Abstract
THE occurrence of superplasticity in Al-Zn alloys is of interest because of its possible industrial exploitation.' The eutectoid composition (78Zn-22A1) has been the most extensively studied;'-= neck resistant flow and high strain rate sensitivity of flow stress (characteristic of superplasticity) are associated with a micron-size grain conferred on the alloy by an homo-genization and quench.5'6 Compositions away from the eutectoid have received comparatively little attention, especially from the viewpoint of relating the structural
