Abstract

The Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) was accepted for signature at the United ,Nations in September of 1996. It ‘now awaits ratification by its signatories, ~including the United States. After the Treaty is in force, the main concern of the international community twill be to verify that no nuclear test is performed.
