The comminution in a high-pressure roller mill is modeled by an energy-based population balance approach considering three aspects of breakage taking place in the active zones of the mill: the interparticle breakage in the high-compression zone, the breakage at the edges of the rolls, and the pre-breakage in the acceleration zone. Together with an appropriate model of classification, this model can be used to simulate steady-state performance of closed-circuit grindings with high-pressure roller mill. After a brief description of the basic modeling approach, the algorithm of the steady-state calculation for a generalized grinding-classification circuit is presented, from which the circuit configurations commonly met in industrial practice can be derived. With an iron ore as feed material for example, simulation results are shown and discussed in respect of circulating load, specific energy consumption and product fineness for closed-circuit grindings under various operating conditions. The effects of stressing intensity, working gap, classifier parameters as well as circuit configuration on the overall circuit performance are investigated systematically by means of computer simulation.

Metallurgical results for the copper-nickel disseminated ores were improved by using ultrasonic treatment. This has been demonstrated by processing of bubble-pulp flow in the reactor zone of a reactor-separator flotation machine. It can be explained by changes in mineral and size composition of the concentrates. Thus, the selectivity of Cu/Ni flotation for different values of the hydrodynamic parameter increases considerably. Additional effect of the ultrasound treatment has been noticed under conditions when the detachment of the gangue minerals from bubbles can be controlled. Reactor-separator has advantages over other types of flotation cells for this purpose. In fact, the weak diameter of reactors make more efficient the ultrasound effect than in conventional impeller or column flotation machines. A combination of ultrasonic treatment with original organization of gas pulp flux in the reactor-separator allows to obtain significant effects in the flotation attachment/detachment subprocesses, enhancing the process selectivity and/or recovery of substances. Increase of total recovery of copper and nickel into bulk concentrate at constant grade is 8.5% for coarse disseminated ores. For copper ore, copper recovery increased by 10% at unchanged grade of 11.7% and nickel recovery gained 17% at the constant grade of 2%.

Using pure quartz and hematite minerals, the adsorption mechanism of mixed cationic/anionic reagent schemes was investigated through Hallimond flotation studies. The flotation response of quartz and hematite independently with cationic and anionic collectors as well as with mixed cationic/anionic collector systems is assessed. The flotation response as a function of pH and collector concentration was investigated. The single mineral flotation tests in the presence of anionic collectors, quartz does not respond to flotation, but the C12 amine flotation of quartz was observed to be pH and concentration dependent. It was observed that hematite flotation recovery is maximum at acidic pH with sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS), neutral pH with oleate, and at basic pH about 9.5 with C12 amine. Flotation results with both quartz and hematite indicate an increased adsorption of cationic collector in the presence of anionic collector apart from its own co-adsorption. The incorporation of oleate in between C12 amine molecules decreases the electrostatic head-head repulsion and thereby increasing the adsorption of C12 amine due to attractive tail-tail hydrophobic bonds, besides forming a closely packed adsorbed layer enhancing the hydrophobicity. The increase in oleate concentration beyond C12 amine concentration leads to the formation of soluble C12 amine-oleate complex / precipitate and the adsorption of these species decreased the flotation since the alkyl chains are in chaotical orientation with a conceivable number of head groups directing towards the solution phase. Under the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Energy, a project was completed in 2005, which studied the use of a special pneumatic capsule pipeline (PCP) system, driven by linear induction motor (LIM), for transporting minerals and/or mine wastes. In this study, the pipeline is a rectangular tube of 1m × 1m cross section. The capsules are similar to railroad cars running on small rails imbedded in the tube. A LIM is placed AT the entrance of the tube to transfer power electro-magnetically from the LIM to capsules. The capsules going through the LIM, propelled by the electromagnetic field generated by the LIM, move faster than the air and hence impart energy into the airflow. This in turn pushes the capsules in the tube forward. When the tube is long (say longer than 10 km), additional LIMs may be needed along the tube to serve as booster pumps. An advantage of using LIMs instead of blowers as used in ordinary PCPs is that capsules can pass through the LIMs unhindered. This enables the use of booster pumps for long tubes. It also enables PCP to achieve much higher cargo throughput than that of PCPs using blowers, thereby reducing unit cost ($ per ton-km). Advantages of using capsules with steel wheels running on steel rails in the tubes including: (1) contact friction is only about one-fifth of that using rubber tires, thereby conserving energy, (2) capsules can run at a much higher speed than those using rubber tires without overheating and damaging the tires, and (3) rails make capsule motion control simple; they restrict lateral movement of capsules, and make branching easy-by using standard rail crossing equipment. This advanced PCP system combines the advantages of LIM with the advantages of rails, resulting in a super-efficient tube system having throughputs an order of magnitude greater than that of conventional PCPs, and having an energy efficiency better than railroad transport. Analysis shows that the system is highly cost-effective when throughput is high-at least 5 million tons per year. The system is most suitable for long-distance transportation of minerals (including coal and flyash) and wastes (including both mine wastes and municipal solid waste).

