This report was prepared by the Department of Mineral Engineering, The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania under USBM Grant Number G0155102. The grant was initiated under the Metal and Nonmetal Health and Safety Research Program. It was administered under the technical direction of the Pittsburgh Mining and Safety Research Center with Mr. Roger L. King acting as the Technical Project Officer. Mr. J. A. Herickes was the contract administrator for the Bureau of Mines. This report is a summary of the work recently completed as part of this grant during the period February 1, 1975 to July 31, 1976. This report was submitted by the authors on August 31, 1976.
