Abstract

The President's Prizes, which consist of $30 and $20, were established for the best essays on some subject related to Mining, Economic Geology, or Metallurgy by a Junior Associate or a Member of an Affiliated Student Society of the Institute. In making the awards, special weight will be given to originality in investigation and treatment and to literary merit. As a general rule, the essays should not be less than 3000 nor more than 10,000 words.
