"In the past, the metallurgical industry was most of the time dedicated on their main commodity, recovering base metals like zinc, copper or lead but leaving other valuable side elements in the generated residues. As a result, these accompanying minor elements, like gold, silver, indium or also PGMs can be found in the dumps of the corresponding industry. Because of political unrest, strikes, economic reasons or decreasing primary resources leading to a high supply risk, also those mentioned minor elements moved into the focus of the recycling industry. Therefore, beside the base metals, first of all the recovery of those minor metals would be of high interest contributing to the economic viability of recycling processes, although they occur in much smaller quantities in materials. In this context, residues from zinc industry, like leaching residues or precipitation residues show high potential to carry silver as well as indium next to lead and zinc. Therefore, the paper summarizes carried out thermochemical calculations investigating a possible recovery of silver as well as indium by volatilization and the influence of zinc and lead on this process. Based on these theoretical investigations with HSC, trials in lab scale were done verifying the obtained results.INTRODUCTIONHuge amounts of iron precipitate, mainly jarosite get landfilled every year although there is a high content of valuable metals in this residue beside iron. Nevertheless, jarosite has to be dumped due to the presence of contaminating heavy metals. The accumulation of these residues takes up massive land on the one hand but also causes a series of environmental problems in ecosystems on the other. Moreover, some toxic ingredients such as arsenic and cadmium can be dissolved in rain water and are therefore harmful to the health of the aquatic systems. (Erdem & Özverdi, 2011; ÖzverdI & Erdem, 2010) Approximately 0.5 t of dry jarosite accumulate in the production of 1 t of zinc by the hydrometallurgical zinc-winning route (Svens, 2010). Jarosite is a precipitation residue formed during the iron removal. In general, the iron already exists in the zinc ore which is why zinc ferrite builds up during the roasting step of the zinc ore. Zinc ferrite is only soluble in strongly acidic solutions and during the hot acid leaching step it gets dissolved while zinc and iron enter the solution. It is necessary to get rid of the iron because otherwise it would deposit on the cathode first due to its precious character which would be harmful in the zinc-winning electrolysis. Nevertheless successful investigations were done by adding chlorine to the jarosite to recover silver. These findings leads to another residue which occurs in huge amounts – electric arc furnace dust (abbreviated with EAFD) from the iron and steel industry. In 2013 the annual electric steel production reached about 451 million tons. Around 15-20 kg of EAFD is produced per ton of steel in an electric arc furnace (EAF), creating approximately up to 9 million tons of dust per year. (Grabda, Oleszek, Shibata, & Nakamura, 2014; World Steel Association) Next to elements like zinc, lead and iron, chlorine and fluorine are present in this dust. While galvanized steel plates in the scrap act as a source for zinc, casting powders, flame retardants and synthetic coatings are responsible for the chlorine and fluorine contents in the dust."

The presence of xenon isotopes from in-situ spontaneous fission of short-lived Pu244 has been confirmed in Hadean detrital zircons from Western Australia. Hadean and meteoritic zircons can retain secondary overgrowths developed after primary cristalization at 3.97-3.94 Gyr. On the moon, the metal grain in sample 66095,78 is mantled by troilite, schreibersite and cohenite. High chlorine content FeCl2 is deposited around metallic FeNi. The magnitude of Pollonium-210 to Radon-222 on the Aristarchus plateau spectrum indicates a past greater activity. The Earth Moon system from Nb/Ta systematics is consistent with a Moon iron core delayed to 3,9 Gyr.

Subsequent to the unbundling of the Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM) and the privatization of its constituent parts, the Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) represents a third of the original conglomerate. Now run by private hands as a sub group of Vedanta Resources Plc of India, KCM is strategizing on how best to deal with the operational issues of the organisation to resolve some of the difficult, logistical, environmental, mineralogical and metallurgical problems being encountered to tum them into opportunities as the company turns around. This paper reviews the options being put in place to provide appropriate solutions and strategies including the treatment of the highly siliceous low energy copper belt concentrates in its mining operations in Zambia.

While this momentum was maintained during the past year, the growing incidence of protectionist actions by several major nations has been eroding confidence in the global approach. The seriousness of current difficulties has created an urgent need for decisive action. At the same time, the limitations of the global approach have become more evident.

