Managing sediment plumes under multiple jurisdictions Management of activities in the New Zealand EEZ can be characterized as a distributed basis of decision-making with each independent and separate decision-maker focused on specific elements of a proposal (environmental, work place safety, wildlife management, fisheries, navigation, oil spill). The New Zealand EEZ Act 2012 was intended as gap-filling legislation to address the lack of an environmental assessment lens for permissions to undertake certain activities in the New Zealand EEZ. These activities relate mostly to marine scientific research, dumping and discharges, oil and gas exploration and development, and seabed mining. The regulatory decision-maker for most EEZ Act marine consents is the New Zealand EPA. Since 2013 when this gap-filling legislation took effect, the EPA and its decision- making committees have processed three seabed mining applications. Two consents were refused, one consent was granted in 2017. A common feature of all consents has been the assessment and consideration of the scale, significance and effects of sediment plumes arising from the activity. One consent is for irons and mining in about 40m of water where the plumes reach the nearby coastal waters and shoreline, the second consent is far offshore but plumes extend far beyond the mining area (850 km2) in to rare coral habitats and in to a significant offshore fishery. A significant consideration for decision-makers is how the assessment and management of plumes under the EEZ Act interact with, and potentially overlap, management of such plumes under other legislation (Resource Management Act, Marine Mammals Protection Act, and Wildlife Act). This is in a statutory context where the EEZ Act requires explicit consideration of the nature and effect of other marine management regimes over the matter under consideration.

Nautilus Minerals, the world?s leader in exploration and development of deep ocean seafloor resources, is today focused on the recovery of high-grade copper and gold in seafloor massive-sulphide mineralization. These targeted mineralized belts, analogous to land-based volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits, are located near plate boundaries in the back arc basins of the Western Pacific. The first deposit to be developed by the company is located at a depth of 1,600 meters at Solwara 1, in the benign waters of the Bismarck Sea. This location lies within the territorial waters of Papua New Guinea. From 2006 to 2009 the company completed detailed environmental and geological studies at Solwara 1, culminating in a number of world firsts, including the first Environmental Permit granted for the extraction of seafloor massive sulphide deposits and the first NI 43-101 compliant seafloor massive sulphide deposit resource statement. Nautilus has relied heavily on proven deepwater technologies from the oil and gas industry in the design of its production system. Pipeline trenching units, workclass ROVs, deepwater production risers and drill cuttings removal systems will be adapted to initiate this new and exciting industry. Key contractors used by Nautilus on this innovative project have all been selected for their deepwater experience (gained in the oil and gas industry), creativity and determination to launch this new industry successfully. Innovation is at the forefront of Nautilus? success to date. This paper summarizes the progress to date of this development which will provide a new source of minerals for the world and which will contribute to sustainable growth for the future.

The first hydrothermal mineral deposits found at a seafloor spreading center were discovered in the Red Sea by multi-national research vessels between 1963 and 1965. At that time, the deposits were considered a special case related to continental rifting and an early stage of opening of an ocean basin. Since that time, examples of almost all major varieties of volcanic- and sediment-hosted hydrothermal deposits associated with basaltic rocks in the geologic record have been found at present spreading centers. Review of over 100 hydrothermal mineral occurrences presently known at oceanic ridges and rifts indicates that a range of deposit sizes from small to large (> 1 x 106 tonnes) occurs at all seafloor spreading rates. However, larger deposits but fewer per unit length of spreading axis appear to form at slow- than at intermediate- to fast-spreading centers based on available data. Larger deposits are more common in sediment-hosted than in volcanic-hosted settings regardless of spreading rate. A spectrum of hydrothermal deposit varieties (stratiform, stockwork and disseminated sulfides; various forms of sulfate, carbonate, silicate, oxide and hydroxide deposits) occurs in almost all of the tectonic settings. High-intensity, ore-forming, subseafloor, hydrothermal convection systems that conserve heat and mass and concentrate hydrothermal precipitates are extremely localized by anomalous physical and chemical conditions relative to nearly ubiquitous low-intensity hydrothermal activity at and flanking seafloor spreading axes at all spreading rates. The discovery of iron-manganese ores on the surface of underwater mountains was made more than a half century ago. During this time the basic ideas about the thermodynamics of the processes of hydrochemical reactions in the sea water have been developed by scientists and are revealed in geochemical and mineralogical differences between the deposits from the seamounts and the nodules of the sea bottom. The distribution of the dissolved metals, oxygen, carbonic acid and organic matter in the overlying ocean waters of seamounts in the deep ocean to depths more than 5,000 m has been studied in some detail (e.g. J.R. Hein, P. Halbach. G.B. Baturin, Ye.M., S.I. Andreev, L.I. Anikeyeva, [1-6]). In recent years scientists from YUZMORGEOLOGY have completed detailed geological survey work on the Magellan Seamounts in the Pacific Ocean. The results of drilling the ore body and geophysical and photo surveys have also been described [4]. Previous ideas about the general covering of seamount surfaces with iron-manganese crusts have been changed based on ground-truth surveys. This study examines the complex concentric-zone or spotty arrangement of the most densely covered sections, the strong dependence of the thickness of crust on the geomorphologic features, and the potential influence of the underlying substratum. One established geochemical heterogeneity in the composition of ores, also frequently inversely proportional power dependence on directions was observed. The development of a numerical model of the formation of the ore crust on the seamounts is currently a high priority.

