Abstract

"Enhanced concern for protection of the environment and attendant actions by environ-mental regulatory authorities in support of this concern are influencing, to varying degrees, the demand and supply of a range of industrial minerals in a number of jurisdictions. These influences take a variety of forms. In this paper, the author seeks to delineate certain broad trends which are occurring relative to industrial minerals and the environment and then, through a series of examples, to outline opportunities, developments, and impacts respecting a number of industrial minerals produced and consumed in Canada and the United States."
