Abstract
The Cummings Complex consists of three superposed sills, exhibiting
a differentiation pattern: the lowest sill being the most
basic and the highest sill, the most acid. Each sill is also
characterized by an internal petrographic and geochemical variation
which is evidence of differentiation due to fractional crystallization.
The REE concentrations in the different units of the complex
indicates that the three sills are comagmatic. The interpretation
of these results permits the formulation of an emplacement model not
previously proposed for this complex.
