"The Center for Advanced Mineral and Metallurgical Processing (CAMP) has recently obtained a Mineral Liberation Analyzer (MLA). CAMP has utilized the technology for several projects with excellent results. The MLA is able to both analyze size and quantify mineral phases. Therefore, the MLA is becoming the Sherlock Holmes of the mining and metallurgical industry. For this presentation, four projects have been evaluated and data was collected using the MLA. The first project involved tungsten mine. Previous mining practices have yielded poor tungsten results and recoveries. By using the MLA, tungsten mineral phases, along with possible contaminants, were verified and the results used to try to increase overall tungsten recoveries. The second project evaluated a molybdenite/chalcopyrite concentrate with surprising results. The third project is a silver project. Initial flotation scoping tests were performed by attempting to separate silver from gangue material. Because of the poor recovery results (less than 5%), MLA was used to determine possible scenarios for increasing silver recovery. Finally, the last project involves gold evaluation in tailings. For all projects, MLA application results will be presentedand discussed.INTRODUCTIONThe Center for Advanced Mineral and Metallurgical Processing (CAMP) has recently received a software add-on to a scanning electron microscope (SEM) located at Montana Tech. The Mineral Liberation Analyzer (MLA) technology was developed by Dr. Ying Gu of the JKTech Center of the University of Queensland. Since August 2006, CAMP has received and processed over 50 samples. These samples include a total mineralogy of tungsten ore samples, gold tailings, lead zinc tailings pile, molybdenite concentrates, copper concentrates, as well as others. During analysis of these received samples, the technology allows the samples to be quantified mineralogically with some surprising results.For analysis, the samples were initially sieved between 170 to 200 screen sized mesh. This ensures that received samples mineral size is fairly uniform. The samples are then placed into epoxy and allowed to harden. Next, the samples are polished and carbon coated for MLA analysis."

"Chile based SQM S.A., exploits potassium chloride rich salts at the Salar de Atacama, in northern Chile. The process includes the solar evaporation of natural brines existing in the Salar salt bed, followed by conventional flotation to recover Muriate of Potash (MOP) for fertilizer use.This paper describes a structured method developed to aid in understanding the metallurgical response of the solar evaporated salts to conventional flotation. The method uses classical metallurgical data analysis combined with laboratory and plant-scale testing, and rudimentary mineralogical studies.As a result of the study, several changes were made to the flotation circuit which produced an operation that is much more consistent and easier to control, and has an increased recovery. An optimized circuit, currently being financially evaluated, has also been conceptually designed based on the findings of this work.INTRODUCTIONSQM S.A. is the world’s largest producer and distributor of specialty fertilizers, iodine, lithium, as well as a wide array of industrial and specialty chemicals. "The Johnny Mountain gold mine in northern British Columbia, owned by skyline Gold Corporation, has been in operation since August 1988. Mill operating difficulties at the start of the operation resulted in a depleted cash flow situation and quick improvements were required to generate a self-sustaining financial basis of operation. In October 1988, Melis Engineering Ltd. was contracted to identify metallurgical difficulties, implement necessary modifications, and undertake mill operations and personnel training in order to achieve production targets.This paper presents the operating difficulties which existed at start-up and describes the methodology used to overcome production problems. Metallurgical testing results are described along with the modifications made to the milling circuit to suit ore metallurgy. Plant changes led to the operation of a simple gravity/flotation circuit to recover gold as bullion and in a copper concentrate. Operation of the originally installed cyanidation circuit was discontinued. This contributed to substantial savings in operating costs and virtually eliminated environmental problems. PROPERRTY LOCATION ANR DESCRIPTIONThe Johnny Mountain mine site is located in northern British Columbia along the Iskuit River about 60 km east of Wrangell, Alaska and 275 km north of Terrace, B. C.. A location map is presented in Figure 1 and a site plan is shown in Figure 2. The complex is located on a mountain plateau about 3, 600 feet above sea level. The plateau is flanked to the north by Johnny Mountain and surrounded on the other sides by steep cliffs."

