"Presently the global commodity situation for non ferrous-, precious- and rare metals is characterized by a strong increase in consumption and a simultaneous shortage of materials derived from primary sources. So the use of secondary raw materials gains is important due to economic and ecological reasons. Non Ferrous-, precious- and rare earth metals were detected in household waste (Municipal solid waste, MSW) for years. In MSW-treatments plants NF-metals are actually mostly separated from dried fractions. The separation of these metals is carried out with the aim of removing particles which disrupt further processing. A selective enrichment of individual non-ferrous metals has not been carried out previously. The separated fractions contain mixtures of Al, Cu, Zn, Pb, Sn, alloys, precious metals (e. g. Au, Ag, Pt) and rare metals (Ga, In, Nd etc.) along with considerable amounts of contaminations. The R&D project "NE-Rec" selectively processes the coarsely separated non-ferrous-metal-conglomerates increasing the concentration of targeted metals. Metals and metal mixtures are concentrated by sorting steps and the impurities are discharged from the process. Still contaminated precious metals are then subjected to a wet-chemical treatment. So metals can be specifically brought into solution or can be precipitated to separate unwanted components (inerts, polymers, foreign metals). Further the relevant metals will be concentrated by thermal-metallurgical processes. The technology, developed in the R&D project, enables identification, separation and processing of non-ferrous metals, precious metals and REM in household waste and transfers them into further processable individual fractions."

Usually magnetic separation is performed to separate ferromagnetic, paramagnetic and diamagnetic particles by controlling magnetic field strength. In this research the wet high gradient magnetic separation at various kinds of magnetization of medium has been investigated to separate different kinds of magnetization of paramagnetic mineral particles from each other. Most of week paramagnetic particles are captured at high magnetic field using superconducting magnet. If the magnetization of fluid is larger than that of paramagnetic particle, the paramagnetic particle cannot be captured in the direction of magnetic field. The paramagnetic particles of different magnetization such as hematite, chromium oxide, perovskite and rutile are separated in different magnetization of fluids. These particles are present in the incinerated bottom ash. The separation is useful to recover titanium oxide from bottom ash and the removal of chromium of bottom ash is important to reuse the bottom ash as cement. The used fluids are paramagnetic liquids dissolving paramagnetic salts and the water based magnetic fluid dispersing the stable ultrafine magnetite. The dispersion condition of particles related to zeta-potential of the suspension feed is also important to separate effectively by controlling pH

A new short combined flow sheet including high intensity magnetic separation and flotation for a rare earth ore in Maoniuping deposit, China has been investigated. Massive conclusive results demonstrate, that it is critical to separate the ore by high intensity magnetic separation prior to flotation for tons of slimes and nonmagnetic gangue existing. The vital technological parameters affecting flotation have been studied in detail. Modified hydroxamic acid is an efficient collector for bastnasite flotation because of its high selectivity. Flotation results also indicate high temperature that play an unfavourable role on the recovery as well as the grade of bastnasite concentrate, when the rare earth ore is floated with modified hydroxamic acid and sodium silicate depressant. Bastnasite concentrates, averaging over 65 percent REO at an overall recovery of 82-84% is achieved by the new beneficiation technology. "Oxyethylated compounds are used as reagents-regulators in the flotation of non-sulfide ores, in particular, apatite-containing ores. Thus, the necessary degree of selectivity in the flotation separation of two calcium-containing minerals of apatite and calcite is achieved only by using, in addition to a collector, regulators-reagents from the nonylphenol ethoxylates class. In order to establish the most optimal structures, this paper presents a comparative assessment of the physical-chemical and flotation properties of several classes of oxyethylated compounds - alkylphenol ethoxylates, aliphatic alcohol ethoxylates and oxyethylated carboxylic acid. The authors have studied their dispergating ability with respect to the air phase and calcium soaps of the carboxylic collector. Dependences of foaming properties of regulators on the degree of oxyethylation have been determined. Adsorption isotherms of sodium oleate on apatite and calcite in the presence of regulators have been obtained. It has been shown that the presence of oxyethylated compounds in the solution reduces the amount of the adsorbed fatty acid collector. The influence of the considered classes of regulators on apatite flotation has been studied. The interrelation of flotation properties of oxyethylated compounds and their molecular structure has been established.INTRODUCTION Flotation plays a leading role in complex apatite-containing ores processing. However, two calcium-containing minerals - apatite and calcite, which compose apatite-carbonate ores, are characterized by close flotation properties. Selective separation of these minerals is a difficult task, the solution of which is impossible without using reagents-regulators. One of the ways to ensure the selectivity of the flotation separation of calcium-containing minerals is the use of reagents-depressants such as sodium silicate, starch, cellulose derivatives, and others (Liu et al., 2016; Rao et al., 1989). Another method is the application of nonionic reagent regulators (Filippov et al., 2016; Filippova et al., 2014; Ignatkina, 2017), which contribute to the adsorption of the ion collector (Filippov and Filipova, 2006 Rao and Forssberg, 1997) and stability of formed froth (Sis and Chander, 2003)."

