Abstract

This class of flowsheet-dependent simulators does not replace modular simulators, such as Modsim and Microsim, which are necessary for the assessment of different flowsheets before selection of the most desirable technical option and for investigation of the fine details of unit processes. The system presented here is regarded as complementary, serving in the early stages of feasibility studies as an aid to assessing the convenience and economics of preconcentration; the example used is of dense-medium preconcentration of a barytes-fluorite ore