"A young private R & D organization, COREM celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2009. Managed by a consortium of nine mining and metallurgical companies, COREM has the mandate of increasing the competitiveness of its member companies through the development and transfer of mineral processing innovations. Typical technologies developed by COREM include alternative mineral processing techniques, novel operating strategies, innovative sensors and process simulation software. Many of them were developed in partnership with universities and selected research organizations.Because the COREM membership base is broad (from ferrous to base, to precious metal industries), its R & D program must deliver technologies with applications within a wide spectrum of mineral processes. Comminution, physical (gravity and magnetic) separation, flotation, cyanidation, pelletizing and thermal processes are the main topics of the R & D program. A number of new technologies have been developed and transferred to the plants of member companies. These examples of transferable technologies demonstrate the capability of COREM to impact the bottom-line of its member companies.INTRODUCTIONCOREM is a private mineral-processing R & D organization that operates from its own laboratories and pilot-plant with its own staff of professionals and technicians (about 95 persons). "This paper demonstrates the selection of grinding circuit technology for a number of recent projects including discussion of the key drivers and the role of energy efficiency. Decreasing head grades combined with a strong and sustained increase in operating costs has forced miners to examine increased project size, increased equipment capacity and efficiency improvements in order to reduce their unit operating costs and improve overall project economics. Comminution energy consumption, safety and capital cost considerations play a critical role in the success of projects. This paper presents some key guidelines for a successful and cost effective comminution circuit design and includes a case study on three projects, outlining the issues and the drivers which led to the ultimate circuit selection and the critical role that energy efficiency played.IntroductionComminution circuits for minerals processing are selected based on their suitability and efficiency in reducing run-of-mine ore to the desired feed size for the downstream process. The input material (ore) properties and downstream process requirements are the key determinants and there are standard approaches for each circumstance.The minerals processing industry has been a fast adaptor of efficiency improvements based on increasing capacity of equipment (e.g. trucks, crushers, mills, pumps) but less successful in adapting radically new technologies that disrupt incumbent flowsheets or processes.The installed power of grinding mills has increased linearly over the past 25 years (Meka & Lane, 2010) and pumps and classification equipment have kept pace. The autogenous grinding (AG) and semi- autogenous grinding (SAG) mills displaced stage crushing as a dominant method of coarse rock breakage in many applications causing crusher manufactures to increase the capacity of cone crushers to meet the competitive demand.Examples of new comminution technology in the 20th and 21st centuries are the development and adoption of cyclone classification in the 1940s (Newtech, 2016), AG milling in the late 1950s, vertical grinding mills in the 1980s, high pressure grinding rolls (HPGRs) also in the 1980s and ultrafine milling technology in the 1990s (Meka & Lane, 2010)."

"Sampling in the mineral processing industry has always been a subject which has received considerable discussion. There have been many volumes written on theory, techniques and practical application of sampling. However, until recently, the companies were not completely aware of the potential savings available with properly designed sampling systems both to assist in pieces: control and final product values.Definition In our discussion today, we will define sampling as the operation of removing a part, convenient in quantity for analysis, from a whole, which is of much greater hulk, and removing it in such a way that the proportion and distribution of the quality to be tested, i.e. size of particle, moisture content, specific gravity content, mineral and chemical composition, are the same in both the sample and the whole.Application It has been well established that undetected errors can result in large economic losses, thus most firms depend upon some type of sampling and sample analysis as a control in their continuous processing of materials. Despite the large investment in facilities and personnel the ""analysis"" of a sample can be no more accurate or reliable than the sample on which it is being based. The importance of sampling is recognized by a great many but it is appreciated by only a few, largely because it is sometimes one of the items which is taken for granted."

"Over recent years a number of techniques have been developed as part of the AMIRA1 P9 project to represent mathematically or measure directly sub-processes occurring in flotation cells. These include the determination of:•,?a machine parameter (bubble surface area flux, Sb);•,?a froth parameter (froth recovery, Rf );•,?entrainment and drainage parameters (???and d); and•,?an ore floatability parameter (Pi).These flotation parameters allow the plant engineer to develop a model of the flotation circuit that can be used as a powerful tool to diagnose the performance of that circuit. The recently developed JKSimFloat V6 flotation simulator uses these parameters to predict the flotation circuit performance that would arise from changes in operating conditions and circuit configuration.This new flotation technology was applied to the Placer Kanowna Belle Gold Mine in Western Australia. A series of plant surveys, cell characterisation measurements and laboratory batch tests were conducted to determine the flotation circuit model parameters to be used within the JKSimFloat V6 simulatorA thorough flotation circuit analysis was then performed at Kanowna Belle using JKSimFloat V6. The recommendations that were provided by this circuit analysis have resulted in large improvements in the flotation performance at Kanowna Belle. These include a 1.3% increase in flotation gold recovery and a substantial decrease in operating costs. The analysis is still ongoing, however, the benefits already obtained from applying this technology have resulted in a US$1.3 million a year improvement to the mine."