"Mineral and industrial raw material mining and preparation make a negative impact on the environment. The main types of impact are the land resources gathering, soil and water balance disturbance, surface-water, underground space and atmospheric air pollution, as well as the vast amount of solid and liquid waste production. Considerable attention in recent decades has been given to waste recycling. The task is to maximize the use of both newly formed and accumulated solid and liquid wastes. The mining and mining and smelting enterprises industrial waters are a very promising source of secondary hydromineralic raw materials. They have high concentrations of not only calcium, sodium, but also, for example, lithium, rubidium, heavy non-ferrous metals. In general, unfortunately, we have to state that today there is no wide practice of extracting valuable components from waste enrichment, as well as processing of man-made waters to extract metals from them. The quantity of extracted components from underground, and furthermore passing waters, is insignificant. At the same time there is a tendency to increased demand for rare metals: Sr, B, Br, I. This is explained by their wide use in many industries. For example, the consumption of lithium products is steadily increasing. The obtained results showed that in the liquid phase in connection with high salt content and a significant difference in the macro- and microcomponents contents, conditions are initially created for the microcomponents selective isolation possibility. The identified conditions realization is most possible in such technological processes as cryotechnology, sorption and ion flotation. There is an urgent need to expand research in this direction and to recognize as a publicly important task the mining and industrial waste processing full-scale introduction into the practice of operating mining and processing enterprises and iron and steel companies.INTRODUCTION Mineral and industrial raw material mining and preparation make a negative impact on the environment. Flotation of halite?new, recently begun to be developed method of processing water-soluble minerals. In the paper the results of studies of the new directions of the application of halite flotation are represented. Studies on the flotation separation of halite and sylvite in the salt solutions of different composition, showed the possibility of the halite flotation realization not only in the carnallite brine (content of salts: MgCl2 25.5% ~ 26.0 %, chlorides of potassium and sodium 5.5% ~ 6.0%), but in the sylvinite brine, which contains 10.5% ~ 10.8% KCl and 20.5% ~ 21% NaCl. On the basis obtained results are carried out experiences on the halite flotation from samples of the converted products of sylvinite ores by flotation method and by the method of the electrostatic separation. It is shown that in all cases it is possible to accomplish effective and selective recovery of halite. The halite recovery into the foam product of flotation makes 80% ~ 90% with an increase in the content of KCl in the cell product of flotation in comparison with a composition of flotation feed: - from the product after the electrostatic separation of ore ? from 76% KCl to 95% ~ 97% KCl; - from the small fraction of ore (- 0.25 + 0 mm) ? from 30% KCl to 60% ~ 64% KCl; - from middlings (intermediate products) of sylvite flotation from 16% ~ 31% KCl to 45% ~ 80% KCl. An increase in the molecular weight of alkylmorpholines increases the selectivity of the flotation separation of halite and sylvite. Halite recovery from small size fraction of ore or/and middling of sylvite flotation with the sub-sequent joint filtration halite product and tails of sylvite flotation allows to reduce considerably expenses for manufacture potash chloride from Pilot-industrial tests for the first time confirmed the possibility of the effective halite flotation in the saturated solutions of chlorides of potassium and sodium (sylvinite brine).

"The search for energy efficient technologies for comminution processes is constant in mineral processing studies, since those processes represent a major percentage of operational costs. In this context the use of stirred mills is increasing, especially for ultrafine grinding. Although many authors claim that these new equipment are more efficient than the conventional ball mills, there were very little chances to prove that in a practical way, since there are few industrial circuits where those technologies perform the same duty. Therefore, the regrinding circuit of Germano second concentrator offers an interesting opportunity: a vertical mill operating in parallel with two ball mills. During almost two years of operation, several sampling campaigns were conducted to evaluate the vertical mill performance and to compare the operational data of the three mills. The industrial data was also compared to jar mill tests results, which are monthly conducted in Samarco labs in order to predict the specific energy consumption required by the ore fed to these circuits. The vertical mill demonstrated the same ability to achieve the product specifications of the ball mills while proved to be able to reduce the medium specific energy consumption in about 40%."

