The legacy of orphaned/abandoned mines, with their associated environmental liability, human health concerns and the financial costs of clean up is a serious issue facing Canada. In 1999 and 2000, a number of stakeholders put forth requests to Mines Ministers to establish a joint industry-government working group, assisted by other stakeholders to review the issue of abandoned mines. The Ministers supported this initiative and asked that a multi-stakeholder workshop be organized to identify key issues and priorities. The Workshop on Abandoned Mines, held June 2001 in Winnipeg, developed consensus, guiding principles and recommendations that were presented at the Mines Ministers? Conference, September 2001. Ministers agreed on the importance of a large-scale program for the rehabilitation of orphaned/abandoned mines sites. A multi-stakeholder Orphaned/Abandoned (O/A) Mines Advisory Committee was formed and a plan was developed to study various issues relating to the implementation of remediation programs across Canada. Three task groups were formed to address the following key areas: Information Gathering; Community Involvement; and Barriers to Collaboration. The presentation will include a summary of the results of the three projects and the future work plan for the program.

"IN THE BOOK that has been rated the best seller of all time, it is predicted that man will earn his livelihood by the sweat of his brow. Apparently man has accepted the statement as a challenge and has been attempting to refute it ever since, as he continues to transfer the workload to his inanimate servants - the many types of machines and other labour-saving devices that are available to assist or perform for him in the normal tasks of the day. The history of the evolution of the use of energy takes us back to primitive man, who existed in a very low energy environment, the only energy available being his own muscle power. Although man took a great leap forward when he discovered fire, which was used for lighting, heating and cooking, he still depended upon his own muscles for power. Early man's greatest achievement was probably the invention of the wheel, which permitted him to utilize the muscle power of animals. While still in a very primitive state when viewed from the perspective of the twentieth century, man, with fire and the wheel, had achieved a standard of life far exceeding that of his predecessors. Looking beyond the very basic elements of human energy, fire and the muscle power of animals, we find the next additions of energy coming from man's mastery of other elements of nature. The Phoenicians utilized the power of the wind and the Romans adapted the energy of falling water to the water wheel."

Summary Statement The following notes on the geology of the Grand Lake coalfield are intended to be introductory to a second paper being read at this meeting, which paper will describe the earlier and the more modern mining methods. The coal industry of the Grand Lake coalfield is centred chiefly within a three-mile radius of Minto, but minor operations are dotted over an area of approximately 50 square miles extending easterly to the vicinity of Chipman and Coal Creek (see Figure 1). The coal comes from one seam of Pennsylvanian age. The seam varies in thickness from 16 to 30 inches and lies almost horizontal at depths of 0 to 125 feet. It has been mined and prospected over an area of approximately 150 square miles, but in a portion of this area the commercial possibilities have been destroyed by erosion. The industry is the oldest of its kind in North America, but it did not at tract particular publicity until about 1914. Since that date, mining methods have improved and the output has rapidly increased until, in 1934, it amounted to 271,335 long tons, and furnished employment for about 1,000 men (1). Approximately 73 percent of this amount was produced by the Minto Coal Company, the Miramichi Lumber Company, the Avon Coal Company, and Welton and Henderson, and 25 per cent by the Rothwell Coal Company, Harvey Welton Limited, G. H. King, the Reade Construction Company, and the Newcastle Coal Company. The remainder was produced by J. W. Carter, G. D. Crossman, T. H. Swift, C. S. Yeamans, and several other small operators. The coal is won by underground mining, except in the case of the Reade Construction Company, and a minor operation by Ashfield and Pieton, who have employed open stripping. It is mined only as required to fill definite orders, and is loaded directly into cars for shipment. In 1934, the larger mines did not operate full time, and the production could easily have been increased if markets had been available. The coal is sold in four grades: screened or lump, run of mine, slack, and stripping. The chief market is with the railways and commercial plants, with a fair amount for domestic purposes.