A study of the various components contributing to energy costs and their relationships to generally trended operating data, such as tonnage, operating costs, etc., over progressively shorter time periods provides information for an energy audit. A study of annual data gives some insight into the importance of various energy components. As the time frame of the study progresses through monthly, daily and, finally, into quarter hourly data, the variations become more evident and, most important, strategies develop to minimize energy costs. The results of an audit conducted during the summer of 1978 at Wesfrob Mines Limited are reported to illustrate this important phase, prerequisite to a meaningful energy cost avoidance program. The balance of the paper deals with the energy conservation program at Falconbridge Nickel Mines Limited's Sudbury operations, the metering and control equipment, the commitment, the new energy accounting practices and, lastly, the policies. Examples of successful energy conservation endeavours include automatic peak electrical load control, waste heat recovery from mine air and compressor cooling water, energy reductions resulting from lower building temperatures and curtailment of idling loads. The use of pulse meters to measure the flow of gas, steam, compressed air and electrical energy, with their signals interfaced to process computers, allows monthly, daily and, if necessary, immediate reporting of energy and energy per unit of production information The program so reported at Falconbridge's Sudbury Operations is credited with an annual cost avoidance of .9 million dollars in a 14.0-million-dollar annual energy account

"The operators of mineral processing plants collect daily samples from strategic process streams with a view to prepare production balances to assess plant performances. The rules to minimize the risk of systematic sampling errors are known and applied in many mineral processing plants. The mass of the sample to be collected is calculated to yield a target measurement reproducibility considering the fundamental error associated to the sampling of heterogeneous material. This paper demonstrates that this practice is partly valid if one does not account for the time variation of the ore composition during the day. The concept is demonstrated using samples collected on a 30 minute basis from different streams of a gold ore concentrator. Results show that depending of the natural variability of the stream characteristics the mass of the daily samples may not be the critical variable to obtain reproducible measurements. On the other hand the number of cuts taken during the day could impact on the variance of the measurements obtained from daily samples.IntroductionMineral processing plants may treat several thousand tons of ore every day to produce concentrate or impure gold ingots. The operation and performances of these plants are monitored on a daily basis through the collection of ore samples from various streams of the processing circuit. The samples are prepared and assayed to obtain the concentrations of target elements that are subsequently used to calculate the mass flowrates in the streams of the circuit and ultimately the distribution of the target metals for the estimation of the plant performances (Morrison, 2009; Lachance and Leroux, 2016).The acquisition of representative and reproducible samples is therefore the first step in the characterization of plant performances. The term representative sample is used here to indicate an unbiased sample, i.e. a sampling procedure that does not introduce a systematic error. Rules for the collection of unbiased samples are reviewed in the literature by different authors (e.g. Morrison, 2009) and are not discussed in this paper. The term reproducible indicates the dispersion of the measurements around the average value of a characteristic of a stream meets an acceptable level of variance. The reproducibility of a measurement process (sampling and analysis) is assessed by the relative standard deviation or coefficient of variation of the measurement that is a function of the sampling and assaying errors (Morrison. 2009; Gy, 1979). Usually the focus is put on the fundamental error of sampling whose variance can be controlled by the choice of the primary sample mass or adequate particle size reduction during the preparation of secondary or tertiary samples extracted for the chemical analysis. When a sample is taken from a stream that exhibits a time varying characteristic, the obtained measurement exhibits a variability that is not only a function of the sample mass but also of the natural variability of the ore in the sampled stream. This paper examines this aspect of the sampling of a time varying process on the reproducibility of composite samples for a day of production."