The Logatchev hydrothermal field is situated on the east inner flank of the rift valley of the MAR at 14°45?N and is hosted by serpentinized peridotites and minor gabbronorites while basalts are subordinate. Hydrothermal precipitates recovered from the Logatchev field during a recent R/V Meteor cruise include massive chalcopyrite chimneys, massive pyrite crusts, silicified breccias, abundant secondary Cu-sulfides, red jaspers, abundant Fe-Mn-oxyhydroxides as well as atacamite and Mn-oxides (Kuhn et al., 2004). Previous results of hydrothermal fluid studies in the Logatchev field are somewhat at odds with theoretical models of ultramafic-seawater reaction. Butterfield et al. (2003) suggested that the Fe component of orthopyroxene plays the more important role compared to olivine in ultramafic-hosted hydrothermal systems. This consideration is supported by the recovery of large amounts of Opx-rich gabbronorites and orthopyroxenites in the Logatchev field (Kuhn et al., 2004). A possible tool to constrain the contribution of the different rock types (ultramafics, mafics, MORB) to a seafloor hydrothermal system is the systematic analysis of 187/188Os ratios of the host rocks as educts and the sulfides as products. For instance, abyssal peridotites mainly display low 187/188Os ratios (<0.127); in contrast MORB and gabbronorites have radiogenic ratios of >0.13 (Snow and Reisberg, 1995), orthopyroxenite has ratios of about 0.174 (Büchl et al., 2002) and seawater has an ever higher 187/188Os of about 1 (Sharma et al., 1997). Therefore, massive sulfides predominantly leached from ultramafic rocks should have Os isotopic ratios plotting on a mixing line between the ultramafic rocks and seawater (in a 187/188Os vs. 1/Os diagram), whereas those derived from MORB, gabbronorites and/or orthopyroxenites will be plotting on different mixing lines.

INTRODUCTION Work by Humphris et al., (2002); Ondréas et al., (2009); Barreyre et al., (2012); and Escartín et al., (2015) has identified active and inactive hydrothermal sites along the Lucky Strike segment. The sites that contain the largest accumulation of known sulfides are located between the north and the southern zones (Figure 1), a vent site area that is referred to as the Main Lucky Strike hydrothermal field (Escartín et al., 2015). Hydrothermal fluid outflow has been linked to a shallow fault network (Barreyre et al., 2012). However, specific constraints on fault geometries have not been determined. Other off-axis sites at Lucky Strike, such as Capelinhos (high temperature vent), and Grunnus (inactive?), as well as a low temperature vent field (on-axis), Ewan, have been described by (Escartín et al., 2015). Given the spatial relationship between the Main Lucky Strike hydrothermal field (MLSHF), and the intersection of northern rift faults with the southern rift faults, a structural analysis of this area can provide insight into the fault controls on fluid flow that leads to hydrothermal venting and sulfide precipitation. METHODOLOGY Structural data (dip direction and dip) was determined using Leapfrog Geo 4.0 software. Bathymetric data was obtained from Escartín et al., (2015) and references therein. The bathymetry was imported into Leapfrog Geo (in UTM format) and, using the structural modelling tool, individual measurements with dip direction and dip data were collected with a focus on the northern volcanic rift and the southern central volcano (Figure 2a). All measurements were taken from what the authors consider as normal faults, and to aid the determination of individual measurements a “face dip” map was constructed, where the bathymetry is colored by slope angle (Figure 2b). All measurements are simultaneously plotted on a stereonet generated by the Leapfrog Geo Software. Data were divided into northern and southern, and western and eastern zones to determine the relationship between hydrothermal venting and the structural geometries at Lucky Strike (Figure 2c). Slip measurements for individual faults were determined along the dip of the fault with a measuring tool. Net slip, heave (horizontal displacement), and throw (vertical displacement) was calculated for each of the zones.