At this time, over 300 tons of Au are used in electronic equipment each year with other precious and strategic metals such as Ag, Pt, Pd, Cu, Nb, Ta, etc. After the use-phase, the electronic devices become electronic waste (e-waste); consequently it is important to consider e-waste as a secondary supply for recovery of these metals. One of the most important components is the printed circuit boards (PCBs) because the amount of their precious metals is ten times higher than rich precious metals bearing ore. This paper presents the recovery of Au, Ag, Cu and Nb from PCBs of discarded computers using leaching column technique. The amount of these metals in used PCBs was: 613 g/ton of Au, 1515 g/ton of Ag, 36 g/ton of Nb and 23.4 % of Cu. The PCBs were crushed with a hammer mill until reaching a particle size between 3.33 mm to 0.43 mm. Then, it was leached with sodium cyanide solution in a glass column using the following conditions: sodium cyanide concentration 4 g/L, flux 20 L/kg PCBs day, pH between 10.5 to 11 and leaching time 15 days. Every day, after leaching, the pregnant solutions passed through a column with activated carbon to complete the closed loop system. The following recoveries were obtained: 46.6% of Au, 51.3% of Ag, 47.2% of Nb and 62.3 % of Cu. The products obtained are: a) loaded carbon that contains the desired metals and b) processed PCBs with precious metal contents. A preliminary technical-economic study shows the feasibility to create a small-scale PCBs recycling plant. The initial investment is on the order of US$ 155 639, considering the recovered metals from loaded carbon. The internal rate of return for 10 years period (IRR) and net present value (NPV) estimated are 27% and US$ 105 926 respectively. "At present, research on the surface chemical properties of uranium minerals is very scanty, which restricts the research progress of uranium ore flotation process research. The research aimed at exploring the surface characteristics of two common uranium minerals and providing basis for flotation process to enrich uranium minerals in ore. This paper selected pitchblende and uraninite as the object of study, which are widely distributed in uranium deposits. We chose out the pure minerals of pitchblende and uraninite from different ores collected from different uranium deposits. By means of Zeta potential test and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) test, a preliminary study on surface characteristics of the pure minerals of pitchblende and uraninite was conducted. And the significance of the change of Zeta potential, the elements composition and valence state on the minerals surface for flotation was discussed. The research shows that, the Zeta potentials of pitchblende and uraninite in pure water are negative mainly when the pH value varies from 2 to 11, which maybe a result of the difference of ionization capacity between two kinds of oxy-compounds on the surface of minerals. On the surface of pitchblende and uraninite, the metal elements are mainly U, Th and Pb. U is mainly in the form of UO2, Th is mainly in the form of ThO2, and Pb is mainly in the form of Pb and PbO. Based on the surface characteristics of pitchblende and uraninite, we can select process and reagents appropriately in uranium ore flotation.INTRODUCTION Globally, the major challenges associated with exploitation of low grade ores are about finding economically feasible processes for reducing the mass of gangue minerals (Filippov et al., 2012). Among the beneficiation technologies of low grade uranium ores with complex minerals assemblage, flotation is the common process which is used to reduce production cost and eliminate the acid-consuming minerals (Li et al., 2016; Liu et al., 2015)."

"The problem of separation of copper minerals and arsenopyrite remains relevant because of environmental requirements. The selective action of reagents with the thioamide group (thioamides) is known in iron sulfide’s flotation of pyrite and pyrrhotite. The aim of this study was to reduce the arsenic content in the copper concentrate when using thioamides by reducing the flotation of arsenopyrite in the flotation of the sulfide part of the skarn scheelite-sulfide ores. We have chosen the most widely used thioamides for the study, such as Z-200. We also synthesized new reagents with the thioamide group. The most selective and the most powerful thioamide copper collector were used for further studies. Reduction of arsenic content in copper concentrates is achieved in the following way: You need to apply a strong thioamide collector with a selective but weak dialkyldithiophosphate collector, or vice-versa, a selective, but a weak thioamide collector should be used with the dialkyldithiophosphate reagent with strong collective properties. The proposed combination presents industrial interest because of its accessibility. The application of thioamides in copper minerals and arsenopyrite selection has showed that these reagents have fewer selective properties than dialkyldithiophosphates. To achieve the comparable recovery of copper using dialkyldithiophosphates requires markedly greater consumption of thioamides, due to their lower hydrophobic ability. The application of a composition of thioamides and dialkyldithiophosphates allows to increase the recovery of copper and to obtain a lower arsenic content in copper concentrates compared to their individual use. The lowest arsenic content in the copper concentrate is obtained in the composition consisting of the newly synthesized thioamide with strong collective properties and selective dialkyldithiophosphate. The addition of even small amounts of xanthate to the composition of thioamides and dialkyldithiophosphates causes a sharp increase in the arsenic content in the copper concentrate without a notable increase in copper recovery."

