Water recycling is of prime importance in mineral processing due to consumption of large amount of water. This issue is vital in areas with a low rainfall such as Shahre-Babak (Kerman, Iran). Deep cone thickeners, unlike conventional thickeners, have a low diameter to height ratio where large amounts of flocculants are used to increase particles settling rates. The high bed heights (over 10 m) produce enough pressure to create a paste type underflow indicating maximum water recovery. Flocculent preparation, conditioning, and distribution along with the bed height are among the important factors affecting the performance. Four deep cones are used to recover water from the tailings of the plant. Plant data indicated that the thickener never reached the target underflow percent solids (63%) and the average underflow concentrations were between 49 and 57%. By modification and optimization of flocculent preparation and distribution methods the underflow percent solids increased by 3-4%. This translated to an increase of water recovery from 67 to 73%. In this study, a montmorillonite organo-intercalation compound (MOIC) was synthesized by using a Na-modified bentonite (NaB) as a matrix and hexadecyltrimethylammonium (HDTMA) bromide as an intercalating reagent under microwave irradiation. The synthesized products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), organic carbon content measurement, and adsorption density determination. The results show that, at 10% suspension concentration and 10 minutes irradiation in a 130-W microwave oven, the basal spacing d(001) of the synthesized MOIC increases to 2.209 nm from the original 1.218 nm of NaB. The MOIC has much higher adsorptive densities to nitrobenzene and aniline from aqueous solution than the NaB. The adsorption isotherm of nitrobenzene on the MOIC is linear, and the adsorption is mainly the result of nitrobenzene?s preferred partition in MOIC over aqueous solution due to MOIC?s hydrophobicity. The adsorption isotherm of aniline on MOIC follows the Freundlich equation and the increased adsorption is not only the result of aniline?s preferred partition in MOIC over aqueous solution but also that of the MOIC?s surface adsorptions.

The paper studied the extraction characteristics of the fly ash from a location in Guizhou province. Under ordinary pressure, the fly ash is extracted by an acid and alkali, and then studied for its reaction characteristics with different extraction agentia, temperature, consistence and time. The results of acid extraction show that there are good reaction characteristics for Fe2O3 with HCl and the extraction rate decreases with the increasing of extraction time. There are good selective characteristics between Al2O3 and H2SO4 and they weaken with the increasing of temperature and the expanding of time. The best extraction results are shown with CaO and MgO because of their chemical characteristics and the over-saturation degree of the extraction processing. In addition, It?s found that it cannot leach all the substances from fly ash even with the higher consistence (10mol/L) of extraction agent, the longer extraction time (2h) and the higher temperature (100?) .It shows that the extraction rate of Fe2O3 is 82.81% and that of Al2O3 is 29.01%. The results of alkali extraction show that the extraction rate increases with the consistence of extraction agent and temperature, and the extraction rate of SiO2 by NaOH increases rapidly with the time expanding while that of Al2O3 falls gradually.

"A pilot test campaign was undertaken to evaluate dense medium cyclone separation efficiencies on samples of iron ore fines (-1mm +300µm). Evaluations were done using both gas and water atomised FeSi types across a range of operating conditions in the presence of slimes build-up. A Mineral Liberation Analyser (MLA) was used to measure size, density, shape and liberation data of DMS feed and products. The results of the test work were used to obtain parameters for modelling of the partition size/density response. The findings indicated that accurate density characterisation of the feed ore is essential in understanding product quality and recovery, particularly due to the effect of porosity and micro-inclusions. A significant off-set between cyclone underflow density and separation cut-point (D50) was found indicating that relatively low feed media densities (about 3.4g/cm3) are required to achieve high density cutpoints of over 4.0g/cm3. In agreement with CFD modelling, the separation quality is dominated by viscous effects, hence FeSi type and slimes content will need to be carefully controlled to ensure efficient separation.INTRODUCTION In the South African context, future resources of hematite are expected to be both of lower head grade and will contain a higher content of banded iron formation (BIF) (1). These ores may require finer crushing in order to liberate the high-grade fractions and will thus increase the amount of -1mm material to be processed. In order to efficiently upgrade these materials, it becomes necessary to re-examine both traditional and novel processes to treat material finer than 1mm in size. These include spiral and up-current classifiers, wet high intensity magnetic separation processes, Reflux classification and potentially includes dense medium separation (DMS). This study presents a technical evaluation of fines DMS using a mineralogically-based particle tracking analysis method (PTA) to calculate efficiencies of separation."