At the beginning of the 20 century, British Columbia produced a wide variety of quality dimension stone products for both domestic and foreign markets. The industry flourished until the 1930s when most of the producing quarries closed as a result of the Depression. During the 1990s, British Columbia experienced the resurgent North American dimensional stone production trend. The industry benefited from increased prospecting activity and from substantial new investment in processing equipment, particularly in the granite sector. These activities resulted in new quarry developments, the reopening of abandoned quarries such as on Granite and Fox Islands <www.quadrastone.com>, and a renaissance in downstream value-added activities. British Columbia has reestablished itself as an important, reliable and innovative source of high-quality stone products.

"Hydrotalcite is one kind of layered double hydroxides, and has special crystal chemical characteristics. Due to its good thermal stability, hydrotalcite used as the PVC heat stablier has attracted scientists’ attention. In this study, nano-hydrotalcite was synthesized by the method of mechanochemistry/crystallization, using brucite, Al(OH)3 and Na2CO3 as raw materials, and added into PVC to investigate the effect of hydrotalcite on thermal stability of composites. The synthesis mechanism was suggested by virtue of XRD, FE-SEM, FT-IR. It has been indicated that at the first of dry milling process, the parical sizes of brucite and Al(OH)3 decrease, while specific surface areas of them increase by the action of mechanical force, until produced amorphous particles. In the process of wet milling, metal ions in the amorphous body, which has high surface energy, can easily react with H2O, and produce the precursor of Mg6Al2(OH)18•4.5H2O, which has the same crystal structure as hydrotalcite. Under the hydrothermal condition, anions of OH- in the interlamination of precursor are exchanged by CO32- in the solution and nano-hydrotalcite is generated at last. The thermal stability was characterized by Congo red method. The results have revealed that hydrotalcite is one kind of long-term heat stabilizer, and residual stability time increase with the rise of added hydrotalcite amounts.INTRODUCTIONHydrotalcite, one kind of anionic clays, has been attracted a great interest for researchers because of their unexpected physical and chemical properties. The general formula is Mg6Al2(OH)16CO3·4H2O, where Mg2+ and Al3+ occupy octahedral positions in the brucite-like layers, and CO32- is an interlayer anion (Hoyo, 2007). Hydrotalcite is widely used in the fields of chemical engineering, materials engineering, environmental protection, medicine, and so forth, owing to its unique capability of adsorbability, ion exchange and thermal stability (Rozov, Berner, & Taviot-Gueho, 2010; Iwasaki, Yoshii, & Nakamura, 2012; Ay, Zümreoglu-Karan, & Temel, 2011; Cavani, Trifiro, & Vaccari, 1991; Li & Duan, 2005; Lin, Wang, & Evans, 2006). As a result, the study on synthesis and application of hydrotalcite has received considerable attentions."

"Calcite-cemented joints abound in the rock masses of Beishan area, which is the most potential area for the high-level radioactive waste (HLW) disposal of China. The mechanical properties of Beishan granite containing a calcite-cemented joint with a dip angle of 82° was investigated under uniaxial compression and the acoustic emission (AE) characteristics were also studied in this paper. Compared to intact granite, the calcite-cemented joint caused a decrease more than 50% in uniaxial compressive strength and a decrease more than 90% in shear strength. The Young’s modulus was also decreased, while the circumferential deformation of jointed granite was sharply increased. The AE monitoring system successfully recorded the process of micro-crack development and the results indicated that the risk of rock-burst could be reduced due to the appearance of calcite-cemented joint.INTRODUCTIONThe properties of jointed rocks differ considerably from that of intact rock. Due to the difficulties in specimen preparation, analogue experiments with artificially prefabricated fractures are often used to study the mechanical behavior of jointed rock (Chen et al. 2012; Kulatilake et al. 2001; Singh et al. 2001). However, natural joints are not quite similar to the artificial fractures and it is necessary to investigate the mechanical behavior of jointed rocks. Xie et al. 2011 studied the mechanical properties of marbles with natural joints by uniaxial compression tests and found that the uniaxial compressive strength of jointed rock is greatly decreased. With the unaxial compression tests, Jacobsson 2005, 2007 tested the intact and jointed granites, which were taken from the potential site for high-level radioactive waste (HLW) disposal of Sweden. However, no significant difference in strength or modulus was found. The above research results are inconsistent and it indicates the complexity of the mechanical properties of natural joints."

