Abstract

The severity of disturbances caused by longwall mining subsidence to various residential structures can be re¬duced. The success of such mitigation efforts depends on accurate subsidence prediction, correct assessments of the subsidence influences, and careful design and implementa¬tion of the proper mitigation measures. This paper presents the systematic approach involved in the subsidence mitiga¬tion efforts with a case demonstration.