The sediments near coasts and ports in Korea have been found to be contaminated with heavy metals and organic matters. So far the sediments have been dumped to landfill sites or ocean. However, the number of available landfill sites is decreasing and ocean disposal of wastes was strictly prohibited. Although physical separation processes have been found to be useful for the remediation of contaminated soil with heavy metals, because the sediments consist of fine particles, it is difficult to remove heavy metal component by physical separation processes. Furthermore, the sediments contain organic matter, so there is a concern about strong stink during the sediment treatment. The present study is aimed to develop the treatment process for removing heavy metals and organic matter from the contaminated sediments. The heavy metals and organic matter were oxidized and dissolved by electro-generated chlorine, and the chlorine used is regenerated and circulated in the leaching process. This system has economic and environmental advantages to reduce the wastewater and the oxidant consumption. The leaching results show that the metal removal efficiency increased to more than 99%, and more than 50% of organic matter was decomposed.

"The adsorption of xanthate takes place at a different potential on each major sulfide mineral, hence, as it was demonstrated in the past, each mineral component can be selectively separated from ore under well controlled potential conditions. In real flotation this concept never works out for two reasons: the potential of single mineral particle results from complex surface reactions controlled by solution chemistry, and there is a galvanic interaction between different mineral particles present in the flotation pulp.In this study the formation of amyl xanthate hydrophobic products on pyrite, galena and chalcopyrite has been spectroscopically investigated in the presence of combinations of these minerals. The type of the adsorbed species and their amount were determined directly on mineral surfaces by infrared external reflection technique. Galvanic contact between grains of two different minerals has tremendous consequence on the adsorption of collector on both minerals. The detected changes are dramatic, from no adsorption to a coverage formation of a few monolayers. The results obtained indicate clearly that the observations and conclusions about the collector adsorption, hence also the surface hydrophobization, made for a single mineral system does not describe the real situation in a multi-component mineral system such as flotation pulp."

Large variations in flotation characteristics of minerals have been observed in winter and summer in plant practices as a result of changes in pulp temperature. Variations in temperature may affect the quality for pulp and related process water through changes in dissociation of different chemical species within the pulp, as well as changing in gas and metal hydroxide solubility, reagent adsorption and its stability on mineral surfaces, water/pulp viscosity, etc. All of these affect the flotation characteristics of specific mineral to some degree or another. It has been observed in Cu-Pb-Zn and/or Pb-Zn sulfides flotation that sphalerite (ZnS) flotation is strongly affected by changes in pulp temperature. Plant practices have shown that at the both low, e.g., T <10-12°C, and high, e.g., T > 60°C, the recovery for copper activated sphalerite is dramatically dropped. Within this paper the effect of pulp temperature on flotation characteristics of sphalerite is brought into considerations and laboratory flotation tests were conducted in conjunction with surface and solution chemistry analysis to understand the effect of temperature on sphalerite recovery. The effect of temperature seems to be complex since the temperature affects both the physical (hydrodynamics) and chemical phenomena in the flotation cell. In fact all sub-processes in flotation, i.e., collision, attachment and detachment, are affected by changing in temperature. Experimental results indicating that at alkaline pH values, e.g., 8.5 to 10.5, the recovery for copper-activated sphalerite is dramatically reduced when temperature is below 10-12°C, which is in agreement with plant practice at Boliden?s Garpenberg plant in Sweden. However, results from other studies indicated that the zinc recovery is also considerably decreased at high pulp temperatures, i.e., 62°C and above.

Semi-industrial test on fine products of Meishan dressing plant was carried out with type RP80/25 high pressure roller mill produced by Homburg Corporation of Germany, and the influences of such factors as energy consumption, water containing, throughput and circulating load on rolling effect were investigated. Closed circuit experiment result showed that Meishan iron ore could be suitable for powder grinding with high pressure roller mill, and energy consumption of the operation was declined by 25%~30%, which was favorable for energy-saving, increasing production efficiency and improving grinding effects. According to above experimental results, this paper put forward the technical proposal of application of high pressure roller mill in Meishan, and pointed out some technical problems which needed to be settled urgently in technology disposal.

