Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explain the production of sand for glass manufacturing and the reasoning behind the sand specifications set by the glass industry. In order to discuss the production of glass sand, there is a need to understand what glass is and how it is made. Therefore this paper discusses glass, as well as sand beneficiation.