"The concern regarding grinding media consumption rates is as old as the invention of the tumbling mill. Over the years many materials and grinding media shapes have been tested. Through all this, steel grinding balls have proved to be the most effective media for comminution in tumbling mills. There have been several approaches to be able to the wear of the ball charge in any given mill, all of them based on limited empirical evidence. The mining industry still utilizes the Bond Abrasion test that was developed in the 1960´s. As shown later in this publication, this approach shows error greater than 60%. More recently, in 2007, Radziszewski from Mc Gill University has proposed a different total grinding media wear model; this model is based on decoupling the effects of the abrasion, corrosion and impact wear mechanisms. Also in 2007, Benavente, at the time with Moly-Cop Peru, presented an empirical model relating both ore properties and operational conditions that would affect the wear performance of the grinding media. For the database referred in this article, Benavente’s model shows an average error of ± 12% which represents a higher degree of improvement in comparison with previous approaches. The current paper presents recent research conducted by Moly-Cop Peru to further improve the capability of the empirical model originally developed by Benavente to estimate grinding media wear rates. The work performed included extensive determinations of the Bond Abrasion Index for different types of ores, collected at industrial grinding applications where the corresponding operational information was made available. The results of the research enabled us to build a more robust and confident model for estimating the grinding media wear rate. The average error of this new model is in the order of ± 9% which is a significant improvement over the models previously described."

"The results of POX of refractory gold-bearing concentrates using halide-ion as a lixiviant for precious metals and activated carbon as an adsorbent are given. It was found that gold did not recover to the solution when halide was added during POX. Silver partially dissolved in the solution. When halide-based reagents and activated carbon were added during POX, gold dissolved and loaded onto the activated carbon. The degree of sulfides oxidation was 99.3-99.6%. The recovery of gold onto granulated carbon was 94.7-94.8% when using chlorine-bearing lixiviants: NaCL, CaCL and carnalite and 98-99% when using KJ and KBr. This treatment process of refractory gold-bearing concentrates combines sulfide oxidation, dissolution and adsorption of precious metals. The results of the metals recovery achieved using this process can be compared with the recovery during POX-cyanidation. In this case, sodium cyanide was not used. This allows the reduction of capital and operational costs due to the absence of cyanidation, CIL and detoxification of leaching tailings circuits."

