Abstract

"This paper describes Outokumpu's Tank Cell concept using the unit reactor principle and operating experience gained in various applications. Presently the tank cells used range in size from 35 t pilot size to 100 m' (3500 cuft). The paper discusses operating experience and results from commercial installations in copper and zinc rougher and cleaner services. The key feature of the Tank Cell described is the effective control of the froth phase and resulting possibility to operate on an improved grade recovery curve by manipulating the control variables."
