Abstract
The aim of this paper is to discuss the impact of end bearing plate on the capacity of micropile.
Preliminary studies have been made in Sudan in specific area of cohesive soil. Experimental works were
carried on a number of micropiles with and without end bearing plate. Same diameters, lengths and
techniques of placing cement grout are considered, there after the axial load test applied to find out the
capacities of micropiles in both cases. Deduced results in each case show that the end bearing plate has no
positive impact on micropile capacity.
