Abstract
BUREAU OF MINES helium plants produced a. record-breaking 477 million cubic feet of this essential element in 1959. Helium was in abundant supply after August, and the informal allocation system which had been in use intermittently since 1955 was discontinued Delivery of 26 new tank cars in August and September increased the total in the tank-car pool to 163.