The phosphate ore sample was taken from the iron tailings after recovering most of magnetite by magnetic separation in Longlin, Yunnan Province of China. Batch flotation tests had been conducted to upgrade the phosphate concentrate by conventional fatty acids reagents under 70% -75 µm of the particle size; however, the unsatisfied results (P2O5 grade of 27.84% and recovery of 49.25%) were obtained. Also there are a large amount of slimes trapped in the concentrate and high-dosages consumption of reagents, for example, more than15 kg/t soda ash and 2 kg/t sodium silicate at only one-staged roughing. Based on the analysis of X-ray diffraction (XRD) for the sample, most of gangues are clay, quartz, and chlorite, which may easy to over-grind and deteriorate the flotation process either on reagents consumption or slurry fluidity or viscosity. A hydro-cyclone had been introduced to pre-concentrate the phosphate ore by scrubbing the slime before flotation, which can result obviously in reducing the dosages of soda ash from 15 Kg/t to 4 Kg/t, and raising the grade of P2O5 in the concentrate from 27.84% to 36.13% at the expense of about 4% recovery of P2O5. They also substantially reduced the time of sedimentation of concentrate after flotation from ~10 to ~1 min. In this paper, the effects on the recovery of P2O5 by the different dosages of flotation reagents with or without de-sliming were studied, with the objective of determining the different effects on the functions of flotation reagents by slime during flotation. The steady-state and dynamic behaviour of semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) mills are arguably best described using a population model that caters for the breakage kinetics and the material trans-port of rock and pulp inside the mill. Breakage kinetics are usually expressed in terms of a specific breakage rate function and a separate primary breakage distribution function. Material transport usually invokes the concept of a specific discharge rate function. Unfortunately, the breakage rate and breakage distribution functions for SAG mills are very difficult to estimate uniquely from plant data alone. Simplifying assumptions must be made to over-come this problem, which leads to many unresolved dilemmas with regard to whether or not the de-rived functions are accurate, precise, and reflect reality. For example, it is sometimes assumed that the breakage distribution function for a SAG mill treating run-of-mine ore can be derived from laboratory dropweight and tumbling tests on small rocks in narrow size ranges. Such tests hardly reflect the environmental conditions likely to be encountered in a pilot or production SAG mill where there is a wide spectrum of particle sizes. It is shown that the dilemmas associated with standard population balance models (models that utilise separate breakage rate and breakage distribution functions) can be overcome by expressing breakage behaviour inside a SAG mill in terms of a single function. This function is an energy-based cumulative breakage rate function defined as the fractional rate at which particles and rocks coarser than a given size break to below that size per unit specific energy input. A model for SAG milling is formulated, which invokes the concept of a cumulative breakage rate function. Comparisons are made between the mathematical structure of this ?simple model? and standard population balance models. Perhaps the most attractive feature of the ?simple model? is that the cumulative breakage rate function can be uniquely estimated from measurements of size distributions and mass flows of the feed and discharge streams together with the size distribution and holdup mass of the mill charge. Such measurement can easily be made at pilot scale. It is concluded that this simplified approach to SAG milling may turn out to be the quickest way to fully describe and quantify the performance of these very complex mills.

Surfactant plays a critical role in many industrial processes such as petroleum, mining, environment and food processing, and daily life. For ionic surfactant systems, adsorption of surfactant at oil-water interface imposes a net charge to the interface. The nature and magnitude of the charges at the oil-water interface depend on charge characteristics of surfactant molecules, concentration of surfactant and solution pH. In our previous study, zeta potential measurement of hexadecane drop-lets in industrial process water was shown to be a simple, yet powerful method for identifying various types of ionic surfactants present in the aqueous system. In this paper, the site-binding model was applied to prediction of zeta potential of oil droplets in aqueous solutions containing a mixture of cationic and anionic surfactant molecules. The total number of interfacial sites for various types of surfactant involved was determined by applying the Gibbs adsorption equation to the measured interfacial tension-surfactant concentration profiles. The distribution of various types of surfactant molecules at the interfaces was evaluated by Langmuir isotherm constants. With the ionization constant of surfactant taken from the literature, the predicted zeta potentials of oil droplets in surfactant solutions from site binding model were shown in a reasonable agreement with the measured zeta potential values.

"Our recent studies revealed that the sulfide minerals in contact with water during grinding produced hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) where the amount of H2O2 production by the minerals found to be in the order of pyrite > chalcopyrite > sphalerite > galena. The H2O2 effect on the oxidation of pulp components and its influence on the concentrate grade and recovery in flotation have been studied and the results have been presented and discussed in this paper. Studies have also been carried out to build correlation between percentage of pyrite in the concentrate, grinding conditions and concentration of OH•/H2O2 in the pulp and as well of controlling the formation of these species through known chemical means for depressing the generation of the oxidant. Flotation tests using a complex sulfide ore with the same reagent scheme that is being used at Bama concentrator in Iran but with the addition i) Na2S reductant and ii) inorganic (EDTA) and organic (TETA) surface modifiers, during grinding stage have been performed to judge the beneficial or detrimental role of H2O2 on the selective flotation of sulfides. The results demonstrate that the selectivity of metal sulfides against pyrite increases with increasing generation of H2O2 in the pulp liquid.INTRODUCTIONOur recent studies have illustrated the formation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) by metal-sulphides during grinding in the presence and absence of oxygen (Javadi Nooshabadi & Hanumantha Rao, 2013a; Javadi Nooshabadi & Hanumantha Rao, 2013b; Javadi Nooshabadi & Hanumantha Rao, 2013c; Javadi Nooshabadi & Hanumantha Rao, 2014). In the absence of oxygen, it was found that pyrite surface is catalytically active and able to breakdown water molecules to form OH• free radical and thereby deriving oxygen in the formation of H2O2 from water molecules. The in-situ formation of H2O2 and its influence on sulphide flotation has not been addressed yet. The presence of strong H2O2 oxidant in the pulp liquid and its selective oxidation of pyrite would be beneficial in depressing pyrite flotation. Therefore, it is important to build correlation between percentage of pyrite in the concentrate, grinding conditions and concentration of OH•/H2O2 in the pulp as well as to study possible ways of flexibly controlling the formation of these species through known chemical means for depressing the generation of the oxidant."