"A gold bearing concentrate containing 107 g/T of gold, 9.3% copper and 706 ppm of mercury was processed at the demonstration scale for the extraction of gold and copper using a cyanide free process. The concentrate was generated through flotation to upgrade the gold and copper grade, but also showed contamination with mercury. This concentrate was submitted to the DST process demonstration plant. The concentrate was first oxidized using a fluidized bed to produce a calcine. The mercury was volatilized during the oxidation stage with an efficiency higher than 98%. The mercury was condensed and removed from the sulfuric acid using a thiosulphate process. Copper was extracted from the calcine as copper sulphate using diluted sulfuric acid. The solid remaining after acid leaching was submitted to the DST chlorination process for gold extraction. Under optimized conditions, a gold extraction of 97.3% was achieved in the chlorination reactor. Gold was recovered from the pregnant brine by precipitation on silica using a DST proprietary process.INTRODUCTION Dundee Sustainable Technologies Inc. (DST) offers proprietary metallurgical processes for the treatment of material from the mining industry. DST processes enable the extraction of precious metals and for the removal and stabilization of contaminants, such as arsenic, from ores and concentrates. DST provides environmentally-friendly, viable and efficient processes, capable of handling complex and refractory ores which cannot be processed with conventional approaches due to metallurgical issues or environmental considerations. Several mining jurisdictions around the world have banned or restricted the use of cyanide. DST has developed a closed loop chlorination process as an alternative to the conventional cyanidation process for the extraction of precious metals from minerals. The tailings from the process are inert from toxic substances such as cyanide and organic compounds, are sulphide depleted which means they do not generate acid, and thus, meet and/or exceed environmental norms. The process has demonstrated excellent gold recoveries within a fraction of the time needed for cyanidation to obtain similar results. Moreover, the closed loop process does not generate any liquid effluent and does not consume much water: it only requires a water make-up to compensate for moisture leaving with the tailings and by-products, and seawater may be used. The improved environmental footprint of the DST process has been certified by the Environment Technology Validation program (ETV) which provides an independent evaluation of the performance claims of innovative technologies."

Since 1969, Kaiser has maintained a field-scale reclamation program dedicated to the reclamation of disturbances associated with past and present mining and exploration activities . Since that time, over 1400 acres have been treated using modified forestry and agricultural techniques with encouraging results.

"The Low NOx/SOx (LNS) Burner is a technology which, in pilot-scale tests, significantly reduces acid rain-forming emissions from the burning of coal. The precursors of acid rain are nitrous oxides (NO) and sulphur dioxide (SO:;) . TransAlta is currently planning two demonstration projects.Esso Resources Canada and TransAlta are undertaking a project to demonstrate how coal can be burned cleanly for steam raising in heavy oil operations by using TransAlta&apos;s LNS Burner on a steam generator at Esso&apos;s Cold Lake Production Project. The $10.7 million project started up in mid-J990, with testing to be completed in mid-I99J. The province of Alberta and Western Economic Diversification Canada, along with other private industry, are contributing funding to the project.The other demonstration project that has been selected for funding under the United States Department of Energy&apos;s Innovative Clean Coal Technology Program is a retrofit of LNS Burners to a 33 MW cyclone unit at Southern Illinois Power Cooperative&apos;s Marion generating plant. The US$13.6 million project is scheduled for completion 18 months after final funding arrangements are made.TransAlta believes that these demonstrations will lead to the development of a commercial ""clean coal"" technology. Other demonstration projects being planned will further broaden the base of applications.IntroductionTransAlta has recognized an increasing concern worldwide for the environment, and in particular the acid rain problem. Increasing public concern and the need to meet either current or possibly more stringent emission regulations have prompted them to explore various emission reducing technologies - despite the low sulphur content of its coal.The flue gas desulphurization (FOD) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology currently available to reduce sulphur and nitrous oxides from coal burning power plants is very costly. Having to incorporate FGD technology, or ""scrubbers"", greatly adds to the cost of producing power. Having to add such high costs to electric customers&apos; bills is something TransAlta is striving to avoid.There are many research programs now underway which are evaluating ways to provide electricity from coal in a clean manner. TransAlta has been observing or participating in a variety of these programs. However, there is one new technology which the company has identified as having the potential to control acid rain causing emissions at a fraction of the cost of conventional systems. That technology is called Low NOx/SOx, Burner - or LNS Burner."

