Abstract
In May of 1986, the Arizona Legislature passed comprehensive environ-mental legislation called the Environmental Quality Act (the Act). The Act focuses on ground water protection and addresses drinking water quality, aquifer protection standards, requirements to apply technology to reduce discharges, and a state Superfund program.