"In this paper, experiences from Polish non-ferrous metals ores enrichment plants in the copper and blende concentrates quality improvement are discussed. The blende concentrate being produced in ZGH Boleslaw S.A., with Zn content of about 54,5% is characterized by the relatively high magnesium content reaching a level of 1% resulting from the dolomite presence, while for the zinc production by electrowinning a concentrate in which magnesium content should not exceed 0,3% is required. The implemented new technology for the quality improvement of blende concentrate is based on the leaching of zinc concentrate with sulfuric acid aimed at dissolving of the contained dolomite, and then flotation of the leached concentrate. It allows to obtain a concentrate with magnesium content below 0,1% at the simultaneously increased zinc content to about 57,5%. In the paper, laboratory tests results on the development of optimal flotation flowsheet for the gypsum removal and the industrial tests results concerning the process optimization of this flotation are discussed. In turn, the copper concentrate being produced in Polish copper ore enrichment plants KGHM PM S.A., is characterized by the increased organic carbon content - above 8%. It creates problems with the smelting of this concentrate because of difficulties with the heat removal derived from the combustion of organic carbon in the flash smelting process. The implementation of segregating flotation to the industrial practice allows the effective production of two concentrates with the differentiated chemical compositions - a concentrate with increased copper content and reduced organic carbon content for the flash smelting process, and a concentrate with lower copper content and increased organic carbon content for the shaft smelting process. In the paper, conditions of the segregating flotation and the achieved results are described."

According to the difficulty of dolomite removal from collophanite,normal-reverse floatation process has been adopted in floatation with the use of highly selective collector G-4 and depressant S721. Good indexes of flotation have been obtained with the run-of-mine ore containing 17.96 % P2O5 and 2.31 % MgO being upgraded to a concentrate containing more than 30% P2O5 and less than 1% MgO. The reagent interaction mechanism in low grade collophanite flotation has been stu-died by FTIR analysis and theoretical calculation. The results indicate that the interaction between collector G-4 and collophanite is the result of chemical adsorption in combination with physical ad-sorption with chemical adsorption playing the major role. Depressant S721 adsorbs on dolomite surface to form a water film and effectively depresses the flotation of dolomite and reduces the MgO content in the concentrate.

The bleaching of edible oils, industrial oils, and some chemicals may be achieved using natural and acid-activated clays. These materials remove impurities and pigments from the oils. In this work, a bentonite clay from Turkey (Somas bentonite) was activated with different concentration of H2SO4 and HCl at 70~90°C and 5~8 hours. Under these conditions several cations were removed from natural bentonite (Al, Mg, and Fe) and DTA-TGA, FT-IR curves of the solids obtained after acid treatment were examined. Treatment time and acid concentration increased the degree of destruction of the bentonite structure which was determined by ICP. Activated samples were tested in order to verify their capacity to bleach soybean oil and compared to standard commercial bleaching clays. The experimental results indicate that treated samples with H2SO4 have the same efficient in bleaching crude soybean oil with the standards and treated sample with HCl is more efficient in bleaching than the commercial products.

