The aim of the study was to determine the ranges of stability and instability of the metal hydroxides and metal cyanide species that may be formed during the gold extraction process, Merrill-Crowe gold precipitation, and Inco S02/Air or ferrous ion cyanide removal processes.Following cyanide detoxification by the Inco S02/Air process, the main components of concern in the tailings will be:
