Abstract

As the storage of water for agricultural and mining purposes in the arid regions of the West is now receiving much attention by the people and their representatives, some facts coucerning the greatest pioneer enterprise for the purpose should appear on our records. I refer to the dam and reservoir at Walnut Grove, in Yavapai county, Arizona Territory, which was finished in the winter of 1887, and is known as the Walnut Grove Dam, It is not my intention at this time to give a full description of
