Abstract

Consolidated Murchison, the only antimony producer in South Africa, is situated in the northeastern part of Transvaal. Phalaborwa, an important copper/phosphate mining town is situated about 60 km to the east of Consolidated Murchison, on the border of the Kruger National Park. The mine is jointly controlled by Johannesburg Consolidated Investment Co. Ltd. (JCI) and Anglovaal Limited.