"The determination of rock bolt contribution to reinforced joint shear strength is still a challenge, especially for assessing reinforced rock mass stability. For this purpose, several experimental studies have been performed during the last decades, mostly on small scale rock joint and bolt specimens. However, to accurately assess the rock bolt contribution, scale effect has to be accounted for. For this reason full scale lab tests are required as an alternative to in situ tests for which boundary conditions are more difficult to control.In this paper the results of an experimental program carried out with a large shear box, dedicated to test bolts in full scale conditions is presented. Different rock bolt diameters and different rock bolts inclination with respect to the shear plane were tested Experimental results were satisfactorily compared with an analytical model which is able to compute the contribution of the rock bolt to the shear strength of the joint as well the associated displacement of the joint. These conclusions allows us to validate the model in order to help the designer of reinforced rock engineering structures, such as slope or underground openings, to precise the optimum installation of rock bolts. INTRODUCTIONFully grouted rock bolts are commonly used for rock masses reinforcement to ensure the stability of rock slopes and underground cavities. For this purpose, the determination of rock bolt contribution to reinforced joint shear strength is of the utmost importance. During the last decades, several experimental studies have been performed to investigate the behavior of bolted rock joint. For obvious reasons, almost all the experiments were achieved on small scale bolted rock joint specimens (Bjurström, 1974; Azuar, 1977; Dight, 1983; Egger & Fernandes, 1983; Schubert, 1984; Spang & Egger, 1990; Egger & Zabuski, 1991). These studies made it possible to assess the influence of different parameters such as the bolt’s diameter, the number of bolts, the angle between the bolt and the joint, the nature of the rock, the friction and the dilatation angle of the joint. However, to accurately assess the rock bolt contribution, scale effect has to be accounted for (Vallier et al., 2010). Tantalum capacitors can be found mounted on printed circuit boards of domestic appliances such as personal computers. These capacitors contain a considerable quantity of expensive metal tantalum and can be detached and liberated from printed circuit boards by impact breakers. In this study, the size and density distribution of the liberated electronic devices were investigated. Then, tantalum capacitors were recovered from other electronic devices using size separation and pneumatic gravity concentration methods. More than 70% of Newton&apos;s separation efficiency was obtained for tantalum capacitors. High Newton&apos;s separation efficiency could be also obtained for other types of electronic devices such as chip resistors.

In the mining industry there exists a constant drive for increased safety and productivity and decreased operating costs. This acts as a driver for implementing advanced technology. As more and more mining operations turn to new technologies, an observed bottle-neck for technology advancement has been the limitation of machine vision solutions available. LiDAR has been seen as a possible solution to the machine vision problem. In the past, a few studies on machine vision solutions have been undertaken by various groups involving scanning laser range-finders and millimetre-wave radar. These studies have done little more than highlight the limitations of both technologies in the mining environment. Little work has been done, however, exploring the applicability of LiDAR imaging technology for mining applications. Neptec Technologies Corp. has developed an obscurant-penetrating LiDAR (OPAL) sensor technology which overcomes the limitations faced by traditional LiDAR sensors when operating in a dusty environment, as well as advanced 3D real-time intelligence (3DRi) data processing algorithms that enable the real-time exploitation of 3D imaging data with sensors mounted on moving vehicles. Working with Teck Resources Ltd. and Barrick Gold Corporation, Neptec is adapting the OPAL sensors and 3DRi technology to mining applications. This paper highlights a number of real-time OPAL/3DRi based mining applications demonstrating how this technology overcomes the limitations of traditional LiDAR to provide a real-time machine vision solution that supports mine machine autonomy.

AT THE Flin Flon plant of the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co., Limited there are two types of multiple hearth furnaces used in the roasting of sulphides. This pa-per will deal primarily with the wedge-type furnace in the roasting of zinc concentrates. The other furnace, the Nichols-Herroshoff type, is used in the copper smelter and is described in the papers given by (1) J. H. Ambrose in 1935 and (2) R. E. Mast and G. H. Kent in 1954. The design and operation of these roasting furnaces at the present time is essentially the same as given in the write-up in 1954. No at-tempt will be made here to describe these furnaces, except to mention that there are five Nichols-Herreshoff multiple-hearth furnaces, four of which are used to roast a dried mixture of copper concentrate, zinc plant residue, and flux, before this material is fed to the reverberatory furnace.

