklinometerdaten entstand. Die Analyse des Wandbaues und die Resultate von dem Monitoring haben erwiesen, dass die Wandprojektierung entsprechend war.
