Abstract

Control of ball mill grinding circuits is important due to the enormous consumption of electrical energy in mineral processing and other industries. Optimal control requires preliminary detailed studies of static and dynamic characteristics of the process. In this paper a study of nonlinear dynamics is presented with a view toward application to automatic control and the achievement of maximum grinding rate at minimal energy consumption. The study begins with Zagustin's equation (1935) of grinding kinetics [ ]