The Kiruna area is an important mining province in northern Sweden, which is dominated by Fe- and Cu-Au deposits. Economically most important for the region, are the apatite iron ores with an annual production of c. 43 M ton of crude Fe-ore and a total production of more than 2000 M ton of ore the last 100 years. The apatite iron ores in the Kiruna area are dominated by either Magnetite or Haematite and contain varying amounts of apatite giving them a content of Fe and P, which varies between 30-70 % and 0.05-5 %, respectively. A typical geochemical feature of the ores is the strong enrichment of REE that is caused by a high content of REE in apatite and the occurrence of Allanite and Monazite containing 22.4 and 69.8 wt% REO, respectively. At Kiirunavaara, the content of REE in apatite varies between 0.07 to 1.57 wt% REO with a dominance for the light rare earths. The variation in REE-content of apatite depending on textural and paragenetic aspects is not known but apatite grains may display a strong LREE-depletion due to hydrothermal alteration. Monazite occurs as rod-shaped or tabular inclusions in apatite and is suggested, to have formed in response to hydrothermal alteration of apatite after the emplacement of the ore. Inclusions are mainly found in the central part of apatite grains occurring in veins and schliren, while they are rare in apatite occurring disseminated in the ore. Monazite also occurs as larger grains outside apatite and together with Allanite is found in texturally and paragenetically different settings within the ore. These occurrences of REE-minerals may largely be a product of LREE mobilized by alteration of apatite after the emplacement of the ore. However, REE-minerals including Allanite and Monazite might also have formed directly from late magmatic fluids. Hydrocyclone is widely used in closed-circuit grinding process. However, in the first classification operation of coarse particles with high pulp density, the shortcomings of traditional cyclone are that the grinding cycle load is much high, the apex of cyclone is easily to be blocked and classification efficiency is less. Specifically, the problems of traditional cyclone used in grinding process are as follows: (1) Mill utilization factor is low and its handling capacity is small. (2) Coarse particles mixing in cyclone overflow affects the following separation process and fine particles mixing in underflow causes over-grinding, which affects the total recovery rate of valuable minerals. (3) High grinding cycle load leads to large amount of high-density slurry pumping, which causes high energy consumption and severe wear of cyclones, pipelines and pumps. The applications of new type pre-classification hydrocyclone with centrifugal volute in the first classification process of Iron Mine Mill are introduced in the paper. Pulp particles fed in the centrifugal volute were arranged in advance, so that coarse particles can be far away from the overflow pipe, which can reduce the short circuit current to avoid coarse particles entering overflow and improve classification efficiency and accuracy of cyclone. The strong points of the new cyclone in the coarse classification operation are as follows: (1) finer overflow and less fine particles mixing in underflow improves classification efficiency more than 10%; (2) lower ball mill load cycle improves ball capacity more than 10%;(3) grinding energy consumption reduces by more than 20% and cyclone feed pump reduces energy consumption by more than 12%. In short, new type pre-classification cyclone with centrifugal volute solves the problems of fine particles mixing in underflow, high grinding cycle load and less classification efficiency in the coarse classification operation. Therefore, it has broad application prospects in ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal ore dressing plant.

"The hydrodynamics of the Tri-Flo™, a two stage cylindrical cyclone used in dense media separation, is studied using Computational Fluid Dynamics. The flow field is simulated with an Euler-Euler Volume of Fluid two-phase approach and the Reynolds stress turbulence model.A unique feature of the device is that the separation medium suspension is pumped and introduced tangentially into the two cylindrical compartments while the raw feed is conveyed to the feed hopper and fed at the axial inlet. This feature allows to use less pumping energy and limits the unavoidable production of fines. The Tri-Flo™ complex flow pattern is little known but central to the efficiency of the separation.The velocity field is computed within the two compartments of the separator. The interface of the air-core that forms in the inner axial part of the cylindrical sections is identified and visualized. The numerical results for a reduced-size 100 mm ID Tri-Flo™ are compared against laser Doppler measurements on a transparent acrylic model (Chinè, 1995) operated with water. The robustness of the model and its prediction capability are verified.The possibility to accurately predict the velocity profiles within the vessel and their dependence on the main Tri-Flo™ operating and geometrical variables paves the way to a better understanding of the functioning of the separator, its design improvements and scale-up."