"Some researchers postulate that the floatability of a particle in the streams of an industrial flotation circuit is a function of only its size and liberation properties. They do not discount the importance of reagent or surface contamination on particle floatability but assume that the reagent coverage or surface contamination of the particle surfaces is essentially uniform for particles of similar size and mineralogical properties when subjected to a particular chemical regime.In this paper, samples collected from batch tests performed on different streams of the Red Dog lead cleaning circuit have been characterised with respect to their size, mineral association and mineral surface exposure. An analysis of this data set indicates that particle recovery rate is significantly affected by mineralogical properties - in particular the degree of valuable mineral surface exposure.However, through the use of a nodal analysis technique developed by the authors, it can be concluded that particles with the same size and mineral composition do not all float with the same rate, but with a distribution of rates. The characteristics of this floatability distribution do not change during the flotation process. It is suspected that the particles within a size mineralogical class in this study have varying degrees of surface oxidation and that this results in varying particle flotation rates. Thus basing particle floatability on size and mineralogical effects, alone, in a flotation model is not always valid."

The traditional technological flow sheets for processing of ferrous quartzite (magnetite ores) al-low production of the iron concentrates with Fe content of 65%~68 % and recovery level about 55 %. The losses of iron with the tails of wet magnetic separation are related to hematite and quartz-magnetite particles, which are not extracted under low magnetic field employed. This work presents the results of the application of reverse cationic flotation for production of hematite concentrates with weak silica content from the tailings of wet magnetic separation of mag-netite. Fine particle size, complex mineralogy and presence of locked particles determine the impos-sibility of direct production of hematite concentrate by flotation or magnetic separation. The gravity concentration allows obtaining of iron concentrate from the well-prepared feed (size fraction -53+20 µm) but with very low recovery. Thus, hematite concentrates with weak silica content and satisfactory iron recovery were obtained by reverse cationic flotation, when it was fed with iron pre-concentrate produced by high gradient magnetic separation. The best flotation results were obtained by the use of formulations based on amines of different molecular structure that modulate the structure of adsorption layer, and favour a shifting of hydro-philic-hydrophobic balance on the surface of silicates with adsorbed starch and their preferential transfer into the froth product.

With a demand for increasing energy efficiency and a need for improving bitumen recovery, a highly integrated solution for sustainable lease development of Aurora North of Syncrude has been proposed and implementation plans are underway. Flocculation and thickening technology as an important component of the integrated solution provides Syncrude an opportunity of rapid heat recovery from tailings and more flexible tailings closure and reclamation options. Flocculation of fine-particle suspensions by polymers is a non-equilibrium process whose performance is strongly influenced by physical and chemical variables. While polymeric flocculants are frequently used to establish the chemical conditions favorable for flocculation, the actual performance of a flocculation process generally depends more on the physical variables, such as the hydrodynamic conditions in mixing the flocculants and slurry. In order to study the effect of hydrodynamic conditions on flocculation of Syncrude fine tailings, a standardized laboratory test procedure called power flocculation has been developed in comparison with the conventional manual mixing methods. It is shown that the agitation speed and time in conditioning the flocculant solution and the slurry have a profound effect on the flocculation performances measured by initial settling rates, supernatant clarity and sediment density. It was found that the optimum bench test conditions for power flocculation of Aurora fine tailings with a sand-to-fine ratio (SFR) of about 1:1 are conditioning of the flocculant solution and the tailings slurry at 250 rev/min to 300 rev/min in 20 s to 40 s. The test results are inter-preted with a flocculant adsorption/redistribution kinetic model that helps understanding of the effect of hydrodynamic conditions on flocculant adsorption, floc formation and floc growth.

Pure camsellite samples were prepared through crushing, sorting and grinding the high-grade iron-containing camsellite ores from Fengcheng, Liaoning, China. The flotation behaviour of camsellite was studied via a systematic investigation of camsellite flotation re-covery changes as a function of choices and dosages of collectors and depressants at different slurry pH. The results showed that at pH 8.5 to 9.5, the recovery of camsellite reached the maximum at 90%~93.5% using dodecylamine as the collector, while under the same condition a recovery of 84%~86% could be achieved with sodium oleate. The adsorption of dodecylamine was not affected by the addition of sodium hexametaphosphate, but the adsorption of sodium oleate could be significantly depressed. This implied that sodium metahexaphosphate could be used as an effective depressant for the other associated minerals during the dodecylamine flotation of camsellite. When starch was used as the depressant, the flotation of camsellite by sodium oleate was almost completely depressed in the alkaline conditions. Significant depressions were also observed when calcium chloride was added in the camsellite-sodium oleate system. The higher the slurry pH is, the stronger the depression. Zeta potential measurements indicated that the flotation was mainly initiated by the electrostatic adsorption of the collector on camsellite. X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS) analysis showed that the adsorption was originated from the electrostatic attraction between the N atom in dode-cylamine and B atom in camsellite. Dodecylamine had a higher coverage on the camsellite surface than sodium oleate.