The Chatham Rise is a submarine topographic feature lying off the east coast of New Zealand between the South Island and the Chatham Islands and within New Zealand?s jurisdiction. The Chatham Rise hosts economically significant deposits of rock phosphate and other potentially valuable minerals. The deposits comprise nodules lying on, or just below the surface of the seabed in shallow waters. Rock phosphate is an essential ingredient of fertilizer and can be applied directly to pasture. There is a realistic opportunity the phosphate deposits could supply New Zealand?s agricultural requirements for an estimated 30-year period at current rates of consumption.

In the diaphragm wall market, we have experiences both in manufacturing and executing projects all over the world since 1984. We have a population of more than 300 units working all over the world in all climate and soil conditions. Especially for hard soil and rock conditions, we have developed several cutting tools and systems to optimize the performance, e. g. the “flipper tooth” Besides the execution of land based foundation projects, we have performed our firs offshore project with the trench cutter in 1994. Our task was to take samples out of the alluvial soil off the coast of Namibia in a water depth of max. 200 m. We converted a drill vessel and launched the cutter thru the moon pool. The samples had a cross section of 3,40 m² and a max. depth of 5 m. They were used to estimate the content of diamonds. The first time, we reached the seabed of the deep sea was together with our seafloor exploration rig MeBo, where we can take cores up to a length of 160 m in a maximum water depth of 4000 m. With our customer MARUM, we have done several expeditions since 2005. The last expedition took place in the Black Sea to explore gas hydrates.

The marine diamond industry off south-western Africa is maturing rapidly. Some of the larger explorers have reached an advanced stage in their resource development and new mining operations have been started in the last year. Most of the major exploration, mining and marine engineering companies have offices in Cape Town. As a result of the increased activity and experiences to date, new approaches to marine diamond exploration and mining are now evolving. Primary factors contributing the new approaches are namely 1) the concentration of expertise in a localised area 2) the significant increase in the base of available exploration and production results and 3) parallel advances in the marine engineering design and geophysical survey equipment. The sea floor geology and setting of the marine diamond exploration areas is now better understood. Consequently the strategy for exploration and the selection of appropriate survey equipment is improved. Due to new equipment developments, different exploration alternatives now exist, depending on the programme objectives. Significant advances have also been made in the data processing and modelling undertaken to assist in the identification and targeting of potentially diamondiferous prospecting features. Similarly, the design of appropriate prospecting tools and programmes has also been improved. Following exposure to the requirements of the marine diamond industry, the design engineering and operating companies have responded with innovative designs for new prospecting tools. In recent years the availability of relevant information on marine diamond prospecting and production has increased. As a result, there is now sufficient basis for the construction of meaningful financial valuation models that can be effectively used to control and guide the exploration projects, to the benefit of both the explorer and the investor.