"There is a very small fraction of wireless experts in the world with experience in underground installations and an even smaller fraction that have experience specific to building mine shafts. This is why in 2009, Redpath created its own system to meet the demands specific to shaft construction. Today, after a dozen shaft installations and several design iterations, Redpath has the expertise and experience required to implement a proper wireless system in any shaft configuration.This document will explain multiple proven wireless communication designs optimized for shaft construction and suitable for permanent use. This includes line of sight installations up to 1200m, short range mesh networks, and the latest patent pending Integrated Leaky Feeder Mesh Network. Additionally, this document will explore the lessons that Redpath learned in its effort to interconnect the people and tools needed to build a mine shaft.INTRODUCTIONAfter a decade of research, several design iterations and a dozen application examples, Redpath has resolved two wireless network architectures to best serve mine shaft construction projects.The long range line-of-sight (LOS) wireless network is the most cost effective and easiest to install, but requires an unobstructed line of sight between the working area and the shaft collar. As such, long range LOS is best suited for ventilation shafts or during the first phase of shaft sinking, before the shaft is equipped.Alternatively, a mesh network uses radios installed at pre-determined intervals in the shaft and on each conveyance. A wireless mesh uses antennas to bridge intervals between shaft radios, whereas Redpath’s integrated leaky feeder mesh network (patent pending) bridges these intervals with radiating cable, commonly referred to as a “leaky feeder” cable. Both of these mesh configurations can provide continuous reception for hoist conveyances travelling in shafts without line-of-sight, making them ideal for shaft equipping and even permanent installations in both mine shafts and lateral drifts.BACKGROUNDHoist operators receive operating commands using what are commonly referred to as “bell signals.” These instructions are delivered in a series of coded pulses on a spring returned pull cord or push button that is typically hardwired back to the hoist operator’s control room from one of many locations in the mine shaft. During the construction phase of a traditional mine shaft, a worker riding inside the sinking bucket would have to reach out to a pull cord installed on the shaft wall to send a stop command to the hoist operator. Today, Redpath’s modern shaft sinking projects use fully enclosed personnel carriers to protect the workers riding inside, specifically preventing workers from reaching out into the shaft while the hoist is in motion. The enforcement of this safety feature on all shaft projects in 2008 forced the engineering group at Redpath to find a suitable wireless solution for hoist communication to facilitate shaft construction.THE IDEAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR MINE SHAFT CONSTRUCTIONIdeally, the shaft communication system should not transform the tools to which the miners have grown accustomed. It should support the push-to-talk functionality of traditional VHF handsets and the standard belling system that has been used for decades. Additionally, it should be able to support a vendor independent framework upon which new devices and features can be added. The following paragraphs summarize some of the important requirements Redpath has identified.Support for voice transmission: Low latency is critical to prevent jitter during voice transmissions. Controlled thermolysis of gold(I) complex, [Au(C13H27COO)(PPh3)], at 180 °C for 5 h under an N2 atmosphere affords the new type of monodispersed spherical gold nanoparticles capped by myristate and a small amount of PPh3 ligands (average diameter 23±1.5 nm), in spite of no use of solvent, reducing agent and stabilizer. Much attention has been paid to the preparation and structure determination of transition metal nanoparticles, because of their widespread use in technological applications.1 In general, the chemical reduction of metal salts and organometallic complexes2 by the use of reducing agent is carried out to prepare gold nanoparticles. In some cases, a large amount of solvent and stabilizers such as surfactants,3 polymers4 and ligands5 are used to prevent agglomeration of particles and control the particle size. For instance, Brust et al. reported a two-phase reduction of AuCl4 - by NaBH4 in the presence of dodecanethiol as stabilizer to prepare gold nanoparticles.6 On the other hand, O?Brien et al. recently reported an one-phase preparation of gold nanoparticles by the reduction of AuCl4 - by NaBH4 in the mixture of tri-n-octylphosphine oxide and octadecylamine which act as both solvent and stabilizer, but this procedure also needs reducing agent.7

