Abstract

Process data managers or historians are recognized as essential for reengineering projects in industrial plants. With increasing automatic data collection, the knowledge of how to use these data profitably grows as well. This paper is a summary of the data historian and its components plus examples of benefits including environmental reporting, performance monitoring, and exception reporting to management.