Brothers volcano (34°51.7?S, 179°03.6?E) is a large caldera volcano that forms part of the active Kermadec arc south of 32° S, NE of New Zealand. It is an elongate edifice striking NW-SE that is ~11-13 km long by 7-8 km across. The caldera has a basal diameter of 3-3.5 km and is surrounded by 350-450 m high walls with the floor 1,850 m deep. A volcanic cone of dacite composition rises 350 m from the caldera floor and partially coalesces with the southern caldera wall. Much of the caldera construction and the location of the hydrothermal vent sites are controlled by intersecting basement structures. Three hydrothermal sites have been recognized at Brothers; NW caldera, SE caldera and cone. Multiple hydrothermal plumes were mapped from the bottom of the caldera upwards to a depth of 900 m and originate from two of the sites; one on the NW caldera wall the other atop the cone. Analyses of these plumes show that the two vent sites are chemically distinct. The cone site itself hosts three distinct vent fields (summit, upper flank, NE flank) that in 1999 had plumes (mainly from the summit) containing relatively high concentrations of gas with a shift of -0.27 pH units (proxy for CO2) and H2S concentrations up to 4,250 nM, particulate Cu (PCu) of 3.4 nM, total dissolvable Fe (TDFe) of 4,720 nM, TDMn up to 260 nM and Fe/Mn values between 4.4 and 18.2. However, in 2002 plumes from the summit vent field had noticeably lower concentrations of PCu (0.3 nM), TDFe (175 nM), and Fe/Mn values of 0.8, although similar TDMn (220 nM) and shift in pH (-0.22) suggesting a state of flux for this site. By contrast, plumes originating from the NW caldera site have much less gas with a pH shift of -0.09 units and no detectable H2S, TDFe up to 955 nM, TDMn up to 150 nM, and Fe/Mn values of 6.4, and have not changed their composition over the same three year interval indicating a more chronic hydrothermal system. Plume d3He results show helium is decoupled from more near-surface vent fluid sources although a shift in R/Ra values from 6.1 ± 0.5 in 1999 for the combined vent sites to 7.2 ± 0.1 in 2002 indicates a less radiogenic input of helium over three years, suggestive of a greater magmatic input to the system.

Accumulation of cobalt -rich ferromanganese crusts on Pacific seamounts located off-ridge in the Hawaiian EEZ, represents a complex process that involves geologic aging of the seamounts, geographic transportation- of the seamounts on the Pacific plate during the past 80 million years, and geochemical history of the oceans for that period. A comparative study of the building and erosion processes of the young Loihi Submarine Volcano, located south of the Island of Hawaii , and the 80 million year old Cross Seamount, located west of Hawaii , shows that both edifices show wide armchair-shaped talus chutes and intervening ridges of exposed dikes. The similarity between the observed mass wasting process on Loihi and Cross suggests that the slopes of submarine volcanoes are geologically unstable from the time of their origin on the seafloor through their entire geological history. The slopes of Cross are covered by coalesced ferromanganese crust covered talus, steep exposed dike faces, and crust covered dike ridges. A study of the stratigraphy of the crusts shows a range of thicknesses and number of unconformities present. The thickest crusts, up to 8 centimeters, are found preserved within the larger coalesced slabs along the shallower slopes of the talus chutes and along the crests of the ridges between water depths of 400 and 1800 meters. The platinum content was used in stratigraphic correlation between the crusts in the coalesced slabs and those collected from ridges with the PISCES V submersible. The development of marine mining in the offshore areas adjacent to most of the insular and continental European States is limited by the complex and evolving nature of its legal regime on the basis of the relevant applicable international, European and domestic rules. As the development of marine mining requires investments in capital-intensive technologies, the bankable feasibility of marine mining projects is very much dependent on the legal security of mining rights, assets and operations in offshore areas. This is quite difficult to assess due to the constant accumulation of applicable and potentially conflicting international and domestic laws in these areas, in particular the coastal zone, the territorial sea, and the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The often conflicting interaction of international treaties, laws and regulations in offshore areas raises specific and major issues in terms of permitting processes, access rights, ownership rights over the mineral resources explored and mined, flag vs. coastal State jurisdiction over mining vessels and marine mining equipment, international environmental liabilities, and unitisation and multi-forum disputes. In addition, the determination of jurisdiction and the legal regime under which marine mining could take place is becoming even more complex with the development of EU Law and the recent revision of the International Law of the Sea, particularly the new extension regime of the EEZ and jurisdiction over the continental shelf.

