Abstract

The United States Bureau of Mines often receives inquiries from the mineral , petroleum , and allied industries concerning the essential steps to be taken in the formation of Holmes Safety chapters and councils . The purpose of this circular is to answer in a general way such inquiries and to relate briefly the history and work of the Holmes Safety Association to the present date .
