Abstract

The Bureau of Mines for a number of years has been carrying on an investigation of properties of crude petroleum from producing, fields in the United States and the Western Hemisphere, and has published a series of reports on these fields, including oil fields of Oklahoma2. Acknowledgements Thanks are due to R. R. Brandenthaler and Peter Grandone, of the Petroleum Experiment Station of the Bureau of Mines, at Bartlesville, Oklahoma, who reviewed the manuscript and contributed valuable suggestions. The samples were analyzed under the direction of E. C. Lane at the Bartlesville station of the Bureau of Mines.