The Voisey’s Bay deposit contains a trace amount of cadmium, which reports to solution during pressure leaching of the nickel concentrate at Vale’s Long Harbour Hydrometallurgy Plant, and must be removed to produce high quality nickel cathode. In 2006, Vale approached Sherritt Technologies to collaborate on the development of a process for removing cadmium to low levels (<1 mg/L) in the nickel raffinate. Following successful bench scale and pilot plant testing at Sherritt’s laboratories, the cadmium removal process was then moved through engineering and construction, culminating in the successful commissioning and startup of a cadmium removal circuit at the Long Harbour Hydrometallurgy Plant in 2017. This paper presents the results of this collaboration and the challenges that were encountered through each stage of development, as well as current results from operation of the commercial cadmium removal circuit. INTRODUCTION Vale’s Long Harbour Processing Plant, with a nameplate capacity of 50,000 t/y nickel, began operation in 2014. In addition to electrolytic nickel rounds, the plant also produces electrolytic cobalt rounds and copper cathode. The Long Harbour Processing Plant uses a unique hydrometallurgical process developed by Vale Base Metals Technology Centre, as shown in Figure 1, to treat a nickel sulphide concentrate produced at the Voisey’s Bay mine and mill located in northern Labrador (VBN concentrate) (Stevens et al., 2009).

"In 1942, commercial mining operations began in what is now the Lucky Friday Ag/Pb/Zn mine in Idaho’s Silver Valley. Wholly owned since 1962 by Hecla Mining Company, the mine has produced more than 145 million ounces of silver and has been a mainstay producer in Idaho’s Silver Valley for over 70 years.However, by the early 21st century, the mill had fallen, technologically, seriously behind the rest of the industry. Accordingly, starting in 2005, the current mill management team set to revitalizing the milling operation. This paper will describe how the mill was systematically evaluated and the aging infrastructure replaced with more current technology. Driven by internal mill review studies supported by QEMSCAN mineralogical balancing, the mill has in recent years been through waves of upgrading – from the installation of new mechanical and column flotation equipment to the introduction of on-stream analysis, a technology well-accepted around most of the industry but alien to this technologically conservative mining district.The experience at Lucky Friday is a testament to the need for ongoing structured mill optimisation and technology upgrading in established mining operations. This paper will describe engineering experiences associated with upgrading equipment in an operating mill, contained in a confined building. Experiences in teaching the team new ways of operating a mill, and finally the metallurgical rewards that have been reaped will be described.INTRODUCTIONMining in Idaho’s Silver ValleyIdaho’s Silver Valley is a 64-km long valley flanked by the US Northern Rocky mountains, seldom more the 3-km wide, and stretching across much of Idaho’s northern panhandle, roughly 150 km south of the Canadian border. Mining has been continuously active in the area for more than 140 years, during which time, the Silver Valley has become one of the richest silver producing districts in the world, and as of 1985 had out-produced the 500 years of production from the famed Potosi district in Bolivia. Since 1885, almost 100 deposits have been discovered and worked in the district (Chapman, 2000)."

"Feed particle size is an important variable for the primary grinding mill operation. Several commercial vision systems have proven to successfully measure online many types of ores and are used for automatic control. However, due to limitations associated with segmentation algorithms, these systems fail to provide good measurements when the feed is composed of a specific bimodal particle size distribution: very big rocks and a large amount of fine particles. This is typically the case for crushed iron ore. This paper presents a technique to overcome the limitations of existing vision systems by using 3D cameras and appropriate processing methods. It provides online particle size distribution indicators and bulk volume flow rate measurement. It is designed to be very cost-effective, robust, precise, easy to install and to maintain. The 3D system was validated in two iron ore processing plants and the results clearly show that it can be used to optimize primary grinding mill operation where 2D segmentation vision systems fail.INTRODUCTIONFragmentation measurement using digital image processing has successfully been applied in mining and mineral processing operations. Several maintenance and operating applications are already deployed in the industry: Measurement of rock fragmentation after blasting (Maerz, 1999; Palangio, 1999) (Pragyan, 2012) Truck inventory (Palangio, 2005) Monitoring of crusher mantle wear Automatic control of crushers and SAG mills (Bouajila, 2000) (Bartolacci, 2001)Commercial technologies like WipFrag (Maerz, 1999), VisioRock and others proved to be very efficient to precisely measure the particle size distribution of many types of materials. These products are mainly composed of a camera, a lighting system and an image processing system based on a segmentation algorithm. By controlling adequately the lighting conditions and with periodic maintenance on the segmentation algorithm calibration parameters, it is almost always possible to achieve reliable measurements.However, the segmentation algorithm is not adequate when the particle size distribution contains big rocks and a large amount of fine particles. In this case, the area containing the fine particles is accounted as a big rock while big rocks get segmented as multiple smaller sized particles, leading globally to a wrong measurement. This situation prevails for crushed iron ore and coke, among other materials. Figure 1 shows a picture of a material which is typically very difficult to process through segmentation techniques."