Coal dust explosions still remain the main hazard in the coal mining sector, notwithstanding their relatively wide recognition compared to other hazards and the development of effective methods of prevention. Coal dust explosions are still the cause of numerous catastrophes, often leading to fatalities. Fortunately, they rarely occur, and it is for this reason that their hazardous impact is often underestimated. This problem in Poland is being exclusively solved by the Central Mining Institute, Experimental Mine Barbara. Here, basic research on the phenomenon of coal dust explosions and prevention methods is carried out, as well as investigations into the causes and circumstances of past accidents. After 15 years of no coal dust explosion accidents in Poland (1987?2002), a few coal dust explosions have recently occurred, with tragic consequences. These events have taken place not only in hard coal mines, where the presence of dangerous coal dust is the result of common production cycle, and safety measures against coal dust explosions are subject to specific regulations, but also in coal-fired power plants. This is of special concern because prior to 1987, such accidents had been been reported only for coal mines and not for coal-fired power plants. In recent years, two dust explosions occurred in Polish power facilities: the Dolna Odra and Turow power plants. In both cases, coal dust explosions occurred in the fuel supply system, but biomass dust was also involved. The explosions caused significant damage to the systems and buildings. This paper gives description and schematics of the regions of catastrophic coal dust explosions that have occurred in recent years in Poland, as well as the results of post-accident investigations, presenting the coal dust explosion hazard at the accident scene The results specify in detail the state of safety measures against coal dust explosions in light of the relevant regulations in force, including amount of deposited coal dust, content of incombustible matter in coal dust, free moisture content in coal dust, state of coal dust explosion safety zones, and state of explosion barriers. The conclusions from the site inspection and post-accident investigations presented enable us to determine locations of explosion initiation, probable ignition sources, range of explosion flames, and explosion barrier performance. A complete elimination of coal dust explosion hazard at the site of dust deposition is practically impossible to achieve. Similarly, a total elimination of ignition source, which may be related to the occurrence of other natural hazards, equipment malfunction or human errors, is impossible. The examples of tragic events that took place in Polish coal mines and coal-fired power plants highlight shortcomings and mistakes made in terms of assessment and prevention measures taken against the coal dust explosion hazard.

The use of lightweight aggregate as a constituent of concrete is not a recent development. Pumice was used by the early Romans, in pozzolana cement concretes, in the construction of many of their works. However, the recent development of manufactured lightweight aggregates, such as the expanded shales, vermiculite and perlite, has created a possible use for a whole new group of Portland cement concretes. Concrete can now be produced with unit weights ranging from 30 to 150 pounds per cubic foot and with various insulating, fireproofing, acoustical and structural properties. The tonnage of such materials being used has increased considerably in each of the past ten years, and can be expected to increase for the next several years as availability of the aggregates becomes more widespread and the properties of such concretes become more thoroughly investigated and more generally known. Formulas relating economic optimum busbar cross sectional areas to busbar cost, electric price and financial parameters are reviewed and revised. Application of the formulas is illustrated with discussion of the appropriate choice of parameter values and the sensitivity of the optimum to the parameters. The extension of the single busbar concept to optimization of more complicated arrangements of bus for smelting pots is complicated by the constraint of obtaining a specified current distribution. An example problem illustrates the optimization of a section of a bus network containing a fork, with the imposed limitation of achieving a specified uniformity in the current. In cases where the current in the individual conductors may vary, Kelvin&apos;s law does not apply. Further extension of the technique to a full pot set of conductors poses additional problems which are discussed, but whose solution has not yet been accomplished. "In 2012 diesel engine exhaust (DEE) was classified as a human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and is one of the most common workplace carcinogens internationally. We estimate that approximately 2.4% of lung cancers (n=560) and a suspected 2.7% of bladder cancers (n=200) are attributable to occupational exposure to DEE annually in Canada. High levels of exposure to DEE in mining results in a disproportionate number of cancers in this sector (approximately 220 lung and 20 suspected bladder cancers annually). These could be prevented by reducing the number of workers exposed and level of exposure. KEYWORDS Bladder cancer, Diesel engine exhaust, Economic burden, Lung cancer, Mining, Occupational cancer, Prevention, Regulation INTRODUCTION Diesel engine exhaust is a complex mixture of gases and particulates containing known and suspected carcinogens such as benzene, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and metals. Approximately 900,000 Canadians are exposed to diesel engine exhaust at work, making it the most prevalent occupational lung carcinogen in Canada (CAREX Canada). Diesel engine exhaust is recognized as one of the most common workplace carcinogens in the world, but its classification as a human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) was relatively recent. In 2012, after decades of mounting evidence, diesel engine exhaust was upgraded from a probable (IARC Group 2A) to a definite human carcinogen (IARC Group 1) (IARC, 2014). The IARC evaluation was based on strong evidence in humans for an increased risk of lung cancer, as well as strong evidence in animal studies. The key human evidence considered by IARC was from epidemiologic studies of workers in truck transportation, rail transportation, and mining industries, where the use of diesel engines is widespread. These studies provided strong sufficient evidence for an increased risk of lung cancer, as well as limited evidence for bladder cancer. The human studies used particulate matter, generally measured as elemental carbon (EC) or total carbon, as a surrogate for diesel engine exhaust to assess the risk associated with level of exposure. The animal studies reviewed by IARC showed sufficient evidence for cancer with exposure to whole diesel exhaust and the particulate matter fraction of diesel exhaust, but not for the gas phase components."

