Abstract
Many non-metallic minerals and structural materials are produced
in Ontario to serve the needs of domestic manufacturers
and export markets. In 1982 production was estimated to have
a value of $765 million. Approximately 81 per cent of this was
represented by structural materials, nearly 12.8 per cent by
salt, and the remainder was other industrial minerals. Total
mineral production in Ontario in 1982 was estimated at $3 .16
billion, down nearly $1.5 billion from 1980's high of $4.58
billion.