The feed to Chadurmalu iron ore concentrator plant is a mixture of magnetite and haematite iron ore with a Fe/FeO ratio of about 8. The feed to plant, after grinding via wet SAG mill, is pre-separated by wet low intensity magnetic separator. Magnetic product is conducted to magnetite processing circuit for producing magnetite concentrate, and nonmagnetic product is directed to haematite processing circuit. Due to surface oxidization of magnetite particles and a decrease in magnetic attraction properties, significant amount of these particles are misled to tailing which results in decreasing the efficiency of haematite processing circuit. This problem can be remedied by using magnetic drum separator with more magnetic intensity and/or gradient. In this paper, the replacement of LIMS separators with wet medium intensity magnetic separators with a field intensity of 3800 gauss on drum surface (MIMS) have been suggested and considered as the most suitable solution to prevent the loss of magnetite particles. The results of carried out investigations with replacement of drum separators in industrial scale, showed that utilizing MIMS in magnetite processing circuit resulted in increasing final concentrate weight recovery on average by 2.59%, without any adverse effect on the concentrate quality; decreasing the magnetite content in the feed to high gradient magnetic separator (HGMS) by about 3.5%; decreasing the feed to floatation part by about 7% and consequently decreasing consumption of chemical reagents; increasing Fe/FeO ratio of the feed to plant. "The mining industry is currently facing significant challenges to identify and adopt sustainable collector chemistry that effectively recover value minerals in difficult-to-process low-grade resources. These are typically characterized by complex mineralogy and the presence of significant amounts of penalty gangue sulfide minerals, especially pyrit which is a challenge to separate from value minerals at many major mine operations. Three chemical strategies for dealing with gangue sulfides and penalty elements are: a) selective flotation of value minerals while rejecting penalty minerals in the whole circuit, b) rejecting penalty minerals in an appropriate part of the circuit using selective depressants, c) using a combination of selective collectors and depressants in appropriate parts of the circuit. This paper will evaluate different strategies for dealing with those penalty elements and propose the most efficient alternative. New products and application technologies have been developed in the past 25 years by Cytec for implementing these strategies as dictated by the particular needs of a given plant. However, in recognition of the growing interest in meeting the sustainability challenges, Cytec Research and Development have been focused in the development of greener products (collectors, modifiers and frothers) and processes using FLOTATION MATRIX 100TM approach used to develop the optimal collector system for each specific ore. An overview of these new developments is given in this paper using case studies of application of selective collectors and polymeric modifiers including the newer, greener chemistries."

The life cycle assessment method is applied to investigate the environmental impacts of cop-per-slag and copper-ore concentration process. Some environmental load data of copper production are obtained. The result indicates that damage level of human health, ecosystem quality and re-sources respectively is 0.174, 0.0203, 0.246 in the copper-slag concentration and 0.112, 0.0136, 0.299 in the copper-ore concentration. Environmental impact of copper-slag production (0.44) is more than that of copper-ore production (0.42), but can meet the environmental protect demand. With domestic copper concentrate supply gap enlarging, recovering copper from slag will lead to a significant improving of resource utilization and development of circulation economics.

