Abstract
The Porgera Gold Mine, located in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, has produced over 5 million ounces of Au, since  its opening in late 1990. The deposit is located within Upper Cretaceous Papuan Platform sediments approximately 25  km south of the Lagaip Fault, and is spatially and temporally associated with the 6 Ma alkaline Porgera Intrusive  Complex.