"The global demand for the copper metal is continuously increasing however, the high-grade copper ore deposits are constantly depleting. As a result, ore bodies with complex mineralogy characteristics and rich in arsenic-copper bearing minerals are increasingly processed. Arsenic-copper sulphides such as enargite can represent a significant amount of arsenic in concentrate, which causes high financial penalties by smelters. On the other hand, arsenic (As) is a highly toxic inorganic pollutant, which causes human health and environmental problems. Recent research studies have demonstrated promising results showing the possibility of separating arsenic-copper sulphides from copper sulphides using controlled pulp potential (Eh) flotation at laboratory scale. However, the selective removal of arsenic-copper minerals in real ore systems is not well understood. Two ore samples were selected from the Tampakan copper-gold deposit located in the Philippines named the HAS (high arsenic sample) and the LAS (low arsenic sample) samples and the mineralogical analyses were performed on both samples. The floatability of enargite in a batch flotation system under controlled pulp potential conditions was investigated for the HAS and the LAS samples. It was observed that it is possible to selectively separate enargite from other copper minerals after reducing the pulp potential to about -200 mV SHE at pH 11 in the LAS sample. However, no separation between enargite and other copper minerals was observed at a reducing potential for the HAS sample. Mineralogical analyses and surface chemistry studies were undertaken for both samples to find out the reasons for different observations. This study has an important implication in sulphide flotation to achieve sustainable development in the utilisation of arsenic-copper mineral resources. INTRODUCTIONAs the demand for copper is increasing, the extraction and development of resources including complex deposits is becoming necessary. These complex deposits often have issues such as: lower grade ores, floatable non-sulphide gangue, very fine-grained ore and therefore poor liberation and significant regrinding, mixed copper mineralogy, complicated galvanic interactions, economic levels of gold and silver, and high levels of impurities such as arsenic. There is currently no established methodology for separating arsenic-bearing copper minerals from other copper sulphide minerals by flotation. The possibility of separating arsenic-copper sulphides from other copper minerals by controlling the potential of the flotation pulp has been shown in previous studies. However most of these studies were conducted on single mineral systems and the selective removal of arsenic-copper minerals in complex ore systems is not well understood. The flotation behaviour of arsenic-bearing minerals within complex ores differs significantly from that of pure mineral systems due to the effects of mineralogical composition, the degree of liberation, and the surface oxidation. The understanding and manipulation of these effects can lead to improvements in the selective flotation recovery of arsenic-bearing species from complex ore systems."

Mechanism of BK501 in desiliconization from bauxite was studied by use of flotation test, EDS, ?-potential, FTIR. Results of flotation show that almost all of diaspore can be depressed when BK501 is put into pulp ranging from pH 4~12, in the meanwhile kaolinite is slightly activated. In the light of surface analyses, it is concluded that the adsorption of reagent on the diaspore is dominant by chemical interaction. Moreover, kaolinite may float more by addition of BK501 because of flocculation.

Ores and raw materials are subjected to mineral processing operations to increase the content of their useful components. Upgrading of these materials can proceed with different selectivity and therefore, there is a need to know and monitor the separation results of the process. The separation results can be evaluated using tables and graphs called upgrading curves. The course of lines in the upgrading curves is usually complex and depends on the graph type and process parameters. The Halbich grade vs. recovery plot is frequently used because is practical and it indicates several characteristic features of separation results. Separations by means of flotation of several different shale, dolomite and sandstone copper ores were performed along with determination of their mineral composition, copper content, liberation degree, and the maximum theoretical copper content in the first concentrate. These data, plotted as the Halbich upgrading curves, allowed to find other characteristic points such as practical maximum copper content in the first concentrate, maximum curvature coexisting with the liberation degree, maximum recovery of ore valuable components, and the slope the recovery-grade line at high recoveries as a measure of liberation. Correlations between theoretical and practical maximum copper contents in the first concentrate as well liberation degree and maximum curvature were also presented. They show that the ore type significantly influences the shape of the Halbich curve and its characteristic points.