Reliable estimation of in situ stress is a major step in the analysis and design of underground excavations in rock, particularly for evaluating the stability of underground structures to prevent failure or collapse. In the last ten years, the Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) has studied and developed an AE stress measurement technique using orientated core named the WASM AE method. It allows the determination of a representative and detailed knowledge of the in situ stress field during the early stages of a project (such as mine feasibility studies), even in areas where development access is not yet available. The method has been used for in situ stress measurement at more than 80 mine sites worldwide with over 200 individual stress measurements carried out to date. This paper describes the sample collection, sample testing and reconciliation of results for very deep measurements carried out at the Craig-Onaping mine complex in Sudbury Canada. The results constitute the deepest measurements undertaken to date at the WA School of Mines and indicate that the main principal stress is horizontal and oriented parallel to a common regional sub trend in a NE/SW direction.

"Anaconda Mining Inc. is investigating potential improvements and expansions to their operating plant located on the Baie Verte Peninsula in Newfoundland. An extensive batch and continuous bench scale testing program was launched to investigate the efficiency of cyanide destruction under different conditions in order to improve tailings handling. The primary objective of the cyanide destruction study was to apply new technologies to develop a novel cyanide destruction system.Effluent and slurry from Anaconda Mining Inc.’s Point Rousse Project was received at RPC where test work was conducted. Various sodium metabisulfite (MBS) dosages were evaluated and the use of utilizing ozone and ultra violet (UV) light to oxidize cyanide was investigated. All the data was evaluated and mass balances were compiled to develop several flowsheets. Overall encouraging results were found using a combination of ozone and MBS.IntroductionAnaconda Mining Inc.’s Point Rousse project includes an operating gold processing plant located on the Baie Verte Peninsula in Newfoundland which is in the process of improving and expanding. This plant comprises of milling and flotation followed by cyanide leaching in order to extract the gold. The residue from cyanide leaching is filtered by drum filters prior to being clarified for the Merrill-Crowe process. Once the gold has been recovered by the Merrill-Crowe process the effluent is filtered by filter presses and the resulting filtrate as well as the solids from the drum filters are detoxified prior to being pumped to the tailings pond along with the flotation tailings.The entire process is very dependent upon the efficient destruction of cyanide in the effluents and successful tailings handling. Substantial amounts of effluent are delivered to tailings ponds after gold extraction which could create environmental problems if the regulations are not met. Environmental regulations stipulate that final effluents contain no more than 1 mg/L Total CN.The detoxified tailings of the Point Rousse project are produced by the INCO SO2-Air circuit depicted in Figure 1. These detox tailings contain 10 mg/L Total CN at that point of the circuit and this was selected as the target to be matched while reducing overall MBS consumption rates from 3.2 g/L per minute. Prior to detoxification, the filter press tailings contain 520 mg/L Total CN while the drum tailings contain 29 mg/L Total CN."

"Pre-concentration in minerals processing presents clear advantages in energy efficiency, water efficiency, reduction of consumables and minimization of capital and operating costs. Outotec’s sorting solutions are powered by Tomra Sorting in order to achieve pre-concentration of concentrator feed in a variety of mineral processing applications. Sensor based sorting combines advanced sensors with rapid computational evaluation and mechanical separation of valuable material from waste and/or gangue. Modern sensor based sorting machines typically use fine air jets to propel individual rocks, thus optimizing recovery and minimizing “mis-sorting”.Gold is generally present in such low concentrations that sensors suitable for ore sorting cannot directly detect it. Therefore, in order to sort gold ore, properties of associated host rock are used. Free and sulphidic gold is often hosted on the quartz-host rock contact zone. Laser scattering effect can be used to detect the surfaces of quartz and composite quartz-host rock particles for subsequent sorting with very high recovery of 95 to 99%. In addition, ore often preferentially fractures along the quartz-host rock contact zone in the crushing circuit. This behavior helps because it liberates more quartz for detection.The feasibility of sorting is investigated for four gold projects in Northern Europe with similar mineralogy. This includes geometallurgical evaluation, amenability testing, small scale “mini-bulk” factory testing in full scale sensor based sorting. The results of the various tests are presented and basic feasibility demonstrated with information on flow sheet development. In addition, the amenability process is evaluated and recommendations made for future projects."