"We present some of our recent efforts in the development of predictive, directed oxidation chemistry of cerium(III) complexes under non-aqueous conditions. The electrochemistry of cerium(III)- alkali metal heterobimetallic aryloxide complexes is reported and compared with cerium aryloxide complexes that are kinetically stabilized by hydrogen bonding cations that span between the complexed aryloxide ligands. Comparative electrochemical measurements reveal differences between the heterobimetallic complexes and the hydrogen-bonded complexes.INTRODUCTIONThe rare earth elements comprise the lanthanides, La–Lu, and the element yttrium (Aspinall, 2001). Rare earth ores such as monazite, LnPO4, and bastnäsite, LnFCO3, typically bear mixtures of light rare earths: La–Sm while monazite, LnPO4, contains mixtures of heavy rare earths (Eu–Lu) (Cotton, 2006). Pure rare earth elements typically are isolated using a liquid-liquid separations process.(Bautista, 1995) The hydrometallurgy of these elements is a difficult problem because the separation factors between neighboring rare earths, which are predicated on the small differences in the sizes of the trivalent ions, are quite small (Cox, 1992). The element cerium, with its 4f1 electronic configuration in the trivalent state, is unique among the rare earth elements due to a relatively accessible 4f0 electronic configuration. The accessibility of the 4f0 configuration underlies the chemistry of cerium(IV), the only rare earth ion with molecular chemistry in the tetravalent oxidation state (Cotton, 2006). Cerium is trivially separated from mixtures of light rare earths by making use of its unique oxidation chemistry. In an effort to extend separations chemistry by oxidation reactions to other rare earth elements such as terbium and praseodymium, the solution electrochemistry of well-defined cerium complexes is of interest."

"Uranium and thorium mineralization occurs at several localities in eastern Quebec along the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The main occurrences are near Sept-Iles, Baie Johan Beetz, Romaine and St-Augustin river. Mineralization occurs mainly as disseminated uraninite, uranothorite, uranothorianite, monazite and minor zircon and allanite. Yellow to orange oxidation products are observed along fracture planes of the uranium-bearing deposits to a depth of a few feet. Magnetite, biotite and smoky quartz have a distinct tendency to accompany the radioactive minerals. The host rocks include white to pink pegmatite, pink granite and also, in the case of the Romaine and St-Augustin River occurrences, cream to grey plagioclase-rich, well foliated paragneiss and migmatite. Radioactivity near secondary structures, such as fractures and joint planes, indicates some reconstitution of radioactive minerals.The North Shore of Quebec is the northeast extension of the Grenville sub-province. It is also a uranium-thorium metallogenic province."

Abstract - Mineral exploration and research has led to the identification of four types of tungsten mineralization in the NE-trending, largely ensialic, inland branch of the late Proterozoic/early Paleozoic Pan-African Damara Orogen. The mineralization (mainly scheelite) occurs in a terrane (the Central Zone) that is characterized by multiple deformation, greenschist/amphibolite-facies metamorphism and numerous peraluminous S-type granitic and pegmatitic intrusions. The four major types of scheelite mineralization are (in ascending stratigraphie order of host rock): (1) thin (5 cm to 2 meter) quartz+ plagioclase+ diopside ± scapolite cale-silicate granofels with finely disseminated scheelite (scheelite-bearing granofels; SBG) developed as discontinuous intercalations within the cale-silicate rocks of the Khan, Spes Bona, Oberwasser and Kuiseb Formations (Nosib and Swakop Groups); garnet+ pyroxene ± vesuvianite + scheelite ± fluorite replacement skarns hosted by Okawayo, Karibib and lower Kuiseb Formation marbles in the aureoles of late tectonic, unmineralized leucogranites; metaturbidite-hosted scheelite- (and possibly wolfrarnite-) bearing tourmalinites, both stratiform and crosscutting, in the Kuiseb Formation located in the 'cleavage fronts' of late tectonic granitoids; scheelite-bearing vesuvianite +quartz+ garnet skarnoid rocks (several hundred meters in length) in the calcareous metaturbidites of the upper Kuiseb Formation. These scheelite occurrences were discovered by the follow-up of a large number of tungsten anomalies located during a regional stream sediment sampling program. Detailed mapping, ultra-violet surveys and rock sampling proved to be the most effective surface exploration techniques for locating mineralization; soil sampling and geophysics were of almost no use. The largest, continuous scheelite-bearing skarn of economic interest, Otjua, has a drill-indicated reserve of 250 000 tonnes at 0.53 wt% W03 and 8 wt% CaF2.

