Abstract

Colorado today is the largest coal producing state west of the Mississippi River. Developments around Denver began about 1860, and the building of railroads created a good market for the new industry. The development of the smelter and steel industries near Pueblo increased the demand. The available records are not complete, and all the data found are shown in Table 76. [ ]