The dynamic behaviors of the air bubbles in the dense gas-solid fluidized bed have a significant effect on the performance of dry coal separation. The combined method of experimental measurement and numerical simulation were conducted to conduct the research of the mean diameters and rising velocities of the bubbles in the fluidized bed. The calculation models of mean diameter and rising velocity of the single bubble were proposed. The results indicate that the models of the mean diameter raised by Rowe (1976) and the rising velocity raised in this work could be used to predict the bubble dynamic parameters in gas-solid fluidized bed. With the Geldart B type of magnetite powder as the medium solids and while the gas velocity of 1.5Umf=U=2.2Umf, the mean bubble diameter along the bed height is 36mm<Db<45mm, and the mean rising velocity of the single bubble is distributed in 40~65cm/s. The results of experimental measurement, numerical simulation and model predication provide well agreements finally. Based on the uniform fluctuations of air bubbles diameters and their rising velocities, the separation experiments of 50~6mm dry coal using the mixture of 0.3~0.15mm magnetite powder and <1mm fine coal as medium solids were carried out. The results show that the probable error, E is 0.06, which indicates a good separation performance by using the gas-solid fluidized bed. Mongolia has some of the world?s largest coal reserves with an estimated total coal reserve of over 150 billion tonnes. At present, over 90% of Mongolian electricity is produced by combined heat and thermal power stations. The main coal deposits used for Central power system&apos;s power stations are Baganuur, Shivee-ovoo lignite type coal and Shariin gol bituminous coal. In Mongolia almost 600,000 tonnes of coal combustion by-products are disposed of in waste ponds. In this research, we have thoroughly characterized Mongolian coal combustion by-products including fly ashes sourced directly from thermal power stations and ash retrieved from ponds. It was determined that fly ashes generated from Baganuur and Shivee-ovoo coal deposits are class C, while ash from Shariin gol coal is class F (according the ASTM C618). All ash products were characterized by chemical, mineralogical, granulometrical, porosity, FE-SEM and radiation methods. Fly ashes sourced directly from power stations were found to be more suitable for manufacture of geopolymers for building materials application and zeolite synthesis than ashes retrieved from ash ponds. The adsorption and porous properties of zeolitic compounds were measured and found to be suitable for adsorption of Cr6+ from simulated tannery waste water. Bench-scale electrokinetic experiments were performed to elucidate the electrokinetic remediation mechanisms of arsenate from artificially contaminated kaolinite. The electrokinetic experiments in which a constant voltage was applied demonstrated that high soil pH favored arsenate remediation with respect to both the remediation time and electricity consumption. It was also demonstrated that applying a pulse voltage (1 hour ON, 1 hour OFF) significantly improved the electricity consumption efficiency when the soil pH was maintained at the initial value during the experiments; this trend was not observed when the soil pH was gradually increased from the cathode side. These electrokinetic experimental results indicate that the remediation rate-limiting step varied with soil pH. When the soil pH was maintained at the initial value of 7.2 during the experiments, arsenate desorption was the remediation rate-limiting step rather than the migration of dissolved arsenate toward the anode. Conversely, when the cathode pH was not controlled and the soil pH was correspondingly increased gradually from the cathode side, the migration of hydroxyl and desorbed arsenate ions toward the anode played a more important role in the control of the overall remediation efficiency.