Aur Resources is Canada's leading copper mining company with producing mines and development projects in North, Central, and South America. Copper production from Louvicourt Mine in Quebec, Quebrada Blanca, and Andacollo Mines in Chile had a record of 245 million pounds in 2001. Located 600 km North of Montreal, Louvicourt Mine is a joint venture between Aur Resources (30%), Teck Cominco (45%), and Novicourt (45%). Aur Resources is the mine operator with 280 employees working to produce a copper and zinc concentrate. In operation since 1994, the mine has produced a total of 12,606,000 metric tonnes of ore grading 3.6 % Cu, 1.5 % Zn, 26gr./m.t Ag, 0.9gr.m.t Au. This highly mechanized mine reached full production in August 1995 at 4,000 tpd. From 1996 to 2001, the average mine production rate was more than 4,300 tpd. The Louvicourt Mine continued its record of solid performance in 2002 and is expected to continue to do so for the balance of its 2.5 years mine life.

"This paper details the process and methodology followed to rehabilitate a rectangular ventilation shaft, situated in the Free State region of the Witwatersrand Gold Fields in South Africa. The shaft consists of seven compartments where self-mining of the sidewalls had taken place and damage to the decayed steel work in the shaft had taken place, thus limiting access down the shaft. The paper will provide some insight into the successes and challenges encountered during the project and may provide some learnings for future projects of a similar nature. INTRODUCTION The ventilation shaft forms part of the Phakisa Mine, situated in the Welkom area of the Free State province of South Africa, and is located in the Southern part of the Witwatersrand Basin, one of the world’s largest known and richest gold deposits (Figure 1).As is typical in South African gold mines situated in the Witwatersrand basin, the shaft is 1 770 metres deep (below collar). The shaft was sunk during the early 1940’s and comprised a rectangular shape with 7 compartments, used for both rock hoisting and men and material winding, respectively, with a single lift “Mary-Anne” compartment. Early in 2003, the mine decided to change the shaft from a downcast hoisting shaft to an up-cast ventilation shaft. The conveyances, ropes, winders and headgear (head frame) were removed and replaced with a high volume fan delivering 323m³/s of air at a pressure of 4.2Pa on surface. The up-cast velocity in the shaft was 6.5m/s, however this reduced significantly with the scaling of the shaft and the restrictions at shaft bottom. Although Harmony had converted the shaft from a downcast service shaft to an up-cast ventilation shaft some years back, the shaft steel work in the barrel of the shaft was left intact. Over the years, the steelwork in the shaft had decayed (rust and grime) and portions of this steelwork fell down the shaft. Concurrent with the decaying steel work, portions of the shaft lining had collapsed and it was getting progressively worse."

Numerous advantages have been recognized for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) operating at temperatures of 500-700°C. However, there are several issues related to low temperature SOFCs, such as high electrolyte resistance and high electrode polarization. One of the routes to enhance the electrode performance, particularly for the cathode, is to use new materials with optimized microstructure. In this work, the plasma-spraying technique, recognized to have several advantages over presently used deposition techniques, was used to deposit cathode materials onto ceramic and stainless steel substrates to obtain highly porous structures. Cathode materials with composition of Lao 6Sr0.4Co02Fe0 8O3 (LSCF) were employed in the powder form. The LSCF was prepared from powder precursors with different pore formers and binder levels, or from already produced, single-phase LSCF. The (La0.8Sr0.2)0.98MnO3 (LSM) cathode material was also processed for comparison purposes. The deposition process was developed to obtain coatings with good bond strength, porosity, film thickness and residual stresses. The phase and microstructure of deposited materials were characterized using XRD and SEM.

The aim of the present study is to investigate the extraction, separation and recovery of the indivisible metals of dysprosium and neodymium from permanent magnets scrap leach liquor solutions with meaningful recovery. The present experimental development focused on dysprosium separation from neodymium and recovery by suitable mineral acids. Fundamental studies of the effect of time, pH and extractant concentration on the metal separation were conducted followed by proposal of a mechanism for extraction. Process development included generation of McCabe-Thiele diagrams and counter current extraction (CCE) studies. After loaded organic generation from the CCE process, this was followed by scrubbing studies as well final recovery of dysprosium.