The large-scale vibrating screen has been applied widely in coal industry and other industrial areas as a kind of important device. As vibration mechanical device, it works very hardly and works in very bad environment so that the structure of screen is damaged easily. Therefore, it is very important that how to detect the fault of structure as early as possible to make the repair schedule reasonably and economically and to avoid the body hurt and device damage. As a kind of important structure of vibrating screen, the lower crossbeam is the main carrying structure and it is easily damaged, so it is regarded as a researched object in this thesis and it is tested under the load in the laboratory. Based on the test, acoustic emission wave signals can be got-ten by modern acoustic emission testing technique. Then, the ?wavelet packet - energy? from the characteristics of acquiring signals is used as neural network input vector. In the BP network structure design, the design of a hidden layer with variable number of BP network is established. Based on the error by contrast, the best nerve number can be identified in the hidden layer. Through integrated analysis, using Levenberg-Marquard BP study algorithm, network-training errors are relatively small, the acoustic emission signal is used in BP neural network as a pattern of recognition. In Matlab6.5, neural network model identification is created and taking advantage of nonlinearity and the ability of learning and memory of Neural Network, this model is fixed by training structure of network with training samples. The work presented shows that acoustical emission signal processing and research on early fatigue fault diagnosis based on the wavelet and the neural network is viable.

"The study provides the comparative analysis of the performance of water only cyclones and hydrocyclone for iron ore fines processing at Joda Iron ore processing plant, Tata Steel. Joda iron ore deposits have higher proportion of kaolinite in the finer fractions and are meant to be separated with cyclones. The iron processing flowsheet of Joda comprises of water only cyclone for beneficiation of iron ore fines. Water only cyclones are used for the beneficiation of fines in the iron ore processing industry and have a larger cone angle compared to that of conventional hydrocyclones to enhance the density effect in the separation. They are aimed to achieve better product quality of underflow however; the desired result could not be achieved at the Joda processing plant. The water only cyclones were operating at the corrected cut-size of about 60 micron with an imperfection of 0.40 and water split to underflow was approximately 10%. The overall Fe recovery from the water only cyclones were 60%. Since the quality of fines produced from the water only cyclone couldn’t be improved, an attempt was made to process the fraction in the conventional hydrocyclone to achieve the desired product quality. The trial results indicated better product quality with the Fe recovery of 72% at corrected cut-size of 70 microns and imperfection of around 0.29. In view of above results it was recommended to replace the water only cyclones with hydrocyclones to achieve higher product quality of about 60% Fe content.INTRODUCTION Water only cyclones were installed at wet plant, Joda to process the classifier fines where the cyclone underflow is considered as concentrate and overflow is discarded as slime. Because of the lower capacity of the cyclones 30% of the classifier overflow was bypassed directly to thickener. Apart from this the quality of fines produced from the water only cyclone couldn’t be improved further hence an attempt was made to process the fraction in the conventional hydrocyclone to achieve the desired product quality and quantity. Hydrocyclone was installed at Joda after replacing stub-cyclone and came into operation on 23rd Aug’ 2017.The process variables of water only cyclones and hydrocyclones are tabulated below:"

The objective of this research was, to evaluate the hazard of heavy metals in the soil around the National Iranian Lead & Zinc (NILZ) Company. In this study, 38 samples of soil around the NILZ factory were collected using standard sampling method, so that, the heavy metals Pb, Zn, Cd and Cr have been evaluated. The concentration of heavy metals were measured and compared with standard limits. The results show that the hazard of heavy metals in soil is not so serious and the content of Pb in just 5 percent of samples, and the content of Zn in just 3 percent of samples were above standard limits and the concentration of Cd and Cr were under the standard limits. Average, variance and standard deviation of the elements are calculated and with due attention to the standard deviation, Pb and Zn are seen to be more distributed than Cd and Cr. Also the isograde curve of heavy metals was drawn using software called Surfer. These curves showed that the heavy metals are concentrated at particular distances from the factory. Gold extraction using iodide leaching from refractory carbonaceous gold ores was studied. Thermodynamic analysis of iodide leaching chemistry had been carried out. Eh-pH diagram of Au-I2-I--H2O leaching system showed that the coordinating active forms from iodides were I3- and I-, while the major coordinate compound formed during iodide leaching was AuI-. For leaching parameters optimization, technological parameters such as I2 concentration, I2 :I- ratio, oxidation assisting agents, liquid/solid ratio, and leaching duration were studied. The leaching results showed that the average Au leaching rate reached 91% and 92% for oxidized ore and roasted primary ore respectively. Leaching process proceeded in weekly acidic or neutral slurry at ambient temperature; the leaching duration was 4 hours. After that gold was extracted from the pregnant liquor by activated carbon adsorption ? desorption ? electrowinning process. Gold recovery was over 93% in the adsorption process, while the gold recovery in electrowinning process was about 95%, provided that the initial gold concentration is 40mg/L or larger. For iodine regeneration it is enough to add hydrogen peroxide in excess into the filtrate after gold electrowinning, all the iodides existing in the solution in any forms would be precipitated in the form of elemental iodine.