"Bubble area flux has been claimed to be a major tool to dimension flotation equipment. The paper describes laboratory scale (batch and 301 continuous cell using plant feed) and small-scale (1 ,8m3) industrial experiments with coarse-grained massive sulphide ore.Samples were taken with different froth thickness and air addition rates while the bubble size was measured with an UTC capillary device. Problems of averaging the bubble size measurements and the bubble area flux measurements are also discussed.Material balances were calculated using the commercial program BILCO. The flotation rate constants were calculated for pulp and for froth assuming that we can extrapolate the flotation rate constant of the pulp phase from tests using very thin froth thicknesses.The results indicate that the bubble area flux is not alone an adequate dimensioning tool. With fine sizes there was a nearly linear relationship between the bubble area flux and rate constant for constant impeller revolutions. For coarse sizes the form of the relationship is non-linear and seems to go through a maximum value. Thus the final flotation outcome is not a simple function of bubble area flux but depends on the particle size distribution and other more traditional flotation cell dimensioning variables. "Greenhouse gas emissions—specifically of carbon dioxide—are a concern in Canada, where industrial sectors such as mining are stringently regulated for carbon release. Cumulative emissions are positively related to fuel consumption, which is controlled by several factors. This study investigates one of these factors: the product of vehicle speed and running surface total resistance (TR; sum of rolling resistance and grade resistance). Results show that TR directly affects fuel consumption and emissions—a relationship that is mathematically predictable. Fuel consumption and emissions, which are principally associated with the durability or deterioration of wearing course materials, were analyzed to aid selection of road construction capping material of low rolling resistance. In the oil sands region in the province of Alberta, ground conditions change seasonally. Therefore, the annual fuel consumption for the same wearing course material was also compared. Cette étude examine l’un de ces facteurs, à savoir le produit de la vitesse du véhicule et de la résistance totale de la surface de roulement (la résistance totale, ou RT, est la somme de la résistance au roulement et de la résistance due aux rampes). Les résultats montrent que la RT affecte directement la consommation de carburant et les émissions, un lien qui est mathématiquement prévisible. La consommation de carburant et les émissions, qui sont principalement associées à la durabilité ou la détérioration des matériaux composant la couche d’usure, ont été analysées afin de contribuer à la sélection de matériau de recouvrement pour la construction de routes ayant une faible résistance au roulement. Pres-sure on world leaders to quickly reduce their carbon footprint is prevalent, prompting new standards and regulations in various industries, including mining and oil and gas. In 2017, the Government of Alberta implemented a carbon tax. The majority of mining activities in this province are truck-shovel operations, where a large fleet of ultra-class trucks is loaded by shovels. Ultra-class haul trucks, classified as those with a capacity of 218–363 tonnes (t), emit high levels of carbon as they travel to processing entry points and waste dumps as designated by the mine plan and mine dispatcher. "Granular activated carbon is widely used in the gold mining industry for gold extraction from aurocyanide-containing slurry. The extraction process can employ carbon as part of the gold recovery operation for various circuit designs including carbon-in-pulp (CIP), carbon-in-column (CIC), and carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuits. However, various qualities of activated carbon exist and the durability of the material can change significantly from source to source. Handling this expensive reagent can pose challenges when fine carbon losses occur in the CIP, CIC, and CIL circuits. Additionally, any gold that is adsorbed to these carbon fines can also be lost by various mechanisms including carbon attrition and fracturing, inefficient coarse-fine separation, and poor carbon fines capture. With the above in mind, a series of tests were conducted to investigate standardizing simple laboratory methods for testing carbon quality. A standard procedure beyond or enhancing ASTM methods can serve as additional starting points for evaluating carbon specific to the gold industry. The investigation focused on size distribution, flatness, wet attrition resistance, surface area, gold kinetics, and gold loading. The final results provided information to generate an equation for ranking carbon samples to plant performance.IntroductionActivated carbon for use in gold extraction is amongst the most commonly found processes in modern gold-milling plants.