A GREAT deal of work has been done at Britannia during the past three years in improving and standardizing rounds for development headings, and the results obtained have been very gratifying. The round which has recently been adopted as a standard for all drifts and cross-cuts has, in some instances, doubled the average length of break formerly obtained. It has also increased the footage of advance per labour shift and reduced explosives' consumption. At the present time, with a shortage of skilled labour, more control is necessar7 in directing the drilling of rounds. The use of a standard round has been o great assistance to the foremen and shiftbosses. NATURE OF GROUND Most of the ground encountered consists of a moderately silicified chlorite schist, known locally as G.M.S (green-mottled schist). It cannot be termed hard ground, because a three and one-half inch Leyner will drill at an average rate of twelve inches per minute. Due to the abrasive nature of the ground, the gauge of the steel wears rapidly and in most cases one set of steel is needed for each hole. The ground is not 'free breaking and holes must be spaced correctly to obtain a maximum break. DEVELOPMENT OF STANDARD ROUND FOR THREE-SHIFT OPERATION Late in 1940, a development programme was started involving 7,000 feet of drifting, 6 ft. By 7 1/2 ft. In cross-section, in two headings. Plans were drawn up to advance the headings on three shifts. Equipment used in the headings was as follows: D.A.35 Leyner?machines, Eimco Model 12B mucking machines, nine one-ton end-dump cars, one Mancha Little Trammer on the longest heading, 20-pound rail, 4-in. 15 compressed-air line, 15-in. Fan pipe connected to 5 h. P. Coppus fan. Diamond-drill cross-cuts, 16 feet in length, were cut every 250 feet. Switches were installed at these cross-cuts and they served as passing points for the cars. One siding seventy feet in length was cut in each heading at approximately the half-way point. The cycle of operations planned was to muck out, drill, and blast each shift. Previous performance in this type of ground indicated that a daily advance of 12 feet to 14 feet might be made. However, if a better type of round could be developed, an increased daily advance would be possible. A study of the time available for each operation in a net working shift of six and one-half hours indicated that the maximum depth of round that could be mucked, drilled, and blasted each shift would be six and one-half feet. When this maximum depth was decided upon, the next problem was to develop a satisfactory round. Due to ventilation difficulties and to the short net working shift, the whole round had to be blasted at one time. In other words, no blasting of the cut-holes could be done.

Construction equipment is an important type of resources of heavy construction contractors. Since equipment breakdowns can cause project delays and significant financial losses, the contractors are eager to know those factors causing equipment failures directly or indirectly, related to equipment design, maintenance, and operations. Although Bayesian network can be used for diagnostic analysis of failure events or making predictive analysis, building a Bayesian network for such purpose can be difficult as the cause-effect relations can be subjective and their conditional probabilities change with a wide variety of causal factors. A hybrid approach is proposed in this paper to update the Bayesian diagnostic network structures and parameters using real life data, the conditional probabilities and cause-effect relationships can be dynamically updated with observed failure records to reflect the real life situations of a complex equipment system. A case study is conducted to show the benefits of the hybrid approach in construction equipment diagnostic analysis.

"On August 3, 1888, German Patent No. 43977 entitled ""A Process for the Production of Aluminum Hydroxide"" was issued*. The discovery which led to the patent was made by the Austrian chemist Karl Josef Bayer (1847-1904) (Fig. 1) who was at that time in Russia, and the process became known as the Bayer Process in his honour(1)(2)- The process imediately achieved industrial success, displacing the pyrometallurgical process that had been used until that time to produce alumina. The Bayer Process involved the pressure leaching of bauxite with NaOH solution to obtain sodium aluminate solution from which aluminum hydroxide was precipitated by seeding. Today bauxite is not only the principal source of aluminum but also of gallium, both metals being effectively recovered by the Bayer Process. The purpose of this paper is to outline the historical background of this discovery and its importance to hydrometallurgy."

WITH the friendly consent both of the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy, for whom this paper was written, and of the author, we had the pleasure of publishing Mr. Oliver Hall's paper on Mining at Noranda in our issue of last March and of having Mr. Hall present it at the Montreal Meeting. In the following pages we now report the discussion elicited by the paper at a meeting of the Institution in London on March 18th. The report is taken from the April, 1937, issue of the Bulletin of the Institution, to whom we again tender our thanks. THE PRESIDENT (MR. ROBERT ANNAN) said that this paper was, by arrangement with the Institution and the author, also being published by the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy for approximately simultaneous discussion. He was sorry that Mr. Oliver Hall could not be present to introduce it in person, for he was sure that the author would have had many more details to give about this most interesting mine. The paper contained a very useful account of mining operations, and personally he had been pleased to see the tri-dimensional projections of the orebody in Figs. 3 and S. It was a good illustration o the value of that method in presenting the form of an orebody such as this. While he had no desire to go into technical details, he wished to call attention to a remark in Mr. Hall's introduction, in dealing with the history of the mine and the principles on which it was run. The author had given an account of the early difficulties in solving geological problems, and later of the economic difficulties of seeing this mine through a period of intense depression in metal prices. He stated that it was clear that, to maintain income, tonnage must be increased, and, to maintain profits, costs must be decreased. It would be observed that there was no question of increasing the grade of ore. Then the author went on to say: 'Having set the house in order in the years of adversity, the higher price for gold is being used to mine to still lower limits and lengthen the life of the enterprise and the welfare of those dependent on it'.

