Abstract

Bloomfield Collieries Rix’s Creek Mine is an open cut coal operation located in the Hunter Valley region of Australia. The mine produces approximately 1.1 mt of saleable product per year and routinely employs cast-blasting practices for its unique dragline-truck overburden excavation method.
