Abstract

Overview ? Vehicle Projects LLC (prime contractor) and the Fuelcell Propulsion Institute have developed the world?s first fuelcell locomotive. ? Principal applications are underground mining and tunneling. ? Because fuelcell vehicles solve the problem of underground emissions, mining is expected to be their first commercially viable market. ? The first year of a three-year project to develop a fuelcell mine loader is funded and underway.
