Abstract
The problems encountered with the introduction and use of Isanol underground are  described. Significant direct as well as  indirect savings have resulted from the use of  Isanol. Field studies have shown that the  concentration of common gases released during  detonation is considerably lower than with  conventional nitro-compound type of explosives.
