Abstract

In view of the growing commercial interest In the higher boiling fractions of low-temperature tar, a study of the literature has been undertaken to obtain as many data as possible regarding the properties of possible pure constituents. The following substances have been studied: THREE-ORTHO-XYLENOL (1, 2-DIMETHYL-3-HYDROXYBENZENE) Detection By the isolation of the silver salt of 1, 2-dimethyl-3-phenoxyacetic acid.
