Abstract

Heap leaching is an old technique for the recovery of copper, but a fairly new technique for the recovery of gold.The paper outlines the equipment required for the establishment of heap leaching test facilities and the procedure required to insure meaningful results. Sampling methods, the metal balance, carbon adsorption and stripping and safety procedures are discussed in broad outline.
