Abstract
THE solid phase equilibria' and the martensitic transformation in the iron-nickel system have been the subject of considerable study. In addition, there have been numerous investigations on the calorimetric and thermodynamic properties of iron-nickel alloys. The purpose of the present work is to extend the existing information concerning the martensitic reaction in the iron-nickel system, and to develop a general thermodynamic treatment which will encompass the equilibrium and non-equilibrium phase