"Lifting riser in deep-seabed mining (DSM) is exposed to acute and chronic stresses of materials, whose yield will result in the most critical loss of total mining system. For freehanging riser (FHR), the axial vibration and local bending of riser may produce acute stresses, in the meanwhile, vortex-induced vibration (VIV) in relative current, friction and collisions of solid particles with inner-wall, and material corrosion in seawater are representative causes of chronic stresses. The chronical stresses bring about fatigue failure or abrupt failure by material loss. Hydraulic lifting is effective and promising for transportation of minerals, however, ecofriendly treatment of operating seawater is an unease hurdle to come over. Sizing of riser section confronts multi-directional problems, i.e. safety of slurry transportation (flow assurance), material safety of riser (wall thickness), seawater treatment on board, etc.A free-standing riser (FSR) might exclude a part of design problems of free-hanging riser and give a way to sustainable mining. FSR stands vertically by means of sub-buoyancy part(s). The top of FSR emerges above sea surface and is connected with mining platform through jumper line (supported by external yoke). Total amount of sub-buoyancy and location(s) have to be carefully determined in viewpoints of dynamics of FSI (fluidstructure interaction) in waves and currents. The concept of FSR gives more freedom for design of multi-functional riser system in view of sustainability of DSM. In DSM, sustainability concept may be focused on eco-friendly treatment of seawater and sediment, and safety of total mining system. For feasibility of FSR, however, installation, maintenance and repair need to be investigated thoroughly in collaboration with industry experts"

Papua New Guinea has permitted its first underwater mine. Nautilus Minerals (PNG) Limited is the company permitted to operate the Solwara 1 project. The project is located 30km off the nearest island of New Ireland in the Bismarck Sea. The successful permitting of the activity was due to the existence of a broad legislative framework and the collaborative efforts of stakeholders. Challenges faced included the lack of specific guidelines or policies for underwater mining; lack of existing technology and/or mining method; lack of benefit sharing mechanism for such a project and management of the perceptions of local communities that fear environmental degradation by the mining project. This presentation shares the experience of Papua New Guinea?s first under water mine. A background of the country, the project and the legislative framework are presented. Followed by the challenges and approach taken to permit the project.

Hydrothermal sulfides were recovered from the16°50?S triple junction area in the North Fiji Basin, at a water depth of ca. 1900 m. The chimney samples can be divided into three groups according to their major metal contents: 1) type 1 (Fe-Cu-rich), 2) type 2 (Fe-Cu-rich with minor Zn), and 3) type 3 (Zn-rich) chimneys. Type 1 chimneys are mainly composed of chalcopyrite and pyrite, and are enriched in elements commonly precipitated under high temperature conditions (> 300°C), such as Cu, Co, Mo, and Se. Type 3 chimneys consist dominantly of sphalerite and marcasite with traces of pyrite and chalcopyrite, and are enriched in elements commonly associated with low temperature (150 to 250°C), such as Zn, Cd, Pb, As, and Ga. Type 2 chimneys show mineralogy similar to that of type 1 chimneys but their metal contents range between type 1 and type 3 samples. Trace element compositions of basaltic rocks indicate that magma generation in the triple junction area was influenced by two different sources: N-MORB and E-MORB. Sulfur and lead isotope patterns of the hydrothermal chimneys show distinct differences between the type 1 and type 3 chimneys. For example, type 1 sulfides are depleted in 34S and have lower Pb isotope ratios compared to type 2 and 3 chimneys. The d34S values (0.4 to 5.6?) of chimney sulfides are typical range of sulfur isotope composition of sediment free mid-ocean ridge hydrothermal system. Type 2 and 3 sulfides show slightly higher d34S values than type 1 sulfides, which can be explained by subsurface boiling of hydrothermal fluids followed by mixing of saline solutions with ambient seawater. Lead isotope compositions of the chimneys indicate that the Pb in type 1 and type 3 chimneys originates from hydrothermal leaching of N-MORB and E-MORB volcanic rocks, respectively. Considering that both these chimneys are located in the same area, our model suggests that type 1 chimneys formed by hydrothermal circulation controlled by an intrusion of N-MORB magma; the fluids were not influenced by boiling during the formation of type 1 chimneys. In contrast, type 3 chimneys are younger and were formed by hydrothermal circulation closely related to E-MORB magma intrusion at shallower depth. The necessary conditions for phase separation of the hydrothermal fluids that formed the type 3 chimneys might result from changed P-T conditions in a shallower high-temperature reaction zone beneath the hydrothermal venting site. Under these conditions the fluid may cross the two-phase boundary for seawater, ensuring subcritical phase separation. The mineralogical and geochemical properties of these chimneys suggest that type 1 and type 3 chimneys were probably black smoker and white smoker, respectively. Type 2 chimneys might be product of low-temperature replacement of type 1 chimneys, which is related to formation of type 3 chimneys.

