Interlocking Caisson Walls

Interlocking caisson walls developed from conventional "soldier pile and lagging" shoring. In the latter, the soldier piles receive directly most of the soil load. Natural arches form in the soil behind the shoring; the lagging supports little more than the segment of soil inside the arch.
