Abstract

The following paper was presented at an International Conference on Mine Safety Research held at Dortmund, Germany, September 23-28, 1935, inclusive. This conference was attended by representatives of Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, and the United States ands by invitation, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Spain, and Russia. The first international conference of representatives of mine-safety, research stations was held the United States Bureau of Mines Pittsburgh Experiment station in 1912 .4/