Deep-sea mining is rapidly approaching the test-mining phase to prepare for commercial mining in multiple oceans, both in areas within and beyond national jurisdiction. The first test-mining operations are likely to focus on seafloor massive sulfides found at active and inactive hydrothermal vents within national jurisdictions – possibly in the coming months. Beyond national jurisdictions, the International Seabed Authority (ISA) is developing the regulations to oversee exploitation of polymetallic nodules, massive sulfides and cobalt crusts. The Deep Ocean Stewardship Initiative (DOSI) minerals working group has, over the last 3 years, made formal submissions on the regulatory framework, on the draft exploitation regulations, on the article 154 review of ISA and on the initial environmental regulations. In advance of both test and commercial mining, we urgently need to identify and develop comprehensive, ecosystem-based management practices for deep-ocean environments subject to mineral extraction. Transparent criteria for deep-sea institutional and corporate social responsibility also need to be established. Proactive development of management practices, frameworks and policy prior to the onset of mining will facilitate some degree of protection and preservation of the marine environment, whilst enabling the use of seabed mineral resources. The DOSI minerals working group constitutes a broad spectrum of scientific, industry, legal and policy expertise. We provide expert opinion, both in collated and individual response forms, on deep-sea mining related concerns to ISA and national bodies. Within 2006 BGR will conclude a contract with the UN International Seabed Authority (ISA) for the exploration of polymetallic nodules. The contract covers an area in the Pacific nodule belt between the Clarion and Clipperton fracture zones, that which is about 75.000 km2 in size at water depths between 4200 and 5000 m (see Fig. 1). Up to now, 7 consortia or state parties have acquired similar exploration “licenses” for polymetallic nodules in the central Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. These licenses of the UN authority are required according to the UN convention on the law of the sea (UNCLOS) as the areas of interest are located outside of national EEZs. The “licenses” then reserve exclusive rights to the applicant for a time span of about 15 years.

The topic area for this paper covers the United States portion of the northern Gulf of Mexico, extending from the Rio Grande delta east to the Florida peninsula. Declaration of an Exclusive Economic Zone in 1983 expanded Federal economic jurisdiction on the continental margins from 12 to 200 nautical miles seaward from the coast. The nation-wide area of the EEZ totals 3 million square nautical miles, with approximately 186 thousand square nautical miles in the Gulf of Mexico. In the Gulf, the continental shelf has an area of 81 thousand square nautical miles, extending to a depth of 600 ft. and having widths of 6 to 120 nautical miles. Specific areas on the shelf offer the greatest potential for containing aggregate and other hard mineral resources. The primary geomorphic features along the Gulf coast include: barrier islands, chenier plains, tidal inlets, bays and lagoons, estuaries, and deltaic headlands. These features are composed of terrigenous siliclastic sediments, except for the west Florida coast, south of 29°N latitude, which is dominated by carbonate sediments. On the shelf, the primary features are linear sand shoals and associated sand sheets, relict delta lobes and channels, and banks related to salt diapirs and coral reefs. The composition and distribution of sediments in these coastal and shelf features are determined by numerous geologic factors including: seabed topography; riverine sediment discharge; sediment dispersal patterns due to currents, waves, storms and tides; tectonics and subsidence; and repeated fluctuations in sea level.

KIOST has developed the pilot mining robot, named MineRo ?? from early-2011 to mid- 2012. The robot consists of two unit-modules having an identical mechanical structure and hydraulic system. One unit-module has two track systems, two pick-up devices, two crushers, one lifting pump and one thruster. The pick-up device is fitted on the frame of the track device. All actuators are driven hydraulically, which are manipulated by valves and the controllers. Each unit-module is equipped with one dual HPU of 250kW / 4,000V. PWM-16 (INNOVA AS) as hydraulic valve controller is adopted, which outputs PWM signals of 16 channels and can be used under pressure in oil-filled box. To measure angular velocity or displacement of hydraulic actuator, turbine-type flow-meters are adopted. The flow-meter has RF (Radio Frequency) type pulse detector, which extends the flow range by eliminating drag on the rotor. Two track motors, two crusher motors, lifting pump, one thruster can be controlled their velocities through feedback of the measured flow-rates. As well as the flow-rates, the states of the hydraulic system such as hydraulic pressures, temperatures, leakages are measured through a self-developed flow-pressure canister. In that canister, multi-channel amplifier boards are installed, through which the vast amount of data is acquired and transmitted to the main controller using serial communication.