"In Russia, 1.1 million tons of mercury-containing waste are stored. The amount of mercury in soils and heaps of industrial enterprises is estimated at 3000 tons; in dumps, concentration tailings, sludge dumps of the gold mining industry up to 6000 tons have been accumulated. Mining is one of the main sources of mercury emissions in the natural environment that poses a real threat to the natural environment. At present, the process of amalgamation is prohibited and not applied in gold extraction. The application of amalgam technology in gold mining led to the accumulation of highly toxic products in the form of gold-bearing amalgam and metallic mercury, with a mercury content of dozens and even hundreds of times greater than the maximum permissible concentration for soil (1). Therefore, mercury-containing tailings constitute an ecological hazard to the environment. According to published data, at waste storage sites of industrial enterprises, up to 50 tons of mercury enter soil annually, and up to 3.5 tons pollute the air. At the same time, mercury-containing waste due to the reduction of the country's mineral resources is an additional source of mercury. Therefore, it is necessary to recycle mercury-containing waste. INTRODUCTION Paperobjective: demercurization of technogenic raw materials (amalgamation tails, discharge outlets of tailing dumps) to be recycled. Under natural conditions, the mercury usually migrates in the form of three most common compounds: elementary mercury (Hg); mercuric mercury ion (Hg+2); methylmercuryion (Hg (CH3) +. Chemical compounds Hg (II) are found in natural conditions much more often than Hg (I).The authors propose to conduct demercurization of technogenic raw materials (mercurial tailings) in two stages. At the first stage, the mercury in the form of small balls, the finest particles (drip mercury) can be extracted by applying the gravitational method. We propose a method for centrifugal processing of crushed waste in the apparatus of Itomak company, Novosibirsk, as the basis of the technological process for mercury recycling. The extraction of metallic mercury out of mercury-containing waste into commercial products, according to the technological characteristics of the Itomak apparatus, reaches 86.0% (2, 3). At the second stage, the extraction of mercury out of technogenic raw materials is performed applying a sorption method and using carbon sorbents based on fossil coals. Hard coal of the Kuznetsk Basin has been already used for industrial production of active carbons (carbon sorbents) of the KAD-iodine type, which is one of the prerequisites that determine the choice to use it for the aims of this study."

"The major ilmenite reserves are located in India at Chavara (CH), Manavalakurichi ( MK) and Chatrapur, Orissa (OR). India stands first in terms of ilmenite reserves, which are estimated to be 278 million tonnes out of which, 142 million tonnes are processable. Mineralo-chemical analysis shows that Chavara ilmenite is the most weathered one with about 60% TiO2 while Chatrapur is the least weathered with about 50% TiO2. Co-existence of ilmenite with pseudorutile, rutile and haematite is observed in substantially varying amounts in the three deposits. It is observed that the tropical weathering rather than the source rock difference has apparently played an important role in imparting major compositional and structural dissimilarities among ilmenites in different places.In processing of ilmenite through the Becher process, aeration rusting of pre-reduced ilmenite is found to be the rate limiting step thus, affecting the productivity of the process. Investigations have proved that the addition of some organic compounds such as glyoxal, sucrose etc., to the system accelerates the reaction to such an extent that the rusting time has been reduced to less than half.A new route of processing ilmenite for synthetic rutile has also been developed in which, ilmenite is carbothermally reduced and then processed through plasma route. The slag thus obtained is processed further to get high-grade synthetic rutile, metallic iron and high purity iron oxide. The process has been scaled up in a continuous moving bed plasma reactor. It is technologically and economically more viable where, all the iron values are recovered as salable byproducts. This paper describes the salient features of the technologies developed for the beneficiation of ilmenite to synthetic rutile."

In the last 4 years, the high price of silver attracted more interest for improving its extraction. Metallic silver and silver minerals require a high concentration of cyanide and show slow leaching rates and poor extraction. This investigation determined the effects of dissolved oxygen, lead nitrate and a pretreatment on silver leaching from slurry containing quartz mixed with metallic silver and high purity acanthite. Stephanite, pyrargyrite and polybasite were also used in the study. The silver minerals were characterized by chemical assay, X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), image analysis (MP-SEM-IPS) and electron microprobe analysis (EMPA). Increased dissolved oxygen of the slurry produced the fastest silver leaching kinetics. The leaching of silver from high purity acanthite was determined under various conditions and compared to a new process called ?CANMET Enhanced Leaching Process (CELP). For a slurry containing acanthite, a 23% improvement (from 76% to 99%) in silver extraction was obtained with the CELP. In presence of pyrargyrite and polybasite, silver extraction increased from 75% to 90% and 86% to 99% respectively using the CELP. No improvement was obtained for the slurry with stephanite (99% extraction in 72 hours). However, the sliver leaching rate was much faster with the CELP. XPS analysis of individual silver mineral particles showed that CELP leached surfaces were considerably more oxidized relative to the conventional cyanidation leached surfaces. Leaching of two gold/silver ores indicated that the efficiency of the CELP increased with the refractoriness of the sample. Gold extractions were comparable for the two technologies while silver extraction improved up to 5% (70g/t) for the CELP. The final leach solutions contained lower concentrations of copper, which consequently reduces the effluent treatment costs.