GENERALLY speaking, the Industry lost ground in 1941 in its accident experience. Though the frequency of compensation accidents was but slightly higher than in the previous year and well below past experience, our fatality rate shot up to that obtaining in 1938, and the average cost per man employed was the highest for some time. The number of fatalities was 56 in 1941 as against 33 in 1940. The average cost of compensation per man employed was $34.25 in 1941 as against $28.43. There was but a slight increase in the number of men employed. Accident prevention efforts were maintained, as shown by our frequency, but our accidents were of a more serious nature. In a period of considerable labour turnover, with many new men entering the Industry, especially the base-metal division, and much mental distraction, we might well have expected a high rate of accidents. That this did not occur is a tribute to managers, supervisors, and workmen alike. We all regret the high fatality rate and one must consider why this occurred. So far as it is possible to determine, there is no apparent explanation. There were no disasters. The accidents occurred to the same class of work-men, both in respect to jobs and age groups, and from the same age-old causes that we all know so well. Luck is a big factor in the seriousness of an accident; the solution lies in preventing accidents, even first-aid cases. Generally speaking, if minor accidents do not occur, major accidents do not occur.

"AbstractA technique is described for preparation of palladium sponge and for spectrochemical analysis of the metal in this form. The precision and accuracy of the method are discussed. Analyses are compared with previous spectrochemical analyses of palladium in the black form. Good agreement was found in the two sets •of results and it is concluded that they are more reliable than wet chemical .analyses of the same material.IntroductionFOR SEVERAL YEARS the problem of platinum metal analysis by spectrochemical methods has been under investigation at the Spedtrographic Laboratory, Department of Geological Sciences, Queen's University. The problem, briefly -stated, is as follows: Samples of platinum, palladium,-rhodium, ruthenium, and iridium are received as fine metal powders, called sponge. Direct spectrographic analysis of this material has not been found satisfactory due to its heterogeneity •as regards contaminant metals, which may be present up to a total of one per •cent or more. Further-more, spectrographic standards are difficult to obtain and difficult to prepare accurately by adding weighed portions of contaminant metals to the sponge. The fact that •contaminant metals in original samples are probably alloyed with the major constituent is a further difficulty since complete fusion of these refractory metals proved impractical in the present case as a means of standard preparation. It •has, therefore, been found most satisfactory to dissolve the metals, prepare standards by addition of solutions of contaminant metals, and to reduce both standards and samples to a homogeneous form. A previous paper, by Hawley, Wark, Lewis and Ott (2) dealt with a method for spectrochemical analysis of platinum and palladium in their black form. Since completion of research on the black technique, the possibility of analyzing palladium accurately in its sponge form has• been investigated."