The no. 7 vein system cuts the Ventures gabbro which has undergone folding and fracturing; the latter, in response to movement on the nearby Campbell Lake fault. It fills a shear fracture which pinches and swells in the upper mine levels but has a more uniform width in the lower levels. The best copper and gold grades in the upper levels occur in the widest parts of this structure. The vein is richer in quartz on upper mine levels and in carbonate on lower levels. The north wall of the vein is more affected by major and minor element wallrock alteration than the south wall. The isocumulative ci;rves for gold and copper show a direct correlation between the two metals in the upper levels and their increased concentration in the wider parts of the vein. Gold grade decreases in lower levels. A proposed structural model identifies the no. 3 and no. 7 veins as second order conjugate fractures, related to the Campbell Lake fault. The fractures pattern suggests that a conjugate system developed between these two parallel veins as a consequence of rock competence and a relatively low confining pressure.

The International Nickel Company of Canada, Limited operates five underground mines on the rim of the Sudbury Basin in the northern part of the Province of Ontario. Four of the mines, the Frood-Stobie, Creigh-ton, Murray and Garson, are located on the south range of the basin with-in a radius of IO miles of the centre of the city of Sudbury. The fifth mine, Levack, is on the north range about 30 miles northwest of the city. The ores are mined primarily for nickel and copper, and the principal minerals are pentlandite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite. In 1960 the total ore production was in excess of 16 mil-lion tons, 95 per cent of which was produced from the five underground mines and the balance from the Frood-Stobie Open Pit. Mining at this open pit is nearing completion and underground production has been expanded to replace the open pit tonnage.

"IMBSRE, one of the largest rare earth element (REE) producers in China, produces a rare earth oxide (REO) concentrate as a by-product by floating the middlings stream from a low intensity magnetic separation step in the main iron ore processing stage. As the mine depth has increased, flowsheet changes in the main iron ore circuit have reduced the REO grade and increased the magnetite to REO ratio in the middling product used as flotation feed for the REO circuit. Extensive laboratory work was carried out and identified a new modified hydroxamic acid product, Florrea 8920, that could provide better metallurgical results over the standard hydroxamic acid used as the main collector. This paper briefly reviews the use of hydroxamates in the flotation of oxide minerals, provides detailed information on the different hydroxamates available from Florrea and then provides a case study of the successful implementation of the Florrea 8920 product in a commercial Chinese REE flotation plant. The case study consists of a one year program of pilot plant testing and industrial trials to confirm the results of laboratory tests. The implementation of the new collector resulted in an improvement in grade and recovery to 61% and 64% respectively. The new collector also provided significant economic and environmental benefits.INTRODUCTIONThe flotation of rare earth element (REE) bearing minerals is a topic which has been dominated in the English language literature by the work conducted on the Mountain Pass bastnäsite deposit (Pradip, 1981; Fuerstenau, Pradip, Khan, & Raghavan, 1982; Pradip & Fuerstenau, 1983, 1985, 2013; Fuerstenau & Pradip, 1991; Fuerstenau, Pradip, & Herrera-Urbina, 1992; Herrera-Urbina, Pradip, & Fuerstenau, 2013). By far the most important collector type used for the flotation of rare earth minerals (REM) is hydroxamates. These reagents were initially extensively described as REM collectors in the English literature by Pradip (1981) however they have been successfully applied to numerous other minerals such as: cassiterite (Sreenivas & Padmanabhan, 2002); pyrochlore (Gibson, Kelebek, Aghamirian, & Yu, 2015); hematite, chrysocolla, rhodonite, hubnerite and pyrolusite (Fuerstenau, 2005); and malachite (Lenormand, Salman, & Yoon, 1979) amongst others."
