Abstract

Various innovative Ground Improvement techniques have been proposed and applied to facilitate construction of the Central Artery/Tunnel Project in Boston. Given in this paper are discussions of the extensive use of deep soil mixing and jet grouting, and passive construction dewatering applications that are associated with the Design Sections D009A, D007A, and D019E.