Due to not to being our own sources, some energy sources such as oil and natural gas which are used frequently, are not reliable energy sources for our country. Coal is an important energy source that Turkey also has a certain reserve as many countries have. To be able to use for many years the reserves of this source that comes from fossils, there is a great need to make more investigation and development activities on it. On behalf of using more productively the current sources, briquetting facility is represented that commenced production in The Aegean Lignite Establishment in 2005 which is in Manisa, Soma. This facility is a part of General Directorate of Turkish Coal. This facility is run by Soma Coal Establishment that works in return for royalty in a licensed field that belongs to TKI. As the demand of market for 0.5 mm dust coal diminishes, we had to accumulate and stock unmerchantable dust coal. Besides, we have intermixed 0.5- 1 mm powder coal and 0.1 ? 0.5 mm fine powder coal obtained as a result of washing in coal washer with thermic coal with low price as we could not find a client in the market. In this study, the production stages of briquette coal with high quality produced as a result of pressing by mixing 0.5- 1 mm powder coal and 0.1 ? 0.5 mm fine powder coal with molasse and lime, quality control, and data?s obtained about calories and solidity of products were presented. By briquetting of 0.5- 1 mm powder coal and 0.1 ? 0.5 mm fine powder coal washed in coal washer, it became possible to sell these coals on a high unit price and by providing the demand of coal of the market, we contributed to productivity of our firm. It is known that an addition of rigid particles into a fluid medium changes the flow field. Therefore, the rheological behavior of suspensions will be hardly Newtonian, such as their continuum phase. This phenomena was studied by Einstein in 1906 (Einstein, 1956) for the single case of spherical particles in a continuum liquid of a very dilute suspension. The final analysis applied for suspensions was derived from the evaluation of the behavior of ideal gases, finding a simple expression for the viscosity of the dispersion. All the following works about the hydrodynamics of suspensions at low and high solid contents was based in the Einstein´s model. For clay minerals suspensions where the physical and chemical properties of the particles are complex, it was found that the Einstein´s model is not a good approximation, even so for the most dilute dispersions. The present paper shows a new approximation that describes the non-Newtonian behavior of the suspensions of clays, and the attempt of understand how the different fine sizes, shapes and physico-chemical properties of clay particle surfaces give specific characteristics of plasticity, viscosity or visco elasticity to suspensions. "In order to improve recovery efficiency of iron minerals from iron ore tailings and to reduce its connected environmental pollution, this article investigated the reducing roasting of iron ore tailing in a laboratory fluidized magnetization roasting reactor to optimize the roasting method and conditions. The examined parameters included roasting temperature, roasting time and reducing atmosphere. The parameters evaluating magnetizing roast efficiency and theoretical value were determined. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was used to investigate the conversion of iron phase after roasting. The results show that the best magnetizing roast conditions are roasting temperature of 540?, holding time of 15min, and CO concentration of 20%. The magnetization conversion ratio of roasting products is over 80%, under the best magnetic separation condition, the concentrate grade of iron is 65.61 % and the recovery of iron is 83.77 %. The XRD analysis shows that Fe exists in hematite and siderite before roasting and exists in magnetite after roasting. The technique not only recovers the iron minerals from tailings with good economic benefit, but also reduces the environmental pollution of tailings accumulation.INTRODUCTION Iron ore tailings are the solid wastes generated during the beneficiation process of iron ore concentration and are one of the main pollution concerns in the mining industry (Das et al., 1996). Continuous development of the iron and steel industry has led to the increasing amount of iron ore tailings; there are over 300 million tons of iron ore tailings discharged per year (Rao et al., 2016). The huge amount of stockpiled iron ore tailings brings a series of environmental and social problems. Comprehensive utilization of iron ore tailings can not only reduce environmental load but also conserve resources, promoting sustainable development of the society. In recent years, iron ore tailings as secondary resources have received considerable attention in many countries in the word and numbers of studies on utilization of iron ore tailings were carried out, such as recycling the valuable minerals (Datta et al., 1996; Jia et al., 2013; Panda et al., 2018), used in construction material compositions as alternative source of raw materials (Das et al., 2012; Zhou et al., 2012; Luo et al., 2016) and other utilization. The iron minerals were recovery by magnetization roasting (Rao et al., 2016; Yang et al., 2013; Yang et al., 2011) and flotation (Kumar and Mandre, 2016). By comparison the reduction roasting has more advantages, but it was found that the conventional roasting equipment was inefficient, high energy consumption and un-economically applied on an industrial-scale."