Nowadays the optical sorting of industrial minerals is one of the most important processing methods which has cost efficient production possibilities. This method is used for industrial and raw materials that have different colour and brightness features. Initially this technology is used for sorting of foodstuffs and recovered glass, but for a long time also as physical mineral processing method for both industrial minerals like: limestone, marble, talc, basalt, flint, quartz and secondary raw materials like: building rubble, refractory materials, glass, plastic and household waste. In this study via optical sorting the separation of quartz out of a flint mix, which consists of the particles with different colors and brightness, is aimed. Experiments are performed on an optical sorting machine named CombiSense® 1200 at the institute of ?Aufbereitung mineralischer Rohs-toffe? RWTH Aachen. This automatic picking device was developed by the company ?Separation Systems Engineering (SSE), Wedel?. Hand picking method is used for product analysis and the efficiency tables are prepared on every step accordingly. This process enables to reach quartz products with purity up to 100%.

"This paper introduces the mineralogical analysis of certain polymetallic copper-zinc ore in China with the aim of improving the flotation process. The main valuable elements, mineral phases and compositions of run-of-mine ore were inspected by the X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) and chemical analysis. For a deep known of the old process defects, Mineral Liberation Analysis system (MLAs) was employed to investigate the minerals liberation degree of selected key slurry points. Analysis results show that the run-of-mine ore belongs to the original copper-zinc polymetallic symbiotic ore at low oxidative level, which mainly contains 0.16% Cu, 4.43% Zn and 0.88% Sn. Gangue minerals are mainly silicate minerals, and zinc mineral is sphalerite. MLAs test illustrates that about 86% sphalerite has been dissociated in zinc flotation feed. In the current flotation process, over grinding of sphalerite monomer and insufficient liberation of intergrowths are the key problems need to be solved imminently. Up to this point, a new process consisted of two steps roughing unit is submitted in this research. It contributes two positive effects on zinc flotation performance: (i) separating sphalerite monomer timely to decrease overgrinding; (ii) improving zinc minerals intergrowths liberation efficiency. Flotation results indicate that the zinc concentrate grade increased 0.90% and the recovery improved 0.96% in the new flotation processINTRODUCTION Mineralogical analysis mainly focusses on solving mineralogy problems in minerals processing, assisting in minerals behaviors prediction and control for separation engineering (Falkovich, et al., 2001; Hillier, et al., 2003; Schouwstra and Smit, 2011). Process defects searching becomes its ordinary work, and flotation optimization appears to be its targets gradually. For example, Lucky Friday mine company (Idaho America) fails to obtain qualified lead concentrate as the change of ore properties (Nadoll, et al., 2011). Mineralogical analysis ascertains that there are too many dissociated sphalerite, pyrite and gangue particles exist in lead concentrate. According to this, more cleaning units are added to solve problems effectively. Kanowna Belle mine (Australia) takes a flash circuit in operation successfully with the aim of optimize flotation process, under the helps of mineralogical analysis and industrial test (Newcombe, et al., 2013). Lotter N.O. (2011) gives a deep description on how mineralogical data assisting mineral processing engineers to design and optimize flowsheet. For decades, quantitative and automated mineralogy techniques (Andersen, et al., 2009; Gu, et al., 2012; Oghazi, et al., 2009; Yu, et al., 2007) get well developed and hugely improve the veracity and repeatability of minerals properties measurement. Among these, MLAs (Gu, 2003) provided by JKMRC (Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Center) is critically acclaimed all over the world. This analysis system can measure mineral phases composition and content, particles size, minerals occurrence and liberation degree directly."

In this apparatus closed sized particles are placed in a container and then fluidized by passing water through the load of particles. Water flow is adjusted to deposit particles in one or more layers depending on the specific gravity of each of the particles, after which the deposited particles are separated in portions of different specific gravity. The obtained portions represent different ore content of the closed sized fraction. The process is repeated for all other size fractions to generate washability curve of the feed. Three different types of iron ores and one coal sample are tested in this equipment. The theoretical yield-grade curve generated for iron ore feed is unique in absence of any such practice for ore minerals. Similar curve is generated for coal and it is compared with washability curve, an existing practice followed worldwide. This comparison validates the performance of the process and the equipment.
